This is a great episode. Amazing to be an original Groundling and original SNL, that's a nice resume. She does great accents!
Laraine was amazingly funny on SNL. Great interview.
This podcast has brought me so much joy and laughter, thank you Dana and thank you David so much, love you
This interview was an absolute treat!!
In my day, we didn't complain about "Saturday Night Live" was in the '90s, we complained about how good it was in the '70s. That's the way it was, and we liked it!
"Your mama sews socks that smell!!"-Exorcist skit.
😂
I was 15 in 75 and totally smitten by Larraine Newman
Yeah, same here. I feel your pain.
Omg she looks awesome!!!!!😂

Terrific show, probably especially for those of us who came home as teenagers late Saturday night and turned on the tv to discover SNL. That first season killed.
Whatever you nrrd!
SO brilliant I feel like I never see her so it's always a big deal when she pops up Laramie rocks 💜
Laraine Newman was spectacular on "SNL"-I remember her as Connie Conehead & Sherry the Valley Girl.
That's Not Funny That's Sick is one of the greatest comedy albums ever.
When he said "like predator" I laughed so damn hard.
I loved Laraine in Metalocalypse.
you should interview Garret Morris, but do the interview for the hard of hearing!
😂 Yelling!! Yes!

IT'S A BRILLIANT IDEA!!!
It’s been my experience that Laraine got her valley girl from Kam Nelson who was on a teen Dance show 9th Street West with KHJ disc jockey Sam Nelson. Kam worked as a representative of Van DeKamps, who sponsored the show. Kam spoke like the Valley girl! She was blonde and wore light pink lipstick. Laraine used to make fun of her.
I take solace in the fact that ill never be more crazy than dan akroyd
I think Arby's is derived from the initials of the two guys who founded it. Coincidence it also stands for roast beef. At least that's the legend.
And it's a pirates favorite Fast Food.
Speaking of "once you leave, you can never come back", I immediately thought of Chris Parnell, who was let go and then rehired. I'd like to hear Dana and David do an interview with Parnell. I think he'd be a great guest.
The Christopher Lee episode led to "The Thing that Wouldn't Leave" emtering my familiy's lexicon.
The sound is called vocal fry now
She was good on SNL.
You're that clever shark aren't you? 😉
Mmm... Love that Bass...
Harry Shearer was in TheRight Stuff. So was Randy Quaid's brother..
Dana has evolved into The Master Thespian
Gail Matthius did a Valley girl during the 1980 season.
fur shur
She is so much better looking with age.
ARBY’S. America’s Roast Beef, Yes Sir
Laraine is a Zappa fan. I would pay to hear her talk about his two SNL appearances in super detail… totally
I started into puberty (I was 5-10) while Laraine was on SNL and she was my favorite cast member at the time. Let's not talk about why.
@givebirth01 He got the stirrings while Laraine was doing her SNL run.
Let's all take a moment and remember Laraine and Glida sliding down Buck Henry in pyjamas.
@@badad0166 Buck was a weird guy in ways.
Laraine Newman, still sexy after all these years.
Arby’s is not named for their signature sandwich. They are named after their founders, from the wiki: They wanted to call their restaurants "Big Tex", but that name was already used by an Akron business. Instead, they chose the name "Arby's," a phonetic pronunciation of the letters R and B, short for "Raffel brothers".[17][18][19]
I love me some Arby’s; they have the meats. I like their Marketfresh chicken salad, it’s a seasonal sandwich 😉
Is there any new content? These are old.
Great shuuu
Laraine didn't appear in the Coneheads movie. They had to use someone else as the daughter.
Actually, Laraine was in the Coneheads movie. Her character was Laarta, Prymaat's sister, Marlax's wife and Connie's aunt.
Unfortunately Age was a factor for playing a teenager. Yes, She did a cameo in there
Donut Rooter.
I can’t remember if they touched on it when they talked with Jim Belushi, I know David Spade told the story about the Belushi pants under the Farley pants, but did they conjecture that the pants Farley found could’ve been Jim’s rather than John’s? Or at least a mix of both?
I love you guys but let up on Rooney. He truly was an icon in his day who could sing, dance and act. He was one of the top stars of his day,if not the very top male star.
The Not Ready for Prime Time Players.
Laraine's always been schwingworthy
Newman finally gets to respond to her first question and Carvey cuts her off before she can even get one sentence. He is REALLY bad about that in every one of these interviews. He can't let anyone say anything without turning it back to himself. He's either a raging egomaniac or incredibly nervous and insecure. Either way, it makes these interviews hard to listen to
yes, thank you I thought I was the only one. Spade adds nothing and can only tell Farley stories. If I hear Dana mention that he lived with Lorne , which was weird, and met McCartney. Let the guests talk.
They’re both not very good at the interview thing, but it some how adds to the entertainment for me. I’m a huge fan of David and Dana and SNL though, but yeah, that’s who this is for I guess, less critical fan boys and girls.
@@zltinsf Spade is much better. He hangs back a little more, and he tried to steer things back to the guest more frequently. Carvey just lets the guest get one sentence out and then he jumps in and starts talking about himself.
Yeah, I think this podcast series is a real opportunity for Carvey to up his game and sometimes, less is more. Both hosts job is to make the guest as interesting as possible. Figure out what's great about the guest, and ask questions that allow the guest to shine.
Love the show but please, please. please can you let the guest talk.
Arbee's does not come from roast beef. You could look it up.
I've listened to a few of these and it's getting harder and harder; both Dana and Spade interrupt their guests and talk over them telling the same stories over and over again. Spade adds nothing to the proceedings always trying to score with a joke and Dana often comes across as a windbag. They need to just let their guests talk. Some guests are better than others and some need help but the constant interruptions need to stop.
I guess in a country of 320 million someone will find you funny.
More Laraine, less bobbsie twins. Let the lady talk ffs.
