● Drink water to help with metabolism and weight loss. Cold water, in particular, can increase metabolism by 30% within an hour of consumption. ● Drink green tea three times a day to help reduce visceral fat and improve metabolic parameters. The optimal brewing temperature for green tea is 175-180°F (79-82°C). ● Eat carrots, specifically three medium-sized carrots a day, to reduce the risk of developing metabolic syndrome by 58%. ● Use loose-leaf tea instead of tea bags to get more polyphenols, which can help fight visceral fat. ● Avoid adding dairy milk to tea, as it can trap polyphenols and prevent their absorption. ● Let tea cool down before drinking it, as hot tea can increase the risk of esophageal cancer. ● Don't overeat, as it can lead to an accumulation of visceral fat. ● Consider incorporating Mediterranean-style foods into your diet to optimize metabolism and fight harmful body fat. ● Don't throw away carrot tops, as they have twice the health benefits of the orange part of the carrot. ● Avoid drinking soda, even diet soda, as it can damage the gut microbiome and lead to weight gain. Several foods that can help burn down visceral fat: ● Green tea: Drinking three cups of green tea a day can help reduce visceral fat and improve metabolic parameters. ● Legumes: Eating legumes, such as beans, lentils, and chickpeas, can help reduce visceral fat and improve metabolic control. ● Brassica vegetables: Eating Brassica vegetables, such as broccoli, cauliflower, and kale, can help activate brown fat and burn down visceral fat. ● Carrots: Eating three medium-sized carrots a day can reduce the risk of developing metabolic syndrome by 58% and help turn on thermogenesis. ● Broccoli sprouts: Eating a third of a cup of fresh broccoli sprouts a day can help reduce body mass by 6% and lower blood markers of inflammation. In summary, drink green tea and eat a variety of vegetables (400-500g per day).
Dr. Li, you have reinforced many of my own nutritional beliefs and practices, and I continue to learn from you. I have long been doing nighttime fasting, have eliminated processed foods and sodas, and cook everything from scratch. People need to realize that living and eating simply is not complicated or expensive - it's just the opposite. I am nearing 70 years old, and my Dr told me I have the metabolic panel of a 20 year old! Numbers don't lie.
He says: coffee, tea, water, brassica especially broccoli sprouts, carrot tops, and beans will lower visceral fat. The transcript changed the word sulforophane into Soulful and Fame!
Moringa is another champion of sulforaphane (moringin+myrosinase=i isothiocyanates=sulforaphane ) nearly as much as the broc sports; I’m sure u guys have listened to Rhonda Patrick/dr jed fahey.

Wow! Dr. Li, you have just changed my life!!!!! I have complained to all my doctors including an endocrinologist that I have become skinny fat in the past year and have always been in great shape. All my doctors told me to eat right and exercise to lose weight. Already knew that! I have learned so much from this video. Everything you talk about makes sense!!! I am a huge fan now!
With a high-speed blender, cooked carrot tops can be added to spinach, kale, beet greens, turnip greens, etc. Make a silky puree with Indian spices, fat of choice, and it makes a very delicious saag, with or without paneer. A regular blender at highest speed works well but might need to be strained afterwards for tougher, fibrous bits that don't chew well.
So glad I discovered Dr Li. I have always been interested in eating healthy but still learn a lot by watching his approach to teach you new insights about using food to stay healthy
Hi Dr. Li: I would like to see a summary at the end of your video because there is lots of information, and older people can't recall everything. Thank you.
If you are insulin resistant and are struggling to lose weight, having coffee, tea, water and vegetables won't do much for you, if you don't dramatically reduce the amount of carbohydrates in your diet.
How do you avoid microplastics? Yogurt comes in plastic containers, the majority of foods come in plastic, when I go to the buy vegetables there are plastic bags to put the food in, even nuts come in plastic bags. How do you avoid microplastic?
Dr li, I had a hysterectomy 20 years ago and gained 40 pounds in 7 months. My weight prior to the hysterectomy was perfect 137, jumped to 177, without charging any aspect of my life. I have type 2 diabetes for the last 7 years.😢 I have battled to lose 20 pounds recently, but still have another 20 to go. Hormonal weight gain sucks, best way to lose Hormonal weight, which I gained only in my belly and upper arms.

Hello Dr. Li- I have been watching a lot of your videos. The one where you suggested that we use loose tea instead of tea bags because there could be plastics in the actual tea bag. I checked mine and some of of the companies , like Teecchino, state clearly that their tea bags are biodegradable and contain no plastics. Yes, I will use loose tea when possible, but I urge people to check the company. I will cut some of my questionable tea bags open and place the tea into a tea ball. Your videos have helped me to make healthy choices in my diet. Thank you.

there are carbs in coffee which i didnt realise. i have also been drinking black coffee with a healthy style diet for about a year, doesnt seem to do anything. must have been a small observational study?
I think I'm tofi fat now, I weight 120 lbs and it's the most I've weighted in a long time but it's because I had too much stress so I eat right before bed (often because I forgot to eat earlier). It's not a lot of food but the timing of it, stress and lack of burned off energy is what really caused me issues and quite a lot of belly flab. My diet largely hasn't changed but stress and timing did quite a number on me. I just struggle to have energy for most things but I'm trying to see a therapist and I expect at least some aspects of my stress to end here soon.
Wondering if visceral fat can have a genetic disposition? My mom who weighed 99lbs, 5'2, looked healthy, a bird eater, very active and yet, you'd never suspect in a million years she had not only a lot of visceral fat but she also had to get a triple bypass for clog arteries. She was definitely skinny fat.
I only drink organic green tea and maybe one cup of black coffee a day. I put a little cinnamon in my pot of green tea, sometimes cloves. Basically you can use any spice or herb to flavour your green tea. They all have medicinal benefits.
Amazing video. Does this include burning fat from liver? I did some research and it said radish sprouts have the same sulphrane as broccoli sprouts. I find them so much easier to incorporate into salads and even eat alone. Delish. I dont care for broccoli sprouts. Can you confirm this? I think this is true for some other sprouts too.
When I drink coffee in the morning I get sleepy. My husband and I joke about it and call it my coffee nap. Does this happen to anyone else? Wondering why this happens.
Today I received an interesting comment based on my earlier question regarding Coffee. Can you explain the increased use of unisex incontinece pads and increased coffee consumption. Apart from its duirectic properties its healing properties come into there own as an enema and not as a recreational drink see Gerson Therapy for more info on how coffee as an enema helps the gallbladder and liver vs the effects of drinking it... Cold water and in particular ice has a jarring effect on the large Intestine when taken internally compared to increased metabolic activity as found with the Wim Hofman method of immersing the body in cold water. The one is not the other...
How you have described our reaction to fat, while true, is actually a cognitive emotional programme, which is media generated. We should question this attitude to fat.

Hi Dr, Li, I love pinto beans but I'm pre diabetic and they are loaded with carbs but also high in fiber should I eat them? Thanks!
So much information 😮, i really luff it
Thank u 💓 love to listen to u. I have learned alot from u.
I will do that. Thank you!
When I drink coffee in the morning I get sleepy. My husband and I joke about it and call it my coffee nap. Does this happen to anyone else? Wondering why this happens.
Do you drink it black without any creamer or sweetener?
Sleepiness sounds like added sugar to me
Today I received an interesting comment based on my earlier question regarding Coffee. Can you explain the increased use of unisex incontinece pads and increased coffee consumption. Apart from its duirectic properties its healing properties come into there own as an enema and not as a recreational drink see
Gerson Therapy for more info on how coffee as an enema helps the gallbladder and liver vs the effects of drinking it...
Cold water and in particular ice has a jarring effect on the large Intestine when taken internally compared to increased metabolic activity as found with the Wim Hofman method of immersing the body in cold water. The one is not the other...
I'm assuming you're speaking of black coffee only. Do you have recommendations on the best brands of coffee as well as the worst?
I have heard on other videos by Dr LI and others that light roast organic is best. More nutrients and less pesticides. Not sure about brands.
hi Doctor, did they give them anything else to eat, besides the 1 cup of beans ? any tea, coffee, fruits?
May you share the best efficient way to shed white fat.. Please. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
What do you think about Keurig coffee? Is it safe or should I cold press?
By changing my diet because I'm following you, can non alcoholic fatty liver be reversed and I am not overweight??
What about green jasmine tea? Does it really matter as long it’s green tea?
I absolutely can’t acquire the taste for green tea. Will green tea supplements do the same thing?
Don't carrots have a lot of sugar? I would think that wouldn't help you lose weight.
It’s not refined sugar in carrots. The sugar in carrots is wrapped in fibre, so it doesn’t spike your blood sugar.
Thank you Dr. Li!
I am curious as to the Dr.’s concerns with Stevia - pure Stevia either green or purified white powder, not the commercial brands with additives.

What about the benefits of Rooibos tea from South Africa?
Dr. Li what about we who get jittery when we drink coffee?
Hi Dr. Li 💙💙💙😁😁
How you have described our reaction to fat, while true, is actually a cognitive emotional programme, which is media generated. We should question this attitude to fat.
