One thing that impresses me of the PS Vita is the sound quality. Not enough people point that out. The bass is deep and satisfying, vocals are crystal clear, it's a real delight to listen to the sounds in games like Exstetra and Conception 2.
I think a handheld player's experience is incomplete if he choses only one of them. You really have to own both to get the best portable games being released in this generation. Vita has the quirky, funny Japanese games and RPGs, 3DS has the solid Nintendo titles that can be played for hours on end.
Honestly, this point gets overlooked mostly due to the fact that most of the time, people tend to use headphones on their portable devices.
You can download full titles on the 3DS. You're right on pretty much every point, but on that particular point of "Buying cards for the 3DS", you're full of it. The Vita and the 3DS have the same type of "Big titles in retail AND download" system.
I'm not trying to say 3DS > Vita or Vita > 3DS. The higher quality screen doesn't mean much. Sure, I get rehashes of the same material, but they do enough with that material that I enjoy it.
It's no different than when Call of Duty is rehashed again and again or when Halo or some other series you may enjoy. Even sports games are guilty of this.
Fact of the matter is that EVERYONE'S playing safe in the game industry nowadays, be it Nintendo or someone else.
I just happen to prefer Nintendo because that's what I grew up with and that's what I feel happy with. I've got a PC and a Wii U and that's good enough of a gaming setup for me. If you play otherwise, good on you. The second you think you're better than anyone else because you like more "mature" video games or even if you hold it as a triumph that you like more relaxing games, you're less mature than the chill guy playing Pokémon in the back of class or the guy who invests all of his time and money into buying the latest Madden game while being a drone of his father.
+Esper Vita:
1. Need for Speed most wanted (You can't even compare this to the old DS
version of this game).
2. Uncharted
3. Jak and Daxter
4. Killzone
5. Playstation all stars
6. Soul Sacrifice (Incredibly similar to Monster hunter)
7. God Of War
8. HellDivers
9. Final Fantasy (Although 3DS has a few, Vita has ALOT more, and the
best versions, X/X-2 etc)
10. Unit 13
11. Borderlands 2
12. Gravity Rush
13. Rayman Origins
14. Toukiden the age of demons
15. Tekken vs Street Fighter
16. Assassins Creed III Liberation
17. Persona 4 Golden
18. Sword art online
19. Wipeout 2048
20. Dynasty Warriors
21. Sly cooper
Vita also has entire metal gear solid collection, vs only 1 on 3ds.
And Ninja Gaiden sigma, which is the best version, also not available on
3ds....
And this is just a few, I didn't even bother going on. Did you notice
how I didn't have to rely on the same damn game 5 times? Every single
game here is unique and has a completely different experience. Can you
honestly say the same about Nintendo?
TheTechInstinct As a person who's changed perspectives for the past three months, no, I can't. I like Nintendo, but they're declining sharply in quality.
When Nintendrones start turning, that marks the death of the company.
12:15 hey. You can download with a 3ds
zues121510 cool
The comment you made about the N3DS's CPU being a dual core isn't correct. The CPU in it has been upgraded from a Dual Core ~200 MHz processor to a Quad Core ~800 MHz. The ~200 MHz mode is enabled by default for compatibility, however with hacking, it can be forced to run at ~800 MHz all the time, which makes menus faster and snappier compared to the original model. Developers can take advantage of the faster hardware for N3DS for better graphics and faster loading times. That is quite an improvement compared to the older generation. Just wanted to point that out, but good video none the less.
*facepalm* you can play digital games as well on the 3DS -.- also the second thumb stick accessory is only for the old 3DS as the new one has it built in. Finally if I want to consume media I have my tablet, watch or phone.
You didn't notice that the "new" 3DS has a right analog nub? The "new" 3DS doesn't need an analog accessory, and for that matter, is not a size that fits in accessories built for any other 3DS model. :/
Remember when games and consoles were about fun? Hah, what primative times! We gamers will die before we just have fun and realize what console you play on doesn't matter.
You sir are a gamer :3
Having both I must say: All the Vita's extra juice doesn't stand for much when a lot of the games perform sub-par (Even AAA Sony titles). The higher resolution screen also means little when most games are not running at the Vita's native resolution. The OLED's still produce spectacular colours though.
All I'm saying is: Don't dismiss the 3DS just because it's 'weaker' than the Vita.
Out of the two, I spend most my time on 3DS with a higher level of consistency in quality/ performance from AAA titles than the Vita (As well as more support in the form of titles from the manufacturer).
In my time with both I have found the 3DS to be pleasantly surprising and the Vita to be a little disappointing. As always, your mileage may vary.
3DS has a better library, period. Sony didn't support the VITA, and it failed to gain any traction in the market.
What's the point to compare these two? They both hv their exclusive games, it depends on which game u really dig into, not the console itself...
That's why he said in the end of the video: "Keep in mind I really can't recomend one device over the other if I don't know what your personal preferences are and what kind of special features you prefer, my job is just to basically to present the information to you guys".
Mautrus He probably could have presented the information better.
(e.g., The 3DS also downloads full retail games.)
Exactly. Just look at the 3DS sales v.s. PS Vita sales..... then feel bad for Sony
^
Helpful breakdown man. Cheers
New 3DS XL with ARM9LoaderHax is the way to go!
You can also download full games on the 3DS through the Nintendo eShop. So that's not a feature exclusive to the PS Vita.
Thumps up and to my favs list, you deserve it. *applauds*
Thank you for the video. It's really good
No mention of sleep mode time.
Don't know about N3DS, but my 3DSXL dies in about 3 days if i forget to turn it off.
So if i've played a couple of hours on friday and left it in my pocket till monday, it's dead, full-stop.
VITA can last a literal month in sleep mode.
I tested it. Accidentally.
vita sleep mode is great
awesome fare comparison, you did a great job informing. but like any comparison vid there is going to be hate because die hard fans are going to think you are taking sides
Just to be clear you can download just about every game available on the 3ds, so this is not a feature exclusive to the Vita as the video seemed to imply. For the past year or longer almost every single game that came to store was also available as a download.
Hopefully several people said this but the 3DS can download full retail releases.
But you can also download full games on ds though.
I'm very well informed that it's a 3ds, thank you very much.
I love your profile dude.
If you are talking to me, thanks!
The PS Vita is an awesome piece of hardware but Sony's support for it sucks. I used to have one and I totally enjoyed playing games like Uncharted or Gravity Rush on it. The games look really good but sadly nobody wanted to buy the system and Sony decided against the system. Nintendo's 3DS doesn't play games in HD and the system doesn't have as much power as the PS Vita hast but the games that Nintendo releases for the 3DS are awesome: Zelda, Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Mario Kart, Super Mario, Super Smash Bros., Kid Icarus, the list goes on and on...
I really hope that Nintendo's next handheld system has a lot more power.
I totally agree with you i recently sold my vita because of lack.of support. Sony kind of put buyers off at release with its huge price not only that the memory sticks cost alot
wth is this? there are so many mistakes in this video.
you can download full retail games on the 3DS, too.
1:24 you forgot the thumbsticks on the vita. so both devices are almost exactly the same size. vita being slightly bigger overall.
cant remember the over mistakes. not wanna see the whole video again
I'm leaning towards the PS Vita...
+KittyCrumbs it depends on your preference if u prefer jrpgs, fps, Anime games and indies the vita is a lot better if u prefer Nintendo exclusives 3ds is better
Going to share my thoughts on the end points.
New 3DS:
Head Tracking - Cool feature that makes the 3D actually viable but its not perfect and messes up with people who wear glasses. I have to take off my glasses when using this feature most of the time to take advantage of it so I don't run into glitches which imo is far from ideal for a portable system.
C Stick - It's pretty much an older laptops nub but used as a second analog and it works surprisingly well. That said, it's not something new, nor is it something that really sets it apart from what the Vita already has. No... it's something that should have been there from the get go and now gives you a more proper gaming control scheme. Some people hate the feel of it, personally, I have no qualms with it and found it to be surprisingly good though I don't think it's perfect. I wouldn't mind if it was slightly spaced better though. It's a bit too close to the top and slightly too close to the screen.
ZL and ZR Bumpers - The addition of these is a huge plus imo despite some peoples complaints about slightly awkward positioning. I haven't had any major problems with the positioning of them personally and feel that all dedicated gaming devices should come with 4 shoulder buttons. Like the Nub though, this should have been there from the get go.
Micro SD Cards - This is both a plus and a minus. Having Micro SD means no proprietary memory but it also means you need to buy a whole new SD card and do the long and tedious task of transferring your old data to the new card. This task took me about 1 hour and 45 minutes thanks to me having a 64gb card and using over 40gb of storage without demos. Of course this wouldn't be such a big deal if Nintendo had a better account system in place but that's a whole different story that I'm not even going to get into.
Customized Face Plates - Insult to injury for fans in the Americas as we may never get the smaller New 3DS meaning we may never get to check out the face plates. These are definitely a very cool thing for those who can access them but for us in North, South, and Central America, we've been screwed. I mean seriously Nintendo?! REALLY!?!? Ugh....
Better Battery Life and Replaceable Battery - This is always a huge plus and something that shouldn't be looked over or taken lightly for portable devices. That said, compared to the DSi, even the New 3DS XL's battery life is pretty... meh.... Compared to the old 3DS and the Vita's, it is better, yes, but it definitely could be much better then it is especially considering Vita and 3DS aren't the only things on the market and other devices tend to have much better battery life. Now the ability to replace the battery with a 3rd party one is the real kicker. This means if and when a really good battery does come along, you can slap it right in.
Vita:
Dual Analogs - Yes Vita does have them but they are no longer a pro as the New 3DS technically has them to. Also the argument that they're proper analogs is definitely true and valid, but just because they're actual analogs doesn't make them the end all be all or even better. Imo, they're a bit loose and sensitive and because they're so small they have very small range of motion. This means they require a much softer and more gentle touch then any analog I've used so far, which I personally prefer the firmer more tight analog style found on 360 and PS4. Compared to the New 3DS, while the New 3DS's left slider pad and right pressure nub aren't perfect nor are they proper analogs, they have a better range of motion and require a closer amount of pressure to move them to the 360 and PS4 analogs then the Vita's have. This means while the Vita did have this plus before and while the New 3DS's slider pad and nub are not real analogs, I prefer 3DS's to the Vita's, personally. Another gripe I have is the fact the analogs are so low. This means I can't rest the system in my palms, rather I have to hold it differently then I would a normal controller or even the New 3DS to use dual analogs which I've gotten used to but still don't prefer to do.
Capacity Touch Screen / Rear Pad - This is both a plus and minus. Having capacitive touch screen adds the ability to do more things but at the cost of pin point accuracy. This means it makes it closer to mobile devices in both the good and bad ways. This is a taste and preference thing. I personally like both styles and can see the argument for both. On the other hand, the back touch pad is something completely unique to the Vita and something I'm still completely confused by. Like motion controls, if I had the option to not use it and turn it off I prefer to do that as my fingers lay on it and I don't want that to effect my gameplay. However, if the game uses it in a smart way, I'm not against using it.
Better Quality Screen - This is definitely a plus as, despite the New 3DS having the improved 3D feature, the screen quality is booboo garbage. That said, like the 3DS's battery life compared to DSi's, the Vita's screen quality compared to mobile devices is pretty... meh... The OLED of the original is definitely worth noting but even with it, it's far from the quality of display you'll find on other devices out there.
Remote Play - This is a win/win feature and something I wish the New 3DS would do. Granted a hacker claimed to find the same codec features in the New 3DS that are found in the gamepad but that's not being able to play your system away from home. That said, because I live in an area with unstable net, this isn't a feature I can really take advantage of personally.
Better Media Consumption Device - Yes and No. It has better features in the system with better designed apps for things like Netflix. Not to mention, not being able to play video files on any 3DS is just plain.... derpy. That said, the New 3DS's browser actually plays more video types then the Vita's allowing you to go to more sites and watch stuff that the Vita can't. It even works with more sites then WiiU does for that matter. This means if you're the type that watches all their media on a browser, the New 3DS is actually better.
Download Digital Games - Sure all Vita games are available digitally, which is a huge plus, but most of 3DS's library is also available digitally as well - I'd say about 90% of it to give a rough figure including every Nintendo published game. I personally prefer physical games however I currently have 12 retail games that I bought digitally on 3DS instead of physical. Of the 26 physical games I have on 3DS, only 3 aren't available digitally. Yes I know that there are some good ones that don't have a digital version however most do and I wouldn't really count this as a pro or con for either system because of this.
Better Graphics / Hardware - This is something that shouldn't be overlooked or taken lightly. It's definitely true and noticeable. Even with the improvements to the New 3DS's hardware, the Vita is still a more powerful system. That said, the original 3DS is much closer to the Vita's hardware then DS's was to PSP's, so much so that Resident Evil Revelations and Uncharted Golden Abyss looked as though they could have been on the same system. The New 3DS closes the gap more though it's still not as powerful as the Vita's and you'll still see a noticeable difference.
When you change topics, it sounds like you rush the start of the next topic so fast that it interrupts the last word of the previous topic. Do you normally talk like that, or is it recorded in multiple sessions and pieced together?
I own both consoles and i use my 3DS more often the my PSVita. Why? Because i love games that are actually fun and rewarding, not only that, I can post on Miiverse for help if i get stuck on the specific level and surprisingly i get a post back really quickly. (Another world for example) As for my PSVita, well, i can play most games on PS3 and PS4 there are only a few exclusive games on the console like Uncharted, Killzone ect. Most of the games on the PSVita are just ports from the consoles .-.
Yeah nintendo is known for there fun and with nintendo who cares about graphics when they make the best games, i have ps vita and a dsi but i might buy the "new 3ds" soon hopefully
Demetrius Wilson Same here, i'm a proud owner of both consoles. But i hate to admit that the 3DS graphics are decent, but that does not matter since graphics are a small portion of the game.
Monster Hunter is such a fun game to play imo.
Port Station Vita confirmed.
what i most concern about nn3ds is do the hinge problem been solved by them? I hate when after 2-3 yrs and you heard a popping sound while you angle up your 3ds .....
I recommend the PS Vita over the 3DS series because the PS Vita does not have that many hardware revisions, no different memory card sizes and no friend codes. Nintendo likes to revise their 3DS models A LOT, which makes Nintendo fans (Including myself) waste a lot of money on newer models of the 3DS, which is annoying. Plus, after you buy a brand new 3DS model of your choice, you have to put up with having a different friend code and different SD memory card sizes, which gets really annoying. Nintendo really needs to stop being a few generations behind and start being a few generations ahead. In other words, Nintendo cannot think of any good ideas, so instead, they like to make handhelds by recycling the same Nintendo DS mold over and over again. And one more thing: no matter what model of the 3DS you have, the left analog stick breaks easily because the left stick is not very sturdy.
PC is STILL master race.
But you don't have a PC in your pocket, do you? When you're talking about home consoles, I stand with you. Except Wii U. Wii U is basically WAY ahead of the XBOX and Playstation.
Oktay Yildirim I know, it was a joke.
KamikazePelican Ah. OK. Wii U OP!
Oktay Yildirim Yes, Wii U is the BEST
Trey Lehman Wow. This is the SECOND time you replied to my comment! This has never happened before!
Hehe, Here comes Nintendo fighting back :3 It really unbelievable that you can watch videos in browser now :O
Does the 3ds not also offer digital download games?
You can download full 3DS games from the eShop hollah
For all those who are claiming the PS Vita is better then the New 3DS or Sony being better than Nintendo itself just remember Nintendo had a big part in the creation of the original Playstaion. The PlayStation was going to be an add-on for Nintendo's system but Nintendo backed out, however Sony continued to work on it under the name "PlayStation". Nintendo also saved the gaming franchise after the fall of Atari; so respect Nintendo because without them your PS Vita wouldn't exist.
actually you don't know that in fact no one dose the Video game market could still rebound with out Nintendo
And with out your mom you would't exist SO RESPECT
Jack Elkins its no wonder sony can't make games for shit.
I didn't know this
Playstation was no Add on for a nintendo console. Sony designed a nintendo console for them and they backed out becuz sony wanted their name on the system makin it the Sony Famicon as it woulda been called in Japan. But yes. Playstation cameout as F.U. From sony to nintendo for backin out last second.
You can download full titles on the 3DS as well
Very fair comparison. One thing I don't really get is that you said only the Vita can download full games, but the 3DS can too. (12:08) You don't need to get cartridges every time... Other than that, very interesting. I'm sticking with 3DS because it has games. I don't care if it can't play music or movies, I have a phone for that. I use it to play the quality games on it. The Vita's got some too, but I don't want to buy a way overpriced memory card for them. (Seriously, why not just use SD/Micro SD like the 3DS family?)
I own them both!!! I like both, and play both equally. A little bit of Fire Emblem: Fates (Both Conquest and Birthright) and A little bit of Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Cold Steel, or Rune Factory 4, or Ill play Y's: Memories of Celceta, just to name a few examples. I have more games on the Vita than I do on the 3DS. But my 3DS collection is growing fast, just added Xenoblade Chronicles and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to the mix......... Overall my Video Game collection for all my consoles is overwhelming.
Anyone ever start a game (RPG's For me) and play for about 100+ hours without finishing the story and then just stop playing? I seem to do that all the time, I Have so many games I am 2/3 of the way through that I stopped playing, move on to another game...... Months or even Years later I will start playing again, pick up right where I left off... But I have a tendency to put a lot of time into games and then just quit playing them...... Of course there are some that I cant put down and have beaten and beaten again on NG+ NG++ ETC
You do know you can downlaod digital games on the 3DS too, right?
You can download full 3DS games on the eShop.
Have you think about what would happen if PSV and NN3DS fall over?
The NN3DS will not be very damaged for sure(I have one 3DS and i have falled over7 times and anything was broken)
The PSV will probably be damaged on the back touch screen or on the screen
And about the mobility the PSV will need a bag for sure because if you transposed the PSV in the pocket, the keys would be damaged. (I dont know if i have translated this very well)
In terms of build quality, the PS vita gives a premium feels. But The 3DS has a much larger library of games so to me, Nintendo wins.
I have the 3ds XL and am getting the New 3ds XL on day one release next week, but the ps vita is definitely a great handheld hardware wise and i probably would have gotten it, if more games were on the system that i actually played. I dont understand the whole "console wars" shit people say thinking there system is better then someone elses, when in reality it just depends on what you like game wise.
You can download retail games on the 3DS as well:)
When are they going to start selling that C-stick add on thing for the old 3ds?
Like 3 years ago.
I have to be picky. This comparison was good but when he said the vita is slimmer, I don't think he is taking the thumb sticks into account. It sorta looks to me that if you count the thumb sticks, which I would, the 3ds is slimmer. I say that because I like to keep my handhelds in cases when not in use, and those thumb sticks will require a thicker case.
You can download games on the 3ds as well. Nintendo E-Shop?
A favorite genre of mine is RPG which is why I went with the 3DS as its library was more suited for me (nostalgic run on Pokemon). I'll try picking up a Vita later this year but I don't know which titles to pick up. Any recommendations anyone?
Persona 4 Golden
Gravity Rush
Freedom Wars
Soul Sacrifice Delta
Ys: Memories of Celceta
Muramasa Rebirth
Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment
jotaroxtreme Do any of those titles have internet multiplayer functionality?
Freedom Wars and Soul Sacrifice Delta do.
Can u use games that does not come from that one and can u change laguages
What is the fps game he is playing on the Vita? It looks like Killzone but is not.
The Vita slim battery life is much better than the Oled Vita.
You mentioned Remote Play, but you forgot to mention PlayStation Now. It is a paid rental service, but it increases your potential game library significantly.
If the PS Vita can't even sell a million units in an entire year, it's beyond dead. Laugher now at this point.
You forgot the amiibo compatibility (NFC)
something that pisses me off is no NO ONE ever mentions when talking about the PS vita's duel sticks, is how annoying it could be trying to fit that thing in your pocket. ever. those stick will get caught on things all the time. cords, your clothes, what ever, those sticks WILL get in the way when ever storing them in a pocket of any kind and it's always annoyed me with any device that has exposed controls like that.
But you can download full games on 3DS :P But seriously I'm fine with Play Station systems, but I really like the 3DS more because of the types of games I like (Mario, Smash Bros., etc.) and the fact that you can shut it at any given moment and put it in sleep mode (I've never played a PS Vita, I'm not sure it can do that though).
I have a vida and I love it! Some games I would recommend are marvel vs capcon 3 amazing spiderman 2 the walking dead minecraft and killzone. But I also want a 3ds for smash bros and Pokemon. Once again like he said it depends on what games you like if you are a more of hardcore console gamer then go with the vida if you are a moderate gamer go with the 3ds or 2ds which is cheaper. I am going to ask for a 3ds for Christmas so I can have both!
I bought the Alpha Sapphire 2DS bundle, but to my surprise and disappointment, it's incredibly small!
Is there any way that Nintendo would give me a bigger one in trade?
Actually you can purchase game downloads (of almost all games) on the (New) 3DS as well...
And the C-stick also acts as a second analog stick. (In CPP games)
And Nintendo also has better Indie game support (see: Shovel Knight)
This comparison was a fail. You got the specs wrong, had no games to test the c-stick because the c-stick has no games to test on it, failed to explain the 3D/resolution situation on the NN3DS, didn't research the fact that you could download retail games on the 3DS for years now etc. There is a reason nobody else has made a Vita vs NN3DS comparison. There are no games for the NN3DS extra features(c-stick, 4-core cpu, 4-bumpers, etc), so just how the hell do you expect an accurate comparison?
Resident Evil Revelations, Super Smash Bros, Metal Gear Solid 3D, Kingdom Hearts 3D, and Monster Hunter 4G all take advantage of certain new 3DS features, minus the extra power, which only Smash and Monster Hunter use.
Spork4000 Only exclusives will use total power of NN3DS, so we must wait Xenoblades to see the performance/graphics of it.
Spork4000 So if I buy a N3DS and put RE:Revelations in, it will work with the new C-pad and the added buttons?
Also, the digital game download point put to the vita is moot, because the 3DS also has fully downloadable games for every 3DS title.
compare to nintendo 3ds 61million sold and still growing
I'm trying to understand the Batman footage I'm seeing. I thought Batman was a side scroller on the Vita. What happened?
You are thinking about Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate. That one is a side scroller. This is lego batman 2.
The new 3ds has a quad core chip i don't understand
What do you preffer guys PS Vita or Nintendo 3DS?
I do not know wich one to buy?
+ante vukovic Like the guy said, it depends on what sort of games you want to buy.
PS Vita is a more popular console in Japan (while it's library and sales in North America are terrible), so you would expect a lot of RPG import games as well as indie games from the online store. Technically speaking, it's a better console with lovely graphics nearly equivalent to a PS3. Just barely any games.
The 3DS has a wider audience, therefore the library continues to expand. You'll get more multiplayer experience with the 3DS and nintendo titles. The graphics are pretty lame, but if you enjoy the games, you would definitely be willing to look past that.
Both systems are completely different and have their own pros and cons, so do a little research before deciding what you'd like to get. Check out the "top 10 games for Vita or 3Ds" or other videos comparing the system. :)
And if you end up wanting a Vita, my used one is going for $130 (american).
Best of luck!
8:43 which game is this?
Not sure if it's been said already, but i'm not positive why you didn't use the vita slim for the review if you're using the absolutely brand new 3ds that has/ hadn't been released in other countries. The slim tends to get better battery life, so i was rather confused by the supposed 3 hour battery life. It was a good video though and i like how instead of saying which was better, you simply pointed out pros and cons of each and left the decision to us.
I think it's because while the slim does get better battery life, a lot of things were downgraded. Such as taking away the beautiful OLED screen for an ugly LED one. :'( It makes me cry to see such a beautiful thing go.
beautiful colour means nothing if you have nearly no battery life. you need at least 6 hours battery life
you got something wrong... 3ds can download full games too
Download Digital games? This is not a advantage. The 3ds can do it to, they have eshop with very good games and sales. Last week i buy Resident evil reveletions for 8 bucks!
They're both great consoles. I own a Vita, love most of it's games (even though it got some shit ports i.e. Dead Nation and Borderlands 2), it's exclusives are great. However I'd love to own a 3DS to play Zelda a Link Between Worlds, Super Smash Bros 4, Mario 3D Land etc. But that's just gamewise; I think both consoles are well constructed, and IMO you get what you pay for. There shouldn't be that much of a discussion about "what is a better console" since the Vita and the 3DS are aimed at very different markets, the Vita focusing of the indies (which isn't all that bat honsetly) and DS getting all the love from the developers. Both have cool games and you just have to look at what you want to play.
Now of course this is just my opinion, as I like both of them and if I had the money I'd totally buy a New 3DS.
How long did it take to write this comment 🤣
Sony abandoned the Vita and the memory cards cost an arm and a leg
I was a huge PSP fan but finding out about the bullshit about the memory cards was like catching your wife cheating on you :(
Can't we buy both and be happy... Oh wait, that'd cost an arm and a leg if you don't make much.
I bought both and I am very happy!!! I spent my University Scholarship money on them, lol instead of buying textbooks. But its okay because I downloaded all my textbooks through torrents and I am an Honor Roll Student about to earn my Masters Degree, so I figured, Fuck it. Buy both!!
I love them both equally, for different reasons. The 3D effect can be cool and annoying at the same time on the New Nintendo 3DS and for the Vita, some of the touch keys on the screen can get annoying.
I love how the 3DS flips open (to protect the screens) and there are 2 screens, one touch screen and one normal screen.
ON the Vita I love how colorful and bright the screen is (I have the original model the FAT PS Vita with the OLED screen, the better one) and on the Vita I like the 2 analog sticks.
However, the 3DS has a good analog stick, and the new "C-Stick" for the second Analog stick has grown on me, I just wish more games used it!!! Also on the New 3DS I love the double shoulder buttons, which the Vita does not have.
Game wise.... Which is the most important aspect to me, both systems have great games.
Vita = Dragons Crown, Legend of Heroes Trials of Cold Steel, Persona 4 Golden, Y's Memories of Celceta, Sword Art Online Hollow Fragment, Final Fantasy X and X/2, Ar Nosurge Plus (underrated game but cool if you dont mind a lot of text, I mean A LOT of TEXT), and a whole bunch of PSP games!!!!! (Lunar the Silver Star Harmony, Hexyz Force, Brandish The Dark Revenant, JEANNE D'Arc ETC........)
New 3DS = Xenoblade Chronicles, Zelda: A link between Worlds, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Rune Factory 4, Fantasy Life, Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates (Conquest and Birthright), Bravely Default, Pokemon X/Y, Mario 3D land, and many many more......
So yeah all together I cannot decide or pick which system I like more, I love them both Equally.
I bought the Vita at launch years ago so now I can get a 3DS
ThatGuyFromThatPlace sometimes i find them on kickass or piratebay other times i Google search stuff like free college textbooks forums. Forums because google blocks a lot of sites but if u read forums ppl link good sites for textbooks :)
Minecraft great game for Ps vita
Killzone great game for vita
Border lands great game for vita
Walking dead series great game for vita
Gravity rush great game for vita
Need for speed great game for vita
Tearaway great game for vita
Some of the many great games for vita, its so underrated but I will always have Nintendo in my heart cause I started with it
Its funny, because these games aren't ps vita only.
Vita hardware and internals are great. That's about it. Holistically as a console, 3DS crushes Vita
Ahad true, if the vita had better games the 3DS would be nothing but a toy
Sorry for lengthy comment.
I bought a psvita, and a few months later, it just stopped working properly. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one with these problems. I try to charge my vita, and for some reason it takes forever. Finally when the light turns off and it's charged, I take it with me to play some games. Then, several minutes in my game, it says low battery, and then shuts off, therefore losing all of my progress. But, when I am not playing a game, or just doing anything else other than gaming (which the whole point of the vita or any other game console or system, to game) the battery is fine for quite some time, until my battery says it's on 50%. Then when i lock my vita, and the. Come back a min later, it says that it's at 100%. I think that this isn't only the battery (which you can't change yourself without voiding the warranty) but so etching else. Plus to top all that off, the vita has horrible first party support/games. I just really think I'm better off with the 3ds now. If you're thinking of buying a vita, don't. Don't waste your money, Unless sony really fixes all of these problems. Again sorry for lengthy comment.
ill be sure to. thx
***** It turns out it isn't defective, EVERYONE who updated their Vita had the same problem. My vita works totally fine now, but I still don't use it much because there still aren't many games for it, and the games that are there, I don't show any interest in them. Anyways, I'm going to be buying the "New" 3DS. I don't know if I should buy the XL or the normal one. I've never had an XL DS or 3DS. I've always stuck with the normal models. But I feel like with the New 3DS everything seems a bit too squished together. I might go with the XL but I'm going to miss the faceplates. I'll see I don't have a definite thought on it though...
***** Well I don't own the previous older version of the 3DS. The newest DS that I have is the DSi. I also have a DS Lite. For what it seems, I've heard that battery life is 4-6 hours on the normal New 3DS, and 4-7 on the XL version. I'm actually not living in a different country, I am also stuck with the XL for now. They released the normal New 3DS, but it's a bundle with animal crossing... I don't like bundles... So I'll wait a little longer, until I can go to a store and see how it feels in my hands and how I like it. I've NEVER gone with an XL version of any system. So I'll have to see. I'll probably end up getting the normal like I already said though...
***** I'll see. Thx ;)
Also you could download games on Nintendo handhelds since the DSi
In addition I am 100 percent sure that WiFi new 3ds using has to be double band for better internet connection. Original 3ds had single band WiFi.
Wait, can't you download digital games on the 3ds too?
I dont get why digital games is a plus on psvita. Nintendo also has digital games. Maybe less indies but still they got some. You can also buy every retail game digital on the Nintendo eshop!
I couldnt find resident evil revelations on the eshop or tekken
have to love both. Love my vita for Final Fantasy and racing games. Love my 3ds for Nintendo s great virtual console and of course they never ending supply of AAA titles.
james henderson what is aaa
On paper, the Vita is a no brainer. By far superior specs and overall it is a beautiful handheld console that goes beyond what handheld devices used to be. With that said, due to it's family friendly market, simplistic yet innovative design, and it's giant library of games that transcend children and adults, male and female, the 3DS is a killer device that is miles ahead of the Vita. Doesn't mean it's the better of the two, because obviously the Vita is stronger, but it is successful at meeting what Nintendo fans, and many gamers in general love. I personally own a 3DS, but if it wasnt for the lack of titles that im interested in, i would have gotten a vita. anyways, both are amazing and powerful, and i hope both Sony and Nintendo continue to make wonderful systems.
Isn't the new 3ds CPU clocked at least to 800mhz not the same speed at 268. How would it run Xenoblade Chronicles with the same CPU speed. That's the reason why Nintendo couldn't put Ice Climbers in Smash along with the Circle Pad pro not being compatible. Lack of CPU processing.
I have a New 3ds xl and I bought it only for Pokemon
It should be pointed out that the Vita's wifi antenna is really terrible compared to the 3DS's, leading to a slow browsing experience.
DS LIte was awesome for the fact that it had 20 hrs of battery life. I still love mine for traveling and I love my 3DS XL but the battery life on them is a real ball breaker for me.
I have a mind bending idea, buy both!
OMGZ! ITZ REVOLUTIONARY!!
That lag on the Vita doh
PlayStation handhelds will never come close to Nintendo.
You are so right sony Vita doesn't come close
Lol, I really prefer Nintendo games over PlayStation but don't say shit like, "PlayStation handhelds will never come close to Nintendo." Btw, yeah by the rating Nintendo defiantly has better selling doesn't mean anything about which one is better.
SO TRUE
Hm... I might get the Vita for LittleBigPlanet, but I'm not sure. With the 3ds having Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion 2 and Smash Bros and all of that.
Okay, I think I got it; if Sony would release a sequel to either Loco Roco or Patapon I'd get the Vita, but for now I think I'm saving up for the New 3ds.
5:50 the way you play your ds remind me dingdong machine
The fact that people are still comparing consoles based on their stats is already making me feel disgusted. This guy knows what the fuck he's doing.
someof plsvita games are small and on the new 3DS or not you can watch 3D youtube videos and images
Dude there is the e shop on the 3ds and you can download game digitally also and it's way easer
*evenly match.. " huh.. Agree.
Getting psvita for remote play, getting "new"3DS for it's library of titles such as super smash bros
I understand the comparison but, it's kinda of like taste and choice matter. I bought psvita since it realised and didnt enjoy it too much. For me, it seemed like it had the "mini" versions of the original titles like resistance and uncharted etc. But then again when i got my Nintendo New 3DS XL, I've enjoyed it way more. If you're into shooters or racing games, I would choose vita. But for everything else 3DS. Have had so much fun playing Zelda and Fire Emblem.
Both are great. Both have great games. Personal preference is what determines which is "better".
Erm, 3DS can download full games, no cartridge needed
is there going to be a toast model of the new 3ds? (toast=2ds)
You buy a game system to play games that you want to play on it. If you like PS exclusive games, get that. If you like Nintendo exclusive games get the 3DS. Personally I will pick the 3DS every time because of Pokemon but to each his own.
There is also a new 3ds xl and you can download games 2 on the 3ds
the ps vita is the better system but the 3ds has more games reminds me of the orginal xbox and the ps2
