    ● Drink water to help with metabolism and weight loss. Cold water, in particular, can increase metabolism by 30% within an hour of consumption.
    ● Drink green tea three times a day to help reduce visceral fat and improve metabolic parameters. The optimal brewing temperature for green tea is 175-180°F (79-82°C).
    ● Eat carrots, specifically three medium-sized carrots a day, to reduce the risk of developing metabolic syndrome by 58%.
    ● Use loose-leaf tea instead of tea bags to get more polyphenols, which can help fight visceral fat.
    ● Avoid adding dairy milk to tea, as it can trap polyphenols and prevent their absorption.
    ● Let tea cool down before drinking it, as hot tea can increase the risk of esophageal cancer.
    ● Don't overeat, as it can lead to an accumulation of visceral fat.
    ● Consider incorporating Mediterranean-style foods into your diet to optimize metabolism and fight harmful body fat.
    ● Don't throw away carrot tops, as they have twice the health benefits of the orange part of the carrot.
    ● Avoid drinking soda, even diet soda, as it can damage the gut microbiome and lead to weight gain.
Several foods that can help burn down visceral fat:
    ● Green tea: Drinking three cups of green tea a day can help reduce visceral fat and improve metabolic parameters.
    ● Legumes: Eating legumes, such as beans, lentils, and chickpeas, can help reduce visceral fat and improve metabolic control.
    ● Brassica vegetables: Eating Brassica vegetables, such as broccoli, cauliflower, and kale, can help activate brown fat and burn down visceral fat.
    ● Carrots: Eating three medium-sized carrots a day can reduce the risk of developing metabolic syndrome by 58% and help turn on thermogenesis.
    ● Broccoli sprouts: Eating a third of a cup of fresh broccoli sprouts a day can help reduce body mass by 6% and lower blood markers of inflammation.
In summary, drink green tea and eat a variety of vegetables (400-500g per day).

Dr. Li, you have reinforced many of my own nutritional beliefs and practices, and I continue to learn from you. I have long been doing nighttime fasting, have eliminated processed foods and sodas, and cook everything from scratch. People need to realize that living and eating simply is not complicated or expensive - it's just the opposite. I am nearing 70 years old, and my Dr told me I have the metabolic panel of a 20 year old! Numbers don't lie.

With a high-speed blender, cooked carrot tops can be added to spinach, kale, beet greens, turnip greens, etc. Make a silky puree with Indian spices, fat of choice, and it makes a very delicious saag, with or without paneer. A regular blender at highest speed works well but might need to be strained afterwards for tougher, fibrous bits that don't chew well.

My weight prior to the hysterectomy was perfect 137, jumped to 177, without charging any aspect of my life.
I have type 2 diabetes for the last 7 years.😢 I have battled to lose 20 pounds recently, but still have another 20 to go.

My blood pressure always goes up drinking coffee since I’ve got Older. I had cancer and was very bad off. They wanted me to do chemotherapy and radiation. But because I was so bad off I decided to not do there recommended therapy. I went to Carolina’s and was treated naturally. thank goodness I survived. The doctor’s were up set with me but I still decided to go this way. That was 21 years ago, I’m still here cancer free, but one thing I couldn’t do on the program I couldn’t drink coffee cause it puts your body in an acid state. But I suppose in a healthy body it’s ok. But since I’m older, (74) coffee raises my blood pressure. I enjoy your video’s very informative, but some things for me don’t work. But none of us knows whether conventional medicine or natural remedies are going to work, we just hope for the best,

Dr. Li,..YOU ARE AWESOME!! I listened all the way through your wonderful presentation, which both confirmed my known facts and ADDED MORE to my mental store-house of knowledge! One fact you alluded to but didn't fully define was the maximum temperature which a person should never exceed when consuming either liquids or foods: 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Higher than 145 degrees and you will be promoting esophageal cancer! Another fact that I chuckled about was your admonition against using tea bags, due to the lack of quality of the tea leaves that are contained therein!! When an elderly English gentleman, who was like a father to me, visited my home in America, and noticed that when I was serving tea to him, he glanced at the tea bags and said, "Rubbish!!" LOL!! He said EXACTLY the same thing that you mentioned, Dr Li: Tea leaves in a bag, as he put it, "were simply nothing more than sweepings from the floor!!" LOL!! Needless to say,.. I went shopping that very day for loose tea leaves!!...... I thank you, Dr. Li, for ALL your many informative videos that promotes health!! You are AWESOME!!

Hello Dr. Li- I have been watching a lot of your videos. The one where you suggested that we use loose tea instead of tea bags because there could be plastics in the actual tea bag. I checked mine and some of of the companies , like Teecchino, state clearly that their tea bags are biodegradable and contain no plastics. Yes, I will use loose tea when possible, but I urge people to check the company. I will cut some of my questionable tea bags open and place the tea into a tea ball. Your videos have helped me to make healthy choices in my diet. Thank you.

I think I'm tofi fat now, I weight 120 lbs and it's the most I've weighted in a long time but it's because I had too much stress so I eat right before bed (often because I forgot to eat earlier). It's not a lot of food but the timing of it, stress and lack of burned off energy is what really caused me issues and quite a lot of belly flab. My diet largely hasn't changed but stress and timing did quite a number on me. I just struggle to have energy for most things but I'm trying to see a therapist and I expect at least some aspects of my stress to end here soon.

Wondering if visceral fat can have a genetic disposition? My mom who weighed 99lbs, 5'2, looked healthy, a bird eater, very active and yet, you'd never suspect in a million years she had not only a lot of visceral fat but she also had to get a triple bypass for clog arteries. She was definitely skinny fat.

I only drink organic green tea and maybe one cup of black coffee a day. I put a little cinnamon in my pot of green tea, sometimes cloves. Basically you can use any spice or herb to flavour your green tea. They all have medicinal benefits.

Amazing video. Does this include burning fat from liver? I did some research and it said radish sprouts have the same sulphrane as broccoli sprouts. I find them so much easier to incorporate into salads and even eat alone. Delish. I dont care for broccoli sprouts. Can you confirm this? I think this is true for some other sprouts too.

Today I received an interesting comment based on my earlier question regarding Coffee. Can you explain the increased use of unisex incontinece pads and increased coffee consumption. Apart from its duirectic properties its healing properties come into there own as an enema and not as a recreational drink see
Gerson Therapy for more info on how coffee as an enema helps the gallbladder and liver vs the effects of drinking it...
Cold water and in particular ice has a jarring effect on the large Intestine when taken internally compared to increased metabolic activity as found with the Wim Hofman method of immersing the body in cold water. The one is not the other...

I have heard on other videos by Dr LI and others that light roast organic is best. More nutrients and less pesticides. Not sure about brands.

    • @NLR759

It’s not refined sugar in carrots. The sugar in carrots is wrapped in fibre, so it doesn’t spike your blood sugar.

How you have described our reaction to fat, while true, is actually a cognitive emotional programme, which is media generated. We should question this attitude to fat.
