I installed new wheels and tires on my 2007 Nissan Xterra!! Black Rhino Chamber!!

  • In this video I lay out the specs for my wheel and tire combo along with giving an overview of the ceramic coating process. One addition that I have done since purchasing the wheels is getting some hub rings. The hub for the Xterra is 66.1mm and the bore for the wheels is 76.1mm. I like using the rings because it helps me to align the lug nuts better when fitting the wheels. If you have any questions about this video please leave them in the comments below. Thanks for watching!

    I have a 2008 and I bought it with aftermarket rims n tires. Bf goodrich a/t and I think the same size. They rubbed, so I heated the wheel well plastic and molded it a bit. It worked! Thanks for the comment! I have not noticed any damage to the wheels/tires from scraping against the fender lining. Also, I haven't noticed any rubbing going over objects. That being said, I haven't done any off-roading on this setup to where I would be at full articulation of the suspension. It looks like the 265/65r18 is very similar to the diameter of what I'm running now. I would assume that would be alright. If I'm not mistaken, I stayed away from the 18s due to lack of options and price. Best of luck!

    I dont know enough about ceramic coating a new wheel so is it for protection of the wheel? I was really happy to see this after the tire shop said I could not go up toa 17 inch wheel without a lift

    • @TheNonnell
      @TheNonnell  2 роки тому

      Ceramic coating is for some level of “protection”. It offers protection for the paint on the wheels. It doesn’t protect against rock chips or curb rash. Also, it makes cleaning the wheels so much easier. It’s probably overkill, but I really like these wheels and wanted to take extra care of them. Beside the little rub at full lock, I don’t have any issues with these wheels. Also, you could look up how to do the melt mod which everyone talks about and that would take care of the rub. Best of luck!

      Good question. I checked multiple websites before I bought these wheels bc I was unsure of the fitment. Fortunately, I can say that for my 07 Xterra and this set of black rhino wheels, they fit perfectly. There isn’t a huge amount of space between wheel and caliper, but there is clearance and I haven’t had any issues.

      @TheNonnell  3 роки тому +1

      I don’t have a specific size for ya but if you know what offset the OEM wheel is then you can determine how much poke you’d get by the aftermarket offset.
      Zero Offset
      The hub mounting surface is even with the centerline of the wheel.
      Positive
      The hub mounting surface is located in the front half of the wheel closer to the wheel face. This tucks the entire wheel in toward the brakes and vehicle suspension. Positive offset wheels are generally found on front-wheel drive cars and newer rear-wheel drive cars.
      Negative
      The hub mounting surface is located in the back half of the wheel closer to the back lip flange. This moves the wheel out away from the vehicle brakes and suspension. "Deep dish" wheels and wheels for lifted trucks are typically a negative offset.
