Thanks man. I do have a shorter rod but my expeience is with the barbless hooks this rod has very moderate action to keep the fish pinned and can handle big fish. This is like a flyrod. Maybe I just haven't found the right short rod yet. I was holding my Ugly Stick ul 5 footer and it seem like what I need. Not glamorous but seems like it would do well.
