Dryer: Im sorry, but Im aware I may not be able to live up to what Finn used to do for you my dear. Gylfie: You won't know until you try. Dryer: You're right Gylfie, I have to.
Probably because they (they as the Animal Lover Community) go outside instead of people that dont go outside and start writing hate comments on the Internet
Honestly, Gylfie looked SO bewildered when Dryer took her catch from her so persistently. I'm just a few minutes in, so I hope that he gets better with that lol
so many highs and lows in the story. Loved how Thunder would pass the food to the younger siblings. Gylfie and Dryer certainly did an excellent job raising the chicks Thunder, Storm and Cloud, hopefully we will see them again👍
I feel for Dryer. He was going to remain a bachelor for the rest of life but was chased after. Then he had to work extra hard to feed the wife and babies. No wonder he wanted to keep his bachelor pad.
How interesting that Dryer needed to learn so much! Yet he did so & became a real champ. Thank you for a charming & educational view of Barn Owl family life.
He saw the first egg and got motivated very quickly! Talk about a papa proud to provide for his family! Based on what I've seen of the two of them on the live stream, this year, they're still a power couple when it comes to raising their lil owlets.
him luring her away from the eggs with food is such an interesting thing to see. They really are so interested in their own eggs! It’s the most precious thing
What a beautiful, funny, but also sad video. You talk briefly about Finn, but nothing about Barney, Gylfie's first partner. Gylfie is my great owl love and I hope she lives a long time and has lots of owlets. She has found a nice, funny partner in Dryer. I also love the owlets' hunting and flying exercises. It looks so funny, but for the little ones it is serious and vital. Not only Gylfie and Dryer did a fantastic job, but also you, REF, with this video. Thank you very much for that.
Well, have you ever ....?! Sharing food! This can only be revealed with a camera inside the nest, isn't it? Marvelous! Yeah! That makes me smile. I think each and everyone of us watching this must have a smile on the face.
The first time I saw a barnowl in real i thought it was a snowowl. I hadn't seen a snowowl before, but the barnowl has such a vivid, vibrationed feathercoat, with those glimmering spots in it, like diamonds almost, that I thought, this must be a snowowl. (Later on, working for the animal-ambulance, I saw what a difference there is between the two, ofcourse).
You have so wonderfully told us a beautiful story, Robert. Saddened by the loss of chick Number 4, but thrilled with the growth to adult for the remaining ones. I've enjoyed every second of your film. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talents so freely. It is a blessing.
One of the things that I loved watching, was how Dryer grew more and more into his role as a father. In real time watching many of the milestones, with each owl was beautiful. Cloud would scream when Thunder & Storm were at the entrance. But she did get up in the entrance very young. I loved when Dryer would sit across from Elm on his favorite branch, just watching the weather owls, before hunting. Thunder sharing food with his sisters was so cool, to watch live. Thunder was so independent and the best big brother. Then Storm & Cloud roosting together after fledging for a bit. Their bond was unique to watch too. I can’t help but tear up. I adore owls. These BO siblings were my first to follow on your channel. I have watched many of your videos. So I knew about Finn. I usually keep tissues near by when watching just in case. Not because of only sadness either. The happy moments too, can tear me up just as much. Dryer & Gylfie make a great team/pair. Dryer has definitely grown even more into his role as a father. That story to come. ;)
The way Gylfie takes charge in initiating mating at 04:38 is both fascinating and heartwarming, showcasing her incredible experience and determination as a mother!
Omg 😮 this couple has been thru so much even gylfie from the beginning. I love you post this so we can stay updated. It's just sad how mother nature can be so cruel with her animals. I sure hope everything comes out okay with them all always. 🥰🤗
Gylfie is such a survivor. I've been watching this barn owl since her last brood with barny and im happy to see she's still going strong with new chicks and a new mate.
I watched a lot of this super ‘lil tale in real time, daily, from your YT stage. Super rewarding to now get a piece of their on-going lives completely through fledging. Thank you SO much for sharing their continued lives. I found it mesmerizing! Oh, and did I mention AWESOME ⁉️ 😅 TYVM !

watching a young Dryer learning to be a good mate and expecting the woman to provide for him is hilarious.. it’s interesting how some developmental stages transcend species
It's incredible how many emotions, how much love, how many twists and turns the life of a wild animal has. Think about how every little life has its own story, its successes and failures. Thank you Robert for telling us the wonderful story of Dryer and Gylfie! ❤

I really enjoy your narration, it's clear you really care for these birds and are keen to share their lives with a wider audience. Thanks for all your videos! 😊
29:04 Boy did I hear that as something slightly different at first. 😂 Had to replay that part a few times and then with the captions on to make sure lol. Either statements would be true though! Poor Gylfie was having it rough time there for a moment, bless her heart.

Fantastic video! So glad to see Gylfie return and prove how fantastic of a mom she is yet again. And while Dryer might be an adorable bit oblivious, I think he got the spirit. Everything else Gylfie has proven able to handle.
I enjoyed your video very much and learned more about the fledgling process. Although, I audibly gasped when you showed the flashback of Gylfie's prior brood. Thank you so much for sharing!
Robert, I greatly appreciate your videos. Thank you for what you do for the animals! Do the parent owls remove the pellets made by the young? I have seen pellets before in your videos, but the nests look so clean compared to some other videos I have seen. Do young owls make pellets with even their first meals? Do the parents remove any other waste from the nest? Thank you for your time if you are able to answer!

Dryer's giant question mark around courtship and mating will always be funny.
Ah we've all been young and clueless lads at some time or another, Dryer ;) Hahaha
Okay yeah, Dryer is definitely Finn's brother after seeing how he fumbled mating. XD
Omg not Dryer acting like a broke boy 😂. Happy to see he got so motivated to provide for his family when he saw his eggs
Honestly, Gylfie looked SO bewildered when Dryer took her catch from her so persistently. I'm just a few minutes in, so I hope that he gets better with that lol
I almost felt like Dryer was treating Gylfie less like a mate and more like a new mom, lol
