This is exactly how I played. Just sit back, build a wall, gather resources with only 50 tops villagers, get *all* the upgrades, wait for imperial, build the perfect army, and then destroy the opponent (easy AI). The memories
Should have a Smalll Low Elo tournament where they get 4 days before hand to train with a character from Hidden Cup so the pros basically have to coach a newbie to win ... In order to get a split prize....
You'd need to go for mid ELO like the "adopt a noob" tournament as at this level there's so much disparity in skill. Day9, for example, would be a comparable ELO to these guys but a week of playing ranked games would put him miles above red even with Hera coaching red for a couple of hours a day.
Judging by the title, I'm going to assume that someone does what I used to do: send women to pick berries, butcher sheep, and farm; send men to chop trees, and mine(I don't think I knew about hunting, but that would have been performed by men.) I let them both build. I also preferred to make the towns pretty/orderly. I was completely wrong. Nevermind, I was totally right, and T90 used to do it too. I never built a wall of houses around my TC, though. I built my houses like blue did. I never chopped straggler trees because of their look; I like trees scattered around the town.
I used the male female villagers for different tasks because their animations were different. Used to wall my sheep in with palisades for pastureland, and would (in some games) send one female villager in there, maybe build a locked gate, and have her shepherd.

I'm impressed that low elo players usually build more than one lumber camp. That wasn't something I ever did when I was low elo. I'm pretty sure I knew actual build orders for knight rush or something before I started building multiple lumber camps.
In the original release of Age of Kings there was difference in stats between Male and Female villages. Woman would farm faster, and men would mine faster.
ok in defense of supplies, if your opponent isn't making archers, and you wanna just spam like 30 man at arms, it's definitely worth picking up BEFORE you do that. One thing worth mentioning here is that man at arms spam occupying your base is very hard to counter. They can destroy buildings, albeit not efficiently, and they can seriously wreck any trash the opponent can muster. Archers are strong against them but not one archer against massed infantry, and not when the infantry can just camp the archery range. Plus if you're goths, you can combo it into Huskarls after baiting your opponent to fully commit to archers and you've already got some infantry upgrades. So I think if you plan on fully committing to militia line, supplies is worth it. obviously that's only if you are about to do that. Not currently are.
If you are getting tower rushed on feudal you must compromise to a feudal fight. Get 8 scouts before he puts his fifth tower, bring 15 vils and batter down all the tower asap and snipe the vils. Also counter tower to prevent him to going forward.
Ok, these videos did it for me. I finally played some 1v1 ranked games. 10 of 'em actually. So now I actually have a rank. It's not worth mentioning really hahaha, but yeah. Wanted to say thank you. :)
I used to kill the female villagers because I only wanted all male villagers. But I used to do exactly what red did, females farming and males doing everything else. I also used to and still do use a single vill to build everything and just leave them idle so i can find them easier
On the subject of role playing Age: So back in the day like 10-12 years ago me and my mates would play age like mad, I'm talking 6 hour LAN sessions, sessions that started at midnight after we had been to the pub and lasted until it was daylight (we were students Hey!), we used to play quite a lot of games high and/or drunk, we were pretty bad as we only really played BF LAN so we never picked up decent strats so our games would be 50 mins booming on 1/2 TC and then a big fight then repeat as the winner returned to their town victorious but didn't actually kill their opponent, they could sometimes last hours but we were all having fun and it wasn't really competitive. No we weren't great but we could usually boom reasonably well after a few months (alright years) of this. BUT.... One time by which point we were pretty decent I was high AF and decided the best thinng I could do was to build a dark age agrarian Utopia in my BF clearing .... I'm talking William Wallace training campaign style base, I had square palisade walls with 4 gaps (no palisade gates in AoC 1.0c) so about 25 mins into the game my team mate is like 'can I get some support I'm being pushed here. I'm like: "sry mate no can do." We get wiped in short order and me and my mates spend the next 30 mins pissing ourselves laughing over the whole thing. Online communities are great and all but seriously there's no substitute for LAN gaming, it's a tragedy of the modern world that it's basically gone the way of the dinosaurs.

I learnt the hotkeys back in like 2001 as a kid and when I came back when HD came out I couldn't learn the new ones as my brain was like, no that's wrong. When I was a kid I used to build all the buildings and get all the upgrades in every age before clicking up. So I'd make sure to get M@A tracking (who remembers tracking, yeah that's right) and all the blacksmith and eco upgrades before clicking up to castle age. And then I'd make like 10 of every unit, doesn't matter what they good for, just 10 of every unit, seems good, but like 50 of my unique unit, doesn't matter what it is, it must be good as only I have it. I have a potential explanation for red's villager sex discrimination. Because he's a new player he's not very good with balancing eco, so he sends all females to farms and all males to something else as a way of helping him to have enough of a distribution of villagers across different resources.

I dont know if you ever saw this map, but it is included in the game. Basically you star in a very small island without TC and there are 2 large islands where the most of the resources are. There are also small islands with gold and stone. I played it a few times and I found it really interesting because I really do not know how I should play it. I actually went to a feudal TC drop on the large islands. Well, thank you for all your good job, HC3, LEL, etc.And please at least give a look on the Nile Delta map, I think it is really interesting.

you can press ctrl + a number when you have that vill selected; then when you press that number it will select the unit.

Autoscout is fantastic on Black forest. It helps find all those extra resources hidden in little nooks.

Using auto scout often gives you a higher score for many players so your enemy might get uncomfortable and potentially affect their performance.

I think if they happen to be right next to the TC, that's probably fine. But mostly it seems like they're not worth it beyond a very short distance.

So I decided to spectate some games for fun and the top on on the list Is DarkElf so I was like "hoo boy I'm ready for this" and I'm watching it now and S/HE'S DOING IT AGAIN.
i always set them on strag trees when waiting for my sheep to arrive... and i will keep on doing so cuz i play for fun ...cuz games are suposed to make fun right? ...i tried buildorders and that shit feels like work man ...work is no fun ... trying to wall in the tc of your opponend thats fun ^^
I think the narration of low elo is so much exciting than viper's games D:
