- It's finally here.
The Wooting 80HE is the highly-anticipated successor to the Wooting 60HE, the keyboard that changed tactical FPS games like Counter-Strike forever. The new model is bigger, and comes with a few additional features, such as a light bar, 8k polling rate, tighter switches and a nicer sound signature.
But is all of that really worth it?
We tried the newest iteration of everyone's favorite tac-FPS keyboard, and our review can tell you everything you need to know.

Wooting has come so far! From a rap group in the 90's to selling the best keyboards... it's crazy
lol i just did security for one of their shows! Was pretty lit!
Cant believe martin shkreli bought the only wooting tkl in existence and wont let anyone use it

Appreciate you mentioning our Zenblade keyboard in the video as well, glad you're enjoying it. We have more coming.. but GJ to wooting on their launch as well 👍 -- Pwnage Lemonade
🙏
One correction since I've seen FPS gamers widely misusing the term. SOCD always exists. It's just that the default SOCD implementation that the game uses is being overridden/bypassed. Thanks for the video.
From the FGC? Seen so much confusion about this since SOCD became an FPS topic, let 'em know 👏
Yep! I play most genres but I definitely learned the term while looking up leverless controllers 😅
@@saintyoo 🤝
Yeah if you’ve played fighting games (which I guess many FPS players don’t?) SOCD has been a thing for a while.
@@CoolkiddVidsI literally saw "SOCD" and thought Street Fighter? Lol
Wooting is hands down the best company consumer friendly out there.
They deserve my 300$ just to let them keep innovating and making history year after year.
Will definitely get the Zync 80HE Version in the next week.
i just impulse pre-ordered it 5 minutes into this video, I'd been waiting over 2 years to pull the trigger on the 60 so i just said fuck it. hopefully my wife understands.
@@kelseycochrane3103 That's gonna be a hell of a conversation to have
Got the 60, ordered the ghost 80HE, … watched a bunch of UA-cam’s and ordered the white zinc 😂😂 justified it by lying to myself and saying I’d customize the 60
@@kelseycochrane3103 Word for word my exact same situation lol
If they release a budget version (sub $150) they can easily corner the market for gaming keyboards
They wont
There's a lot of competition below $150 with the same quality or almost the same
@@impatxent because they use same pcb software etc
No don't, drop the price, and perceived quality will drop
@@anon_ninja actually everything is the same in chinnese brands that's why it is cheap. Also wooting has to keep all certificates so it is safe in x country that they have to keep
Since I need to type French characters for writing but I also like to game, I have the full size Wooting keyboard for the numpad, and I have loved using this keyboard ever since I got it a couple years ago - best keyboard I've ever used!
Gotta admit Wooting has revolutionized the keyboard industry and brought the competitiveness between companies which we consumers love to see. They all try to make their best product and 1 up the other while trying to keep the price reasonable.
It’s crazy that the OSU community knew and was actively trying to hide the keyboard from the world cuz of how good it was.
the host of this video is actually so good i agree with almost everything he says and i like that he points out the flaws, i also would VERY much rather have a 65%
I've been using my zinc 80he pre order for a week now. Its an insane keyboard tbh, very premium though I do feel like the wobble on the stock lekkers is not up to the overall quality feel of the rest. They sound very satisfying, but I will upgrade them rather soon I suspect. Would 100 percent recommend even at 300 EUR price point
what are the advantages for zinc over the plastic? is it just how nice it feels?
@@ImOothman I haven't tried an abs plastic 80 he, so I can't say for myself. Apparently, the zinc case does make it sound a litte different. If you want a solid base I'd say go with the zinc alloy. It makes the keyboard feel a lot better quality.
What switches are you thinking about swapping for
I've got zinc version. It feels heavenly.
omfg it does, i usually dont make these nothingburger comments, but the wooting feels so nice to type on
After using the board for a while (and a 60he owner among many other keyboards) I love it. It's just what I wanted from the 60he - a few more keys! The other improvements are handy too but minor.
I seriously just want a 65% Wooting...
+ volume knob/wheel!,,!
Honestly, this video made my day!
Why not just mod the Wooting 80HE then? Mines on the way next week and it's definitely going to be my end-game keyboard for sure!

I play all Games. I'm definitely the Target Demographic for this, and this Keyboard is Mid.

I have a zinc one. Feels extremely good out of the box.
damn with shipping the metal version comes out to about $400 canadian, that's pretty funny
there's tons of hall effect keyboards with equal performance to the wooting for $150-$200

ive been on 60% royal kludge keyboard for 2 years now, have to admit its perfect in size but i wouldnt mind my f keys and arrow keys back. i think 80% is the best keyboard size and will be the next size i buy.

75% is better
@@sandwich-plays agreed!
DrunkDeer has amazing kb’s for a fraction of the cost, no wait time and several layout choices. Haven’t even thought about changing since I got mine.

@@JakubixIsHere I disagree, it's easy to access and harbors enough features to compete. Sorry you had a bad experience with it. Cheers
Bro dimitri needs more credit man is actually crispy and counter strike
i love my 60he, and i love wooting for releasing 80% instead of tkl because that means i don't have to upgrade 👍
The Razer Huntsman V3 PRO 60 MINI is amazing. I own both Wooting's.
so toussaint is you! When I first picked up faceit we played together on vertigo, it was a pleasure!
Bro saw a chance to get his hands on these keyboards and took it
Now we need a full size keyboard and ill upgrade from my steelseries apex pro
They do have a full size keyboard. It's the Wooting Two HE.
@@Krymms prefer steelseries though
@@ChosenMan37I buy any brand, as long as it's good.
How have they not figured this out by now
Simply keep your existing custom and use it for typing/daily use, and pull out the wooting for gaming
I wish they'd also do a 100% version, I like having a numpad. You can bind buy commands to a numpad or if you use your keyboard for other games or just doing other things being able to have additional real estate is a nice addition for me.
they do, its the wooting 2he
@@breter98 Is there any difference between that one and the 80HE?
8k polling 100% and 80%.... Do you need more info spoonfed to you or you good?
@@sander373 How insightful! So then the only difference is that the 80HE has 8k polling and the 2HE has a numpad and no 8k polling? Arent you helpful, I appreciate it!
It is much older board but most features should be available fully
The Zinc 80HE is so amazing, especially if you want something „sturdy“. It sits on my desk and doesn’t move an inch and I love it! I‘m so happy with it and agree: best non custom keyboard out of the box.
I'm happy with my sharkoon Skiller.
what makes wooting so good is that their software is so good
As an engineer i need my F keys.
As a person in IT who enjoys music, I need my Arrow Keys, F Keys, Num Pad, Dedicated Media Keys.
why not learn to use layers? it’s weird at first but after a while it becomes muscle memory
go out and buy a wooting 60he+ only if that $180 isn’t a problem for a keyboard that you will probably like but also may not like. i found it to be a great gaming experience and it also just feels like it’s good quality for the price
The 60HE is still gonna be my favorite, cause it's got me on that lap keyboard gaming. Dunno what it is, just seems like my shoulders can be focused purely on my mouse movement

80he is the perfect size for me. Tkl minus 3 keys off the home cluster that i can reconfigure to the 6 important ones to me being del, pageup/down, home/end and printscreen is literally the perfect amount of keyboard i can sacrifice with 0 issues
Lightbar is completely useless functionality wise but cool to watch when showing keypress depth
I literally just bought a 60HE last month for my bday-
I need a Wooting HE, Low profiile, 75% keyboard.
I just want an updated TWO HE
I hope they make a tkl version
They wont
As someone who is studying a mathematical science, i am never going to even consider getting one of these as it currently stands, even though i find optimising gear really nice, because i need my keyboard to have a numpad.
They got a full size the Wooting two HE, I've had mine for 2 years amazing keyboard.
a good amount of people have dedicated numpads they plug in and out but i understand others not wanting to buy something just to have it. there’s also a wooting that’s full size that’s been released years ago
Feels like we've hit a point with keyboards where the only game changing things they can do will end up getting banned as features anyways lol
At least mice have some potential to grow in terms of ergonomics
Keep in mind you're paying for the customer support, a peripheral software that doesn't seem broken or awful to use. and the fact that Wooting is willing to push updates to a lot of their older boards too if a new feature such as SOCD comes out. I like knowing that I won't have something "irrelevant" in 2 years and I'll still be able to experience the newest features from a software standpoint for years to come (hopefully this stays true)
They update new features. But if board is not capable of new feature in anyway they wouldnt add it
@@JakubixIsHere Yea that is a good catch. I should have said new software features (that are applicable to the hardware). If they have new hardware then yea you'd have to buy the new thing for sure.
I agree the pricing is steep in some cases, but let's just remind that this is a very small company compared to Logitech etc. They need to scale up the volumes massively in order to enable lower pricing. The normal/casual 16 year old gamer is never going to end up with a Wooting keyboard as they just buy a random RGB mechanical keyboard (unless they are spoiled brats with rich parents).
I use INS, DEL, Home, End and Page up/down buttons everyday. The fact they don't have a TKL is just stupid. Would get the Steelseries Apex Pro but it doesn't have Print screen, scroll lock or pause break buttons for some weird reason.
You know u got all keycaps and u can remap right
After wooting there is no going back....
I need the light bar to see battery level. I feel anxious from worrying whether the battery is full or not.
There is no bettery

If the shipping times weren't forever, I would have went Wooting. Went with a Drunkdeer instead and even this "knock off" brand is an insane night and day difference between traditional mechanical keyboards.
What is the song playing in the background? Sounds like something from Megaman! I love it!
Am i the only one who likes a num pad and a 100% KB? Small boards feel too squished

They have worse switches and stabilisers. Main reason I didn't get one of those.
So is it just the stitches or the whole board?
$200 for plastic seems excessive but in the end you’re paying for the software
1:16 There is literally a delete key visible when it is said that there isn’t one. Constantly making easily avoidable mistakes
He’s talking about the 80HE genius the original keyboard didn’t have those
Too bad they don't have a 65% layout, I prefer the smaller form factor but with dedicated arrow keys.
WHERE ARE MY HOME AND END KEYS! Who uses insert… come on damnit!
300 for the plastic case is nuts IMO
I been wanting it for 2 months now. Whats the best overall?
Zywoo doesn’t use wooting though, just saying.
I got the 60HE and the 80HE and I regret buying the 80HE..
Wasn't the 60HE released in 2022? Not last year?
What mouse do you recommend pairing with the Wooting 80 HE?
I just want a full size wooting. I cant stand the minimalist keyboards.
I don't see the Steelseries Apex Pro here.
Guys should I get the 60He+ or 80He?
If you can play with 60% get 60 if not get 80he
Get the 80he its insane
At that point, why not just TKL? Boggles the mind.
Unique layout is more visable on pro competitions

A very nice keyboard, but went for the way cheaper Q1 HE.
Keychron is too mushy
Wooting is the GOAT
ok good news give me my aimbot now
Short answer: NO
Short Answer: Yes. Idk what OP is smoking. The 60 HE is amazing, it’s what you need at the top levels of any K&M, but having utilize custom layers to get function keys is a pain. The 80HE is an upgrade from the 60 HE in terms of general PC usability. The biggest criticism this video has is *checks notes* plastic…
don't compare a 65% size price from a TKL of course it will be cheaper.

Wooting ADHD
fire 68 way cheaper and is top notch
tkl is wayyyyy prettier than 65% imo and unless youre a keyboard enthusiast most people prefer a bigger form factor than a smaller keyboard.
I fail to see where the best keyboard is
The truth is it isn't really worth it. At first there was no real good competition in the market that could really compete, especially against wootility, but now it just doesn't make sense that keep charging prices like these. There only so much of a premium you can ask for when the only thing that puts you above the competition is software and costumer service. Other brands have now come out with that are better in every way quality wise and are good enough Software wise.
Look they give all keyboards they made free feature update. So even wooting one has like 90% of all keyboards they made. And you are covered with 4y warranty and most important they listen to community. Rn every brand is copying wooting trying to get every feature they release
@@JakubixIsHerewhich is good isn’t it? more affordable for people that can’t buy, and since they copy wooting, the keyboards has all the features you need. Just like when every switch and keycap manufacturer just copied cherry
