    It hasn’t been my experience that Whole Foods prices have come down significantly. I shop at Whole Foods every week. In early 2020, my weekly grocery bill ran from $85-100. During the covid pandemic, my bill for the same groceries ranged from $100-130. It’s still up there. I’m considering moving most of my shopping to Aldi’s and only buying a few specific items at Whole Foods.

      Go to France . Food prices are half compared to the US. Example, croissant in paris is 1.10 euros. In the US, one croissant sells for $2.75 in Whole Foods, Publix, fresh market and sprouts. 😮

    I’m questioning the pasture raised eggs in US grocery stores now. The eggs are starting to look too uniform to me and the yolks seem a lot brighter, not as deep yellow/orange as they used to be.

    Bravo to a man educating the public. Bobby reminds me of Sandy Gooch of Mrs. Gooch's (pre Whole Foods.) Both are serious teachers of nutrition. Pay more for healthful groceries as prevention of conditions and disease. Compare that to the cost of doctor visits and medication. Which makes more sense? Learn to cook simply and save a lot of money on processed food and restaurants.

    I wouldn’t mind it being explained to me why exactly these products are typically 1.5-3x the price of the heavily processed stuff if they are so simply made. Shouldn’t the lack of processing reduce the cost to produce?

    • @michelpanhuyzen9389
      @michelpanhuyzen9389 3 місяці тому +12

      The heavily processed stuff is government subsidized.

    • @plasticstuff69
      @plasticstuff69 3 місяці тому +12

      Not sure what you mean by simple ingredients. Generally speaking, big companies use the lowest quality ingredients as long as they can maintain taste. Avocado/coconut over canola oil is more expensive. Same with cassava/almond over bleached white flower.
      The demand for healthy products, while growing is still nowhere near the demand for the typical garbage so new brands have a hard time with costs.

    • @tatzja8074
      @tatzja8074 3 місяці тому +1

      Because organically grown foods are more expensive to grow - less yield, more insect damage, necessary crop rotation, etc. Grass fed, pasture raised animals are more expensive to raise - they require more land, don’t grow at faster/larger rates than their bodies were intended by nature, etc. High quality oils like olive, avocado and coconut are more expensive to produce than refined seed oils. Lower glycemic natural sweeteners like maple sugar are more expensive/labor intensive to produce than cane sugar or chemical sweeteners.

    • @suzannebornemann
      @suzannebornemann 3 місяці тому +1

      Organic Foods must routinely be 3rd party Labor tested for a wide variety of contaminants, along with the soil and water used against Heavy Metals Pesticides, Mycotoxins. They are not government subsidized like corn of which high fructose corn syrup is their main product that is found in so many processed foods.

    I go to the supermarket n always scan everything lol 😂 … but I have to be honest … some stuff I can’t see myself spending that much money … I do invest in paleo flour … n I do use seven Sundays muesli almond currant … amazing !!!! I do pick n choose certain things but I do cook many things myself … and make my own desserts from healthy high protein items.

    Heidelberg bread has no sugar at all. This is very popular in the Albany, NY area. Comes in all different varieties.

    Omg I love how you nonchalantly say: "but I care what goes in your pie hole" during the chips recommendation 😆 Sooo funny!

    You've talked a lot about how most avocado oils and olive oils are fake and/or low quality. How can you tell if the "good" oils in an ingredients list are really the good ones?

    Bobby, corn isn’t a nutrient dense food? No need to remind you that Mesoamerica thrived on corn, and yes, US corn is GMO, but Mexican corn isn’t (it was a full battle against Monsanto) being my point, not all corn is bad 🤷🏻‍♀️
