1. Count your calories but dont obsess over them. Or use a points-based system. Over time, you have a better understanding of portion sizes and calories so you can stop counting them. If you are petite or inactive never eat under 1100/1200/1400 calories. If you are tall or active never eat under 1400/1600/1800 calories. 2. Eat a balanced-diet, that includes GOOD carbs, GOOD protein and GOOD fats. Don't have too much processed food. 3. Don't weight yourself too frequently. She did it every second week (consistently at the same time, in the mornings after going to the bathroom) 4. Stop thinking about yourself in a negative way just because you aren't your ideal weight, don't think "because i'm a bit heavier i can't look good or i can't have fun etc" You are the same person whether you have a little bit more excess weight or not. Perfection does not exist. She treated herself like she was already at her ideal weight. 5. Stop drinking your calories - smoothies, juices, alcoholic beverages etc. They take up alot of your calorie intake and you don't really feel full after (obviously it depends on other factors though for e.g. some smoothies are really filling) 6. Drink water. She drinks water first thing in the morning before she eats. 7. Pay attention to portion sizes and give your body time to digest food. 8. Practice self-control. 9. Work out smarter not harder. HIIT or High-intensity interval training was more effective for her rather than doing 2-3 hours of endurance training/cardio. Build muscle - since you burn more calories the more lean muscle you have.
Me personally, I started losing the most weight after reading the book Woman’s weight loss secrets: the unspoken truth, a few things you are mentioning in this video are also in the book
Cracky S sammmmeeee what I want to do is but a special ring and put it on my dominant hand so when I reach for a food the ring will catch my attention and make me think "should I be eating this" this may not work for some people though ☺
I hope you found a solution, if not here is how I stayed motivated : each time I wanted to eat anything outside of the meals I forced myself to stop and ask "why?" why do I want to eat that? Is it because I'm lonely, bored or don't want to do a certain task (#procrastination) ? Then I first try to find a solution to that problem. Most of the time it went away. It's hard, and generally, there was a negative feeling lurking under my" appetite "so tackling that is rarely pleasing. But it made a world of a difference! No restrictive diet, no changes at all in my diet at all,but still a slow and steady loss. Hope this may help anyone :) best of luck!
Dani Marie leave 👏 him 👏. If he threatens to leave you just because you gained some weight, he doesn’t deserve you. If you want to lose weight, do it for yourself, not him or anyone else (unless your doctor recommends you lose it. That’s the only exception)
Sofia I just don’t know if he was joking or serious when he said it..... Idk 😐 I’ve already collected two years of memories so it would be hard to leave just because of that tho
Dani Marie well maybe ask him if he was serious. If he’s been good to you and never behaved like this before, then he was probably joking, but you could ask just to be sure
yas yis me!! Hehe..but I have to really find a long term motivation to make it work until the end of the year.Wish me luck and all the best to you too!!☺
White Okay ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx6K7NWahp9y3ir1gVAwysOCHOOPSnWZbw . I got it from my browser's history. I know that it's really frustrating to be over-weighted but all is possible with a strong determination. Good luck…..
Favorite part 12:32 - "If I was at my ideal weight right now... if I had my "perfect" body...if I was at my goal weight right now, how would I be dressing? How would I treat myself? How would I be taking care of my body?".... try to do this now, even when overweight. BEAUTIFUL
I just stumbled on your page...gonna try your system out. I'm 5'3 and at the heaviest I've ever been...169!😳 I want to lose 40lbs too! 🙌 on the 40lb weight loss, girl! That's awesome!!!!
I find that self control is actually pretty easy for me when it's on my OWN terms. I buy whole, "real" food and love healthy cooking! But, although I find that I can easily avoid buying a bag of potato chips at the grocery store or ordering crappy takeout, I struggle immensely with self control when junk food is put in front of my face without me having sought it out. I wouldn't ever buy a box of brownies to bake at home, but if a co-worker brought brownies to work one day to share, not only can I not avoid eating one, but I'll eat three... and feel as though I can't help myself. Same with parties, cookouts, etc. where junk food is just there, not to mention the added temptation of having a few beers or glasses of wine in such social situations... which then lowers my self-control even further. Any advice on avoiding binges in these situations, other than telling my friends "Sorry but I can't go to your birthday dinner at that Mexican restaurant because they serve bottomless chips and salsa and I'll eat two whole baskets of chips to myself..." ?? Help!
Hey Mia. I know that this response comes four months later but I hope you find this helpful. I used to be like you but I've learnt to find the balance. Because I eat healthy most of the time on my own, I indulge when I'm in social settings. That way I don't feel deprived. Do not beat yourself up about those three brownies. They will not hinder your progress if you're consistently eating healthy
Tip from me - I make sure to eat a big healthy meal before going to whatever occasion. That way, I can still eat whatever I want, and not be that rude person to say no to everything but because I’m still full from my dinner, it’s in very limited quantities. If I have leftovers, I give them to my family to avoid the leftovers temptation later that day or the next. Also, I try to limit my alch to one or two drinks - whether that may be a beer or wine or cocktail. Two is a good number to stop imo. It’s enough for 2-3 hours of socializing and it gives you a nice buzz but nothing crazy. Hope this helps!!
Hi - I have a similar problem, but I realized that what makes it difficult for me to say no is not that I CRAVE the taste of unhealthy food, but simply that I have trouble refusing what is offered to me for free. Like it's hard to pass on an opportunity. Sometimes I like to mentally make a deal with myself, promising that if I won't eat what is offered to me, I'll buy myself my favourite snack next time I'm shopping. Then when the time comes I either have already forgotten about the deal and have no problem passing on the junk food, or even sometimes DO reward myself for being strong. I think it's better to consciously treat yourself to your favourite snack from time to time rather than eat junk just because you have an opportunity to and can't control yourself.
@@baconinthesoap1 wow thats very interesting, i may try that i always have problems with my self control so maybe next time if im gonna be strong, i will reward myself. :)
Mitzi Jane yes!! I do this too. If I eat a big salad or a bunch of fruit before a social event then I don’t binge on the junk food since my stomach is already full of healthy stuff. One cheese jalapeño popper is ok, 5 are not
I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I think you should shout it from the roof tops that you lost 40 pounds girl! That's not an easy task by any means, and you did it with your self-control . I just somehow stumbled upon your channel this late evening and very happy that I did. I cannot wait to watch your workout videos, they sound just my speed. xoxo-Nadia
Hi guys! I am not promoting this product, but this tea has been so effective for me. It's called Red African Detox Tea. I personally lost 9 kilos in 3.5 weeks, if you are interested here's the link. bit.ly/RedTeaDetoxAfro
In my psychology class, we learned that the best, healthiest weight loss goal is 10% of your weight in six months. We have something called a set point, which is the weight that our body naturally wants to return to. It's easier to raise your set point when you gain weight than it is to lower it. It's also why when people try to lose weight quickly, it generally comes back. That's your set point. So when it comes to weight loss, slow and steady does win the race to slowly lower your set point. Something that might help is using smaller plates. We eat more when we are given more. Good luck on your weight loss journey! :)
This video couldn’t have came at a more perfect time! I’ve lost 2 lbs and I have 14 more to go!!! LOL I’ve tried everything under the sun as far as fad diets but this time I’m taking it slow and consistent! ☺️☺️☺️💖💖💖
Zayda Cortez that's great! I've been trying to eat healthier this year as well and have only lost a pound and a half of the twelve pounds I hope to lose, but it's a good start.
Your channel is one of my favorites! I'm gluten and dairy free due to food sensitivities and am trying to lose 15 lbs of unwanted weight. Your tips and recipes are very helpful!!
I feel like she is the only channel that creates videos about healthy lifestyle that I’ve come across that actually seems genuine which I hope is the case because I’ve found her videos so helpful and realistic and inspiring!
i love your honest assessment of weight loss. it’s so easy to pay attention to fad diets and things, but really, once you start taking care of yourself the way you should be, weight loss comes naturally. eat foods that are natural and good for you, eat how much your body needs instead of how much you want to eat, and love yourself no matter where you are in your journey.
*Your story motivates others to believe that achieving significant weight loss goals is possible with the right mindset and approach. Keep up the amazing work!*
Ignore the scale girl! It’s how your body looks that count, not what the scale says! A girl that weight 135 can look better and healthier then a girl who weighs 120
same! I used to obsessed with weighing myself, and it would stress me out like crazy, because I would expect to lose the weight so quickly. I had to realize that it was going to take some time and that I would have to be patient. It’s tough but it helps!
I need to weigh myself often or I gain weight. That’s just how it works for me. If I wait a week, I will see more pounds on the scale. Guess I just block my mind to being careful with portion size. Weighing at least every other day is a must for me - weird. Everyone is different.
Started my journey to lose 60lbs, your food videos are soooo helpful!! I’ve made my own weekly meal plan with recipes based on what you’ve posted (whole foods are so tasty!) I’m 5’9” and I’m eating 1400-1500 calories per day. My starting weight was 219lbs and so far I’ve lost 3lbs this week 😄 thank you so much!! You’re so inspiring xxx
MollyTheDragon congrats girl, am also on my way to recovery, am 225 pounds and 5’8, do you workout also. I don’t know if I can survive on a 1500 calories diet tho.
Freedaz Signatures hey! I know you didn't ask me but I just wanted to let you know that calorie counting isn't a strict thing. You can go a little above or a little below and just wipe your slate clean and start new the next day. One important thing that you may not realize contributes to loosing weight is portion control. It's easier to keep calories in mind when you follow the nutrition label on the sides of food packages. Also, working out does help! I was running until I pushed my body too far in a race and ended up hurting my leg. (Don't worry, you'll know if you are pushing yourself too far. I was just being a stubborn and wouldn't stop.) I'm about to start again in a few days and although I didn't like it when I started, I am SO excited to keep going and look better and FEEL better! Anyway, good luck and I wish you the best!
Last year i started to go to a nutritionist and i am reaching my goal weight, i lost 8 kgs , even if i don't follow the regimen sooo obsessively i lose weight because i started to understand that you are what you eat, that veggies are key, and they're so yummy! Also , I know that the first month or two could be difficult, but keep pushing! The only thing I don't like to do yet is exercising, that isn't a part of my life and I don't know how to make it work! Btw always remember that you're doing it because you love yourself ,not because you hate your body ! Only positive vibes xo
just try finding the type of exercise that suits you. It could vary from ballet to crossfit or mountain climbing. Just try new stuff and be positive, after a while you find the way through😊
i started taking calories into consideration and realized the same thing. I grew up believing i had to eat 2000 calories a day, but for someone who is 4'5 it just didn't make since.
@@diamondsrubies1964 That's a good goal! I go from anywhere between 1200-1400 and that satisfies me. I just have to be more mindful of getting my nutrients met with the small amount.
thank you for your honesty, for so many people being overweight is such a touchy object and people are ashamed for having been overweight in the past and that keeps them from openly talking about it, but your honesty is really refreshing and helpful. thank you so much!
Congrats on your journey! I'm on a quest to lose 70 lbs and be healthier coming up on 40 when I was a really in shape athlete in my early- to mid-20s. Last year, I lost my dad to a heart attack after decades of declining health. I am a dad to two young girls and I've made up my mind that I will not go down the same road as my dad. I am in my 9th week and woke up this morning down 27 lbs. I did this from power walking, building towards a run at full incline. I do my cardio workout 5-6 days a week on 3 days I am doing a very basic weight lifting routine. Eating-wise I am not eating snacks, just my meals and am eating desserts very sparingly. If I get a craving for something I'll eat a small taste of that thing and be done with it so I have the taste in my mouth. In terms of booze, I've restricted my intake particularly with beer. And I have also spiked my water intake as well as my already high intake of unsweetened, plain iced tea and seltzer water. Like you I am considering calories but not specifically more using it for portion sizes than anything. The last component is that I am journaling my full workout routine and what my morning weight was on a particular day. My routine and journaling is keeping me on track and I am also promising myself some sort of athletic activity when I hit my goal-weight which will likely be MMA, a men's hockey league or back to triathlons. It has been feeling so empowering and my energy has been off the charts. My work and progress mentally is leaving me not even really having any desire to indulge myself.
I am right now on my weight loss journey. I have been trying for months and I would lose 10 pounds and then give up and gain it all back. Over the summer, I want to begin my journey to my goal weight 135-145 pounds. Right now I’m 169 and I’m 5’10. My genetics suck and it runs in my family that it is hard for us to lose weight but very easy to gain it. So I’m turning 15 in September and playing a new sport and I’m starting high school and I feel like now is the perfect time to start. This channel has helped me a lottttttttt! Love you so much and thank you for helping me❤️❤️❤️
my goal is to lose 6-10 kg this year.. my biggest problem is my self control when there are sweet things around for my younger sisters (and me, but i shouldnt eat them if i wanna lose the weight lol). then i feel really bad after eating bc i realize ive eaten the bad stuff, but i cant seem to find the strenght to say no
You should try to do this challenge (I'm doing it right now too): I read that it takes 21 days to form or break a habit. So for 21 days I'm not eating any candy, chips or dessert. I'm eating everything else like I normally do, just no sweets. I think 21 days is a really good time frame and I am excited to see what happens!
I cut my calories back so much and I saw results. Unfortunately, I realized too late that it messed my concentration in class and I’m tired all the time. I have exams coming up so I decided I had to put that first. Sometimes you just need to prioritize.
I have been struggling with my weight for a few years now, I was always naturally thin, until one day I woke up and didn’t recognize my body. Your channel has inspired me, I am 7 pounds lighter (and a million times happier) and your videos have helped me tremendously.
I've been struggling with my weight for the past five years, and the past couple months I've lost 17 pounds with your tips along with some of my own touches :)) Thanks so much for sharing your journey!!
I can related to you so much! I’m 5’2 also and I gained 10 pounds in 3 months 😭 I was in my “perfect” weight and I let myself go and started eating lots of crap! I’m so happy I found you👌
I lost 30 lbs in 12 months. From 70 to 55kg for 1,7m: now I'm healthier and when dressed I feel like a model! I just changed my habits for healthier without any weight goal but I'm not mad at it ;) My before and after pics are stunning and inspired me to try consistently being the best version of myself, but even if I did it slowly my skin in lower body feels saggier and droopier than ever, my cellulite got way better (along with other more significant health parameters) but this sagginess makes me feel way older than 26 and I dont know how to firm it and tone it. I'm ashamed I did this to my body but I'm proud I took action to care for myself :) Stretck marks are fight wounds (never been pregnant lol, so I know it's not ok for me to have it, but hey, I've been bad to myself, I have been human and my past or my body or my emotions don't define me :) But I still want to improve. And I'd like to have the best shape i could achieve in a healthy sustainable way... Will I be stuck with shapewear all year long? Or will my saggy body adjust itself? I hate exercising except walk/cardio/dance and cant afford gym subscriptions yet. Anyone knows at home dancing routines that can help me? Paired with nothing else but proper nutrition
I add my nutrition before and after I started caring, it worked for me, it might help someone else. Before: i used to buy lots of chocolate, cookies, ice cream, overprocessed microwavable food, fast food, eat randomly, snack almost all day long, skip meals, skip breakfast, smoke, drink alcohol twice a week, be super lazy and avoid every step/movement than can be done by someone or something else => lead me to phisical health issues, life and relationships problems, lack of purpose, anxiety, and a very bad mental place After: Breackfast: yogurt + muesli Snack: unsweetened tea and random dry fruits/nuts in winter, fresh fruits and juices in summer Lunch: half plate carbohydrates (pasta, rice, potatoes, bread, whatever) half plate raw or cooked vegetables with spices and olive oil (I discovered that I LOVE cooking, it's so fun and on yt there are so many recipes!) Snack if too hungry: a fruit or a whole grain toast with cheese or jam or seldom a dessert (like a small ice-cream) Dinner: like lunch + 1 portion (~half plate) of protein (I like chicken, fish, eggs, legumes... I eat red meat only seldom) Dessert: fruits or some small patisserie I actually love and that makes me feel special lol When I dont cook myself I don't care much and I eat whatever, but only having a routine that states your normality you can enjoy more the exceptions, the holidays etc... Even in life, I was taking the "YOLO" thing as if I was immortal, but we should care for ourselves as we would with someone we love and who can't help himself (like your baby or your pet) In 2020 there is so much free knowledge, and if you are reading this, then you are lucky enough to actually have a device, to have internet... and even if you are broke you can chose to care of yourself somehow, also remembering to smile and being grateful help so much! Because, if you are free no one else can take care of you better than you! And if you are not free to choose right now, keep learning and improving to eventually get yourself there! If you are underage your parents will give you further freedom when you'll show them and yourself that you know what's better for you! And check a doctor before changing diet drastically, because some health conditions may require more attention... Stay safe, stay strong! And sorry for my English, hope it's understandable, if not your feedback may help me improve :)
i weigh around 160 pounds and im pretty young which I’m not happy with I’ve been trying to lose weight for so long but I’ve never been consistent hopefully by summer i will reach a healthy weight im happy with, i deal with alot of self esteem issues but i try to stay motivated and see the positive, aiming to lose around 20-45 pounds by april!!!
Sometimes I feel like I can’t make a change the way I want because Im a high schooler living with my family still. Sure I cook sometimes, but whatever food is made, you kind of have to eat right? So I feel like it’s harder to change my eating habits when I’m not the one buying the groceries. Not that my family doesn’t want to be healthy, but I feel like it’s not really the priority rn so to speak. Anyone else have this issue?
Uηвяєαкαвℓє Lσνє I have the exact same issue! And when you try to eat something healthier my families always like "if your hungry why don't you eat dinner". It's frustrating.
If your family is open to it, try just being honest. They might not suddenly change everything, but they might make some adjustments to the groceries they shop and you can go from there. Look up recipes and cook for the whole family, eat moderate portions that fill you up and exercise regularly. When I went vegetarian at age 15, I had to make arrangements too and the best way to do this is talking openly and offering to do the work as to not make things harder for your family. I can give you probably a ton of tips if you need them ^^
Uηвяєαкαвℓє Lσνє that is great! From personal experience, I can say that you can positively influence the people surrounding you by just talking about health occasionally. I "made" some people go vegetarian or at least cut out huge amount of meat just by cooking yummy meals all the time and avoid dangerously unhealthy foods by explaining (like diet soda, because of aspartame). Wish you all the best!
Actually one of the most honest videos. Not saying you can eat shit and lose weight but you just need carefully look at what you eat but not starving yourself. Amazing advice
This was so helpful. I'm definitely the kind of person to count calories all day and then eat a whole bunch in the evening because I'm so hungry 😭 I'm wanting to lose about 20 lbs this year, or at least get to a weight where I feel confident! Love your videos :)
Have you tried cutting carbs? I cut carbs and sugars and I don’t have the cravings I used to have (and trust me, I LOVE PIZZAAAA and so many other snacks)
You're spot on with everything you said. After spending most of my adulthood trying various weight loss methods my current weight loss journey began by accident with an aching tooth. Due to my aching tooth I was unable to eat certain foods and as such started to lose weight and from there I started to change my eating habits. I stumbled across you tubers promoting healthier eating, meal preps etc and then come across your channel, Liezl. I wrote everything down and from there my eating habits have completely changed. I eat a lot however it's all the good foods and I still splurge when socialising but I am quick to get back on track. It still amazes me how much Good food I can eat and still lose weight but more importantly I'm no longer craving the wrong types of food and I'm no longer obsessed and so focused on "dieting and food" Keep up the great work Liezel and look forward to future videos.
I stopped exercising for 2 months and basically ate what my heart desired so ive gained a lot of fat on my thighs and muffin top, my face is chubbier too. Although I only gained 2kg , my muscles that I had before turned to fat. Im taking this new year motivation as an opportunity to lose weight and fat. Your tips are great! Thank you liezl
It's so sweet and selfless of you to help other women out there who struggle with the same weight loss problems you had. It's awesome how passionate you are about helping others achieve their goals😊
OMG relatable! I couple years ago, me and my siblings moved in with my dad, and unlike my mother's house, he actually buys us snacks, and let's us play on computers and TV and stuff like that. So I ate lots and lots, taking advantage of it, and wasn't as active as I was before, because playing outside used to be the only thing I did for fun. I was completely unaware that I was gaining weight, and eventually I became super chubby... I realized I needed to stop, and turn my self around, before it got out of hand. I found a great exercise routine that works great for me, and I stopped eating unhealthy. I cut my size in half in around 6 months, and am extremely proud of myself for it. Still have a bit more to go before I reach my goal, so I've recently just started it up again, and am finishing up my journey.
Thank you sooo much Liezl. It’s really thoughtful of you to sit down every time and tell us so much in detail about your experience and how we girls out here can do it the right way. Hands down you are the sweetest and the best.
I love your videos I literally gained 30lbs this past year and I’m also only 5’1. And your advice is spot on. I totally ate way more than necessary for my body type and sedentary lifestyle!
i’ve watched soooo many weight loss videos and i can honestly say this is the best one i’ve watched. i can relate soooo much and you were so helpful! thank you!
Liezl, thank you most sincerely for this. You seem so honest and genuine to me and that is a rare thing with fitness/weightloss "gurus" these days. Its comforting that what you advice is what you tried and worked for "you", not what you read in a book. Thank you a 1,000 times for all your hard work & time that invested in benefitting others like me.
You have TOTALLY inspired me to start my weight loss journey. A huge THANK YOU for sharing all of the tips on meal preps and workout plans. I have been journaling and printing your weight loss tips, meal prep plans, and how much to eat in a day. God bless you for helping me so much in what to shop and what to eat. CONGRATULATIONS on your accomplishment of the loss of 40 pounds.
I know this video is from 2018 but wow we have the same story. Even moving to usa and gaining 40 lb in months. Happened to me. The only difference is that I gained even more and that I am 5'6. I'm almost 40 down and 20 lbs to go! thanks for this video.
The self control part spoke to me the most because I've always had great self control growing up which is why I've been able maintain my weight...until I moved away from home a few years ago and my eating schedule got out of wack and I was just eating and drinking whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Now it's time to gain that self control back because the bingeing is driving me crazy and I've gained more weight than I ever have. Thanks for this video!
I can relate so muchhh. Jesus, it even makes me cry. It's been at least 4 years of ups and downs, i've always felt fat, even when i was a little girl i was always the bigger one, even though sometimes i look at my younger self and i always feel like i was too hard on myself. But i have been trying to lose weight for so long, since i was in sixth grade (i'm now going to 11th grade). I need to feel confident, and have the life that i always wanted. I always felt like losing weight would be the ideal situation, not because i want other people to like me more, no! I love me, and i think that is very important, but i also feel like the person that i am now is not the best version of myself. I wanna be better. For myself, and for my body. And i dont feel like is going to be hard, i just need to be patient. I love healthy food and i actually LOVE exercising. It's really great. But i got to be consistent, because i always tend to binge a lot in the end because i feel discourage. And then i start binging and feeling like crap all over again. And you are right, you need to feel confident. Everytime i say to myself that i should be stuck at home and dont go out or meet new people until i look skinny and perfect, is just so bad for me. I'm hoping i can be better this year. I promised myself. And i am going to make it for sure. Thank you so much
I get tears in my eyes (maybe I’m being a little overdramatic) BUT you help me and inspire me so much, you have no idea I can’t thank you enough!! You’ve got a new subscriber x
Thank you so much for your honesty - and please stop apologising for talking so much about your success, you are bringing so much value to your community so should be talking about it! xx
I started my Keto diet a little under a week now and i'm already down 4.5 Kilos! I'm fully aware that cutting the carbs has caused me to lose all that weight as water, but I researched a lot and learned that the weight loss will stagnate or even reverse before I start to lose fat weight instead of water weight. I still watch your videos because they're so inspiring (even though I can't eat a lot of it anymore ^^; ). I'm also going to be starting my high intensity training instead of the endurance training... wish me luck
Do you want to make a video of what you ate before you lost weight? Your videos are always so helpful!!! Thank you :) oh and I tried your smoothie recipe with the banana, frozen mango, nut butter and spinach and I loved it! 😊❤️
i’ve lost 6.4 pounds so far. you have really helped me not feel as stressed about weighing myself, counting calories, etc. i want to lose 20 lbs. this video really helped me thank you!!
I can relate honestly 🤦🏻♀️ Those people that say you need to eat all the good fats and no carbs, but then others say eat carbs and not the fats 🤦🏻♀️ like wth? 😂 I have never been so confused in my life
Yasmine Tolento tell me about it!!! I go crazy sometimes: low fat? Low carb? High protein? Dairy free? Gluten free? Vegan? Plant based? Raw? Paleo? LIKE WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME I CANT DO IT ALL
it all calories when it comes to weight. You can eat crap as long as you're not eating too many calories. It's not healthy but if you purely want to lose weight, it works
Your macros somewhat depend on your body and lifestyle specifically. If you're trying to lose fat and you're not an endurance athlete, I don't see the reasoning behind eating a ton of carbs from grain products. Don't eat too much protein if you aren't seeking major "gainz", and just try avoiding sat and trans fat as much as possible. Too much good fats is still bad because of the amount of cals. Lifestyle change is about who YOU are and what YOU want in life. My journey has gone to one meal a day and low carb, high fat. I don't like the pressure of "having to eat" because it's society's standards. My meals are more experimental and fun from not including certain foods; it's a challenge for me! Now the fat is melting off.
Try both and do what works for your body. Every body is different. One will work for some and the other will work for other people. Your body will tell you.
I find this to be such good, wholesome advice. It’s taken me much longer than you to get to this mindset, but once I found myself practising all the things you’ve touched on, I started seeing real results too. Nice work.
Im tired of counting calories nd yesterday I screw my diet by eating lemon pie (tarte aux citron ) nd Ferrero rocher chocolate nd dates that's before going to bed I wake up mad at myself 😤😤😤
Don't beat yourself up about it! 😇Keep going forward, learn from the mistake & remember your end goal🤓.We all slip up sometimes & plus side- you can think of it as your cheat meal/snack this week😋. Also use as motivation to workout hard today burn off those calories/fat.😉 You got this Lady, you can do!😁
Jess Molinar thanks lady for the support and the motivation that u gave me it means the world nd that's actually what im doing .by the way when u say lady I felt like old woman 😂😂im young nd married😅😅😂😂🤓
+ella ellajem Forgive me, didn't mean no disrespect intended.😌 My friends and I say to each other "Hey lady!"😄 I see like a respectable word. I assumed you were young but didn't want to say girl, as I see it as too childish of a term to use for mature and sophisticated ladies. Good luck to you in your goals to have a healthy lifestyle!🤗
This video is just perfect. I'm at this point exaxtly right now, i wanna lose 20kg and i know it'll take me roughly a year. This video tells me that i'm exactly right with what i'm about to change now, i also tried every diet and they did nothing for me. So i'm positive about it i hope i can change my eating habits so i can finally feel good with my body again 🙈 And btw now i know why i'm tired all the time... Thanks, you helped me a lot :)
Ive been overweight my whole life, my heaviest was back in 2010, weighing around 180 lbs and I am 5'3. Today I weigh around 145 lb, I am struggling to lose the last 15 lbs. Thank you for you tips, I will try this.
I've always loved working out but fornthe first time I've lost 15 pounds. I've always been a bit overweight but the last year of my life I gained 60lbs! I'm finally losing the weight and you give me so much determination and motivation! Thank you!
Sorry... I did mean processed sugar free..:) plus I'm 5'2 as well so this amount works for me.. You guys can check how much calories u need based on your height and build. :* :) stay healthy
You know, I'm suffering from anxiety and depression. And sometimes I'll stop myself from doing things just because I think that those deseases will be in the way. Like it's not worth the try. And what you said about thinking about yourself in a different light really spoke to me. Because I always think things like "I'm flawed. There's nothing I can do about it. When I get over the depression I'll be able to do this and that... I'll finally be happy"... Yeah, it's been ten years LOL. It's not the same, because I know that there are days where it's really out of my control, but I know that other days it's not that bad, and what you said has made me realize that the fear of going into a crisis shouldn't stop me now from living the life I want for future not-ill me. Because I too went through a process of losing weight. Just like you. And something amazing happened! I got more confident, went shopping, went out more often... I did the things I wanted to do for skinnier me even though I wasn't at my goal-weight yet. I got through that! And that inspired me to take guitar lessons which I thought I was too flawed to do... Why not use that same approach for these illnesses? If I was able to change on the outside, it should work on the inside too, right? I'll find the way to make it work. So, thank you Liezl :) you're lovely and really inspiring.
I love that you mention that you need to treat and feed your body as though you were already your ideal weight. Mindset is definitely a large factor in losing weight. ♥️
The first step is changing your mentality. Eat clean, drink a lot of water, and be active! It's hard to start but baby steps and little by little you'll get there. Y'all are all beautiful! No matter what but doesn't hurt to be healthy :-)
Realest weight loss story I’ve seen. You are similar to my height. I just started a 12 week program, I want to lose 20 pounds. I know it won’t happen overnight, but I will get there.
One of my fav yo tubers! Love how your so down to earth and not someone who does fitness for a living and shows how to balance it with life. Lots of love❤❤❤
To lose weight you have to burn more calories than you take in. So they matter very much if your goal is to lose weight. If your goal is to eat healthfully then they wouldn’t be a factor.
Shae you can eat as many fruits or vegetables as you want and you won’t gain weight so that’s not entirely true. What the calories come from matters more than how many calories you eat.
Adorable Princess Fairy you could eat the same amount of calories in fruit, and then in fast food and you would gain weight with the fast food but not the fruit. The source of calories is very important.
Adorable Princess Fairy we are talking about consumption not expenditure... where did I say expenditure isn’t important? In all honestly though your diet effects your body 10 times more than exercise does. Hence the reason you can lose weight by just changing diet alone. I used to have a six pack just from maintaining a healthy diet, I never worked out.
I always appreciate your honest and healthy approach. I’ve lost 25 lbs in the last 4 months from just being mindful of my calories and trying to consciously choose healthy foods more than unhealthy. And yes, tall girls do need more but not huge amounts more. For me to lose about 2 lbs a week, at 6 foot and 195 lbs, I need to eat roughly 1500 calories a day. That means my maintenance calories (aka If I’m not trying to gain or lose weight) is around 2000 calories a day. So yes, it’s a big deficit but it is the one sure fire way to lose. Calories in vs calories out. It’s so simple! I can’t believe it took me this long to realize! Lol.
She did it every second week (consistently at the same time, in the mornings after going to the bathroom)
They take up alot of your calorie intake and you don't really feel full after (obviously it depends on other factors though for e.g. some smoothies are really filling)
Thanks!!
Hero!
Thank you!!
Thank you!
You are a true blessing!
Me personally, I started losing the most weight after reading the book Woman’s weight loss secrets: the unspoken truth, a few things you are mentioning in this video are also in the book
Self Control is the hardest Part For me 😭
Cracky S sammmmeeee what I want to do is but a special ring and put it on my dominant hand so when I reach for a food the ring will catch my attention and make me think "should I be eating this" this may not work for some people though ☺
This sounds like a good idea😉
Crap me too I hate it
I found a lot of help from this www.mediafire.com/file/qldv9o4hycy45te/UltimateGuideToDetoxing.pdf
Anyone else trying to lose weight in quarantine?
Me too i wanna have a glow up for school
My boyfriend said I got fat this year and he’ll leave me if I don’t get better sooooooo yeah
Who else decided to lose weight in 2018? We can dooo it
7 days in and i love it❤
yas yis me!! Hehe..but I have to really find a long term motivation to make it work until the end of the year.Wish me luck and all the best to you too!!☺

Anyone else trying to lose weight in 2019 💞

First weight loss video that actually makes sense
I think Liezl is the only real person that can actually help others or at least the only helpful person I have came across
Yasmine Tolento I know right
check out whitney simmons!!! she’s my favorite!
Or Natacha Océane...
Yasmine Tolento don’t be fooled. SA girls are the most nasty racists I have ever met.
Emi wong and joanna soh are rlly good too
Favorite part 12:32 - "If I was at my ideal weight right now... if I had my "perfect" body...if I was at my goal weight right now, how would I be dressing? How would I treat myself? How would I be taking care of my body?".... try to do this now, even when overweight. BEAUTIFUL
She wants to lose weight dont dont make her feel bad for wanting to be healthy 🙄
I just stumbled on your page...gonna try your system out. I'm 5'3 and at the heaviest I've ever been...169!😳 I want to lose 40lbs too! 🙌 on the 40lb weight loss, girl! That's awesome!!!!
Me too! Same height and weight!!!
Good goal. That's do-able depending on the time frame. 40lbs over how long time?
I cannot wait to watch your workout videos, they sound just my speed. xoxo-Nadia
Same here.
I lost about 15-20 pounds last year and I still act so NEGATIVELY towards my body, thank you for sharing 👏🏻
*I gained some weight over the past few years so I’m looking forward to tone up & loose weight this year & I will DEFF keep your tips in mind* 🙌🏼
Tee Bella TV x xx

Hi guys! I am not promoting this product, but this tea has been so effective for me. It's called Red African Detox Tea. I personally lost 9 kilos in 3.5 weeks, if you are interested here's the link. bit.ly/RedTeaDetoxAfro
Me too! Wish you all the best!
I like this so much 96
In my psychology class, we learned that the best, healthiest weight loss goal is 10% of your weight in six months.
I’m back here for motivation! Still going strong guys! 💖☺️
Princess Caty yay! We can do this! Consistency is key 💃🏼
I want to lose 8-12 lbs by May! I need help to keep me accountable!💕
How much have you lost so far?
i stopped weighing myself and gained 5lbs 😂
ProjectLife me too, but I can't even tell how much I gained because now I'm scared :'D
thats why im afraid to not weigh myself
ange but in all honesty, it should not matter unless you feel like you gained or lost a too big amount.
Yes same!!!! It almost helps me every day to weigh myself and keep track of if what I'm doing is working
I stopped weighing my self and I gained 20 lbs
Your channel is one of my favorites! I'm gluten and dairy free due to food sensitivities and am trying to lose 15 lbs of unwanted weight. Your tips and recipes are very helpful!!
Love how genuine and humble you are! Love these tips.
Honestly I weigh myself wayyyy too much and it does definitely cause me stress and anxiety. I need to remind myself to be patient!
Ci Nguyen same girl
I love how you talk from the heart but are also considerate if others personal and individual journeys
Congrats. I’m 5’10” ish. And I’m around 190-194. I wanted to lose weight and I have a wedding coming up that I’m going too. Good luck :)
Freedaz Signatures yes! Go you xxx 1500 cals is actually a lot easier than I thought it would be :)
loser Good luck to you too!! We can do this!
Yess, law of attraction is thinking as if you're already at your ideal weight. Love this video
Veronica Mazzolari look into the fitness Marshall or blogilaties. The fitness marshall has great dance workouts

For me its the other way around (rn).. I could workout every day but can not stop craving something sweet beside my veggies 😣
just try finding the type of exercise that suits you.
Daaaaayum you're so smol 😂
I am 5’4 and I’m shooting for about 1800 calories a day
@@micah5641 I know! I have dwarfism which explains the height lol.
@@diamondsrubies1964 That's a good goal! I go from anywhere between 1200-1400 and that satisfies me. I just have to be more mindful of getting my nutrients met with the small amount.
Thank you for talking about weightloss in such a healthy way!
thank you for your honesty, for so many people being overweight is such a touchy object and people are ashamed for having been overweight in the past and that keeps them from openly talking about it, but your honesty is really refreshing and helpful. thank you so much!
Love you so much and thank you for helping me❤️❤️❤️
my goal is to lose 6-10 kg this year.. my biggest problem is my self control when there are sweet things around for my younger sisters (and me, but i shouldnt eat them if i wanna lose the weight lol). then i feel really bad after eating bc i realize ive eaten the bad stuff, but i cant seem to find the strenght to say no
federica moretto well i guess the problem is the strenght to just take one cookie and not many etc. lol
ann when ever u feel like eating sweets always say to yourself " A moment on the lips forever on the hips" I think this helps..all the best
Bini A haha i think ive heard that in the tv show friends, a good tip tho!
thanks for all the tips guys!
I cut my calories back so much and I saw results. Unfortunately, I realized too late that it messed my concentration in class and I’m tired all the time. I have exams coming up so I decided I had to put that first. Sometimes you just need to prioritize.
I weight myself almost every day. Every loose of grams is my motivation to continue.
Great video btw!
Don’t weigh your self everyday weigh yourself every week
I have been struggling with my weight for a few years now, I was always naturally thin, until one day I woke up and didn’t recognize my body. Your channel has inspired me, I am 7 pounds lighter (and a million times happier) and your videos have helped me tremendously.
Gonna try lose 40 pounds 😭. Im tired of feeling like a potato sack
Did you lose it?
I've been struggling with my weight for the past five years, and the past couple months I've lost 17 pounds with your tips along with some of my own touches :)) Thanks so much for sharing your journey!!
I can related to you so much! I’m 5’2 also and I gained 10 pounds in 3 months 😭 I was in my “perfect” weight and I let myself go and started eating lots of crap!
I’m so happy I found you👌
Thumbed her up for showing her before and after pictures. Very important, inspiring and motivating when sharing a testimony like this.
I lost 30 lbs in 12 months. From 70 to 55kg for 1,7m: now I'm healthier and when dressed I feel like a model!
I just changed my habits for healthier without any weight goal but I'm not mad at it ;)
My before and after pics are stunning and inspired me to try consistently being the best version of myself, but even if I did it slowly my skin in lower body feels saggier and droopier than ever, my cellulite got way better (along with other more significant health parameters) but this sagginess makes me feel way older than 26 and I dont know how to firm it and tone it.
I'm ashamed I did this to my body but I'm proud I took action to care for myself :)
Stretck marks are fight wounds (never been pregnant lol, so I know it's not ok for me to have it, but hey, I've been bad to myself, I have been human and my past or my body or my emotions don't define me :)
But I still want to improve.
Before: i used to buy lots of chocolate, cookies, ice cream, overprocessed microwavable food, fast food, eat randomly, snack almost all day long, skip meals, skip breakfast, smoke, drink alcohol twice a week, be super lazy and avoid every step/movement than can be done by someone or something else => lead me to phisical health issues, life and relationships problems, lack of purpose, anxiety, and a very bad mental place
After:
Breackfast: yogurt + muesli
Snack: unsweetened tea and random dry fruits/nuts in winter, fresh fruits and juices in summer
Lunch: half plate carbohydrates (pasta, rice, potatoes, bread, whatever) half plate raw or cooked vegetables with spices and olive oil (I discovered that I LOVE cooking, it's so fun and on yt there are so many recipes!)
Snack if too hungry: a fruit or a whole grain toast with cheese or jam or seldom a dessert (like a small ice-cream)
Dinner: like lunch + 1 portion (~half plate) of protein (I like chicken, fish, eggs, legumes... I eat red meat only seldom)
Dessert: fruits or some small patisserie I actually love and that makes me feel special lol
When I dont cook myself I don't care much and I eat whatever, but only having a routine that states your normality you can enjoy more the exceptions, the holidays etc...
Even in life, I was taking the "YOLO" thing as if I was immortal, but we should care for ourselves as we would with someone we love and who can't help himself (like your baby or your pet)
In 2020 there is so much free knowledge, and if you are reading this, then you are lucky enough to actually have a device, to have internet... and even if you are broke you can chose to care of yourself somehow, also remembering to smile and being grateful help so much!
I gained about 20 lbs last school year because of a thyroid issue, but I'm working really hard to lose it. We got this, girl!
Lybah. 2k4 did u lose it
Sometimes I feel like I can’t make a change the way I want because Im a high schooler living with my family still.
I can give you probably a ton of tips if you need them ^^
Nini Yeah we’ve been talking about health a lot more lately, and I even got her to try the 28 day reset challenge by blogilates with me 😊😊😀
Uηвяєαкαвℓє Lσνє that is great!
Nini Yeah Thank you!
I relate so much omg I always eat a lot after dinner ://
Have you tried cutting carbs? I cut carbs and sugars and I don’t have the cravings I used to have (and trust me, I LOVE PIZZAAAA and so many other snacks)
Murdoc_Thiccals do not cut carbs please understand that all your losing is wAter weight. CARBS DO NOT MAKE YOU FAT
Try intermittent fasting. It helps you to control your cravings
OMG ME TOO GIRL
So glad I remembered you again! So fed up of yo yo dieting! X
It still amazes me how much Good food I can eat and still lose weight but more importantly I'm no longer craving the wrong types of food and I'm no longer obsessed and so focused on "dieting and food"
Keep up the great work Liezel and look forward to future videos.
this was for real the most realistic, helpful video I have ever watched. SO motivating. thanks girl you're the bomb!
Yah thank you, you’re the most realistic health lifestyle you tuber, you really touch on real subjects and struggles during weight loss!
30 pounds = 13,6 kg :)
Thanks
Your channel is so underrated 😭 your food videos are both aesthetically pleasing & informative!! So glad I found you during my weight loss journey ❤️
“I ate the entire United States of America” LOL that cracked me up. 🇺🇸
P. S. I love all your videos and recipes! 😍😍😍😍
Sarah George I wonder if that's an actual saying or if she made it up. I'm an American and it's totally hilarious. I might start adopting it lol
😂😂😂
Me rn in college as a freshman. Freshman 15... oof
It's so sweet and selfless of you to help other women out there who struggle with the same weight loss problems you had. It's awesome how passionate you are about helping others achieve their goals😊
I‘m currently in the process of losing weight and this video reassured me that I‘m on the right path - thanks for the motivation! 😇
Still have a bit more to go before I reach my goal, so I've recently just started it up again, and am finishing up my journey.
ooooh that dig on Freelee 😂😂
lmfaooo
I love your discussion about self confidence rather than being perfect 👌🏻
Thank you sooo much Liezl. It’s really thoughtful of you to sit down every time and tell us so much in detail about your experience and how we girls out here can do it the right way. Hands down you are the sweetest and the best.
Finally!! Something that doesn’t involve Keto! Nothing against the plan, I personally just want to have a balanced diet
I’ve never been so early!! ❤️ this was such an interesting and educational video
Anna Lee what's your keto diet you're following?
These tips are sooo good! The mentality is so important too. Not being obsessed about calories and the scale very important!
Code 68 I did so much research good fats & good carbs are fine. Its the processed foods&sugar that's the enemy :) all the best
Nice work.
Im tired of counting calories nd yesterday I screw my diet by eating lemon pie (tarte aux citron ) nd Ferrero rocher chocolate nd dates that's before going to bed I wake up mad at myself 😤😤😤
ella ellajem that’s ok but you probably just didn’t eat enough throughout the day
Keodl Ofnew I guess my calories was just enough but because I wanted to sleep nd my husband took to much time to pick me up from my Mother flat
Thank you so much for being so transparent and sharing. Truly appreciate your honesty and humility. Your inspiring!
This video is just perfect. I'm at this point exaxtly right now, i wanna lose 20kg and i know it'll take me roughly a year. This video tells me that i'm exactly right with what i'm about to change now, i also tried every diet and they did nothing for me. So i'm positive about it i hope i can change my eating habits so i can finally feel good with my body again 🙈
And btw now i know why i'm tired all the time...
I love that you “Ate the whole United States”😀😀 I sooo get what you mean and identify with you! Thank you for your refreshing honest videos 👍🏾😀
55 lbs down. 30 more to go
I've always loved working out but fornthe first time I've lost 15 pounds. I've always been a bit overweight but the last year of my life I gained 60lbs! I'm finally losing the weight and you give me so much determination and motivation! Thank you!
Your videos are so helpful.. I too am following a gluten, diary and sugar free diet... Thank you for making these amazing videos..:)
sreevidya menon your body needs sugar to run...
Maryssa I think she’s referring to processed sugar :)
sreevidya menon wanna follow such diet too but I feel like I'm left out with no food??😭😭
Sorry... I did mean processed sugar free..:) plus I'm 5'2 as well so this amount works for me.. You guys can check how much calories u need based on your height and build. :* :) stay healthy
This is exactly what I need to be doing :)
I love your videos and I subscribed, turned on the bell and liked this video! I watch all your videos
SO GLAD you touched on being petite. I’m 5’-1” and I’m forever telling people that I eat enough and I CANNOT EAT like them.......
wow im inspired by you and its amazing how these tips are so helpful! xoxo from a deaf subscriber
I love that you mention that you need to treat and feed your body as though you were already your ideal weight. Mindset is definitely a large factor in losing weight. ♥️
I gained a lot of weight only in December with these holidays..🐷😭
I feel like everyone gains during the holidays lmao you're definitely not the only one
The first step is changing your mentality. Eat clean, drink a lot of water, and be active! It's hard to start but baby steps and little by little you'll get there. Y'all are all beautiful! No matter what but doesn't hurt to be healthy :-)
This was so helpful! Thankyou!
Realest weight loss story I’ve seen. You are similar to my height. I just started a 12 week program, I want to lose 20 pounds. I know it won’t happen overnight, but I will get there.
This has helped me so much! I have a sustainable plan now :))
One of my fav yo tubers! Love how your so down to earth and not someone who does fitness for a living and shows how to balance it with life. Lots of love❤❤❤
Being conscious of how much you eat is important, but at the same time the calories don’t matter. It’s where the calories are coming from that matter.
I have taken nutrition classes, and my dad was a personal trainer 🤷🏻♀️ nice try though
Lol.
i watched at least 60 weight loss videos and honestly this one helped me the most, thank you so much
