    Thanks for what you bring to the community, Allen! Your videography experience is a tremendously unfair advantage and an inspiration to us all. I just started my new UA-cam channel this week and am loving the process. From a fellow bald guy and mountain biker...send it, brother!

    Welcome back on the trail, and thanks for the demo of the 360 camera! Fun effect reminded me of the illustrations in The Little Prince where he's standing on his small planet. UA-cam manages simultaneously to seem like a small and a large planet. Hopefully, we can all succeed in finding our "Corner of the [YT] Sky."

    Yesss!! Love your take on this! Time & Effort versus the views you get just don't always correlate. It can be demotivating. I don't know, the easy mode thing, I don't believe in it.

    Another great video Allen. I think the easy mode talk has a real element of truth in it, but at the same time its still hard work. I got monetized in four months but worked my butt of for all of that time. Now I am there I am making the big bucks, $7 this week!! Love the fish eye camera. Always enjoy whatever you talk about. Hope you keep going and that it continues to be fun and not a chore.

    I agree if its story on easy mode it needs more substance. By the way daring move recording while riding but this is another great video as always Allen. My thoughts I am bored of the Dough Dash thing. Too many such videos now similar and ………and….. and hmmmmmm

    I think Ez-Mode is a fade, and I've been ignoring videos in my homescreen about Ez-Mode. Unless you're just effortlessly the most interesting person in the world and can riff endlessly without running out of things to say. Most of us are not that way, especially me :D I do agree that it's easier than ever to actually upload a video, but it's not easy to start/grow/maintain a channel.

    Im just 3 weeks in to starting my channel.
    I’m concentrating on making content about my interests, posting a short every day and videos when I can. Added more playlists this week … just trying to get my channel going and grow from there. Over 60 too so I feel I have a lot to say. The hard part was starting. I was told the easy mode had to do with the algorithm and YT pushing new content. So I can’t say if it is helping me or not. I have a couple things doing real well with views but others not so much. But I’m having fun with this and will stick with it. I have the most issues with editing and have tried a few apps now, not really found a great one for me yet.

    Happy for Dough Dash’s success! She’s put in years of hard work, and this isn’t her first channel, so it definitely wasn’t an overnight success as some think. Her style resonates with many (not me), but it feels like every copycat video is the same-using her name for views, and successfully so. I’ve seen more comments lately that viewers are getting bored, since all the videos look and feel the same. I wonder how long this wave of 'easy mode' videos will last. Personally, I prefer watching and creating content with more depth and am taking my time to find my own style. With just one day a week to focus on my channel, I’m learning to give myself grace and prioritize quality over quantity, so I will not post a video just to post. Hopefully success will come with time:)

      @wabisabisylvie111 I agree with you. My video today was what I would classify as "easy mode" and it's not something I want to do all the time. But as I mentioned in the video, my last 2 heavily produced videos didn't go crazy in terms of views so who knows what the answer is.

      @@LifeAsAllen Haha I see what you mean. But I have to say for me your "easy mode" video style I classify as high caliber as you are well-spoken and articulate, and your videos are always entertaining and interesting. Just keep making videos that you enjoy making and are proud of, and your audience will eventually find you.

    I think EZ mode would be great especially because it's a new channel. I think creating playlists are key. I would suggest making a playlist of your EZ mode stream of consciousness videos. T the same time having playlists of your more high quality topics would be beneficial. It think it will pay off over time.

    Have the same issue, put out a quality video (for my level of knowledge) takes time and low views. Put out a taking head video low effort and it does better? Its like the people searching for ways to start a channel but not wanting to watch the content that might help them, or not watch a video from someone that has low subs. Anyway keep going! we will find that niche

    Hi Allen. I'm going to make two comments. First, I'm also starting my channel for the first time. You're just slightly ahead of me in subscriber count. I fall somewhere in between Easy Mode & Hard Work Mode. Like you, I'm not comfortable posting just anything to post. On the other hand, I try not to stress over making perfect videos. My channel focuses on being a notary public. That makes it easy for me to come up with content. In fact, I'm never at a loss for content...it's just finding the time and place to record.

      Now for my second comment. When I saw that you were seated on a bike for this video, I expected your topic to be about "getting back on a bike as a grown up". I was kind of disappointed that you didn't talk about that. I'm not complaining. I'm just saying since you good about mixing up your filming locations, I think you can turn each location or activity into a topic. You're definitely on the road to success. I enjoyed watching and listening to your videos. I'll continue to follow you. Hopefully, we'll reach the summit around the same time and can celebrate.

    Question … this was filmed with the little 360 camera? Do you still like it? I have one in my cart to buy today so was just wanting an honest opinion. I bike and kayak and thought it would be good for that kind of thing. I do have a GoPro tho already so was hesitating buying the 360. Thanks for your input!

    • @LifeAsAllen
      @LifeAsAllen  Місяць тому +1

      This was actually shot with another camera I have that actually does shoot in "360". The tiny camera you saw on the other video does NOT shoot in 360. The company that makes them is called Insta360, which is sort of deceiving. The camera I used for the bike shot is the Insta360 X3. They are now on the Insta360 X4. I would watch some videos about it before purchasing it. Editing the videos with it is time consuming, but can be very good when you get the hang of it.

    To be honest, I don't believe in "easy mode". Making your videos in easy mode is like doing tricks in circus without the safety net. The safety net keeps you in business if you make a mistake. If you make a mistake and you can't edit that mistake out of your video then that might ruin your video. It might feel authentic to some to keep everything in the video but saying "uhmmm" twice in every sentence is not very attractive to the viewer. I mean, unless you have a good bit of experience, you will come to a point you can't come up with something meaningful to say at that specific moment. Also using atractive B-Roll might make your video more atractive then just looking at a boring person just talking. You have to be very good at presenting to keep people's attention these days. So, that is why I think easy mode is just easy for people with a lot of experience talking in front of a camera. It is not easy by itself but it can be easier if you already know what you are doing. You don't have to come up with a lot of editing skills or skills to make a good thumbnail.

    • @LifeAsAllen
      @LifeAsAllen  Місяць тому

      @annoholics I agree with you. Me riding the bike and just talking, with only 2 edits, qualifies as what I call easy mode. It's certainly something I don't want to do often. That said, there are some great speakers out there who can pull it off with the right subject matter.

    • @annoholics
      @annoholics Місяць тому

      @@LifeAsAllen That is exactly what I mean. When you are a great speaker and a great inspirator then you can pull it off. But is "easy mode" not supposed to be "easy"? Is something easy not something nearly anybody can do? On the other hand, if you got those skills and you know how to make a great authentic video which are inspirational to everybody, then working 10 minutes per day and getting hundreds of thousands of views per video then that is not such a bad way to make a living.
