There are many years where my all time favorite game changes. Devil May Cry 3 often ranks #1, mainly because it's the total package....fast paced, skill based combat, excellent level, design, a kick ass soundtrack, compelling characters, and a great story. But as always, even the all time greats have their sins.

Correction, if you manage to kill 100 enemies during the credits sequence, you will see that vergil attempted to battle mundus in his already wounded state.

As for sin number 20... Agni and Rudra actually do speak (and even laugh) when performing certain combos, despite Dante telling them not to.

I'd say pretty much everything is beautifully wrong when it comes to the story. And this is one of the reasons why the game is so great.

I mostly agree with you on everything except Dante’s outfit. Exactly what do you consider “edgy”. You have shirtless with a red coat in comparison to a red coat but an outfit that looks like it’s made entirely out of belts. DMC1’s outfit is WAY edgier!
One year late, but I also think this outfit is better. For the context of this game, of course. Dante is younger and is definitely edgier in this game, especially before he fights Vergil for the first time. So him wearing nothing but an unbuttoned coat, with nothing beneath it (along with other clothing he has besides those), shows how this is a more rebellious teenage Dante
2 years later and i kinda have to say that what he says doesnt makes sense because Dante definitively was an edgy person at the time of DMC3 (kinda obvious) which makes his outfit much more fitting and probably only second to best to the DMC1 outfit in DMC3

Devil May Cry 3 has one of the most underrated story in a videogame.
Skipping 2 is the 2nd best decision youve ever made, the 1st is still making a channel.

Meh. Because gameplay wise 2 is fine. It has some interesting monsters, playing as Trish in that game was fun as heck and I for one still like Lucia as a character and premise. The problem with 2 is just that it gets everything else horribly wrong and it tries for an actual edgelord Dante which was never going to work.

I love how the boss fight at the end of 5 is the opposite of this one. This time, after Vergil rejected his humanity and went fully over to his demonic side, he finally accepts his humanity and fights Dante on equal footing

But overall, I see his point.
That opening scene actually has a really nice touch once you beat the game and see it again for your next playthrough.
It's Lady narrating about the final duel while showing the cutscene for the first. After beating one difficulty and immediately moving on to the next it's more obvious.
I kinda like it and personally take 5 sins off for it. The game was made for replayability and it shows well.

This is probably the lowest amount of Sins you've had for a game, and for such an awesome game, I can see why. I kind of wish you added more cutscenes, but most of them were too great to be sin worthy.
Due to the fact this game is perfect in nearly every way, there is really not a lot of faults in this game to give it more sins like previous games.
What about re2?(the originak)

Personally I think that should've been the focus of the Vergil portion of DMC3SE instead of copy/pasting him in the main game.

To each their own, I haven’t played any DMC games to date but if they are this good I might check out the 5th one that just came out
@@dontpreorder2783 you will be missing on half the fun because the story of dmc5 continues after 3, 4, and 1 (plus the anime and manga but those arent really important) if you skip 3 and 4 you wont understand the story and its hype

Ahh Vergil...one of the few boss fights I enjoyed and feared at the same time. And I get to relive all of it in 5. ^_^
The fact that I went through my whole childhood and nobody ever mentioned how great Devil May Cry ever was always made me sad. So sitting here seeing thousands of people love and appreciate one of my all time favorites makes me so happy 😭
I wouldn't go so far to call the climax "shakesperan" but it did do a excellent job summing up the characters um....characters in one scene. It shows that both brothers are hell bent on the path each has chosen and will not falter, no matter what.

I've beaten the game and I haven't seen any disses. There's a few references though.

3:13 I have some problems with this sin.
No one, even on their first playthroug, thinks that, they all know that scene and the narration happens latter. You could have said something like "and here's some backstory that you'll never understand unless you buy the manga".

Anyone who calls Dante an edge lord, either skipped the cut scenes, or doesn't know what an edge lord is. Dante is a goofball, characters I'd call edge lord would be someone like Gladion from pokemon, y'know someone who pouts and says "depressing" things for no reason. Dante, does not do this
Actually if you do a specific combo with Agni and Rudra, they both say "DIE! DIE! DIE!" And "YES! YES! YES!" And it ends with Dante finishing it by yelling "SILENCE!"
The sin counter should be 31, there first encounter is in the dmc3 manga and of you kill 100 demons in the end credits you see Vergil preparing to fight Mundus.

There's a lot of sins that really shouldn't be sins if you follow the lore in chronological order from games to comics alike.

There are also sins that get explained in dialogue. Case in point, Lady showing up. Arkham says that he manipulated her to be where she is. Cerberus calling the tower a land, the whole tower is literally a portal to the underworld and thus how you sometimes see things like that moon indoors.
That bit about the lore being wrong for the necklace, except the clip supports what Vergil said. Dante is the one that called it his mother's necklace which she separated and gave to them and Vergil corrects him by saying that it was a key to the underworld first. Then it was given to humans. And by humans he would mean his mother, because even then talking to his brother he can't bring himself to talk about her. That is outside of the vaguest of terms like when he tells Dante that without strength you can't protect anything. Implying that was why they couldn't protect their mother.
5:35 you can also wait until later in the game (after the second fight with Vergil whilst working your way back up) to get Artemis

I LOVE THIS GAME!!!
I played this and felt so much at home! Fast, chaotic, energetic, fun... it was A BLAST!!! Also, how combos work is beautiful, I can change my weapons and continue my stream and it was GLORIOUS!!! I got a decent amount of SSS with just my learning experience of other games in the genre, and it was still challenging to play through. I can say now I'm a fan of this series~
Thanks to that I bought 5 this last Black Friday sale and I'm picking it up once I'm done with Control and a playthrough of Persona 5 for the holidays.
Looking forward to the next one
