Back in the day, I had a couple of beers with buddies after work, drove home, and started watching MTV. A few minitues later, I saw this video for the first time. When it concluded, my initial thought was, "Perhaps I drank more beer than I thought." Nice reaction/review. Thank you.
The video was considered very groundbreaking in its day (mid-1980s) but probably looks very basic now. It's not got much to do with the song (which somebody already mentioned is 100% about - let's say the physical act between a man and a woman) apart from perhaps the one very brief scene at the begining of the video. You might have already discovered, as this reaction is several months old, that Peter Gabriel's music before this album (called "So") is very different. It explored some darker, heavier themes and was much less commercial - very innovative but more of a challenging listen (I do like it, though). Just saying, in case you decide to listen to his older music, it is very different to what you've already reacted to. All the music on the So album - and the follow up album "Up", though, I find very beautiful and uplifting.
You're damn right. She is really pretty and seeing her get into the song had me grinning and chuckling. I always like seeing people of this generation watching old songs from previous decades different from what they listened to through their life, especially young African Americans like her, they often have the most interesting and entertaining reactions.
The thing that grabs me most after all these years of seeing this video, is just how committed Gabriel is to the video making process itself. Can you imagine, even more a moment, any of today's artists sitting there for hours and hours on end whilst animators incrementally move objects around them? Nick Park (Wallace & Gromit) did the chicken dancing part by the way
❤❤❤❤When the videos was true pieces of art. A Big hug from Valparaíso, Chile P.S.... You stayed quiet enjoying the video. I had the same reaction 😂😂😂😂😂
It`s like stop-motion animation on drugs, I move in a similar way if I don`t have a curry once a month but your face watching it was priceless and as a returning subscriber we love you too.
@@GracieReacts You'll have to head out to one soon when you get a break from making videos. [Although Amusement Parks give a better experience tbh imo]
The technique used for this kind of animation is stop-motion, it's also used in claymation, that's why clay figurines are also used in this clip, à la Wallace and Gromit.
Gracie, here's an idea. Maybe you could do one Lennon Sisters song each week on a certain day. You do such good reactions to them and there are tons of music videos on youtube by them. There's no way you will run out of them to do all because there are so many, lol!
I know it's about sex but I've just realised that all the the references like "big dipper" and "bumper cars" are about, erm, "off the roof" etc. Bonk!

just a camera and a lot of imagination, no digital resources, no autotune, it's the simplicity and genius of the 80's. Greetings from Chile.
It's fun and unique

80s were a weird time good music with TRIPPY videos
True creativity is born from limited resources.
Wow amazing 😍
I think his daughters are at the end of the video. (Background)
You are soooo beautiful!! Great reaction, so fun!! 🤙✌👍

You have the most beautiful smile I’ve seen in a while, very pleasing to the eyes

I liked how you were so into it, both the video and song. And the animation is mesmerizing to me. When I need energy, positivity, I just watch this.
just so you know this song was about being married and having a period of them not talking or even sharing the same bed
Animation by Nick Park
It's cool 😎

Cool chickens....
MTV completely. Classic.
"Connie Haines & Van Johnson - 'Let's Choo Choo Choo To Idaho' - from 'The Duchess of Idaho' (1950)"
Peter Gabriel "Big Time" official music video is great too.

It was done by Nick Park who did Wallace and Gromit.
'Big Time', from the same album is also a great song to react to.
One of the greatest videos ever made. The sledgehammer is a ride at the carnival. It makes you very dizzy
Ohhh I have never been to a carnival

I wonder when I'll get that break 😂
I like your reactions
If you haven't heard his song called "Big Time", I highly recommend watching and listening to it.
This one definitely had your attention, lol. Its a great video. Very creative!

thank you 😁. Now I have learned something new.
@@GracieReacts A short and zany example of this technique :

@@GracieReacts You can thank the creators of Shaun the Sheep, Wallace & Gromit, and Chicken Run, Aardman Animations for this masterpiece.
Its the video for me😂

check the live version from same concert as In your Eyes 1990's!
I did 😊
6:20 its stop motion, the camera takes a frame then they move the clay figure or objects and take another frame to make it a motion
