Thanks! I'm glad they've been helpful! I'm always looking for ideas for new ones to add, so if there's any useful Factorio tricks you think I should cover, please let me know!
Thank you 🙂 I'll try to keep a reasonably regular Friday video - it won't always be a Tutorio, but it should be something interesting and different from the let's plays.
Your tutorials are genuinely the BEST out of all the Factorio tutorials out there. Genuinely appreciate how you go through it step by step, explain what you're doing in a concise yet understandable way, and show the most important or interesting things you can do with them, without going to the extreme examples that 99% of players would never need. I know these are both tall orders, but I was wondering if you would be willing to make tutorials on making Bus bases (i.e. having belts of resources like iron/copper/steel/circuits, then using splitters to siphon off those buses to various factories); As well as making Malls to be able to craft everything a player may need like belts/Inserters/furnaces/etc., and how they may be developed at the start vs mid vs late game, with a focus around *how* to approach them if someone were needing to adapt for modded products etc. Obviously there's zero pressure to do any of the above, I just wanted to ask because I think you'd be able to provide the absolute best possible tutorials for these things, that many beginners may not know how to do. Regardless, appreciate the work you've put into your videos! Thank you for making the content you've done, as its personally helped me make MUCH better and more efficient factories to feed my cracktorio addiction c:
Thank you - that's really appreciated! I like to start off with a nice simple example and then work up to something bigger and more powerful after the basics are sorted. Even if you don't actually use the complex designs, hopefully they're interesting to see anyway! Buses and malls could be an interesting topic. Fairly basic, but it could be good to explain how and why. I'll add it to the list; I definitely want to make more tutorial type videos but the hardest part is coming up with a good idea! I imagine you've probably watched all the way through the "Tutorio" playlist, but if not, there's some interesting stuff in there!
Awesome! I'm glad it worked for you - they're fairly simple once you've got your head around them, but getting the initial understanding can be quite daunting 🙂
There is a forum post on the factorio forums breaking down intersections called "4-way intersections: Throughput and deadlocks [image heavy]". If anyone is looking for inspiration or a solution it was really helpful to me.
That does sound useful - possibly a little more advanced than this video's focus, but I was thinking I should make a sequel to it and talk about more advanced railway features. I'll take a look at it, thanks!
The game should really be more helpful in this regard. Your comment about the train stop being on the right-hand side of where the train arrives really helped me. Couldn't find this requirement anywhere.
Yeah, that's really important and easy to get wrong when you're a beginner! I know there's a tutorial in the game, but it was added after I already knew what I was doing, so I'm not very familiar with it! I'm glad I could help!
I was thinking of making a followup trains video, so that sounds like a good idea. Is there anything specific you'd like me to cover? This video talks about most of how to get trains up and running, so I don't think there's a huge amount missing for the basics.
@@LaurencePlays how to make a train base and the rule when it comes to it like how to keep through put high or what size trains to have for different Resources or how many rail lanes will be needed and how to make loading and unloading stations or how to improve train through put. ps sorry for not responding sooner
I hope this helps me with the issue I'm having with mine currently. Do you have a discord or somewhere I can possibly send a pic to see if you notice why I have issues?
@@LaurencePlays thanks. It didn't work. But I managed to get another method working - your video helped a lot with the guidance of signals. I will check it out and look forward to joining. Ty for the reply!
I just found your channel. Your tutorials are so straight forward and helpful. Thank you!

After binging all the tutorials yesterday I was very glad to see a new one. Keep up the great content!

I was waiting for this! Factorio is opened here, i will finish the video and start making my stations.
Good luck! I hope it makes everything nice and clear for you 🙂

this is so useful, now me and my friends that didnt really understand how signals worked can build crazy train networks!

Fun fact: blocks are not just a Factorio concept, they are based on how rail signals are used IRL
A good point! I think I've come across that before, although I'll admit it didn't occur to me while I was writing this episode. 🙂

@@LaurencePlaysI didn’t see it in the demo tutorial but maybe it’s in the full-game tutorial. Now I’m an expert 😂. Thanks again
@@DUDEMIKE8 My pleasure! And now we get to learn everything again because 2.0 has released 😀 I'm very excited, and will be streaming it this evening.
My only criticism is that the UA-cam algorithm didn't lead me to your channel before all the other crappy tutorials.
I need another 200000 subscribers so UA-cam mentions me first 😁
good video but can you make a video on how to make a factory fulle run by trains
Really good ideia, I agree!

Fingers crossed for you! Yes, there is a Discord; it's linked from the channel page, although perhaps I should put links in the video descriptions!

@@aaronh678 I'm glad to hear it helped 🙂 There's always another way to do things in Factorio, that's half the fun!
