The New 3ds we have is from Japan, but its very similar to the north american version that will come out in a couple of months.

If you want proof that Jesus and the Bible are true look a documentary called “Ron Wyatt discoveries 2022” on UA-cam and a UA-cam channel called Expedition Bible. They both examine archeological sites and discoveries that prove the Bible, and even reference secular sources. (Just don’t convert to 7th day Adventism after watching the documentary) And lastly if you don’t know the gospel and want to be saved search up “abc’s of Salvation Teenmissions” on Google and it should be the first or second result. When you click on it read the whole thing, and do what it says and have faith in Jesus while you are doing it, do not doubt, and if it is hard for you to do what it says, ask Jesus to help you, have faith that he will, and *he will.*

Therockbrothersmc I think he was saying it as "Super Mario, Smash Brothers..." as he was listing the games, not "Super Mario Smash Brothers" as a whole. He was probably thinking of that Mario title that is on the 3DS.

The slightly larger screen is a huge plus for me. More viewing comfort without sacrificing pixel density

The new 3ds' cpu is actually a quad core arm11 based cpu that is clocked at 804 megahertz. It also has more l2 cache than the original 3ds' cpu which in turn makes it way more powerful. The new 3ds also has twice as much ram as the original

The new volume location is my favorite improvement over the 3DS XL because you can't accidentally move it while you're playing

Ahhh... I remember those days... having a Game Boy or GB Color in ones pocket trying jam it in the pocket, struggling to get it out, showing my small friends, "Yo check out this new game I got at the flea market, $5 bucks". Sneaking it to school with bunch of other games and playing it in class... those were the good old days.

I still have my original black 3DS bought in 2011 and the hinges are not that floppy. Of course I don't shake it back and forth like you do.
I am probably gonna get the new 3ds especially as i got my original 3ds nearly 4 years ago! I am so excited that Majoras mask on 3ds is near the same time of release. XD

The n3ds is the way to go if ur Modding it, then it allows you to play 3ds game at 833mhz (instead 233) so no shuttering in Pokémon.

Broke my DSi XL, gifted me 2DS and now bought a pre-owned modded New 3DS XL this year. 3DS is now 10 years old, time sure flies fast.
Actually, the arm11 in the new 3ds and the xl are quad core, as well as being clocked up. While I can't see many games taking being exclusive to new 3ds, I can see many of them taking advantage of the new 3ds capabilities while still working with old 3ds. Also, i'm sure the homebrew community will take advantage of it as well.
I stand corrected about how many games took advantage of it, us homebrew allows you to use the higher clock speed and l2 chache in game.
Very amazing review, you went into really in-depth detail which is something i look for in reviews. I received a 3ds for my birthday awhile back, and it really annoyed me with its outdated features and slow processing. I'm preparing to purchase a new 3ds XL soon, and i have a feeling it will be outstanding compared to its previous counterpart.

screen size improvement was very welcome.. reminds me of the DSI perfect size for the system and perfect size screens

Since this has the ZL and ZR buttons, i would it expect it to have Wii Virtual console, considering you can play wii games with the Classic Controller attatchment, which has the same buttons.
The c stick was also available as an add on for the original 3ds which explains their availability in earlier games.
I kinda really want the small one but then I'll have to sacrifice the big screens :/

would people recommend buying the n3DS or the n3ds xl? Compared to the old 3d, is the n3DS' increase in screen size even noticeable? I have a 3ds xl and have not been able to get my hands on the n3DS
I like how the new 3ds has about the same layout of the GameCube remote.growing up with a GameCube it's kinda cool
From the short time I was able to use the original sized New 3DS, one of the biggest differences between it and the New 3DS LL is definitely the build quality. While the LL has always been very sturdily built, the OG New 3DS feels quite a bit cheaper strangely. Regardless, the form factor of the New 3DS as opposed to the LL feels just right and I would love to find one for myself. Too bad the price of the limited quantities of the Happy Home Designer New 3DS has gone up as significantly as it has lately.
I bought a Japanese import and home brewed it. It's amazing!

I bought the new 3ds xl and after a month I returned it because i didnt feel it was worth the upgrade, the bigger screen was nice and the speed, but not anything huge and amazing to keep it for

Now that the eshop closed, the new model is worth because all of the ports that came, gta, doom, and exclusives to the n3ds
My hinge is still loose on the newer model it drives me nuts... anyone know if there's a way to tighten the the hinges?

The one thing I don't like about the new 3ds is it's circle pad I noticed when I use my new 3ds that my thumb slips off real easily while the older 3ds my thumb stays on it and it's a bit bigger on the original 3ds. And when u play the new 3ds in the dark it can't track ur head so it spazes out while the old one doesn't if your playing in 3d other than that the new 3ds is pretty good but I like to use my original 3ds for 3d gaming In the dark and playing 3ds games
Wait huh? The new one is the one with infrared sensors (or inner camera? not sure but it's the black thingy besides the front cam), and i'm pretty sure it's the one that works in the dark lol
@therock3314 I'm waiting a little while longer to upgrade, I wouldn't say that the c-stick and 3D tracking are worth forking out £150 for, but you could possibly get £50 for your old one and put the money towards the new version, still £100 is a lot for little upgrade maybe.
i recently bought the new 3ds xl (i have the old xl version) and I noticed that the new 3ds xl is more pixilated than the old xl.. i bought the m.d.e version its like the asian veraion or middle east.. could that be the reason why the new 3ds has larger pixels than the old xl??
XL just makes the low resolution more noticeable
The zl and zr buttons are easy to trigger.

I like the N3DS' design better. The top part of the original 3DS just felt unnatural and ugly, but hey, that's just my opinion

Not only is the New3DS ARM 11 higher clocked but it is also a QUAD Core v the slower Dual Core original.
Should I get one for Black Friday even though I have an old 3DS? I want to get Pokémon Sun but I hear the framerate has issues in double and totem battles.
Paintamaster2000 I would say you should get a new one. A lot of new mario/zelda/polemon games for 3ds will only work with the new power the new 3ds has. tl;dr It would be a good investment to get a new one.
Lemmy No. All 3ds games will work on every 3ds and 2ds. Stop spreading lies, they might run a better on the new 3ds, but their won't be any games that require it.
I already got the New 3DS with Pokemon Sun and I actually do have an older model and tested both. The result was that the game will run fine on the older version of the 3DS but has some FPS lag during battles

How is the new nintendo 3ds screen quality in terms of colours and blur compared to the original 3ds?
They're about the same but the New 3Ds is slightly better, but I still have my 3Ds (which I got from one of those claw machines)
Yeah its not really worth the upgrade either if your doing just fine on the system you already have. But Ill most likely be picking one up for christmas to be prepared for any future exclusives. But until then, original 3ds FTW!
