I think she's said "buy my books" often enough that it's stuck in my brain... had a friend struggling to make something recently, and I immediately said "you know, Kamui has a bunch of great books"
I've started cosplay and my dad helps a lot with foam work (just cuz he has more experience with dremals and stuff) and we love sending your videos to eachother just to talk about how amazing your work is, the stuff you do is seriously insane.
Svetlana you are a absolute queen of foam cosplaying i’m just starting out in cosplay and i watch your tutorials as well as Benny’s tutorials you guys are my king and queen when it comes to mentors. I can’t wait to see the full bone armour completed by far your monster hunter cosplays are my favourites. Hope you guys had a great halloween! Keep up the fabulous work! 🧡🖤💀🎃🏆🎖🤟🏻🎸🐶
Amazing craftsmanship, Bone Armor is definitely one of my fav armor transmogs in MH:World, can't wait to see the whole the whole thing coming together in the final video.
0:59 Damn Svetlana outing all the Anti-Fashion hunter noobs xD The low rank bone set is one of the coolest looking super early armor sets in my opinion :P
@KamuiCosplay Your nergigante cosplay is very impressive but gosh would the in-game armor have looked so much better if they made an actual chestplate instead of a spiky bikini
3:55 tip for pulling and pushing needles through thick fabric: try using a pair of pliers to pull the needle and a thimble to push the needle, to save your fingers 👋🏻🧵
Did my first costume over the span of about a week for Halloween. Had 3d printed, eva, and cloth elements, and I did everything from scratch. I used a cheapo handheld sewing machine to do the hemming and other work on the cloth elements (actual sewing machine is at home 100 miles away with my mom), and that was quite a nightmare to work with, but I'm planning on picking up an entry level brother sewing machine now to do some touch up for an event next week!
To save fingers try a thimble! There are leather ones which are easier to get used to than the metal ones; you can buy or make your own. Or open the holes first with an awl, then just lead the thread through, I think this is how leatherworkers say you should do it but I never have patience lol
I can't even explain how much I love watching you! I made my first sculpted mask and thought of you the whole time. I am going to tag you on my Instagram. I would love to hear what you think of the final product. It isn't even close to as epic as your stuff but for my first foam and sculpted mask I think it turned out pretty darn good! You are such an inspiration just adore you and your Husband's work!
i think the leather threading for the traditional effect at the side you might like to get a leather making tool that punch holes in the leather for easy threading and you will not hurt your fingers.
Pretty big fan, I'd say. This from a fan who has played since about a month after Freeedom Unite came out. Freedom Unite, Portable 3rd, Tri, 3U, 4U, Generations, World, Rise, and Frontier.
Respekt!! Hab mir eine Lederschuppenrüstung genäht, 1700 Schuppen....OMG.
Not sure if that's what you mean or I just didn't get the joke, but she showed how she made the head piece here: ua-cam.com/video/OyaLQ2deI4o/v-deo.html (and if you don't want to click any suspicious links, just check her latest uploads, it's about 4 months old)
I would really like to see a video on the shaping of the foam. Can be very simple and short. Tried my first armor, and while it came out okay for a Halloween costume, I really had trouble creating the round shapes beyond a slight bend.
I uploaded already plenty of videos how to make simple armor pieces, how to cut or dremel EVA foam, how to prime and paint it or how to work with foam clay. Just check out the other videos on my channel! :)
Excellent work, as always. By the way, I just saw the video of Zelda and Mina welcoming you both home. That was adorable. Seeing both girls virtually explode into kiss and cuddle bombs was very cute. I hope you had a great vacation.
I love all your cosplay. In order to see through the skull, a persicope-type viewer with mirrors could be created. I don't know if it would work but you could try another project
Nimm für das nächste mal eine Stechahle für die Dekonaht. Damit hast du wesentlich weniger Probleme die Nadel durch zu bekommen. Ist zwar ein Schritt mehr mit Löcher stechen, macht das Nähen aber angenehmer.
Do you ever get eye irritation from sanding the EVA foam? I made a t-60 power armor suit and when I used the dremel the dust somehow got in my eyes(I was wearing a full face shield). Maybe, when I took it off, it got in my eyes? They burned for 2 days. If you have ever experienced it, I just wondered how you prevented that?
Kamui: Does foam clay have an odour? I tried laying down interlocking foam tiles to create a home gym floor but the chemicals which I'm allergic to made me sick. I don't know if foam clay is made from the same material or if the same chemicals in it are found in those interlocking foam tiles as well, so I thought I would ask you since you work with it a lot. I'd prefer to go with a foam clay over EVA foam mats or Worbla but if the foam clay has that same strong smell, then I guess I'll have to go either with Worbla or even PVC sheeting. Thanks!
There are plenty of different formulas for foam clay, EVA foam and any foam materials. I know only the products from cosplayshop.be and I would say they are not smelly at all. I tried Barge cement once as well and it was awful. My own contact cement is so much better! So, I would really recommend just ordering samples from different vendors and check out what you like the most. :)
Your videos are such a boon to study and learn about cosplay crafts. I've gotta ask, when attaching the fur it looks like you've sewn a small strip in on itself to make a clean section to glue under armour pieces. Is that the case, or how does it work?
Very Very nice!!! Have you gone into detail about that Silicone Tape in any of your previous tutorials/books? I'm working on the Mosgharl/Harvest armor, and have been looking for a way to make the stuff stick to my arm in a similar fashion!
That cosplay looks great. If I had time, I would make a big and realistic painting of it. Are you ok whith that? It would be like my "Snorlax Relax" painting (but better).
Your Cosplays are always amazing! Do you have some super-powered Velcro though? I used some for my daughter’s Thor armour for Halloween, and one piece in particular just kept on falling off.
Omg are you me? 😂 I also made Barbarian Link in 2019 and had the same thought watching. Especially the tip with the silicone bands too keep the bracers from slipping, my leg wraps kept slipping down to my ankle every other step and I'd have saved myself so much trouble :')
Did this hold for long ? I've tried fabric glue for attach some foam part on fake leather, justl ike you, but he go away very easily in the first convention :D
Well, I uploaded already plenty of tricks to this channel. I would say the most important trick is not to give up though. If you are crying and want to burn everything down, then you are on the right track! XD
I think she's said "buy my books" often enough that it's stuck in my brain... had a friend struggling to make something recently, and I immediately said "you know, Kamui has a bunch of great books"
I probably DO have a book about that xD
This woman is a treasure. Her work is amazing.

It looks so cool right? I always wear the bone armor ehenever I can 😁
@@KamuiCosplay Yeah, specially the bone helmet, it fits with a lot of other transmog sets like the Vaal Hazak set.
I love your tutorials so much. They're what inspired me to get into cosplay myself! I have so many of your books
Awww, thank you very much! So happy to hear they were helpful! :)
@@KamuiCosplay the hat books are my favorites. They're all so fun and cute! I made a tophat for a gentleman plague doctor costume I'm working on

Yes, you are totally right! I always kept on wearing Nergigante or the Bone Armor ingame! :)

Thaha, I love how this absolutely savage-looking armor has french seams.
😅
amazing! I've been building my own bone armor and it's really cool to see all the different ways people make in-game costumes real!
Your tutorials are everything! Love it
outstanding, as always! you are incredibly talented!
Love watching you create! Look forward to all of your videos!
I started watching you a year ago and I am very impressed because your costumes have so much detail that I love him so much 😁😁😁😁😍😍😍😍😍😁😁😆

Thank you for joining the Corgi Squad! :)
Very cool! My favorite part of this one is the shoulder wrap thing, so fluffy!
Nice job ! Can't wait to it completed

Making that many bones is insane. You must have a load of motivation for these outfits. 😄
Your cosplay looks freaking amazing!! I love monster hunter so much, and seeing you geek out about it makes me really happy haha! :D
I recommend using a thimble for the hand sewing.
I'll look into it thanks!
Ohh, so that's what those small little caps are used for! All my life and I never knew.
Oh, you videos really cheer me up. Thank you!
That costume was very impressive...love the colours
Ohhh that leather bra looked so cool!!

Awww te amo, muchas gracias por tu talento compartido. ♥️
This must of been so satisfying to see the final result and it being really accurate
Omg finally you’ve uploaded so many pictures
Yeah sorry editing takes so long! 😬
I always loved this armor and your cosplay is just a dream come true 😍
Thank you for inspiring me to stick with my costume endeavors! I have exactly a month to get everything done and feeling a little overwhelmed. 😔
Don't stress yourself too much! Cosplay is about having fun creating, not creating something under stress
🤩Another great work of art has always Velana!!!🤩

You make it look so easy, and fun! (Especially giving your puppy a belly rub)
It really looks so amazing😍
Svetlana you could invest in a thimble (metal or leather) to hopefully protect your fingies!!!
You can use a awl to pre puncture the lether before stitching.
This is magic, amazing job!
Thanks so much!

My daughter wants to make our costumes next year. We wanted to do some kind of EVA armor. Gonna have to buy some books I guess. :)
I'm here with all the info you need ;)
