Good idea, 18” extensions on both side will make your boat 3 feet wider, making total beam width to around 6 feet. Thanks for sharing. I would turn clamps upside down, just in case if someone fall on them no one gets poked on eye or someplace critical. C- clamps maybe?
If it's been working for you that's great - noticed that the force upwards on your pontoons is bending your canoe's cross strut brace in the middle. But I imagine that would be fixed easily.
