11. Reckless the Dog
In 2012, Hurricane Sandy devastated the Northeast Coast of the United States. One pair of victims of the hurricane were Chuck and Elicia James, who lived in New Jersey at the time. The storm damaged the fence in their backyard, allowing their terrier-pitbull mix named Reckless to escape.
Understandably, Chuck and Elicia were heartbroken. They searched for Reckless for several months before accepting he must have died in the storm. A year and a half later, the couple finally felt ready to adopt a new dog. So, they visited a local animal shelter and received an astounding surprise! There was Reckless, waiting for them all this time.
The shelter had renamed him Lucas. According to Chuck, Reckless “jumped three feet in the air” when he saw the couple and they were all happily reunited!
10. Alfie the Resurrected Cat
Here’s a weird one. It has echoes of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot but without the necromancy and terrible ending.
One day in 2009, Angelo Petrillo of Milnrow, Greater Manchester, England came upon a sad sight: a car hit an orange tomcat near his home. The cat strongly resembled Petrillo’s Alfie, who was nowhere to be found. Convinced it was cat, they buried poor “Alfie” and, shortly afterward, he and his family moved to a new home. It’s a sad story too often repeated the world over. But the story, in this case, doesn’t end here.
Nine months later, a friend from his old neighborhood called Petrillo to tell him a ginger cat was at their old house trying to get in. Their old home was a mere mile away, so they went to investigate. To their surprise, it was Alfie! He had put on weight, so it was obvious that someone had been taking care of him. To this day, the Petrillos still don't know whose cat they buried, or where Alfie had been all that time.
9. Opie the Horse
In 2003, Michelle Pool of Eureka, Arkansas, went to the hospital to have surgery on her back. Instead of paying the expensive boarding fees for her horse, Opie, she asked her father in San Antonio, Texas to watch over him while she recovered.
Her father enclosed Opie in his pasture because he didn’t have a stable. One night, someone clipped the metal fence and stole the horse. Why would anyone do that? Well, Opie is a Saddlebred Pinto, which is a breed worth anywhere from $1,200 to $15,000. Upon learning what happened, Pool went on the search. She made fliers, contacted the local sheriff’s office, and submitted the case to an organization called Stolen Horse International.
Nearly ten long years passed and there was no sign of Opie, until Pool received an amazing phone call. Opie had been found.
A woman named Deanna Bordelon was looking for a horse for her 13-year-old daughter when she came across a lovely Saddlebred Pinto on Craigslist. The horse was named “War Bonnet” and was being sold by a woman named Della Brade. According to Brade, a pastor gave her War Bonnet eight years ago. The pastor claimed he couldn’t do anything with War Bonnet because he was shy and had been abused. But Brade made progress with the horse, so the pastor gave him to her.
According to the pastor, he got it from another man who claimed to have found the horse wandering down the highway.
Bordelon thought the story was weird and convoluted, so she did a little sleuthing. She found a picture of Opie and realized it was the same horse. She contacted the authorities right away. This is where things get very “wild, wild west”. The sheriff’s office hired a team of contract cowboys who seized the horse from Bordelon. Bordelon claimed she didn’t know the horse was stolen.
Not enough evidence was found against anyone, so no one was charged. Pool, for her part, was glad to get Opie back and, from his reaction in a video of the reunion, he was pretty happy, too.
8. Bucky the Dog
Mark Wessels lived in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with his black Labrador Bucky. Unfortunately, his community banned dogs and Wessels to give up Bucky or be forced to move. He left the dog with his father in Virginia. Soon after, though, Bucky went missing and Wessels feared the worst.
One day, a Myrtle Beach resident named Brett Gallagher found a black lab wandering his community. The dog seemed to like his yellow lab, so Gallagher took him home. The poor dog was emaciated, so Gallagher fed him up and took him to Grand Strand Animal Hospital. The vet there scanned the dog for a microchip and discovered he belonged to Wessels.
I had three dogs and one time my little brother left the gait open,I went out one morning to find all three of them GONE!,I ran out into the front yard and screamed there names, maybe 10 minutes later of screaming I heard them running down the road,the first dog to come was Daisy the YOUNGEST ONE yet the biggest,next was the oldest one Roxey(R.I.P my beautiful baby girl 😭) the last one to come was Buster my other chihuahua(this is the most scary part)when he was crossing the road a car was coming,but thankfully they saw him and stoped,so I ran up to him and scooped him up and ran into the house,did I mention that I was like 6 and in my pajamas!!! 😂 the chihuahuas are in heaven today (R.I.P) Roxey got put down,she was old,blind,and deaf she died a few years ago,and Buster also got put down it was the same for him,and Daisy is still with me today but will pass in a few years.....

Once I by accidentally left the door open at my old house and my dog Bella ran out and went to my neighbors and they had a dog but it was in the house but thank god we found her! So now I hug and stay close to my dog a lot because I love her! I would never want my puppy Bella to go missing that would litterly kill me! 1 like equals 1 hug for my dog=🐶

My dog got out of the gate in my backyard. He was a black chihuahua with a white patch of fur near his neck (his chest) I miss him so much, he’s been gone since Dec 16. We know he was stolen bc he always used to run away then come back with in the next 3 mins. I hope he escapes away from his new owner and comes back. We love you Rosko💕✊🏼 I hope he’s still alive and I hope he comes back. I have a feeling he’s coming back today and I never had this feeling so I feel like it’s true! Man, I just realised my cat should've been in this video...
Why: Because so my family let her go outside all the time because one day she got loose and came back home! Then we started letting her go outside and she would come home by the front door and wait! Sometimes she would bring dead moles that she killed and put them on the front door step and continue hunting. But one day.. she never came home.. and almost 3 weeks past and she still hasn't came home. one day later she comes home from the back door and we were amazed and so happy she survived all the storms, (we have coyotes behind our backyard at night) and she had 11 ticks, LOTS of fleas, and a scar on her nose, ( the scar still lays there today) we had to give her a bath and she hated it but needed it, lots of bugs were removed and dirt, and. She was clean and nice, it took a while for her to get her meat back cause before we could see her ribs but thank you for reading this comment, no one ever reads my comments... I hope this one doesn't get lost in the seas of comments! 🌊

It was really really windy, the wind blew my fence down my dog got out I burst into tears when I got home from school and saw that my fence was down and my dog was gone. Me and my sister were crying for hours. When my dad got home, we searched. My Neighbor's saw this lady with my dog they went up to her and asked her if it was her dog she said that she just found the dog roaming around the streets. Our neighbors took our dog from her and brought our dog Lily back to us.

My cat Cinderella went missing one day and 4 months later she came back to our house unbelievably skinny. She used to be 12 pounds and she was 5 when she came back. We were so happy and we fed her up and kept her inside only for 3 months. We finally let her outside and she went missing again. 6 months later she came back again. We have no idea where she was either times, but she came back both times. She found her way home. Again she was way skinnier than she should be. We kept her until she was better and gave her to my sister, who only had her cats inside. When my sister moved she gifted Cinderella to an SPCA worker who was looking for a Siamese cat. She’s living a great life now 💖

last year my sick cat Archie ran away after 2 hours i finally found him. i brought him home to where a week later he would run away again and we didn’t find him after 2 weeks my parents were talking out side and he jumped the fence coming back home. he was starving we fed him and he started looking good again a week later he unfortunately passed away and it was a sad sight to see he was in pain and whatever was taking his life before he died he was fighting even during his last breath. he was 7 years old my other cat was 17 but recently passed away thanks for taking the time to read this. have an amazing day
I had a kitty named Charlie Chaplan. He is black and white with a mustache and no tail. He hopped out the door once my mother opened it. He would always return home the next morning, but he hasn't came back to my call on November 5th, 2018. He was also my bestest friend and also was like a baby to me. I will miss him so much when he won't be waiting for me when I'm at school; begging for food by buttering me up; purring like a loud motor; rubbing and rolling over for a belly rub; never being able to give him sleepy kisses😖😢I hope my friend will eventually return tomorrow. And if he didn't come tomorrow, I hope he will return the day after tomorrow. And i will keep on hoping every tomorrow❤

My cousin had a turtle named kiwi when she was 4. My cousin painted her name on kiwi’s shell. About a year later, kiwi ran away into a creak. Several years later, a man that was a friend of my cousins mom found a large turtle with my cousins name painted on the shell. Soon, kiwi returned to my cousin when she was 8 years old! 🐢🐢🐢

My 5 year old dog has been gone for almost a year. We were looking for him for a long time but then just gave up. Everyone was crying before bed and was praying for him to come back home. He still hasent come back to this day and now its been 5 years that hes been gone. He is very cute and, ue was our first dog. My friend found a small baby grey cat outside her house, meowing and starving. The cat wasn't even a year old!
She took the cat to the vet and then adopted her! She named her Phoebe and she now lives in their home. :3

She was my absolute favorite, thought I loved them all with all my heart. I wish, wish, wish I could have her wet nose and her warm body snuggle into me just one last time. I had two dogs named curly and spike and there were always outside but in my backyard and we had a fence so basically they digged under it and ran away every day we looked and looked and never found them 2 months past till present day we still can't find them and I still cry myself to sleep every day and even when I had them I'll never play with them I'll always play with my ps4 and they were just lonely and that's why I think they left I hope they have a new owner that plays with them everyday and I hoped you guys learned something today to not take life for granted if you are disrespectful to your parents don't be cause you will never know what could happen and till this day I tell myself if I got a chance to just see That they are okay I would play with them every day feed them and treat them as a child and I hope something like this will never happen to you and thanks for reading my story and may god bless you for the rest of your life.

One time in 2013, my mother left the door open and I was trying to tell my mom to close it then someone banged a metal pot near my cat named Bailey then shortly after, someone dropped the metal pot again near my cat then immediately ran out the door, I was 7 when this happened. After I ran alone trying to catch him but he hid before I could get him. Then 1 year and 7 months later, I heard something at the door it sounded like crying I thought it was our next door neighbour crying (btw I live in a survey) but it was so high pitched, so I open the door and saw nothing until I look around, and saw Bailey all dirty (the cat) then I was crying and yelling to my mom that Bailey was back and she didn’t believe me until she saw and both of us were crying and my mom was hugging him so hard. But the real question is how did he stay alive for so long. Some stuff is just unexplainable sometimes.
Edit: Like if you made it to the end and Bailey is 14 now soon gonna die but the main thing is is that he’s still alive.
This is why dogs are different than other animals. I love dogs.

My dog, Bacon, had a tumor and had to get her toe amputated. I know how you feel. She had to have surgery to get er uterus removed, so now she can never have puppies. And shortly after, my parrot, Blossom, who was 5, died. I hope you'll see him again

I feel so bad and guilty because i wasnt even in the room with her when she died. My dad was holding her close, he says that that day was horrible for him and he was holding princess in his arms and tears were running down his face. He held her until her beautiful eyes closed, and she stopped breathing. I will never forget you princess.

This my story off my kittens when there just born! So my 3rd cat called luna she gave birth to 4 kittens the first kitten was ok then the others came won the next after I came back from school my mother told me something was up the first kitten so I rushed home after I heard this so when I got home i saw that my the first kitten was not drinking it milk and the others where fine and then when I woke up to the next day after echool my mom told my teacher that he or she was dead that got me burst in tears after that the other 3 kitten where all okay! But my first cat i ever got ran away never came back and I had to sell two of my kittens i kept one and it's called nova! That the story of my cat! Like to pray on the first kittten and to pray of my first Rocky (yah that's his name) if he comes back

A few months ago I lost my cat. I was so stressed that he had got ran over by a car. My baby boy ,Ralph, was gone for 42 hours! Me and my auntie went out to serch for him but no luck. He was gone from Saturday to Sunday and we where going on holiday on the Monday. Finally on the Sunday we where getting into bed and left the back door opend in hope he would come back and he did! Just came strutting in like nothing had happened! I was so glad, I shut him in my room for the night and he slept with me. No harm done to him. He’s still here now, infact he’s sat on my lap while I’m writing this 😘😸

When I was in Middle School I lost my cat. Well actually I think she ran away to where her boyfriend was at the cat lady's house, as we called it. and the cat lady wouldn't let her go. she was gone for months. and I was so depressed and I cried and cried. I called out for her every night but she never came. until one night I called out for her and finally I heard the tink tink tingling of her Bell and her meowing. and I started to scream and cry mom mom its Lucky She's Come Back! and here my black kitty cat came back and jumped into my arms and my world was alright again. She was the world's sweetest cat. I I found her in an alley way. I was with a group of other people I was the only one that she would come to. I had her from a kitten all the way till age 19 she was my baby.

I had a cat that i also lost/died during middle school but I lost her in my first year, first week of middle school I had such a bad start to my middle school experience because of it I couldn't concentrate in any lessons and I kept on thinking about my cat every lesson and break times making me want to cry but managed to hold it in every time I don't know how i did it because I struggle really bad when I lose someone I love and usually cry for weeks and weeks and a year later i got dog so happy times!
My cat went missing a few years ago. She fell asleep on an old couch someone was sending away. She was driven in a van for 3 hours and once the van stopped and they opened the door, my cat jumped out. She was missing for 6 months and we all gave up hope until my dad got a call from the vets saying someone had found her. We only found Poppy because she was microchipped. Microchipping your pets could save their lives. ❤️ Now Poppy is a 7 year old cat living with her 3 year old half brother Buddy
We were moving from San Fernando to San Francisco. The moving van was packed and the car was ready to go. But where was our 9 year old Calico cat? Nowhere to be seen. We didn't confine her as we had never needed to. We had moved just about every 6 months for 4 years and she was always ok with it and didn't try to run away. But this time she was gone. We finally figured that she was in the moving van and my dad was anxious for us to leave. So we did. Months past. About 7 months later, our cat showed up at our old home in san Fernando. They had two of her kittens and were willing to feed her and keep her until we could pick her up. 6 months later we came to get her. She was very happy to see my mom and me. We had her for many years after that.
These kids didn't want these puppies anymore so they went to a POND to kill them in. (My dog was one of them) Thankfully someone saw them and called the cops. The police went to a bunch of doors asking them if they wanted lab for free. When the cops came to our door there were a girl and a boy of course my dad and brother had to get the boy. (The puppies are black labs) we named him zero it's a weird name but it's unique. ❤️😞🐶 give this a like please!!!

A year ago my cat Garfield was lost for nearly a year and a month until we got a call from the vet, saying that Garfield was there! But there was a problem, he got bitten by a snake. Luckily the vet to care of the bite.We are so happy to have him back at home, safe and sound.

My old dog ran (walked) away without us knowing when we let her out in the backyard. She slid under the gate and when we went searching for her we found a small animal store. She was there but the funny part was they said they found her just strolling around but the scary part was she was strolling into the street. She was safe and we went home where she lived her next few years with us.
Ok here's another story about other my dog who passed away awhile ago. There's picture of her on my channel. We got home from the store or wherever we went, when I saw something just standing outside. I went closer and it was my dog just standing there. I realized she was waiting for us outside cause when I went to the door she went right behind me. I always thought she would run away when she got the chance but she never did. I loved her so much ❤️

One of my nanny's old cat's should be on here.
One day, her, her son(my uncle), his wife, and their son who was like 6 years old(who is now 16 yrs) was in a tornado. After the tornado was gone they noticed that the cat ( ms tufsy) went missing. Two weeks later, she shows up on the porch, while my nanny was sitting outside. She came inside, and said, "look who came back". Everyone was shocked.
I might have left something out, I wasn't here before, they told when I moved in with them. For some people that might be wondering why I moved in with them, was that, my dad's older sister, adopted me, my little brother and sister.

I had a cat called Midnight. I loved her , but then my dad took her to his office. Sadly one day i heard she'd dissappeared i was so sad, i didnt lose hope until one day it snowed, I was afraid she was gone forever but then one day ,after getting home from school, my brother came running in the house and said Midnight was in the yard! I was so happy to see her again. We gave her some food since she was so skinny and soon she was back healthy.

But some Day the cat had an injury on her leg. So the woman brought her to the vet where she got scanned for Micro chips. They found out that it was our Cat. The Woman brought us our cat back ♡

My cats name is Pablo and we live near cyotees. I left to go to the beach for a week and at the end of the trip I cut my acillese tendon so I needs surgery. The next day we went home and couldn’t find my cat Pablo. I obviously couldn’t walk so I couldn’t help to find Pablo. I felt bad I couldn’t help because nobody in my family wanted him and I did and we were very close. He slept with me every night, when I came home from school he would see me and rub up on my leg, he was like my child. And now he is gone. All the other outside cats in the neighborhood are gone too.
