Can I use poly connected to my pc with usb?
Should I buy it now or wait for the second generation?
This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for, I hope they price it smartly though.
Hi, query - I'm currently using a mobile phone playing Spotify (extreme) that is connected to an Audeze LCD-X. If I get the Mojo/Poly, I understand that spotify data will be transferred from the phone to the Mojo/Poly before being transferred back (processed through the Mojo's DAC/Amp). On that assumption, I have 2 queries: (a) does the phone's internal DAC process the data before its sent to the Mojo/Poly or is it 'raw' data that is sent? (b) does the fact that the phone and Poly are connected via Wifi mean that I cannot use the streaming on spotify at the same time and only listen to downloaded Spotify songs?
Hi Kumar! So what will happen will be that the digital data will be streamed across to Poly via Wi-Fi (recommended over Bluetooth for optimum sound quality), Poly will process the data and handover the digital file for Mojo for complete digital to analogue conversion. Your smartphones internal DAC will have absolutely no part to play in the process - the digital data will be completely unadulterated. Although Poly will connect to your smartphone, via Wi-Fi, both at home and on-the-go you will still be able to access the internet as you normally would. Internet services are not effected.
Chord Electronics thank you for your reply!!
How soon will an owners manual be online? Will there be a dedicated app? Is the Mojo MQA enabled or will it be in the future?
Hi Paul! The owners manual will be released just prior to launch in early April 2017. With Poly we want to promote flexibility, so there is no dedicated app - you can use Poly with whatever app you prefer. But because Mojo is not MQA enabled, Poly will playback MQA files - but will not perform the hardware decode.
Hi Paul, I wanted to come back and update you - Poly will now be launching in June.
FANTASTIC!!! Love to see some more videos of all your products.
Good news - there will certainly be more!
can poly connect with Bluetooth headset and streaming music to the Bluetooth headset?
Hi Yang! Unfortunately not, Poly only receives Bluetooth data.
When would this be available in the market ?
Hi Arthur! Poly will be available early March.
Hi Arthur! Just to update you, we're now expecting Poly to launch in June.
Is there loss of quality using Bluetooth or wifi?
Hi Nathan! Over WiFi there's absolutely no loss at all however, by the nature of the transmission, there is some loss with Bluetooth.
Hi, Chord Electronics!
One of the most important question for me: Is there a way to control music on SD card (via bluetooth?) WITHOUT compress anything. I mean, just use the phone as a remote/music player via BT and get the files played directly from the SD card to avoid compression? Or this feature will be available for Wi-fi only?
To be more specific: Once outside, should I expect Poly being a pure digital transport (without having to be at home) without any loss if files are stocked on SD card?
VintageFlanker really curious to see the answer to that.
Can you please reply to VintageFlanker's question below. It's probably the key question for some of us. cheers
Sure, at this moment in time the music stored on the Micro SD card can only be controlled by WiFi MPD and DLNA apps. When using WiFi you would configure Poly to connect to your mobile devices wireless hotspot, but don't be alarmed - none of your 3G or 4G data will be consumed and you will still be able to access the internet as you normally would. The apps simply read the metadata from the SD card, so no audio information is transferred back to your mobile device, and control music playback. Poly in this instance acts as a pure transport as you are interacting its internal processor to send the data to Mojo. There will be no loss of audio quality.
how can i dac work thou wifi thew dac has components right ? sorry i don't own a dac so i dont really know ,, oh so you change it put ya headphones in and use you mobile as a song selector i think i get it lol
Hi Ricky! Poly is the streamer/bluetooth/SD module attachment for our portable DAC/amp - Mojo, so when they pair together they make a very powerful portable wireless solution.
Awesome...hope the sound quality will be same..
You can trust us :)
the most valuable thing is the processor that processes the music integrates with the new generation phones and laptops for a truly music revolution
briliant idea
Thanks!
I’ve had the Poly for the best part of a year and it’s got to be the most confusing and awkward devices I’ve ever owned. To start the instructions are pretty hopeless and there is not anything more detailed online either (take note Chord!). Things were supposed to improve with the GoFigure App, but sadly it’s just as confusing and poorly implemented (icons that don’t do anything for starters). Every time I came to use my Poly it seems a complete lottery whether I could get the device working and would have to go through the whole procedure setting up every time. Often it would not connect or drop the network even though the phone nearby registered a good signal. Other times Roon or my playback apps don’t see the poly. To be honest I’ve probably spent more time trying to get this dam thing to work than actually listening to music. Firmware version 2 was supposed to improve things (it has a little) but installing it was a nightmare and did not go as chord said it would. I still have problems with Roon not seeing the Poly.
Chord is a very techy company, and so is this device. They really should have had a third party design the user interface and methods for those of us who are many levels down the techy scale. Chord make brilliant DAC’s and are undoubtedly one of the market leaders, but this streamer is a marmite device and just too temperamental. I’m still in two minds whether to send mine to eBay or give it another chance. When it works it’s brilliant, it’s just the “when” bit that really bothers!
I always bring MiFi(Mobile WIFI)when I go out
when mojo 2 comes , make this built in.
Welp
thank you for sucha good idea
thanks
Expensive stuff you sell, poor laughable videos and graphics you make. Kudos!
В Poly забагато зайвого. Я б хотів до Mojo додати плеєр з великою пам'яттю і екраном. Все решта зайве.
no dankpods enjoyer here?
