    I wish Lorne Michaels would write a book.
    I can't even comprehend all of the events and people that he could tell some great (but not hurtful) stories about.
    Mainly I would love to have all of his feelings about the greats that he helped launch.

      I like to read. Besides a book can cover so much more and as a bonus Dana can do the book on tape with his Lorne Michael impression.

      @chrism.ledoux1590 imagine it's a story about his father being at work and not in his life😂. So instead of talking about the famous people in a positive way, he couples them with his own negative projected view of each character.
      First scene... Lorne son showing a photo from a baseball game, then a picture of Lorne and Eddy Murphy and says something like... "I like to keep these pictures together because this was the same day. He missed my game to hang with eddy. I'm sure Eddie's a bad father too" 😅

    I had to rewind that part several times when Lorne says “you don’t know why it catches on but then you run it into the ground” that was the funniest thing I’ve heard in awhile. He voiced what I was always thinking back then “why do people think this is so funny?” lol even though I was one of them

    I was in high school when SNL started and have watched every season forward. I do agree with Loren on how we judge the “best cast” on when we were in HS. But I truly love almost every season. Each year or group of years the cast add their own unique talents in different ways. I’m not sure SNL should go on after Loren (kind of like trying to replace Alex Trebek-you can but it’s never quite the same). 🥰

      I'd just graduated the previous June. My mom started watching from the beginning and kept up with me for about the first five years. I've continued yes, through the non- Lorne years to the current. I've raised my now twenty somethings daughters, on SNL. Love this show! 💖

      I understand the best class thing but I love all the cast members. I remember Dana and David when I was little and I think my high school days were the Will Ferrell days. I'm like you I love all of them.
      It makes me mad when people say oh the show sucks now and it's too political but it's been the same the whole time. It's just the people themselves that have changed so they don't like the same things. I'll never get why people are so negative about it. SNL hasn't been funny in years I've heard that so much. That's just not true I laugh every show. Not every sketch is good I agree. I've watched a ton of old shows that are so dull and not funny but that's just how the show is. Each sketch is its own thing with its own audience it's aimed at. Not liking something is a you problem, not an SNL problem.

      I started watching in the 7th grade (1978) after hearing a Senior talking with the lunch lady about the show. And I watched the reruns of the previous seasons. Bill Murray and Gilda Radner were my favorites. But boy was 80/81 awful. So boring, as well as sad to see. But then Eddie Murphy rescued the show. My favorite cast was the years with Hartman, Loviitz, Nealon, Myers, Carvey, Sandler, Spade ,Farley, Ferrell Shannon (1987 - 99?)

    • @christheghostwriter
      @christheghostwriter Рік тому +1

      It's also casts that were popular. Every time a new cast starts, millions of people run to social media to say that SNL hasn't been funny since (insert favorite SNL cast members names' here) were in the cast. Lorne Michaels nailed it: people don't realize that they liked their preferred cast the best because that's when they were young, like high school or college ages. The show remains consistently funny nearly 5 decades on. I just watched the most recent episode, and all the new cast members got featured moments. It was a surprisingly funny episode, and the last two sketches in particular showed a kind of energy that bodes well for the coming season

    Not somebody so young but someone who's better writer and I don't know if you don't you don't need a performer but someone who wrote someone who might who has produced I would say Seth Meyers might be a good candidate for filling in for Lauren Michaels.
    The female side you could go with Tina Fey she's written produced directed
    Well if you did pick Seth Meyers you'd have to try to find a replacement for Seth on his current show and I think Liza Schlesinger would be a perfect slot in for that, she can definitely do a news bit and have her own opinion and not be afraid to express it, you know you're going to hear about her boobs at least once a month, and boobs are always funny. But I haven't really strong punch that she would know how to listen in interviews. Yeah she's she's wacky during the pandemic cooking show with her husband/boyfriend I think it's her husband I don't know, but you also know she can be serious as well she had to be. Why not bring a little bit more levity a little bit more silliness from a female perspective in a late night show but she really we really haven't had that yet, a major Network.

      I think most surprising choice to take over for Lauren would be Bill hader he doesn't have a stand-up act so it's not like it's going to put a damper on his other career things that he does like films so I think maybe but maybe the job of producing SNL is quite all-consuming and it would be tough to do films but you do have that summer break
