This man toured relentlessly for over 20 years, I’ve seen him 15 times myself. We will wait, let him rest, raise his kids, and enjoy the life he earned. The true fans will be here.♥️
Jonny was one of the best shows I’ve seen in over 30 years of concerts! He inspired me from a young age and I went on to spend an 18 year career singing, traveling and playing blues rock guitar. I’m forever indebted to Jonny for the inspiration he has given me. I saw him open for Blues Traveler and I love them, but got tickets to see Jonny. He was touring his Lie To Me debut album. One of my all time favorites, if not my number 1! Dude has it and has been such a blessing to my life and soul. Pulling for him to heal, not even necessarily tour again. Yes, that would be fantastic, yet just to heal. Love him always🙏💙🌅
First time I heard Jonny Lang I was blown away of his intencity ìn his performing, you could feel him, the pain or whatever he let out in the songs. Loved it! Still do! ❤🙏
I had the opportunity to see Jonny perform twice in-person. He's an incredible act with great powerful messages in his music! He's been a big influence on me as a guitarist and singer. I really hope he gets well soon and gets back out on the road. The world definitely needs a good soul like him right now.
Johnny’s music came straight from his soul. There is no question that he was wide open and giving it 110% when he was on stage. It’s miraculous really. I sure hope he can reinvent his creations to express his older self. A human body just can’t handle the way he use to do it. You’re a legend, Johnny! Ill wait for the day we can meet the new you 👊🍻
SRV is my favorite musician, and the first time I heard Jonny, I got the chills like I still do listening to SRV. I sincerely hope that Jonny returns to making more music... I love his voice and the way he can tear up that guitar. ❤
I am 46 years old and Johnny has been an influence on my playing. I was into hair metal up to after I heard Johnny and started learning the pentatonic scale."Wonder this world' changed my world. What I'm saying is I love Johnny.
Very cool, I am the same way. I was a hair metal, and Van Halen guy. And I have moved away from it over the years and I am working on a blues album and Jonny is one of my biggest influences as well as Kenny Wayne Shepherd and I gotta say I have been enjoying the new John Mayer album that has that yacht rock feel to it
I guess you missed SRV. I'm 55. That 10 years made a LOT of difference. And I LOVE Lang. He's what I call a "Poor Man's SRV". I can play Lang. Best of luck with SRV.
I've seen him live on 6 occasions. He's my age and I've been following him from the early days, when I first saw him play live on Conan. Best concert I've seen in my life, was Jonny's acoustic set, at the House of Blues on Sunset Strip, circa 2005. He had gotten engaged there a year or two before and said it was one of his favorite venues to play. He sat the entire show, and proceeded to deliver the most intense revelation of blues I'd ever heard.. He was channeling something really special that night, more so that any other of the great shows of his I'd seen. One song in particular, it was actually a Stevie Wonder cover, "have a talk with God". For me, that experience will forever go down as a moment of pure musical bliss. He took us to church, the whole audience was on board. I saw the genius in him totally unimpeded, he was really laying it down, right in the pocket - in a way that began to melt faces. His intensity was always there. He, more than any other artist I've seen (lots of the greats) always delivered 150% on stage. I hope he comes back to play some more for us, but even if he doesn't, it wont erase the legacy of blues and gospel he left us. Hes got a great family, I'm sure hes enjoying family time and raising his kids right. I've got a hunch we'll see him again : )
Loved Jonny Lang back in the day❣ Thought he was a fantastic blues/rock guitarist & singer, & that voice - So powerful for such a young guy❗ Bought his first two albums, but lost track of him over the years since. But in recent years I heard a singer (Spenser Sutherland) a contestant from the T.V. talent show "The X Factor", do a version of the Teddy Swims song "Lose Control", & whose style & voice instantly reminded me of Jonny Lang! And suddenly I was wondering whatever happened to Jonny, & came across your UA-cam video about him. Thanks so much for the update, and the info on him, and his career. I too hope we hear about him dropping a new album soon - since I now considered him one of those music influences that came before a (Spenser Sutherland, or a Teddy Swims for that matter), that many people probably have forgotten about❓Interesting, but I'm waiting to hear from Jonny again too❗👍
I brought my wife to his concert on September 19, 2019 at The Newton Theatre, in Newton, New Jersey (quite a remote location for New Jerseans). We were blown away. It was the best concert I have ever been to. Not sure when his voice problems started, but he was 100% fire that night.
Something made me listen to Lie To Me just the other day and brought it all back to me. I been listening to him everyday since. I looked him up to see what happened to him and I read about his voice issues. What disappointing news. Glad that you made this video. I hope something positive comes out of his dilemma. I used to sing his songs, my favorites were Missing Your Love, Still Raining, and Lie to Me. Thank you.
I grew up listening to Jonny Lang with my dad. I went to 10 of his concerts and met him a hand full of times at some of his shows. He did influence some of my own songwriting. He's a really cool person to meet. I hope he can make a musical comeback somehow!
The talent of Jonny Lang is incredible but sad that he’s had to stop from throat issues but not surprised. Lots of people have this problem when they sing like Jonny.
Jonny is very, very talented and his emotion and passion is contagious! Not only am I influenced by Jonny Long, his guitar playing, vocals... my band "Rack'em Up" play's many of his songs and hopefully do them justice. Yes, the name comes from Jonny's song, Rack'em Up. Got the chance to see him live a few times and always thought that his voice was not going to last. My vocal teacher Mark Baxter helped Jonny get his voice back in 2017 the first time he blew it out. I think this time though, he Blew Up The House!! If you know what I mean. I agree, would love to at least see him come back with his guitar in hand. I think we will one of these days, as you know a Quitter Never Wins!! Jonny is no quitter!
bought my tickets to see him in Toledo, Ohio for my mom's 40th birthday, I think it was. It was a surprise...we told her we were going to the grand opening of a Wendy's and Dave Thomas and THE WENDY were going to be there. Johnny Lang is how my mom got me loving the blues. I was 20. thank you, Mom. Thank you, Johnny!!
I have that first cd and all his others. I heard his bounce was damaged. But wow what a voice and when he plays he puts every part of his body into it.
Saw him in his last concert at the BellyUp. Love all his music and I have been following him from the beginning. I hope and pray he can return to his love of singing, which we will all delight in his awesome sound. He is the best! ❤❤❤
Reading through the comments reminds me of individualism. There are some bizarre people in this world…but they’ve got their individual space. Appreciated the presentation. 👍 I met Jonny - both his music and the man - in 2008 in Fort Lauderdale. A friend was touring with him as back-up singer. I had never even heard Jonny’s name. We visited a bit after the concert. I was thoroughly impressed with Jonny’s integrity. Individual integrity. I’m not a musician. I’m not even certain I like music all that well. I probably only like the math aspect. Individuals and character integrity are more important to me. The hour spent hanging around the buffet after the concert with my friend and Jonny are why I listen to him. His art comes from his soul. God’s speed, Jonny. 🙏
Man I almost can’t type this. I was in the kitchen the first time I heard him. I heard this big man voice, and I walked into the living room to see this barefooted no shirt kid who looked like he was about 14 years old. I think he was 16 at the time. He was on Austin City Limits. Me and my dad were big-time fans after that. I got to go see him twice in Tulsa. His song Breakin’ Me is the love of my life and my song. I lost him July 12 of this year about a month ago. This song will always always mean everything to me. Jonny I hope you’re doing OK.
I loved Jonny lang. I have the kids lang album. I saw him on a local tv spot when I was 14 and loved it. He was also in the Blues Brothers 2000 movie. He "found" Jesus at some point and has a bunch of kids now.
dude you didn't even mention his best album "Turn Around". Anyway, Jonny was my favorite artist at Byron Bay Blues Fest around 2010 and still influences me today. His song "Only a man" has often moved me to tears
He's my favorite live performer. Praying for his full recovery. Obviously, his health and family are most important, but selfishly I also want him to get better so I can see him perform again!!
Well, I guess I’m very lucky as I’ve seen Jonny Lang 15 times and I also got to see his last performance at belly up and impatiently waiting for him to return on the touring scene. We really miss him
You underrate this remarkable artist. I saw that Disney concert where he was backed by Double Trouble, and was completely hooked...not to mention blown away. Have seen him live several times, all among my best live music memories. I pray he makes a full recovery, but if not, my heart is full. Fantastic artist.
Walking Away was my favorite song.He even did a song written by Ike Turner that I liked. For some reason his singing reminded me of Delbert Mcclinton.A Texas Blues man from way back.I miss Johnnie and play him every time I see a juke box.Good job.New sub.
I'm a huge SRV fan and I remember watching Johnny Lang on the Disney channel and was amazed! I am glad you did this piece on him because I always wondered what happened to him and why he vanished from the music scene.
I saw Jonny on Direct TV and had to research him. Six years later I got to see him in concert with Buddy Guy and my mind was blown away. I got to see him the next year again with Buddy Guy. The biggest influence on me was the fact that everything I thought I knew about the guitar was not enough. Love that guy.
I saw Jonny Lang 5 times.Incredible stamina. I can't believe he just left and no interviews, nothing. He could still play and get a singer . KWS has a singer. Jonny Lang did guest play lead on 3 Hanson songs. I saw him guest with them live in NYC at the Hammerstein ballroom. Another 14 year old blues prodigy, Taj Farrant now living in the USA is signed to the same booking agent as Lang and KWS. Check him out. He could definitely be the next Lang or Hendrix even. Similar story. Started with Rob Thomas and Carlos Santana. Saw him live too and he's a mind blower with two recent #1 hit singles on the blues charts in 3 countries. Taj has to protect that young gruff voice too. Thanks for asking after Jonny.
I’d love to have some new music from Jonny Lang. That first album was fire and then he just kind of faded away. I always wondered what became of him, such a shame about his voice. He sounded like a 50 year old black man in a blues club when he was 14, and I say that with the greatest respect.
Thanks for the update, I didn't know what was going on with him. I saw Johnny from his youngest days as I am from Fargo, ND, where he started. They played in some bars, and Johnny had to go outside during the breaks as he wasn't old enough to be in the bar. You have great information here but your background video is highly distracting.
There is a young 13 years old Australian guitar phenomenon touring around the states right now. This kid is obsessed with the blues rock scene and is just starting his meteoric rise. He is just finding his vocal chaps now. TAJ FARRANT.. Remember that name and tell me who he reminds you of as a young teen. The kid proforms barefoot on stage too, LOL...Amazing young artist. Always loves Jonny, saw him on tour with Buddy Guy 4 years or so back. He is still got it.....
Went to see Jonny Lang on the Lie to me tour, he opened for Keb Mo. Great show! Saw him again many years later with Kenny Wayne Shepherd. KWS band was great! Jonny was good, but short on songs, opting for more extended jams on just a few songs. Seemed to be in a very spiritual place and seemed to be trying to incorporate some praise and worship into his live show. Other than Lie to me and a couple others, the highlight for me was a Stevie Wonder cover. For sure he was a huge influence and inspiration for me. That Lie To Me album is so good.
Very cool, the past year I have really gotten into Kenny Wayne Shephard, got myself an octave fuzz to get the Blue on Black lead sound. I may need to do a video on him soon.
I followed him. Hahaha. Never missed a concert when he was close. I absolutely love him. I’ve been to many concerts- including Eric Clapton, buddy guy, and Jonny lang hands down was the best concert I’ve ever seen. Love love love him. ❤
I’m from Illinois, and lived in Chicago for 14 years. While there, I would win tickets to shows on the radio. I won tickets to see Jonny Lang, Buddy Guy, and BB King. I was super excited because I was a big Buddy Guy fan at the time and had seen him multiple times in Chicago. Jonny Lang, who I was familiar with, opened the show . It was an outdoor theater, the shadows were getting long and out steps this barefoot, skinny, blonde haired, white boy that just tore the stage up. Long story short , he blew Buddy and B.B away that night in my humble opinion Longtime fan.
I ‘ve been blessed to see Jonny twice in Phoenix and twice in San Antonio the last 6 years. Praying his voice returns and he can perform again. A truly awesome and talented performer.
I discovered him one night when I tuned in to Austin City Limits and I was BLOWN AWAY! I became an instant fan. I saw him live once at an outdoor venue in Atlanta and he DID NOT disappoint.
Saw him once, I think opening for either Jeff Beck or BB. He impressed the hell out of me with the material, his vocals, playing, and authenticity. He's the real thing. When he came out I liked that he wasn't in a rush to be the next SRV like others at the time.
We used to catch his show at the Rib Cook Off in Sparks, Nevada in the very late 90's.. Amazing young man and he had the crowd going!! I bought his first 2 CDs as well. Couldn't get enough of him!! I am really sad to hear about his voice and hope he can heal up. Meatloaf went through this too, with voice issues.
When that kid came out with "Breakin' Me"...I think he was 17 or 18 when he did it...I was BLOWN AWAY. The kid sounded like a 45 year old black man, singing the blues. Saw him do a duet of "When Love Comes to Town" with Joss Stone...AMAZING. Then he just disappeared. Apparently found Jesus or some shit. Whatever. I think he's in his 40's now...miss his voice.
Saw him live after I fell in love with Fight For My Soul album and knew most of the words. Amazing performer. I feel so fortunate to have experienced him live.
I agree 100%. I saw a few months ago Doug Ellin, who was the guy who created Entourage was looking for something bluesy as an intro instrumental for his new show Ramble On, and I sent Doug a message saying “tap Jonny Lang for that” and he wasn’t familiar with Jonny at first and he sent me a message saying “we are going to contact his people his style of playing is exactly what we are looking for.” If it is a hit show then this could be a bit of a resurgence for him.
I just got a new Les Paul and when ya learn to dial those things in one the volume and tone knobs they are something special. This is the only guitar I have ever had where I spend time going through a variety of tones by simply using the volume and tone knobs. So it makes sense to me he would switch to a Les Paul
I met Jonny in Orlando, and got to see that Disney concert live. I was a bit younger than him, and already into the blues, thinking of Dr John, BB, SRV, and Eric Clapton and was blown away. I grew up in Fullerton, CA blues bars. It's still my hope to play one. My first guitar? Sparkle candy apple red, Squier Telecaster
I hope he recovers, I've always loved his music. Kenny Wayne has always been my favorite, but there is a woman named Samantha Fish that blew me away. Her older stuff is as blues as you can get,but later on that she changed her sound quite a bit, and I think it was that people were givin her crap about being a female blues player from Kansas city. Or it could have been the label. I don't know for sure. Maybe both. She's starting to get back into the sound and style of her older stuff. If you haven't already, give a listen to her older material. She done a lot of covers, but she also had some awesome originals. I think you'll like it.
I'm a big time fan of Jonny Lang. I didn't know who he was. Didn't even know his name until the blues Brothers 2000 came out and he had a short little sequel in that movie and he had me. He hooked me big time. Fan of Johnny Lang. Nothing but good things to say about him. Love him
I saw a program with Blues guitarists once, my favorite Jeff Beck was played off the stage. Finally, it was only Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy who were playing.
@ldeledgar1763 What absolute garbage you spew out. His music is his own. Let's hear your music then you can mouth off without looking like a complete moron.
"I used to hang out down at Jack's pool hall, go down there, don't do nothin at all.... you wanted to play some cards, there was a game in the back! You wanted a shot of somethin, you went and talk to Jack. He had a little money, was a grade-A fool, there was a guy a down a there who used to shoot a lil pool, rack em up!"
Only thing I don't like about Lang is almost all of his songs are too intense and painful. Eze up a little Johnny. I saw him at 16 couldn't believe the skill he acquired in less than 4 years.
To your end of your video - if he did a guest appearance with someone, and honestly I want a "revolutionary" collab - someone not associated with blues and everyone goes "what is that SOUND?!?" whenever I'm in guitar center and they hear my licks and how I set up, it'll be so cool if people go "oh, dude!! That's Jonny!!"
Oh man, A friend of mine introduced me to Jonny years ago, through his Turnaround album. To this day it's one of the best albums I've ever heard. Raw, open, real. He actually did win a Grammy for that album, for best Rock/Gospel Album (if I'm not mistaken). I realize this video was more of a dive into his musical career, and less the personal side of things. But it's cool to hear about why he wanted to make a "Christian" album and the stuff he was going through. But really, incredible artist!!
First time I saw Johnny was on live TV, at Rock im Park in Germany in 1999 I think. Second time was live in New York, maybe 10 years ago. Long may he run❤
I miss Jonny Lang. I've seen Jonny in concert several times and he was/is one of my favorite live performers. He was scheduled to play in Nashville and I already had my tickets when the tour was cancelled. I wish there was an update on how he is doing. And even if he's still not over his vocal issues, I'd love to see him wail on the guitar again. Jonny and KWS were two of my favorite young guitarists of that time. Praying his music career is not done.
I've listened to Jonny Lang since his Lie to Me CD came out. Love him; I hope he's healing his awesome voice - I'll be ready to hear more ... when he's ready. Air Hugs !!!
I have seen Jonny Lang twice in concert. I was able to talk to him a bit in person and he is the nicest and most down-to-earth person. And he is by far the best live artist I have ever seen. I love his guitar style. He is not given the credit he deserves. I hope he comes back.
Just played Lie to Me at a gig last night with my cover band. So sorry to hear about his vocal troubles. Like you say, would love to hear and see him featured as a guitarist, even if he stays the “silent type” while his vocal chords hopefully heal. However, I can imagine how devastating it must be to have that amazing voice taken from you and it causing you to put down the guitar for a while… 🤞That we see him back in top form.
I miss him and I'm praying for his prosperity and full recovery. He's a fantastic singer, writer and guitar player. The intensity of his voice is so strong and I wasn't surprised to hear he had some trouble with his voice. HOPING HE CAN COME BACK STRONG...if he wants to.
We were fortunate to see Jonny Lang in Fresno in 2019 - even though he was sick, he put on one heck of a show, so glad we had the opportunity to see him.
You know that young man Johnny Lang Was part of the reason why I started watching blues Brothers 2000 He did a wonderful lead guitar part that got me interested in playing And he did that song better than both Eddie Floyd and Wilson Pickett put together To have him among a lot of blues Masters Jonny Lang earned my respect I hope I get a chance to see him and meet him and I also would like to thank him for being my inspiration that's why I can tell you I love Johnny Lang ❤❤❤❤
I talked to Johnny when he was touring with the Stones . He was very humble and very nice guy . He toured for years . I’m sure he wanted a break with his family
I know, however, I thought Page sounded best with a Les Paul. The telecaster sound he had was thin compared to that big sound from the Les Paul. And honestly I was never a big fan of Page as a guitarist.
Tks for this. I saw a video interview of Jonny, and he said."If I lost my hands for some reason. I think i would learn to play guitar with my feet" So, if hes happy playing..God bless. I`ll listen to what we have!
Are you familiar with DANNY CARON? He's my favorite living guitarist. He's got such a fluid, melodic style. But what impresses me most is that he's got this unique *Spiritual* quality in his playing that I don't hear anywhere else. 'Good Hands', 'How Sweet It Is', and the unimaginatively titled 'Jazz + Blues' are three discs I absolutely love!
I cannot say I am but I will give him a tumble this afternoon after work. Thanks for the suggestion. I have recently gotten into Quinn Sullivan’s stuff and if you aren’t familiar with him check him out
@@cutofthejib Thanks, I'll do that! With a name like Quinn Sullivan, how can he go wrong? Sounds like a great character from a Charles Dickens story, or a tough P.I. from a Film Noir classic!
It really sucks that he can't sing anymore and I know it's a big part of who he is...but he could easily get together with a vocalist and keep making music as a guitarist and songwriter. I just don't get it. He's a huge talent and the musical world is a lesser place without him.
I personally agree. But I also realize we are on the outside looking in. He had been making music non-stop for 20 years. Maybe he needed a break as well. I hope in a few years we will see him back to making music and back on tour.
I remember hearing him on the radio. And all the buzz about this kid. I don't know where I actually saw him play (not live), but he was mind-blowing. The sound coming out of this young guy was absolutely Amazing! A child prodigy? Although I think Johnny started playing at 12. As for his voice, I took a few singing lessons back in the day and the first and most important thing to learn is to breathe from the diaphragm. Otherwise the singing is coming from the vocal cords and they can strain easily. I remember reading that Tom Jones, after he became popular, had to relearn how to sing because he was starting to strain his voice. Brian Johnson of ACDC, don't know how he hasn't lost his voice altogether. Saw him being interviewed and he could hardly talk. He and the ADCD gang though, are on tour again. Go figure. There must be some detailed information on Johnny's current condition and plans out there somewhere. Thanks for all the details in your video. Much appreciated 👍.
When Johnny line pretty much hit the scene I ran out to his album and I listen to the whole thing I think until the CD player threw it at me j/k.. and years later I had to do a turnaround road trip with my dad for family business... And we went down we did what we needed to do and stuff and my dad would go to sleep I did 90% of the driving he found out that he was okay with being a dashboard puppy ... I brought some of my music with me to listen to and the Harry Potter CDs,. More than once I thought my dad was asleep but it turns out we only exact same albums I was in my early thirties and we haven't spoken since my late teens and we were out he was having truck problems so we had to stop at a Walmart when I went in we bought a travel pillow and you don't want to cheat $2 blankets my dad needed to call over and I still was retired so we slept for about 3 hours 33 and a half hours we got up and he was more rested than me so he drove for a little while then he woke me up and he said I'm having trouble driving straight I was like okay well we need to stop over so that we can both get around to the spot where we needed to be.. the next accept was a half a mile away and we went off and we got a gas station I got some caffeine in the form of really bad coffee and we both got something to eat as soon as it was done eating he asked me what I was going to play next he didn't want to hear Harry Potter he wanted to listen to my music that I wasn't even then quite sure why he likes the same things I did not that he was an older than me right right man when he picked out Jonny Lang's first CD we had an okay trip going but coming back to Minnesota it was fantastic and he told me many things before he died right before he died actually he reminded me what he said to me on that trip it was the best damn road trip ever been on and it meant more than the world it was like he was a new father all over again with me and he was going to do his best to undo some that crappy did but he didn't know we also read a lot of the same history books, same movies, and music all I can say people if you're estranged from one parent and or two or three you never know what mattered some people are on but anyways talk to them ask them questions about them and how they have dealt with the loss of the relationship I was 33 at the time but I guarantee you I spent 36 years almost refusing to talk to him because he was loud and big and I was so small scared me and I let him know why you don't have to be madly in love with your parents try to resolve what kept you apart nobody's going to like everything they here and not everybody's wounds or imagined but one thing's for sure thanks to a kid it open us up to start talkin R. I. P pops
Also the John Mayer connection can be made through Zane Carney. Zane took over for his brother Reeve as Jonny’s guitarist and then Zane went on to play for John Mayer.
This man toured relentlessly for over 20 years, I’ve seen him 15 times myself. We will wait, let him rest, raise his kids, and enjoy the life he earned. The true fans will be here.♥️
Same ! Totally agree ❤
Well said
and still only 40 LMAO!
AMEN!
I will ❤
Love, love , love Jonny Lang. Incredible voice and guitarist and songwriter. Vastly underrated. Gives me goosebumps every time.
I am 79 and a huge fan of Jonny Lang and have been since his first album
61 and I love him too.
Me too I'm 69❤🇬🇧
I'm 77 and liked and have liked Johnny Lang since I first heard him in 1996.
77 and I adore him!!!
Ill wait for the day we can meet the new you 👊🍻
I heard he had an alcohol issue ,got sober and became a Christian. The man is a terrific song writer and musician. Much respect.
🙏
Love Jonny's music. Thanks for the update. Really hope he recovers and can perform again. Always seemed like a good dude.
And I have moved away from it over the years and I am working on a blues album and Jonny is one of my biggest influences as well as Kenny Wayne Shepherd and I gotta say I have been enjoying the new John Mayer album that has that yacht rock feel to it
Wander
I guess you missed SRV. I'm 55. That 10 years made a LOT of difference. And I LOVE Lang. He's what I call a "Poor Man's SRV". I can play Lang. Best of luck with SRV.
Big fan of Jonny Lang, great musician and love his vocals! Sending prayers for him 🙏

Thank you.
You named my all time favorites also
I grew up listening to Jonny Lang with my dad.
That is an awesome story. I hope we all get a chance to see him again soon and that his voice heals up.
I have that first cd and all his others. I heard his bounce was damaged. But wow what a voice and when he plays he puts every part of his body into it.
Yup Jonny has influenced my playing and I’ve met him and he’s a great man of God🙌🏼
I met Jonny - both his music and the man - in 2008 in Fort Lauderdale.
I didn't hear of Jonny Lang until I saw him barefoot playing still raining on SNL. I was a fan instantly!!!!
I heard him back in the 90'es and love him by the first sound. We wan't Jonny back!
Johnny Lang's "Lie To Me" made me wanna sing it...😀
Great song
I have a feel this time off he could be writing for his biggest album ever.
@@cutofthejib I hope so, I'm so ready!
I’ll give his stuff a look
Yep I just posted about him too.
I went to see Johnny Lang and it was the most wonderful concert that I have ever been to.
Jonny Lang won a Grammy for Turn Around.
@@cutofthejib nice, looking forward to that!
I followed him. Hahaha. Never missed a concert when he was close. I absolutely love him. I’ve been to many concerts- including Eric Clapton, buddy guy, and Jonny lang hands down was the best concert I’ve ever seen. Love love love him. ❤
Red Light was and is great. His sisters singing in that video. Love the video too. Anthony Hamilton wrote that.
Always so exceptional, true musician. defied description, a cut above as a guitarist and amazing gut wrenching blues.
Thanks so much for your update! I saw him twice in person and really miss his presence. It would be wonderful to see him instrumentally.
Loved Jonny lang since I saw hi the first time! I believe he is the best ! Wish him future comeback with great family life!
I am surprised this kid ... Has lots of talents... And gifts...
DANNY GATTON... also known as "The Humbler" & "The Telemaster". By far the greatest guitarist I've ever heard & seen and... he did it on a Telecaster.
Jonny Lang walked so John Mayer could run. His Disney concert in the 90s was epic.
I saw him twice in the early 2000s.
His shows were always powerful...
He recorded his last couple albums on a Les Paul, surprisingly.
I just got a new Les Paul and when ya learn to dial those things in one the volume and tone knobs they are something special. This is the only guitar I have ever had where I spend time going through a variety of tones by simply using the volume and tone knobs. So it makes sense to me he would switch to a Les Paul
Yes, still listening and it still feels like the first time 😊
I met Jonny in Orlando, and got to see that Disney concert live.
Saw that concert on tv.
Love him
I hate that this was the only video on this subject, because this was horrific to sit through
Love Jonny Lang❤
I saw a program with Blues guitarists once, my favorite Jeff Beck was played off the stage. Finally, it was only Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy who were playing.
He married a California Bee Bopper, had kids and his music went bubblegum.
@ldeledgar1763 What absolute garbage you spew out. His music is his own. Let's hear your music then you can mouth off without looking like a complete moron.
I saw him twice he is my Favorite. 🙏He will be back.
That is awesome. I’m surprised more do not talk about him when they speak on modern greats in blues
To your end of your video - if he did a guest appearance with someone, and honestly I want a "revolutionary" collab - someone not associated with blues and everyone goes "what is that SOUND?!?"
whenever I'm in guitar center and they hear my licks and how I set up, it'll be so cool if people go "oh, dude!! That's Jonny!!"
Have loved Johnnys music sence first cd prayers that his voice heals befor i leave this world want to hear more from him ❤
Saw Jonny perform at the Cape Cod Melody Tent around 2009/2010 ish. Loved his stuff since I was 14.
Yeah Jonny is a big Christian as is his wife. And that is really cool
ALWAYS LOVED JONNY LANG… BRILLIANT ❤️❤️
We were fortunate to see Jonny Lang in Fresno in 2019 - even though he was sick, he put on one heck of a show, so glad we had the opportunity to see him.
You know that young man
Johnny Lang
Was part of the reason why I started watching blues Brothers 2000
He did a wonderful lead guitar part that got me interested in playing
And he did that song better than both Eddie Floyd and Wilson Pickett put together
To have him among a lot of blues Masters Jonny Lang earned my respect
I hope I get a chance to see him and meet him and I also would like to thank him for being my inspiration that's why I can tell you I love Johnny Lang ❤❤❤❤
I met jonny Lang in person 14 years ago. The best singer and guitarist. Wish he could tour again. ❤❤❤
He won a Grammy for Turn Around.
I love Jonny. This video was super informative. He was truly phenomenal.
I talked to Johnny when he was touring with the Stones . He was very humble and very nice guy . He toured for years . I’m sure he wanted a break with his family
Dude..
Jimmy Page plays Telecaster.
The entire Zeppelin 1 was recorded with that guitar..
I know, however, I thought Page sounded best with a Les Paul. The telecaster sound he had was thin compared to that big sound from the Les Paul. And honestly I was never a big fan of Page as a guitarist.
The solo in Stairway to Heaven, from the studio album, is a telecaster. His original tele from the 60s. That is not a thin sounding tone.
I first heard Jonny Lang in the Mid90s and I haven’t stopped listening to him since then. Probably daily.
I love Johnny Lang please come back the audience will sing for you.
Also Roy Buchanan and Albert "The Ice Man" Collins.
Roy Buchanan
SteveCropper
Jim Campilongo
Robben Ford
Buddy Guy, Duane Allman, Eric Gales, Samantha Fox, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks Nuff said!
That's what you get for saying Never! ❤
Jonny is my cousin ❤
That is super cool. Any insight if he plans on returning? Him and his wife seem like the most awesome people.
