- Hey everybody! In this video I show you different types of boxing gloves that might assist you in your next purchase as well as show you how to determine what your style of punching might be. I break types of gloves down into 4 categories and in each category I tell you the pros and cons of each gloves in detail! Hopefully this helps you!
0:57 - Puncher's Gloves
5:13 - Pillow Gloves
8:17 - Defensive Gloves
11:05 - Hybrids
13:57 - Summary
I just realized that the video is one long take. Nice.
I appreciate this comment! I absolutely HATE not doing things in one go. Not just for editing purposes, but videos that had snippits every five seconds just annoy me lol.
So interesting and not discussed at all elsewhere ! Reviewers rarely go into technical detail like you do, thanks a lot 🙏
My friend! Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope this video helps people and makes everyone understand that boxing/combat sports are fun and even the equipment has its own unique factors to it!
@@combat_corp Great Video! I have a really great defensive glove from title boxing it's their classic pro fight gloves 10 oz and I also have two pairs of fighting pro fight gloves in 10 oz.
The most helpful glove video on the internet.
I ve seen a lot of people doing reviews about boxing gloves but i have to say, You are thounsand times better than them. Keep going like this. BEST regars from Spain.
Bro! thank you so much! I don't know how I am just seeing this!
Hello I’m a guy and I wanna say hi
So yeah y’all have a good day
Have you seen C Squared or Fit2Box? Just asking
Just discovered your channel and man... This is some of the best and most thorough information on gloves that I've seen online. And you also reply to questions! Thank you for this huge contribution. 🥊
I see Dmitry Bivol use winnings for when he trains and Grant's when he fights. IMO it's smart that he uses more protective gloves for his training and switches to a different glove for his bouts.
Thanks for the video, really helped out a lot and cleared up some misconceptions I had about the different glove types. I've been eyeing the rival gloves for a while now and after hearing what you said on them I'm sold now.
This is most probably the best introduction when it comes to boxing gloves. I have a couple already and I knew there were differences, but I was ignorant. This video changed that. Thank you
An absolutely brilliant breakdown. I'm pretty new to boxing, and had no idea that there were different styles of glove. This has been really helpful and educational. Thanks!
I usually never type comments but I will most definitely make an exception in this case. Such an amazing video and being from Kazakhstan I greatly enjoyed the GGG references. With this info, I think I'll cop a winning pillow glove because I have brittle wrists.
Thank you for the comment from Kazakhstan!!! Thank you for commenting as well! I appreciate that more than ever! Winnings are great! I would recommend Win1s by TopBoxer, the sentinel s3 or s4 by revgear, and the supersoft by sabas. They are cheaper alternatives to winning and personally I like them a little better
Thee Combat Corporation I use the win1 in 14 oz which I believe are made a bit stiffer than the 16’s , I use them for bag, pads and sparring and am very happy with them overall but am thinking of getting a glove for heavy bag work. I like to hit hard and am worried about my hands and want something that will protect my hands and still give feedback and let me hit hard do you think topboxer aliens are good for this?
Such a great video. Love the technical information. Thank you for posting this!
Very informative for a newbie like me. Thanks so much for posting this.
What a great vid. Never seen any other review around this subject. Very informative and to the point. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work
Can't tell you how helpful this was. Thank you!
I might be late but I want to say that I appreciate your in-depth discussion about the different kinds of gloves.
Very concise and informative.
I use the Rival gloves for pretty much everything(sparring, drills/mittwork, softer bags) except hitting a really dense heavy bag. For that, I use an older model of Hyabusa gloves where I can just load up on heavy shots as much as I want and I'll be fine.
Wtf. You go too cheap!
Thank you!!! I found this tutorial very informative! Will watch it again 😀
Thank you for the intelligent insight and perspective. I am a southpaw boxer with a pressure style yet I remain defensively responsible.
Brilliant review….I was confused with all the different types and this had made it clear for me…Thanks
I watched the whole video. Glad i did and I'm definitely SMARTER for doing so. Very informative. Thank you for posting this! 🥊🥊🥊 Subscribed!!! 😃
Very insightful and in depth! Great video
Great video! I finally understand the different types of boxing gloves now!
The review I never knew I needed, thank you!!
Video informed me on alot. I'm gonna be looking into ringside or grant. Picked boxing back up in quarantine so I'm mostly hitting the heavy bag, and I know I'll be taking shots going to a gym.
Thank you!
Dude - amazing video - great job! Explained everything perfectly. Thank you
Thank you so much my friend!
Great video. Really informative. Many thanks!
Great video! I have very brittle hands and knuckles and didn't even know i have been using mostly Mexican style/less padding gloves this whole time. Will be sure to invest in a pillow style glove
I never knew about this with gloves! This is awesome
finally, a video that actually teaches you about gloves. thanks man
wow... so much knowledge ... thank you.
Amazing knowledge and info in this video !!!
Thanks, I have been confused about types of gloves ! Since now It never happen again
I learned a lot from this video, I can't believe that you only have 2.4k subs. You deserve more!
Thank you so much my friend! I am just happy you learned something from it!
Thanks for the video homie, very informative
Can't believe there's only 2 and a half thousand subscribers. The best to detail reviews on the internet and I'm subscribed to a lot of them. Deserves a lot more attention.
Hey man that means a lot! I take it day by day. Maybe I need to post to social media a bit more who knows! I am so grateful to have you as a subscriber! Any reviews you would like to see, as always drop em below!
@@combat_corp credit were its due. Id like to see a review on sabas bella series velcro if possible mate.
@@josefgritzel7923 I can do that pretty soon actually! They are in my lineup! Might be the next one after this one I should be posting today
Sound mate. Ill keep ny eyes open!
Great video thanks for breaking it down very good information🤛🏽
Great video bud! Lots of useful information, been boxing for 3 years and didn't know all this difference between latex and multi-layered padding hahahaa. Everyone should watch this before getting their first gloves!
Thank you my friend! I am so happy that you have found this video helpful and please recommend it to anyone you know that might be getting into any combat sport. If you have any requests, please let me know!
@@combat_corpthanks for this great video bro it helped me a lot
As a very defensive counter puncher type boxer I always buy Mexican ( cleto , pro mex) or Thai gloves ( fairtex, windy) so I don’t need to put my all in every punch and can do my thing while still doing some damage at a comfortable pace
Thanks for the video man I have to order my own custom ones, I’ve got a big match coming this summer this helped a lot!
Very good and detailed video. You can tell he knows what he is talking about.
Great vid man. Lots of info, impressive glove collection.
Thank you sir! I'm scared now that I have a full time job outside of school that all my paychecks will go to the gloves LOL! I usually took my money from music gigs and bouncing in college to get the collection. I saved a lot of it but I love me gloves! Also, I am glad the info helped! Any questions just comment!
wow nice take and this is why prince naseem retired due to using gloves that wasn’t suitable for his punching power when he broke his hand
it makes sense for longevity picking right gloves for your hands goes long way. i’m impressed by this review
i’ll have to try all gloves to see which suitable for me
I have a pair of rs100 rival laced sparring gloves and they're the best gloves I've used, would definitely recommend as an all round glove.
Great video man! Keep the content coming!
Highly detailed. Great overview.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words as I hope they are helpful!
This is an amazing video, although I'm purely into boxing I subbed just because of how informative and well researched this video is. I have a newbie question thought; what do you think of the Venum elite glove? And under which category would you put it?
Really great video !
Fantastic breakdown
Me and my 2 year old girl thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thank you
If someone brings a pair of Reyes to sparring, im taking it personally
My girlfriend 🙃
@@chris_allupinya5613 😂😂😂
I just bought a pair of Reyes for sparring😂😂
Fighting fury
Fairtex bgv9
thanks so detailed
Man, I wish I watched this video before. I got 14oz cletos about 4 years ago because I heard they are punchers gloves, liked how they felt on the bag but then used it in a hard sparring session some time, hit an elbow when throwing an uppercut against a tight guard and fractured my hand.
Oh no! I'm so sorry! I hope your recovery is fast! I'd go nuts if I couldn't train!
incredibly helpful video, thanks man
Thank you!
Excellent presentation.
I own a Rival RB10 Intelli-shock for bag work and a Rival RS11V Evolution you showcased here for sparring.
This is the best video right now about boxing gloves
Awesome info man love the video
Wow this is really helpful. You’re really good at teaching about boxing.
Thank you so much!
This is the best and most thorough explanations of boxing glove types on YT! Thanks for your work! Do you know of any gloves or brands that have 8 oz gloves with enough protection for a heavy bag? I'm 140 lbs, looking for a glove that can provide enough protection and be ultra light at the same time. I feel like Winning might be it, but let me know if you think another brand is better in this situation.
I’m jealous of your glove collection back there
I learned so much from this video. I had no idea and I own a lot of gloves 😅
Thanks for sharing man, great video review..
Thank yoU!
Hey!
In my teens I used to Box a lot and I used Powerlock and Some Mex title gloves. But then I developed tendinitis and carpel tunnel in both my wrist due to overworking construction. (18)
And had to stop boxing for some time.
I recently at the age of 21 have begun Boxing seriously again and decided to pick up a pair of T3s and they REALLY make a difference! If you have wrist injuries or hand issues I highly recommend pairing the T3s with some knuckle guards and hand wraps for Heavy Bag and Mittwork and doing this has caused my tendinitis to not really get in the way of Boxing anymore.
Tip:
Please do stretch your wrist and have your ice and anti inflammatory cream ready post boxing in order to assure your wrist / hand don’t develop or get another injury!
Ive got the Huyabusa T3-LX 12 ounce...great for kickboxing and muay thai
Learnt a lot from this thanks mate
I am searching for that info thank you sir
Cheap ringside pro fight gloves make perfect for bag and pad work and Powerlock have seemed to me to be perfect sparring gloves but I like the review. It’s important for people beginning to know what they’re buying and not buy something just because so and so has them!
Realy an amazing review
Awsome review. I've never seen one like it
Dang song didn’t expect so much good information in this video. This is loaded with info!
Thank you my friend!
Thank you for the info
Thanks bro.. well-discussed
You are great. Good knowledge.
Great guide, would've helped if it included the prices. Liked the look of the Winning gloves, but don't think I'll be forking over £300 any time soon.
Now I know what to buy next thanks to you
Great vídeo thanks For The información saludos de México
Thx for the info✨
Very cool video, super informative. awsum
thanks so much for this dude
I currently have the Hayabusa T3s. Still waiting for my Cleto Reyes gloves to come in. The Hayabusas are the closest to Winnings when it comes to protection, but I was surprised to see how amazing the wrist support was in comparison to that of the Winnings.
I wanted to switch to Cletos because the hayabusas were so protective that I wanted to feel more feedback when hitting the heavy bag.
Reyes will for sure give you the feedback you want! I personally think Hayabusa t3s are way better than winnings
Just got in my Cletos! These gloves are built so well, that the thumb hurts lile a bitch. It helps to shove a sock inside the thumb part to loosen it. by far my favorite gloves so far!
@@SCabanlitProductions Cleto's for bag work is like Air Maxes for running my guy.
@@colterlee2098???
@@jaxtonrobinson4181basically what i heard is the cleto’s are not ideal bag gloves
I just love the thumb shape on grants. But winning is my favorite.
This was cool thanks for the video 👌
Great video!!!
Great work
I have a Venum gloves, will strart my training on Monday!
Dude this video is awesome
Excellent overview, thank you. I have a pair of Hayabusa T3's, have been using them for 2-3 years, and I really like them - multi-layer padding, comfortable and easy on the hands, great wrist support. I'm thinking of getting a pair of Winning but it sounds like the two are very similar. Between the two, and without regard for the huge price difference, which do you prefer?
cant't go wrong with hayabusa
Please do it about the shin guards your work is really good, shou out from argentina muy buen trabajo
Title gloves are so underrated they last so long and don’t fade and are very comfortable
I like them but as a punchers gloves I don’t see them lasting.
Hey man cool video , you explained every glove very detailed, I just have a question what kind of glove is the everlast elite ?
I would for sure say it would be a defensive glove because of how stiff the padding is and how big the glove itself is. It's so interesting because it has an extremely flat punching surface compared to others but the thickness of the padding is at least 3 inches. It's also very wide which makes me think it is a defensive glove. However the fight glove version from what I understand is 100 percent a punchers glove. So Everlast really through a whirl on the Elites. For sure my favorite glove released by them.
Utica! I live in Sherrill. Keep up the great work.
That is so cool!
Great breakdown. I liked the video and checked out the channel. I decided to subscribe.
Great infos
That was a good review. Thank you for posting. It would also be helpful to know which gloves have smaller and larger hand compartments and if the gloves are on weight. I wear a size large winter glove (US) and although I don't have heavyweight mitts I find many 16 oz gloves to be too small.
So that would be more of an issue of brand when it comes to any form of hand compartment size. A company like Reyes has roomy hand compartments, Everlast has tighter hand compartments, WInning is a form fit, Twins Special is tiny as is Fairtex, Top King. All of these companies make gloves specific ways. Which company 16 oz do you use?
@@combat_corp - thank you for your response. I tried the Reyes 16 oz velcro and loved the hand compartment which was a perfect fit. I also liked the feedback and quality of the glove but the long sleeve for the forearm was too tight to the point I couldn't turn my punches over with the velcro open as much as it could go (my forearms aren't that large btw). Maybe it was just that pair of gloves? The 16 oz Rival RS1 lace up fits but is still a little small. For reference I'm 6 ft tall, 180lbs. Would love to find a Cleto style glove that's comfortable. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
@@mtmatt6111 ive owned a few pairs of cletos but never had that feeling regarding the long/tight wrist supports....interesting. i don't remember if he mentioned top boxer gloves in this vid. I think they are the gold Infinity Gauntlet gloves by his right arm. That company is owned by a young guy out of Pakistan who apparently makes great stuff. You could tell him exactly what you need and they could be custom made to your specs. You can choose padding type, density and thickness. Type of wrist supports... everything. It should only cost the same as a pair of Cletos off the shelf, too. I plan on getting a pair from him in the future.
So what would you recommend for a bag and mitt glove? Something that has a little bit of protection but still gives you a little bit of feedback and durability?
Nice video. Very helpful! But any ideas about types or brands of gloves for bigger hands? My fingertips are touching the end of the pocket in my 14oz Windys. I just hit the bag basically. Maybe light sparring with friends. Thanks again for the video.
Hey man awesome video! I'm looking for 12 oz mexican style gloves and 16 oz defensive glove. Here in the netherlands the everlast mx isn't available and the cleto reyes are a tad bit expensive for me. You know about any alternatives on the market? Again thanks for the info really learned something here
amazing video. I just started in the sport and got some hayabuza S4 (16oz) thinking essentially into protection. But i find them a little bit big, heavy and stiff. Wich size would you recommend ? or brand in that case. The reyes looks pretty confortable but i don't wanna get any injury.
what do you think about Reyes Extra Padding version instead of Grant? Do you think Reyes can deliver both defensive and punchers purpose?
I love your videos! Thanks for sharing this info! So ... What's your pick between Cletus or grant? I'm missing grant in my collection. Subscribed !
Solid content 👌
I have the Everlast Powerlock gloves and after 2 months of use I can say that they are incredibly poor when it comes to durability. the padding has worn out tremendously. they feel great, but they are not durable. In my case or opinion atleast. I really wanna try out cleto Reyes. Great video btw!
The newer ones last longer. I had a pair for 1 year and they are only slightly worn and I am a heavy hitter.
Thats anything everlast lol
Follow up they ripped open on the heavybag.
@@nicholasneyhart396 are you talking about the Everlast powerlock 2? How have they held up for u?
@@daviessofast Yes I was, I had a thumbless pair that ripped at the seam on the thumb and the padding crumbled at the knuckles.
