Andrew D. Huberman is an American neuroscientist and tenured associate professor in the department of neurobiology and psychiatry and behavioural sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine who has made contributions to the brain development, brain plasticity, and neural regeneration and repair fields. Much of his work is focused on the visual system, including the mechanisms controlling light-mediated activation of the circadian and autonomic arousal centers in the brain, as well as brain control over conscious vision or sight.] Huberman has been credited with coining the term "Non-Sleep Deep Rest" (NSDR), referring to practices that place the brain and body into shallow sleep to accelerate neuroplasticity and help offset mental and physical fatigue.

@Harry-rm5is a nurecover but wanted to see how much I enjoyed it before spending more money. I am now looking for a plunge with a chiller/heater.

      Same! 3 min if it’s in the 30s, 4-6 in 40s… 5-7 x a week

Most importantly be safe and listen of your body,
    bodyscan while in the water.
Take time to build up to that point of cold.
If you are just starting brand new just start taking room temperature showers starting at a temp you are comfortable with first and then build from there.
Hypothermia is real and it will make cold pludges dangerous if you can't tell when to get out over time.

To help with warming up while in the water put focus on the cold and hot spots in the body and breath out, spread that warmth and you will know when you feel it.

Question, why does my lower leg hurt. Is it bad, I feel like my nerves or blood vessels are going to pop. If it wasn't for my legs it would have been a piece of cake

OK so first of all I got respect for this Andrew something tells me he’s not actually doing what he preaches I’ve heard him talk about thermal barrier and I totally get that but I have yet to find a video of him performing what he preaches about cold plunging I’ve personally been cold plunging for almost 2 months in 29°F water my highest being 35°F and there is absolutely nothing easy about sitting in it for three minutes whether or not you’re moving or sitting still not sure how I feel about this clip I may have to watch the whole interview hopefully I don’t sense a lot of bullshit in hindsight it’s definitely help me with muscle soreness from exercising every single day and most of all anxiety. What threw me off was when he mentioned his cold cold plunge temperature and how uncertain he was and how quick he was to talk about, oh I have another one that’s colder. Joe Rogan smelled blood here
