Chord have missed an opportunity here. The Poly should tether to your mobile phone to allow you to stream Qobuz, Spotify, Tidal on-the-go. I was ready to leave my LG V30 when I first heard about the Poly but it has missed the mark.
Probably works better too. I had to take the retailer who sold me my poly to small claims, to get a refund, it was so shit (kept dropping network, and the software inplementation was so poor, it was unusable). I won the case in the first 10 minutes of submissions. The judge couldnt believe what a piece of shit it was, nor that not even the techs from the shop could get it working reliably, whilst sayjng there was nothing wrong with it! And yes, that was the more recent software, once all the initial issues with it had supposedly been ironed out.
great review mate! How do you stream DSD files from your phone to poly, or the only way will be to load your DSD files to a micro SD card and load them to poly and play them through a DNLA app. If so, they app you were using works for DSD files?
Small security concern from a potential future buyer here. Initially, you simply connect to Poly, as it is unsecured and open, once you have finished inputting your wifi details and configured Poly, will it no longer broadcast itself and be discoverable to other people? Or is it possible to set a password, so it appears secured, when searching for wifi? I'm just worried anyone essentially may be able to connect to it and mess with its settings when I'm out and about in public, while it's connected to my phone's hotspot.
just a question? do i need to avail of the premium BubbleUPnP app so i can select the Poly's microSD as library? i am trying it out at the moment and it seems that the library i can access is from my Local android phone. thanks!
@@TotallydubbedHD thank you for the reply. as per your advice I followed thru (got my Mojo on Oct 2018) and just recently purchased the Poly. :) it is either the Poly or the A&K norma (sr15).
You said it is cheap ? Of Course if you are movie star, or Platinum seller pop/rap singer, or have N amount of income shareholder some of world expensive company's, but for average consumer this thing ridiculously overpriced, also you're not right this thing not only wireless streaming portable amp/dac in market, so Chord Electronics decided hey we haven't competition in market let's price this thing even more than overpriced mojo ! FIIO Q 5 out now for 500 usd it is wireless portable amp/dac without stupid add on item & it is more portable than chord product, this 2 devices together looks like father Ted's Brick, also not securely attached together 2 nd part is just hanging out & stressing rest of the already fragile (ports) in Chord mojo itself ( numerous people reported ports in this things so fragile they just snapping off out of device after 7-8 month of use ) Now this poly hanging out in this ports what a brilliant design for this money everyone should expect properly secure dock mechanism implemented but of course this isn't Chord's Priority they would like to see more snapped off ports in their product so people will buy a new units, deciding costumer's for this overpriced mojo so rare only rich people can shell out more money over time, Rob Watts genius he knows how make money from people who have it so you get my point in here.
Well, if you’re just talking about functionality there are lots of DAPs that do the same thing. But the mojo/poly sounds better than DAPs in the same and much higher price range. I think what he is saying, as others have said, you’d probably have to spend 4k on a dap to get equivalent sound quality. If your just a cheap iem and Bluetooth user you’re just not going to understand this.
Not quite sure M9 or M11 can drive demanding headphones like the Mojo does, but like you, I don't really see the benefit of that combo...specially as you also need a phone/tablet to make it works. And that Chord thing isn't really nice.
@@FriedEgg101 sry its almost 4am i read that you were saying get fiio over the more expensive mojo , not for mojo why on this day you got the stupid comment you may ask, i have the mojo and today im not poor anymore as got gifts from parents/relatives etc.

I bought a Fiio M9 to velcro to my mojo. The M9 is much cheaper than the poly but has all the same functionality as far as I can tell.
I brought Fiio K5 Pro instead, Chord is not worth it, its stupid to charge someone 500 pound extra for bluetooth

Heya thanks! From memory, you can use the DNLA app to do that. Alternatively, via microsd that'll of course work
Love ur channel. Just subbed! Did u get tidal to work with poly? I can play tidal on poly but it’s not streaming hi quality.......
thanks! I honestly can't remember - think it was via BubbleUPnP or simply via Wi-Fi
Did u get tidal to work with poly with master quality?
How about airplay?😅😊
Mojo + Fiio M6 + Shanling L2 cable =======>>> Match made in heaven for Spotify user like me. lol!
Nice setup!

one of Best videos I've seen how to set up poly..i play my music through Deezer and googleplay music was a nightmare get going.....
Robert STANWAY thanks bud! Yeah I found it hard at first, too - so I thought to share my own setup haha
Chord Mojo vs Shure SHA900 vs Sony PHA-3, Which one is better?
Not tried the others, so can't comment
Just a question Bluetooth through deezer Google Play music will I get quality sound from that via Bluetooth?.
I'm confused by the question
Hey. What will give more pleasure listening to Techno? Chong Mojo or RHA Dacamp L1???
what if i want to use the mojo with poly to play videogames on my pc connected by usb?
That wouldn't make any sense; it would be without the Poly.
good review - congrats. One thing I would like to add is that with the New limited Mojo/Poly package out now SD-card is provided with the package :)
Oh! Thanks for sharing :)
FIO makes something much more attractive and sleek for 349 USD
Yup, bit different but similar
yes, with inferior sound quality.
Like the way you give the viewer your permission to go and buy one if they want one.
That's normal, surely?
How’s the SQ compare when u use cable directly to mojo vs Poly wireless?
Hard to distinguish the difference really
that is so wrong... the poly does make the mojo sounds better....
Baffled by the pricing. Rather just get an AK Kann or something.

These comments are pretty ignorant, the mojo produces superior sound quality to those products...
Yeah its cheap 890 pounds .....
think of all the things you get vs what you would have to spend to get it :)
Get mojo for £370 on amazon, get Fiio M6 for £180 on amazon and boom, same functionality for £550.
