@@jojozxc1234 Yeah, one time in arena, I stopped a Frankish player just in time from completing a caste, another time, a Persian quickwalled his builders, but a counter-attack with rams did for the castle and penetrated deep into his base, though two more attacks were necessary.
Poor red. I can relate a lot. I usually play britons and goths just scare me. If i win usually is because of a bold move like forward castle, laming, tower rush or full champion spam. If i lose usually is because of the absurd goth infantry swarm

I remember coming back to AoE after a few years, discovering the wonder of Mangudai balls; just turtled until I had a ton of Mangudai. I didn't know about Goths. Ended up licking my lips as I readied for a Mangudai push, a few Huskarl comes up, and suddenly I'm saying to myself "wait, wait, WAIT, these things aren't dying!"
Such an interesting game. - Red made a couple inadvisable decisions--archers vs. goths, castle vs. imp. - Both spent a lot of time getting upgrades before they had units. - Blue never made enough villagers. - Red never made enough army. Red could have won more fights and had more confidence if he just had a few more units on the field. Still, they did a lot of things right! Some areas of their game were better than mine. Just a few key errors.
I know it is kind of frowned upon, but one of the biggest things I would think that helps is always picking the same civ at first. When you constantly pick the same civ, it allows you to focus on build order because you are not focused on what this civ has in bonuses or army comp. You can not do it the other way and learn the civ's first, because you will always have to focus on both and it will take longer. The problem is not can you learn it all, everyone can, it's more about do you know yourself enough to know how you learn so the game doesn't feel overwhelming; this is where people fail. As a person who writes a lot, do not try and learn the whole game at once, pick an area, focus and understand it, then the next thing will be easier, the next even easier. Last but not least, just keep playing, eventually your ear will get use to hearing a vil pop out every 25 secs, that you don't even have to focus on that anymore, your ear will do it for you, and you will get to the point where the game is reaction and not thinking. Turning the economy into blinking your eye's (just something you do without thinking) is the hardest part. Your ear is the biggest helper, there are so many sounds. Looking at the TC and you don't here any wood chopping sounds like a quiet base because all the wood chopping is so satisfying. IMO
Although it may work well, i dont find it much exciting.Trying different civs and maps is more fun to me and also helpful as you learn to adapt. I usually pick, just that i can think of strategy minute before, feels more comfortable. For what u mentioned - like mastering one civ, i suppose it should be some civ without strong eco bonuses like byzantines/spanish/goths/huns - it can really mislead you if you are just learning buildorders.
I just played the Goth's player yesterday on ranked arena. He was mongols though, kinda ironic. We had a conversation mid game where we shared our mutual fear for goths 11. We also talked about food in our respective countries. It was a fun quick game. I go by the name "Ray Ray" on DE. He unfortunately lost though, probably because he hadn't built up the eco behind it.
I love choosing goths on Hideout, actually I Pick them there Most of the time. (1350 elo) There are two Main strategies. 1. Against Archercivs: FC into Castle at Home and then start creating huskarls and Start attacking when you have around 6 huskarls. When the enemy goes infantry , make a forward Siege Workshop and add scorpions. 2. When the enemy is going knights, Go FC into two barracks and spam pikes. Then Go "hoang rush" that means go mangos and maybe scorpions and get some monks in the Forward. Damn goths are strong haha
I like to farm goths with my deutschritter after fast castle strategy. I simply farm some stone and turtle the shit out and then when my melee elite kicks in goths no chance.
Red was pretty silly. He just through it out the window by insisting on that corner. Should have scouted the other side of the base to try and get in that way.

I spectate random games fairly often and I'll agree that random team games are kind of crap. Everybody just booms until the one guy who knows what he's doing makes a push, usually in castle age, and then the whole opposing team crumbles.
Usually got wing position and getting double teamed while my teammates booms and build sim city, not moving inch until impoerial age. Or its like 4v4 and one of your team drops in first 5minutes... Yaaay

I have a recorded team game that might be worth calling a low/no ELO legend for one specific player lol. So many bizarre and highly, highly unusual actions in one game BY THE WINNER!
Yes people are really that afraid of the Goths. Almost every time I see huskarls, I lose. If they're coming from the barracks it's 100%. Only exception is if I'm Aztec in which case I laugh in Nahuatl and say "Nezahualcoyotl sends his regards" while my champs and jags reap a grim harvest of angsty, eyeliner-stained tears.
Japanese have all the answers to goths - champion, hand canoneer, even samurai is good (they got bonus against all unique). however its hard to keep up with their speedy production.
I love playing against them. Yesterday I did an 580-150 k/d in Arena, I`m sure he didn`t understand why my shiny Elite Teutonic Knights just don`t die, I moved them to his barracks, the huskrals, spawned and dies :D He tried even heavy cav archers to stop it :D

Then making archers and walling his stone in. I really hate that match. I lost a ton of games just because i let goths boom without preassure
As a low elo scrub i have to admit i have done this multiple times and everytime i do it i see how many vills how many resources and then quit for a month until i muster up the mental courage to face myself in game again. My own worst enemy.
How to get better at age: Watch high level games and tournaments to understand the basic principles of play. (Hera has some overanalysed games I think) Learn 2 or three simple build orders, usually scouts, archers and FC. And when to use them Play ladder games. Watch your own recs to understand why you lost. Play with a friend or training partner so you can analyse and review games and understand what players playing against you are thinking. Spend less time playing team games, even if team games are less stressful and more fun they're not nearly as helpful for improving.
I feel like every time I play a team game one team is simply better across the board than the other, which either means I can do a greedy boom from pocket and not suffer the consequences before "carrying" late game, or else that I spend my entire time putting out fires on the flanks and the other team gets to boom uncontested, and there's not much of a struggle either way. And if I'm flank and we're outmatched, I'll put some early pressure on the enemy flank before getting 3v1'd and dying, while pleading in vain for my pocket to do something besides hunting relics to boost the Lithuanian knights he's not actually using anyways.
I feel like you find better LEL games in ranked. Too many noob only lobbies end up with experienced or semi-experienced players joining for an easy stomp.
Lmfao,me and my wacky strategies COULD STILL take the red side after he surrendered and from this point forward WIN the game 2 winning compositions from me on this game specifically would be: Long bows(all range upgrades done fastest) + trebs up on imp Or castle age rams and light cav/pike

I don't think new players should random unless they know a build order for the Chinese and another build order for every other civilization. If you end up with the Chinese it really messes with your build order. If you're not ready for it, it can be pretty detrimental. The first time I started randoming I would lose every game I got the Chinese just because I wasn't ready for the extra villagers. I think they want others if that has an extra villager a single one but I don't think it's a detrimental or is unexpected as the Chinese having six of them and no food.

I'm a bit confused on what you call "low elo". From what I gathered from Spirit of the Law, apparently 1000 elo is basically the level of the AI in extreme and it's the "middle elo" but you consider 900 elo to be low tier ? Also I'm pretty sure a 900 elo player can consistently get a FC in 16min since I'm able to pull it off myself while I'm totally unable to beat the extreme AI (without early and permanent agression that is but that's the easy mode). So, what are the low/middle/high elo "marks" exactly ? I want to know more but I get mixed messages here and there.

Everybody gangsta till you recreate the night of sorrows on the goths
Japanese have all the answers to goths - champion, hand canoneer, even samurai is good (they got bonus against all unique). however its hard to keep up with their speedy production.
Fully relate to PLEASE DON'T CHOOSE GOTHS
I love playing against them. Yesterday I did an 580-150 k/d in Arena, I`m sure he didn`t understand why my shiny Elite Teutonic Knights just don`t die, I moved them to his barracks, the huskrals, spawned and dies :D He tried even heavy cav archers to stop it :D
@@petermari8299 Haha, the amount of games I've been rushed before I can wall up and get counters out is just ridiculous. Then the relentless spam of huskarls late game is so annoying! I guess that says a lot about my ELO though!
@@melissabury5702 Yeah they can be pain in...so there :D but that`s the good thing on Arena. Both are relaxed of rush and the Goth can think hahh, it`s my time to play the best and then "whhaaaaaaat" :D
Oh yeah missed the arena bit! I bet that's a dream they would just melt to any other civs late game!! Only play on Arabia really
I usually play britons. When i see goths is like my mind change completly. Start to play really serious, going scout rush as fast as posible, even laming boars. Then making archers and walling his stone in.
I really hate that match. I lost a ton of games just because i let goths boom without preassure
Double Blacksmith Strategy is my favourite strategy
Not nearly as effective as triple island ranges
6:50 Elo calculation for team games was messed up which lead to elo inflation. SotL did a video on this
ey finaly a new elo legends game this is one of my favorite series on youtube you should do a 300 elo game
As a low elo scrub i have to admit i have done this multiple times and everytime i do it i see how many vills how many resources and then quit for a month until i muster up the mental courage to face myself in game again. My own worst enemy.
teuton kinight : Am i a joke to you
How to get better at age:
Watch high level games and tournaments to understand the basic principles of play. (Hera has some overanalysed games I think)
Learn 2 or three simple build orders, usually scouts, archers and FC. And when to use them
Play ladder games.
Can confirm, 29C weather if you are acclimatised to the UK is death.
that name sounded familiar, so I checked my replays, and I have played against PLEASE DONT CHOOSE GOTH as well, it's a small world.
Its me, i m ogfline for a while. Wann ago again? ;)
@@karlmax6673 ahah, sure, my username is the same as here.
@@amaurythewarrior i think i remember you bro
"It's so hot in Germany" at 29C
Laughs in Australian
wow, resigned with absolutely ZERO pressure on his eco.
I feel like you find better LEL games in ranked. Too many noob only lobbies end up with experienced or semi-experienced players joining for an easy stomp.
Played against this goth guy about a week ago
U won?
@@karlmax6673 At this point, I don't remember. All I remember that it was a 4v4 black forest game in the custom queue
No air-conditioning is painful. Australia hits over 110 Fahrenheit and i have no air-conditioning.
Ah, a classic case of losing a whole army prompting a gg. Happens a lot at low elos, even I'm guilty of that myself...
This was over tho... He would stand a chance only if he didnt threw that castle and had some knights and archers at home
Please do low elo legends EVERY DAY
T90 how do i send you my saved game
Me watching as an almost always Goth player.
booo
LA County last week... 121 Fahrenheit
That's nothing. Some parts of northern California and Oregon were upwards of 600 F last week.
But it's a very dry heat.
I would encourage going random. You're gonna learn the civs a lot better and how to make your build order flexible.
I love watching Lo Elo Legends. My fear is I'll show up on here one day though... :(
Lol. Chat called it.
Lmfao,me and my wacky strategies COULD STILL take the red side after he surrendered and from this point forward WIN the game
2 winning compositions from me on this game specifically would be:
Long bows(all range upgrades done fastest) + trebs up on imp
Or castle age rams and light cav/pike
Constant 30°C+ here lmao
I PLAYED HIM LAST WEEK!!!
I lost...
You played blue or red? 👀
@@karlmax6673 I played blue, he was Vikings not Goths
this is why i dont even try ranked, i get put against someone at this elo and they crush me
The score difference is very misleading. Happened to me a few times as well where the opponent went imp and had half my eco but much higher score.
I just learn the default hotkeys lol
Man, all I want are noob team games, I'm tired of 1v1
I feel bad for red :(
T90 needs to cast a game where red actually wins now.
3 knights in that situation it's a gg for sure... not in low elo legends!!!
Lent end of liar part 2
I play ranked without a build order and only just started using hotkeys
29 degrees C is nothing
its the humidity that is the killer
The britons sheep bonus apply for other herd animals?
Low elo legend casting a low elo legend game!
BIG THROW
I use to check out, when I see Goths. I hate the spam, it's just OP
I’m wanting to get into Aoe2 DE. I have AoE2 Age of Kings, and Aoe2 The Conquerors. I’m wanting to play on voobly. Will I have to buy everything again or can I install AOC and then buy Aoe2 De on voobly and it will work?
I don't think new players should random unless they know a build order for the Chinese and another build order for every other civilization. If you end up with the Chinese it really messes with your build order. If you're not ready for it, it can be pretty detrimental. The first time I started randoming I would lose every game I got the Chinese just because I wasn't ready for the extra villagers. I think they want others if that has an extra villager a single one but I don't think it's a detrimental or is unexpected as the Chinese having six of them and no food.
'What does he even gain from going to IMP?'... This isn't how low ELO players think. Hitting tech buttons when you can afford them = good.
How do I even play ranked with DE? Everywhere I look on Voobly I only see older game compatibility.
You just buy De and go to multiplayer, De is not on Voobly
feel like civ is of no importens until at least 1000 elo
Lol, we hit 116F in California, we got it bad.
I’m a simple man, I see Goths, I hit like
Dude his mom called he had to do to bed
Pfffffffffffttttt these kids running 20 miles in 90-degree don't know what heat is. It's 99 here and HUMID! You have no idea what its like sitting down in my room with the ac on. -T900Official
In like 1300 elo team games on arena I got sick of going full random and then the goths kill me so I now go Malay and go full 2 hands.
You pick malay and don't do an elephant rush? :O
I had a game once with goth agains britons, where the other play just typed "GG" and quit, because he thought Britons had not chance against goth
WHAT WAS THAT SOUND AT 5:22 ???
which elo are they?
