Vergil's DMC4 campaign should have been a What If scenario in which Dante never showed up to Fortuna and Yamato was still in The Order's possession, so Vergil comes instead to retrieve it from them.
Gameplay wise, Vergil wouldn't be any different than he is when you play as him. I'd have replaced Force Edge with Sparda just to grant him a bigger power boost when using it and a stronger DT. Mostly to show us what a Vergil wielding the Sparda would've been like. In the cutscenes he crashes the church instead of Dante and would be effortlessly ruining his enemies without his sword the way he did to Nero in DMC5 - which he does again here, but without ripping off his arm. Nero is tasked with pursuing Vergil the way he normally pursued Dante. By the time Vergil gets to the lab, Yamato has already been restored and taken by Nero. Agnus tries to ambush Vergil with Gladius but Vergil catches it and uses it to interrogate Agnus about Yamato, saying he had briefly sensed its energy here (when Nero awakened its DT). Agnus tells Vergil about the demon kid Nero who restored it and was able to use its power. Vergil immediately realizes who and what Nero is and pursues him. Instead of Yamato, Vergil discovers Beowulf in the possession of the Order instead. Vergil battles Nero for the second time who is now holding Yamato in his hand. Just like his second battle against Dante, Vergil now breaks out Beowulf which he uses to retrieve Yamato. Once he has it, Vergil cuts a portal open and is about to leave when Nero pleads with Vergil that he needs it to save Kyrie, who is being held hostage. Vergil knows he is degrading but actually has more time at this point of the DMC story. He decides to do his bastard son a favor for causing all this and kill Sanctus himself, who should be fodder for him even in his weakened state. After fighting Sanctus, Nero shows up to save Kyrie but gets absorbed into the Savior. Now Vergil has to do the backtracking and destroy the Savior. Once he does, Sanctus is dead, Nero and Kyrie are saved and Vergil departs with Yamato, bidding a quiet goodbye to his son. The end.

Sin #30 Dante isn’t fully embracing his demonic power at that moment. He ,at that particular moment, is just using enough of his power and strength to just toy and play with Nero. Remember how DMC5 where he said he felt that Nero was Virgil’s Son but wasn’t sure? This is him at that moment “testing the waters” and trying to confirm his suspicion. Especially now after Nero had shown off his Devil Buster. Sin Devil trigger doesn’t activate/take effect because the whole purpose of the rebellion sword is to embrace one of the two halves of any figure, instead of keeping them separate and contained like how the Yamato does. The two swords are polar opposites, much like Dante and Virgil. When Virgil stabs himself, he embraces the power of the Yamato knowing it’ll separate his human from demon. Rebellion awakens Dante’s inner Devil trigger in DMC3 because the sword’s power was feeding off of Dante’s hatred for Virgil after he’d been bested. Theoretically he could’ve gone into sin devil trigger at that moment as well, but Dante doesn’t know to fully embrace his demon power to send him to that state. Rather he ties it with his human nature and thus lets his demon power harmonize with his human self. Dante only gets the idea to stab himself with the rebellion after seeing his old home and thinking about his father and mother, who gave Dante and Virgil Rebellion and Yamato (Respectively). He didn’t have devil sword Sparda 2 his devil power had been activated at that point Just saying incase you didn’t know
Well that sin doesn't make much sense either. Since in DMC5 Dante had Sparda with him so it can be absorbed into Rebellion whereas in DMC4 Dante didn't have another Devil Arm or Sparda with him when Nero impaled him with Rebellion. Also Nero stabbed Vergil with Yamato in his boss fight and if we apply the same logic to Dante he should've split apart like when he stabbed himself with Yamato. Not only that but everytime Vergil stabs Dante with Yamato shouldn't he have split Dante's soul like it did for Vergil. The only obvious solution is the fact only the user of the weapons can utilize their special ability or someone who mastered the weapon. Dante in 5 stabbed himself with Rebellion with the intent to activate it's ability whereas Nero stabbed him with Rebellion by throwing it at him. And even then like I said before Dante needed Sparda to absorb which he didn't had on him when he was impaled in DMC4.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS! You’ve been teasing it for months lol I just can’t believe you didn’t remove more sins since there were sooooooo many sick and funny moments in the game!
When he goes to talk about the Blue Rose, he does know that Ebony and Ivory are modded and glorified (yet still very beautiful) Colt/Remington 1911s right?
I am huge dmc4 fan, but this was super funny and like 85% correct. Things like Nero not having his demon arm for his entire life(that was stated in the novel or something. I believe he was wounded by demon and his "blood" awakened giving him that arm. Which Nero kinda addressed in Yamato and devil trigger cutscene) or his hand glowing when there was powerful enough demon around(same kinda thing was in the dmc anime, when amulet annihilated powerful demons but just burned an arm abit of the weak one), etc. Btw, this cutscene with devil trigger(song) looks and feels amazing.
other sins: *Dante's Sparda costume does not make Dante use Force Edge or Sparda. *Vergil's Corrupt costume does not turn him into Nelo Angelo. *Trish has no super costume.
17:17 it's even MORE Ironic because Creto's voice actor is Dan Southworth who also does Vergil. I'm surprised you guys didn't point that out lol. And it's also probably why they used the "Foolishness" line here.
@@AveragePizzaEnjoyer5 After doing some digging because I was SURE ha had a part in Credo, it seems to be a split between if he just motion capped him or voiced vs him not voicing. He used to be credited for Credo and now he isn't. This is so odd. I was 100% sure Dan was Credo now It's TJ. I think Dan just did the Motion Capture for Credo from what I'm finding so I think you're correct.
GCN: "Oh. I see, Nero. Your arm only glows when it's convenient and the plot demands it." Me: Really? I always thought that Nero's arm glows when it's near people who are related to him by blood( aka the cutscene when we first see Dante, shooting the Pope in the same church Nero was in ) or supernatural weapons used by people( who are related to him by blood ) for a very long time( aka Vergil's sword, Yamamoto ).
4:19 I dont think Neros arm glows to show nearby demons. It reacts to the blood of Sparda. Thats why it only glows when Dante shows up in 4 and when Vergil shows up in 5. It also glows when near the Yamato because it has 1/3 of Sparda’s power within it (“"The Dark Knight Sparda split his power in three parts. One blade bore his own name; the second blade was named to embody retaliation; the final blade was named to embody a god of death." - DMC 5).
I'm gonna be honest this was my second DMC game I played and I enjoyed Nero the change of character isn't bad or jarring unless it's the 6th game cause that's somewhat weird
Nero: Let me guess, more demons? GCN: If it bothers you that much, why don't you just destroy the hell gate? Me: If it bothers you that much, get the hell out of a Devil May Cry game, Nero.
You do realize that wasn't an insult to GCN, nor his content, right? The whole point was if Nero had an issue with more demons in a DMC, then he is in the wrong game. Twas a joke.
Just wanna point this out for anyone who doesn't know about what happened to Cerberus. It was in a devil may cry novel but what basically happened was that Dante got into a fight with a demon and started using Cerberus until the demon ended up destroying the devil arm. Can't really remember what happened after that but think he replaced it by turning the demon he was fighting into a devil arm.
5:58 I know what you're referring to, but the reason he didn't unlock SDT is because he didn't have Sparda to fuse it with. Rebellion fuses power together, and without the second half of that power. There's just no effect.
your whispering sounds pretty hilarious! After e3 2019, you have to do devil may cry 5 then devil may cry 2 and you're done with every single DMC game also nice infinity war reference btw
Andrew Frosos You May not know this but GCN pretends that DMC2 doesn’t exist. Plus Crowbcat made a video on DMC2 which shows enough to know why it is hated.
So about Yamato being in the possession of the Order of the Sword. The Order found Yamato on the outskirts of Fortuna Island. It says this in the DMC 4 novel. So how and why it is found on the outskirts of Fortuna is another mystery
Unrelated to the video....I thank you for exposing me to the RE series. RE2 is the first RE game I've played in awhile and I'm calling it a masterpiece.
Agnus doesn't have a bullet hole cause they're saving him for the post dmc5 spinoff where you'll have to kick his ass as Nico, since it has been proven many times that unless your body is either destroyed or desintegrated, you are not truly dead... Unless you're Vergil, he can survive that
Boy, if he's that broken over Dante's alternate outfit, he'll definitely have a breakdown in DMC5. But to be honest, I agree with him. The black haired Dante just simply doesn't bode well with me. I can't say anything for others obviously because everyone has different preferences.
10:18 so I have a theory. So at the end of dmc 3, Vergil had to fight Mundus and lose. Hence why he was mind controlled. So I believe Yamato was shattered and somehow was found in the human world, near or at fortune. This is a theory and I don’t know if this is right.
Well, to be fair, when Dante pierced himself with Rebellion in DMC5, the reason he acquired the Sin Devil Trigger was because he had the Devil Sword Sparda in his possession and absorbed its power. So...
@@caitlinbrewer4843 Maybe, but there are some things speaking against this. First, he is the protagonist of the game, so .... plot-armor. Next, he is not unkillable, as you could cut his head of and he would die, but he almost everytime seems to get a powerboost if something like this happens, for example when he was stabbed and through this gained additional demonic powers( plot-armor says "hello") and the best reason for Dante being (almost?) invincible: he defeated the King of Demons. You know, just the one who is the strongest demon of them all? I mean, why else would he be the King of Demons if he is not the strongest? And Dante killled him. The only one who is a real match for him is bis brother, and in Dmc 5 their fight was a draw. So, can his brother defeat him? Maybe, but Dante, before fighting him, also fought a whole army, tons and tons of demons, while his brother was just sitting around and still, he could not defeat Dante. So... why exactly is he not invincible?
@@DantesInferno96 but Urizen was a part of Vergil so he wanted to kill Dante, and he would only be victorious If he did so, because... well, he's Vergil. But Dante's still alive. So, is this a defeat or not maybe a draw
Nero's arm glows when there is a powerful demon or devil arm nearby. That's why when Dante gets near the church the arm reacts and when he gets near Yamato it reacts, but that doesn't excuse some moments like with the ice frog when it should have reacted and the snake lady.
Tip for the dice puzzles: The number you roll is the same as the number that's on top the moment you hit the die. This makes this part very easy to clear!

It's everyone's favourite part of the game, of course there's a sin for it being skipped
*sees notification* INSTANT CLICK!!!!!!
Also, Dante is everyones spirit animal
Actually, mine is Vergil.
Mine's axel from kingdom hearts
Haha nerds, Dante is who you should spirit animal
@@JonathanPaspula Dude, just because we have a different opinion doesn't mean we don't like him. He's just not our favorite.
@@mathewmoscinski7799 lol I kid kid, I like Vergil too dw, even tho Dante's my favorite. Everyone's entitled to their opinion
5:55 lol I already know the sin for DMCV
Actually pays off that time too
Well that sin doesn't make much sense either.
11:26 You did it you used Devil Trigger in DMC 4 I am proud of you
Video game developers: nobody can find any mistakes when we develop video games
Gamingsins: hold my beer
17:00
Oh Dante is getting some just fine.
He's just smart and uses protection.
Are you gonna try on mk11 I enjoyed mkx and I wanted to c what u think
Im pretty sure he's gonna finsh the DMC series and then do E3, And MK11
He probably will, since he's done the other recent MK games. It probably takes a long time to make one of these videos.
Maybe in another 2 years
@@mathewwilliams1815 I don't mind waiting, I can always re-watch his other sins videos.
This!
*New GCN video*
The time has come and so have I.
Have you come to devour the moon, and bring an end to this era?? XD
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS! You’ve been teasing it for months lol
I just can’t believe you didn’t remove more sins since there were sooooooo many sick and funny moments in the game!
9:40
"Luck! Blind! Stupid! Simple! DO DAH! CLUELESS! LUCK!"
wait, where is the ending when Nero slaughtered some scarerows and Kyrie just stand there, watching and screaming instead of running away?
Dante's shop is in Redgrave instead of Fortuna ;)
We later learn that Nero appears occasionally in the Persona 4 anime
Also obtaining a harem for himself
When he goes to talk about the Blue Rose, he does know that Ebony and Ivory are modded and glorified (yet still very beautiful) Colt/Remington 1911s right?
Neros arm only reacts to demons with some kinda connection to him
*Capcom exists*
GCN: That's is a sin
Who wouldn't sin Capcom at this point
That time they are still crapcom so it counts as a sin
I'll sin Capcom til they make another Lost Planet.
The sarcasm in every video always makes me laugh. Even though you guys said you're not funny, but some how I do find you guys funny
I think Dante not telling Nero about Vergil was all about him not wanting him to follow his footsteps.
Just to clarify i liked DMC reboot twice. _ . Im going to cry in the corner now
DmC reboot is not DmC is the problem. Capcom would've been better if it was just a new IP.
other sins:
*Dante's Sparda costume does not make Dante use Force Edge or Sparda.
You mean credo right? Not kratos
I did mean Credo not Kratos. What a misspelling on my part lol.
@@magniteproductions3767 it would be kinda awkward to have a video game character who is a brutal angry warrior have a calm voice
Hate to break it to you pal, but Credo is voiced by TJ Rotolo (Frank West)… not Dan.
"Played 3 devil may cry games before" bold of you to assume i'd inflict the second one to myself
GCN: "Oh. I see, Nero. Your arm only glows when it's convenient and the plot demands it."
Me: Really? I always thought that Nero's arm glows when it's near people who are related to him by blood( aka the cutscene when we first see Dante, shooting the Pope in the same church Nero was in ) or supernatural weapons used by people( who are related to him by blood ) for a very long time( aka Vergil's sword, Yamamoto ).
Vergil’s Sword is called Yamato, as in the Battleship. Not Yamamoto, as in the General.
@@cooperchance7720 Oh sorry. My bad
Thank you GCN for another great video! :)
Nero: Let me guess, more demons?
GCN: If it bothers you that much, why don't you just destroy the hell gate?
Me: If it bothers you that much, get the hell out of a Devil May Cry game, Nero.
someone has GCN salt....
Do I need to explain why this comment is utter garbage?Or do you have enough braincells to do it yourself?
You do realize that wasn't an insult to GCN, nor his content, right? The whole point was if Nero had an issue with more demons in a DMC, then he is in the wrong game. Twas a joke.
@@DarkWarrior-xk9ub You edited the nero part in.
@@yanribeiro7108 I am aware of this. I only did that cause apparently I had to make the joke more obvious that I was referring to Nero.
Dammit Capcom! DMC fans are trying to erase the reboot from their brains don't remind them
23:24 I can get behind that idea, Internet make it happen, I NEED THIS!
Well, better than Dartigan’s. That’s for sure
Both channels give little to no thought in their sins, but dmc4 is such a mess that this video actually did alright...
@@aTalkingKoala8294 yeah but this is for jokes so i can get behind that.Datigan on the other hand seems a bit more logical
This one had many parts copied from Dartigan's video.
"Nero... I don't feel so good..." *Fades away*
I absolutely lost it here lol
1:45 umm this Vergil was a prequel to dmc3 Vergil
5:58 I know what you're referring to, but the reason he didn't unlock SDT is because he didn't have Sparda to fuse it with. Rebellion fuses power together, and without the second half of that power. There's just no effect.
I'm 90% sure Dante literally says something along those lines in game
And never got his constant bitching about it
your whispering sounds pretty hilarious! After e3 2019, you have to do devil may cry 5 then devil may cry 2 and you're done with every single DMC game
also nice infinity war reference btw
Andrew Frosos You May not know this but GCN pretends that DMC2 doesn’t exist. Plus Crowbcat made a video on DMC2 which shows enough to know why it is hated.
@@sleepygamermax6782 During the sin video for 5 he's gonna take the box art of DMC2 and give it a 1,000 sins. I bet
It's been 10 years and I only now noticed dante looking over the church in the beginning
Can u plz do a sin count on dying light for the upcoming sequel
So about Yamato being in the possession of the Order of the Sword.
The Order found Yamato on the outskirts of Fortuna Island. It says this in the DMC 4 novel.
So how and why it is found on the outskirts of Fortuna is another mystery
11:17 "snake, talk to me, snake, SNAKEEEEE"
Unrelated to the video....I thank you for exposing me to the RE series. RE2 is the first RE game I've played in awhile and I'm calling it a masterpiece.
The arm reacts to the blood of sparda.... not just "demons"...
Plus when you have to find some red orbs, heh
Agnus doesn't have a bullet hole cause they're saving him for the post dmc5 spinoff where you'll have to kick his ass as Nico, since it has been proven many times that unless your body is either destroyed or desintegrated, you are not truly dead... Unless you're Vergil, he can survive that
Finally another video to fill my dark soul with light
Dante in the first mission mocking the fact that the swords the Order uses can be rev’d to power up will always be gold.
Boy, if he's that broken over Dante's alternate outfit, he'll definitely have a breakdown in DMC5. But to be honest, I agree with him. The black haired Dante just simply doesn't bode well with me. I can't say anything for others obviously because everyone has different preferences.
Same just leave it in the past but I will say in DMC4 Dante does pull off the Reboot look far better then the Reboot itself which is weird.
@@OneYuDBZSlayers what he looks like a goofball
10:18 so I have a theory. So at the end of dmc 3, Vergil had to fight Mundus and lose. Hence why he was mind controlled. So I believe Yamato was shattered and somehow was found in the human world, near or at fortune. This is a theory and I don’t know if this is right.
So when Nero DT’s it makes a devil triggered Vergil but it looks like a JoJo Stand. Wait is DMC4 a giant JoJo reference.
This is a very VERY old joke.
It was confirmed that the stand is actually a reflection of Nero's soul. It's double confirmed by Vergil's doppelganger stand in DMCV.
Nah, Nero is actually Yu Narukami from Persona 4
Got here immediately, I've been dying for this
Well, to be fair, when Dante pierced himself with Rebellion in DMC5, the reason he acquired the Sin Devil Trigger was because he had the Devil Sword Sparda in his possession and absorbed its power. So...
Wait this is not the MK11 sins video I've been waiting for
"Dante's not invincible" ... Good joke, man, I almost believed you. Seriously though, Dante is the definition of being invincible
If we're being technical, Dante is unkillable not invincible.
@@Raidon484 he did lose to Urizen several times before gaining the power of Sin DT.
@@DantesInferno96 but Urizen was a part of Vergil so he wanted to kill Dante, and he would only be victorious If he did so, because... well, he's Vergil. But Dante's still alive. So, is this a defeat or not maybe a draw
@@Raidon484 a draw yes. The only person who can defeat Dante is Vergil.
Nero's arm glows when there is a powerful demon or devil arm nearby. That's why when Dante gets near the church the arm reacts and when he gets near Yamato it reacts, but that doesn't excuse some moments like with the ice frog when it should have reacted and the snake lady.
This is much better than Dartigan's one u actually researched the material for the vid thank u
Not just researched, but clearly played the game at a high level
