I thought Steel + grass was obvious for bastion as he was turned of in the forest with moss on him. But I guess you went with steel dark. Audio was fine for me
I feel like Doomfist should be fighting electric because he has got a giant metal fist, and it can be charged up with electricity. When he punches, electricity comes out of his fist. Also, there's literally a move called electric punch, which would make perfect sense for him.
I really thought so too but if you really think about it, grass type could be stretched to poisons and medicinal herbs so it kills 2 birds with 1 stone.
Brigitte i would say Steel + Fairy because she heals her team, something very fairy like, she always wears an armor which represents the steel. Also Tinkaton is that type and Tinkaton just looks like a mini Reinhart

I think dark type also would’ve worked a lot more than fighting as well as dark types are the ones with Prankster and Trick Room, and the Kitsune is a mischievous spirit. Especially considering he used Fairy because of the spirit aspect for Kiriko.

i think the "no monotypes", "no duplicates", and "Must use every type" rules just made it so all of the heroes' types were just EXTREMELY innacurate, meaning the video as a whole was kinda lame. Also BOB should have gotten his own seperate type. Edit: also, saying a hero shouldn't be a type because they aren't tanky enough doesn't make sense- i though this was about overwatch and pokemon lore, not gameplay???

But if it wasn’t for the fact that bug had to be used, orisa would be ground steel (terra surge & fortify) Brig deserves that steel type, she has armour, all of those things. Brig is quad weak to water AND grass. I really want a second video without the restrictions, because mono types, no 2 people can share the same type really messed some people up.

Junkrat should be Fire Grass or Fire Poison. Fire grass because the move "Snap Trap", a move where you snare your opponent with what is obviously a steel bear trap, is grass type. Fire poison because the motor doesn't spin a magnet, generating electricity for a battery, the motor just spins the wheel directly, thus poison for the smog spewing from it. Typing this, he could also be Fire Psychic as to explain how he telekinetically guides the rip tire and sets bear traps from 20 meters away.

Honestly Ramattra should have been Bug/Steel. Not only is he made of metal, he's an engineer (like Tinkaton; "From one engineer to another" pre-game voiceline with Hammond), so steel is a no-brainer Bug also just makes sense. Practically all bug types have exoskeletons or carapaces of some kind (Crustle's rock shell, Durant's steel armor, Burmy and Wormadam's coats) and Ramattra uses nanobots to create his Nemesis form, which makes him more durable like a shell. Not only this, but his void accelerator, ravenous vortex, and annihilation also use nanobots to attack Ramattra's foes; ants are Ramattra's favourite animal, so its clear that working together to overcome foes is very important to him (also seen in other voice lines of his). Plus, the Bug Type moves "Attack Order" and "Defend Order" (signature of Vespiquen) has the user (Vespiquen) "call out its underlings", just as Ramattra commands his comrades and nanites in combat.
I felt like junker queen should be Fighting and electric type. She is a fighter but also uses a lot of electric magnetic and I know some electric type moves has paralyzed effects and would give out slight pains.
i wouldeve give to lucio Normal instead of water since the normal is also the "sond" type to sigma i would give dragon since its a type that has some cocnection with cosmic powers like gravity, also one of the moves is Draco Meteor wich is a rock
Bap would prob fit best character wise as a Rock/Water, especially if you’re keeping his primary type Rock. He’d prob vibe with a Corsola as his lil buddy.

i could see fighting/poison for junker queen... her kit and especially her ult are very focused on wounds and blood and it definitely fits the poison typing's damage over time effect + zarya as ice/fighting bc she's absolutely ripped

I can see Echo as Flying Psychic because she’s got the psyche of her creator inside her brain, her super intelligence; and the ability to get Synchronize; plus Mew also learns transform.
I can see Grass Psychic for Lifeweaver and also Symmetra as Psychic Ice. The hard light is created by their imagination and the psychic type is the type of light screen which is their primary thing.

I feel like it should be said that Dark and Fairy type are types with dual/hidden meanings. Dark is usually assumed to just be for darkness, but it also stems from Evil and Sinister, in many languages like Spansih, the Dark type is called the Sinester type, basically giving an evil/mischief edge to those pokemon. And with fairy it is meant to be kinda like a light type and a mythic type, where it obviously acts as the counter for Dark type and a lot of its attacks refer to light or shine, and it's mythic in the sense of fairytales/folklore, which is why the Tapus are fairy types. Im saying this because it helps justify giving characters like Hanzo and Widow the Dark type and Kiriko and Mercy the Fairy type Also Psychic could work well for Mercy since Psychic has healing and revival moves that can revive/heal your teammate/other pokemon
Very nice! I actually made a list of this myself 6 years ago when Overwatch first came out, shortly after Ana got added. I didn’t have the rule of having to use every type at least once, or of making everything dual type, but I also gave them each an ability. Out of the 22 original characters, we only gave 4 of them the same exact typing (Lucio, Mercy, Winston, and Zenyatta). I liked a lot of your justifications behind the types you chose as well!
I personally would have made Doomfist Fighting/Ground, as his Seismic Slam and Meteor Strike leave cracks and craters in the ground - and Seismic Slam has a very Ground-like name.
I would've done fighting and flying for doomfist since he can literally fly to appear anywhere on the map whenever he wants. also because his slam is similar to the move "flying press" which is only learned by Hawlucha, a pokemon i think is similar to doomfist
i just got to the genji and hanzo part of the video and idk why you didn’t have genji as a dragon & fighting type, i think it makes more sense than having him as ghost
The only ones I personally would’ve changed are: Sombra: Electric psychic (because she’s very smart and knows how to manipulate people and situations to her advantage, and she is tech savvy. ) Mercy: Flying Psychic or Fairy Psychic (because she was a scientist so she’s very smart, and she has somewhat magical powers to bring people back from the dead. She also has her boost which makes me think of the move Calm Mind which is a psychic move. I know she can’t boost herself, unlike the move, but it was just something I thought about) Moira: Poison Psychic (again, scientist. She’s very smart and is great at manipulation. Her orbs remind me of the poison status effect which just chips away damage, like her orbs do. The damage beams also kinda look like the move psybeam in some renditions of it, which is just funny to me) And because it’s funny: I would give Junkrat the fairy typing along with fire, because he’s a trickster!
I did something similar to this for Magic: The Gathering. I tried associating each character, during OW1, to the color pie of Magic. I'll have to return to it, because I didn't take into consideration their backgrounds, but instead solely their ability.
I feel like Ground Steel would be best for Orisa since she can fortify, which a voiceline refers to as "grounding" and makes her unmovable, but also her ultimate is named Terra Surge.
I would think Junker Queen would be Fighting/Poison due to not only her brawly playstyle, but also her bleed damage is similar to poison as it saps away health
I think for Junkrat Fire/Ground would fit well as he uses explosives and is mainly fighting on the ground with his mines, grenades and trap. For his Pokémon-Counterpart it could be Camerupt which is also fitting as they both can erupt and cause destruction with their fire-power. Ps: The robot you mentioned for Wrecking Ball is part of the Pokemovie-studio from Pokémon Black2/White2. You could star in scripted battles which then become part of movies and they also had special characters like this robot.
Junker queen I feel would fit fightning + electric better personally because if you're gonna give cassidy electric for the magnets then junker queen definitely suits electric for her whole magnetic arm and all.
36:50 you incorrected yourself, hisuian sneasel and sneasler are fighting/poison. you were correct with sneasel and weavile since they're dark/ice. also pokestar studios was a little side mode in pokemon black 2 and white 2, back on the nintendo ds in 2012. it was really cool tbh.

In my opinion, Orisa would fit with Genesect as both are manmade (Genesect being made into a mech after being revived, and Orisa being rebuilt) Also you should do what each OverWatch hero's team would be, for example, Echo would definitely have Ditto and Smeargle as both are about copying their opponents

I felt like junker queen should be Fighting and electric type. She is a fighter but also uses a lot of electric magnetic and I know some electric type moves has paralyzed effects and would give out slight pains.

I can see Echo as Flying Psychic because she’s got the psyche of her creator inside her brain, her super intelligence; and the ability to get Synchronize; plus Mew also learns transform.
I can see Grass Psychic for Lifeweaver and also Symmetra as Psychic Ice. The hard light is created by their imagination and the psychic type is the type of light screen which is their primary thing.
Moira as psychic type also makes bunch of sense because one her voice lines when she throws her damage orb is “a taste of poison”
I’m gonna have to hard disagree on Widowmaker because if she was Bug Poison she would be Ariados which is literally a spider.

I feel like it should be said that Dark and Fairy type are types with dual/hidden meanings. Dark is usually assumed to just be for darkness, but it also stems from Evil and Sinister, in many languages like Spansih, the Dark type is called the Sinester type, basically giving an evil/mischief edge to those pokemon. And with fairy it is meant to be kinda like a light type and a mythic type, where it obviously acts as the counter for Dark type and a lot of its attacks refer to light or shine, and it's mythic in the sense of fairytales/folklore, which is why the Tapus are fairy types.
Im saying this because it helps justify giving characters like Hanzo and Widow the Dark type and Kiriko and Mercy the Fairy type
Also Psychic could work well for Mercy since Psychic has healing and revival moves that can revive/heal your teammate/other pokemon
Very nice! I actually made a list of this myself 6 years ago when Overwatch first came out, shortly after Ana got added. I didn’t have the rule of having to use every type at least once, or of making everything dual type, but I also gave them each an ability. Out of the 22 original characters, we only gave 4 of them the same exact typing (Lucio, Mercy, Winston, and Zenyatta). I liked a lot of your justifications behind the types you chose as well!
Bastion could have also been a steel/ghost type, due to it being the last of its kind and the haunting memories from the war it represents.
My theory is when overwatch characters go to the pokémon universe, they would train the pokémon that you chose.

I personally would have made Doomfist Fighting/Ground, as his Seismic Slam and Meteor Strike leave cracks and craters in the ground - and Seismic Slam has a very Ground-like name.
I would've done fighting and flying for doomfist since he can literally fly to appear anywhere on the map whenever he wants. also because his slam is similar to the move "flying press" which is only learned by Hawlucha, a pokemon i think is similar to doomfist
I would've given Junkrat Fire/Normal because of the moves "Explode" and "Self-Destruct", which should be obvious why.

Another second type to consider for Cassidy would be ghost or dark, given his ties to Blackwatch
The only ones I personally would’ve changed are:
Sombra: Electric psychic (because she’s very smart and knows how to manipulate people and situations to her advantage, and she is tech savvy. )
Mercy: Flying Psychic or Fairy Psychic (because she was a scientist so she’s very smart, and she has somewhat magical powers to bring people back from the dead. She also has her boost which makes me think of the move Calm Mind which is a psychic move. I know she can’t boost herself, unlike the move, but it was just something I thought about)
Moira: Poison Psychic (again, scientist. She’s very smart and is great at manipulation. Her orbs remind me of the poison status effect which just chips away damage, like her orbs do. The damage beams also kinda look like the move psybeam in some renditions of it, which is just funny to me)
And because it’s funny: I would give Junkrat the fairy typing along with fire, because he’s a trickster!
I did something similar to this for Magic: The Gathering. I tried associating each character, during OW1, to the color pie of Magic. I'll have to return to it, because I didn't take into consideration their backgrounds, but instead solely their ability.
I feel like Ground Steel would be best for Orisa since she can fortify, which a voiceline refers to as "grounding" and makes her unmovable, but also her ultimate is named Terra Surge.
I would think Junker Queen would be Fighting/Poison due to not only her brawly playstyle, but also her bleed damage is similar to poison as it saps away health

I think for Junkrat Fire/Ground would fit well as he uses explosives and is mainly fighting on the ground with his mines, grenades and trap. For his Pokémon-Counterpart it could be Camerupt which is also fitting as they both can erupt and cause destruction with their fire-power. Ps: The robot you mentioned for Wrecking Ball is part of the Pokemovie-studio from Pokémon Black2/White2. You could star in scripted battles which then become part of movies and they also had special characters like this robot.

In my opinion, Orisa would fit with Genesect as both are manmade (Genesect being made into a mech after being revived, and Orisa being rebuilt)
Also you should do what each OverWatch hero's team would be, for example, Echo would definitely have Ditto and Smeargle as both are about copying their opponents
