@@combat_corp Great Video! I have a really great defensive glove from title boxing it's their classic pro fight gloves 10 oz and I also have two pairs of fighting pro fight gloves in 10 oz.
I ve seen a lot of people doing reviews about boxing gloves but i have to say, You are thounsand times better than them. Keep going like this. BEST regars from Spain.
I see Dmitry Bivol use winnings for when he trains and Grant's when he fights. IMO it's smart that he uses more protective gloves for his training and switches to a different glove for his bouts.
This is most probably the best introduction when it comes to boxing gloves. I have a couple already and I knew there were differences, but I was ignorant. This video changed that. Thank you
Very concise and informative. I use the Rival gloves for pretty much everything(sparring, drills/mittwork, softer bags) except hitting a really dense heavy bag. For that, I use an older model of Hyabusa gloves where I can just load up on heavy shots as much as I want and I'll be fine.
I usually never type comments but I will most definitely make an exception in this case. Such an amazing video and being from Kazakhstan I greatly enjoyed the GGG references. With this info, I think I'll cop a winning pillow glove because I have brittle wrists.
Thank you for the comment from Kazakhstan!!! Thank you for commenting as well! I appreciate that more than ever! Winnings are great! I would recommend Win1s by TopBoxer, the sentinel s3 or s4 by revgear, and the supersoft by sabas. They are cheaper alternatives to winning and personally I like them a little better
Thee Combat Corporation I use the win1 in 14 oz which I believe are made a bit stiffer than the 16’s , I use them for bag, pads and sparring and am very happy with them overall but am thinking of getting a glove for heavy bag work. I like to hit hard and am worried about my hands and want something that will protect my hands and still give feedback and let me hit hard do you think topboxer aliens are good for this?
As a very defensive counter puncher type boxer I always buy Mexican ( cleto , pro mex) or Thai gloves ( fairtex, windy) so I don’t need to put my all in every punch and can do my thing while still doing some damage at a comfortable pace
Pro Mex is cheap Title Boxing garbage just so you know. IRS made in China or something check it out. It’s just another on of their brands. If you like Mexican made, try Leaders Boxing USA. They have a real Mexican made line I have a pair of customs from them but you can get the same gloves for und see $200 as long as you like the colors available and their colors are out of this world to be honest.

I have the Everlast Powerlock gloves and after 2 months of use I can say that they are incredibly poor when it comes to durability. the padding has worn out tremendously. they feel great, but they are not durable. In my case or opinion atleast. I really wanna try out cleto Reyes. Great video btw!

The Hayabusas are the closest to Winnings when it comes to protection, but I was surprised to see how amazing the wrist support was in comparison to that of the Winnings. I wanted to switch to Cletos because the hayabusas were so protective that I wanted to feel more feedback when hitting the heavy bag.
Just got in my Cletos! These gloves are built so well, that the thumb hurts lile a bitch. It helps to shove a sock inside the thumb part to loosen it. by far my favorite gloves so far!

Thanks for the video, really helped out a lot and cleared up some misconceptions I had about the different glove types. I've been eyeing the rival gloves for a while now and after hearing what you said on them I'm sold now.
Cheap ringside pro fight gloves make perfect for bag and pad work and Powerlock have seemed to me to be perfect sparring gloves but I like the review. It’s important for people beginning to know what they’re buying and not buy something just because so and so has them!
This is an amazing video, although I'm purely into boxing I subbed just because of how informative and well researched this video is. I have a newbie question thought; what do you think of the Venum elite glove? And under which category would you put it? Really great video !
That was a good review. Thank you for posting. It would also be helpful to know which gloves have smaller and larger hand compartments and if the gloves are on weight. I wear a size large winter glove (US) and although I don't have heavyweight mitts I find many 16 oz gloves to be too small.
So that would be more of an issue of brand when it comes to any form of hand compartment size. A company like Reyes has roomy hand compartments, Everlast has tighter hand compartments, WInning is a form fit, Twins Special is tiny as is Fairtex, Top King. All of these companies make gloves specific ways. Which company 16 oz do you use?
@@combat_corp - thank you for your response. I tried the Reyes 16 oz velcro and loved the hand compartment which was a perfect fit. I also liked the feedback and quality of the glove but the long sleeve for the forearm was too tight to the point I couldn't turn my punches over with the velcro open as much as it could go (my forearms aren't that large btw). Maybe it was just that pair of gloves? The 16 oz Rival RS1 lace up fits but is still a little small. For reference I'm 6 ft tall, 180lbs. Would love to find a Cleto style glove that's comfortable. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
@@mtmatt6111 ive owned a few pairs of cletos but never had that feeling regarding the long/tight wrist supports....interesting. i don't remember if he mentioned top boxer gloves in this vid. I think they are the gold Infinity Gauntlet gloves by his right arm. That company is owned by a young guy out of Pakistan who apparently makes great stuff. You could tell him exactly what you need and they could be custom made to your specs. You can choose padding type, density and thickness. Type of wrist supports... everything. It should only cost the same as a pair of Cletos off the shelf, too. I plan on getting a pair from him in the future.
I would for sure say it would be a defensive glove because of how stiff the padding is and how big the glove itself is. It's so interesting because it has an extremely flat punching surface compared to others but the thickness of the padding is at least 3 inches. It's also very wide which makes me think it is a defensive glove. However the fight glove version from what I understand is 100 percent a punchers glove. So Everlast really through a whirl on the Elites. For sure my favorite glove released by them.
Excellent overview, thank you. I have a pair of Hayabusa T3's, have been using them for 2-3 years, and I really like them - multi-layer padding, comfortable and easy on the hands, great wrist support. I'm thinking of getting a pair of Winning but it sounds like the two are very similar. Between the two, and without regard for the huge price difference, which do you prefer?
Great video! I have very brittle hands and knuckles and didn't even know i have been using mostly Mexican style/less padding gloves this whole time. Will be sure to invest in a pillow style glove
I buy cleto reyes before swe this video. If u have a weak hand and a hard punch this glove is not really convenient for you at all. When I train in the heavy bag my hand hurt me after the training. But if you wrap very good your hand you will be able to throw punches with a lot of power and not hurt you at all. What I am trying to say is, If you want a cleto Reyes for punching heavy bag with force that gloves is not the best option for you. I recommend the winning for that. Amazing video thanks

This is the best and most thorough explanations of boxing glove types on YT! Thanks for your work! Do you know of any gloves or brands that have 8 oz gloves with enough protection for a heavy bag? I'm 140 lbs, looking for a glove that can provide enough protection and be ultra light at the same time. I feel like Winning might be it, but let me know if you think another brand is better in this situation.
Cleto Reyes uses horse hair for padding which protects the boxer but also increases your power punch, they are nicked name "the KO gloves" many hall of fames have used Cleto Reyes. recomended for fast agressive style like Julio Cesar Chavez or Many Paquiao. many times they tried to buy out the company and move it to another country to be more afforable but the owner Alfonso reyes the son does not want to compromised the quality and his father goal of making the best glove. hence why they dont do sponsorships either. meaning all top boxers buy the actual glove for its quality.
Hey!! What an awesome channel dude. Great videos. I’m looking at buying a pair of Cleto Reyes in the near future. I’m just wondering, are they still able to open and catch shots like the defensive gloves? Thanks.
Dig the video very helpful! Just wondering about those Faitex camo gloves in the box. Is that Alex with the melon hat from clockwork orange? What model Faitex gloves are or were those?
Nice video. Very helpful! But any ideas about types or brands of gloves for bigger hands? My fingertips are touching the end of the pocket in my 14oz Windys. I just hit the bag basically. Maybe light sparring with friends. Thanks again for the video.
Man, I wish I watched this video before. I got 14oz cletos about 4 years ago because I heard they are punchers gloves, liked how they felt on the bag but then used it in a hard sparring session some time, hit an elbow when throwing an uppercut against a tight guard and fractured my hand.
I’ve also owned a lot of gloves and winning is in the middle, i can feel the impact in my shoulders but still protective, imf foam is a pillow for me, also the aspect of true weight, Mexican gloves usually weight 2oz more than the listed weight, which could lead to injury and using muscles you otherwise wouldn’t use in lighter gloves which could affect speed and technique, grant and cleto are huge offenders, winning is also true to weight.
I doubt that any Mexican glove will still be in business and in use if the gloves weighed more than their listed weight. 2oz is a pretty big number for a glove.
Cleto Reyes is my favorite because I love to punch. However, other gloves range up there pretty far and wide! I have to make a video of my favorite gloves!
Hey man great video but I'm still a little confused on what I should get. I'm a heavy hitter and throw short combinations, I don't parry often I just slip and roll, what gloves would you recommend? Thanks
If you throw short combinations of 4 punches or more and then take a break for a couple seconds I would get a pair of punchers gloves or something similar. If you throw 4 or five shots that are trying to tear a house down, maybe a defensive or pillow style glove would be more suited for you because at the end of the day you want your hands protected at all times. It also depends on your body type. If you're a thinner guy, I'd go with a punchers glove. If you're bigger, go with a bigger glove. But my money says you're a puncher!
Kleh-toe would be the pronunciation. Short e sound. I finally got myself a set of Reyes gloves. I generally prefer Thai style gloves because they make it easier to do technical clinch work
Great video bro,you deserve more subs ! Also can you give me a suggestion on the best hybrid for transferring power while also keeping my knuckles somewhat protected, thank you :)
Bro! I appreciate you more than you know for saying that! The subscribers will come as time goes on and the videos will be here forever for everyone to see eventually, no rush on my end! I love doin this and I will continue to do it until it goes away (cough cough NEVER.) So a good puncher/pillow glove I'd recommend would be the Sabas Supersoft series. They are their Japanese style model BUT they have good snap and good pop to the punches. I would also say the Adidas Hyrbrid 300s are great for what you are searching for. You could also look into some Booster/Top Kings if you're a thai guy BUT top king's hand compartments are TIGHT
I just realized that the video is one long take. Nice.

Nice video. Very helpful! But any ideas about types or brands of gloves for bigger hands? My fingertips are touching the end of the pocket in my 14oz Windys. I just hit the bag basically. Maybe light sparring with friends. Thanks again for the video.
Great video thanks for breaking it down very good information🤛🏽
Awesome and informative vids, what are your thoughts on Rival RB1 Ultra bag gloves?
I love your videos! Thanks for sharing this info! So ... What's your pick between Cletus or grant? I'm missing grant in my collection. Subscribed !
Thanks for the video homie, very informative
Te faltó los guantes 🥊🥊 Casanova salieron en Rocky 1 también son mexicanos y son demasiado buenos
Ive got the Huyabusa T3-LX 12 ounce...great for kickboxing and muay thai
First time I went against a Reyes glove in sparring it felt like the knuckle was piercing my face, definitely wear these if you want to hurt someone
Man, I wish I watched this video before. I got 14oz cletos about 4 years ago because I heard they are punchers gloves, liked how they felt on the bag but then used it in a hard sparring session some time, hit an elbow when throwing an uppercut against a tight guard and fractured my hand.
Oh no! I'm so sorry! I hope your recovery is fast! I'd go nuts if I couldn't train!
Great breakdown. I liked the video and checked out the channel. I decided to subscribe.
Great video man! Keep the content coming!
Oooooooooh I love to have a grant boxing glove but well mom can't buy me one HAHAHAH I really like this illustration
Fantastic breakdown
What is your favourite make of glove and why ? Thanks
Cleto Reyes is my favorite because I love to punch. However, other gloves range up there pretty far and wide! I have to make a video of my favorite gloves!
I'd happily wear Reyes all day but it feels like I'm cheating
What type of glove is Vali lancer laced boxing glove?
How could I distinguish between the types when buying online?
Learnt a lot from this thanks mate
I use the Hayabusa T3’s but I like winning as well. I have smaller hands for my size so I would fight hard as a kid and that made my hands brittle.
Thanks for sharing man, great video review..
Thank yoU!
This guy is a great seller
Why thank you sir! It's just $9.99 per comment! HA!

I generally prefer Thai style gloves because they make it easier to do technical clinch work
kleh-to (short o, like in "lock").
Very cool video, super informative. awsum
@@combat_corp Thank you for the reply my man,I'll also share your channel with some of my gym and mma friends to try and get you subs.
Awesome info man love the video
