congrats on butch's successful heart surgery, really nice job Wyatt, I enjoyed the series very much and I appreciate you taking the time to do such a nice job of capturing the build.
Men like you are the backbone of America. We'd all be riding horseback and riding in wagons if it weren't for people like you. The lawyers, bankers, stockbrokers and the like are nothing without the mechanic.
FYI on that transfer case rebuild. When you have that case tail shaft up on the bench, you need to get a pry bar under that rear bearing just slightly to get that rear snap ring to seat.
Hey man fellow mechanic here it doesn’t matter where you get a steering gear from any of those reman’s form the big part stores are junk I won’t install anything other than RedHead steering gears on customers trucks. They are amazing so tight and built supper well! All because I’ve had to do so many labor claims on ones form the big box parts stores
It jumped out at me too. They all complain about all the globs of sealant floating around inside when they disassemble, then they lay down a 1/4" bead when they reassemble.
@@fascistpedant758 yep. The only thing I do differently is smear the sealant out to a thin even layer to make sure I didn't miss or go to thin anywhere. But that's just a cya thing and not really necessary if you're confident in your bead laying :)
Great video man! Very informative! Super impressed with the Duramax longevity seeing as it is at 400k. I’m not a Chevrolet guy but this is certainly a statement.
just seen your videos for first time and dude you make it look easy lol so cool man im about to check out what others you have on here..so glad i found ya bro! god bless man
Congrats! Hell of a job getting it back up and running. That was a job. I'm jealous. I want to do injectors on mine but too expensive to have a shop install them and that's one of the few things I will not attempt.
The only thing I know is the fire extinguisher it’s a Amerx ABC dry chem 6 lb size that how much chem is in it and it weighs about 9 lbs 1980s Most fire extinguishers are 5 lbs or 10 lbs and on up. If I was you I would have a Co 2 or halon clean agent fire extinguisher so it would not leave a powder mess every where. I have service fire extinguishers and etc for over 20 years in California San Diego Big engine cool stuff
Surprised that after 400K miles that the transfer case chain isn't something that would be replaced. It looks stout but no issues with stretch or fatigue over time?
Dude I need help. I want to do a dpf and egr delete on my Volkswagen 2.0 but I don't know if I should invest in parts yet not knowing if my county (weld county) I live in fort Lipton will pass emissions on the car if I do a full delete. Not sure what to do thanks bro
What’s your opinion on screw in injector cups for an LB7 ? Does it fix more or less the injector issses or no matter what you’ll end up getting like 80-100k out of injectors and that’s just it ? With the normal sleeves what do you prefer for securing them in on the head I know there’s also a debate of what type of loctite to use as well.
You do a very good job, do not pay attention to those as***les they do not know anything except whining. They are rude because they are good for nothing. Very interesting video.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE REMAN PS BOXES OR PUMPS! My Dad’s silverado had the original pump and box for 360K miles with no issues only replaced out of fear of it going out. From 3 different stores the truck went through 5-4 boxes and 4-3 pumps over about a year and a half. The first had the threads all messed up, the second did what yours is doing, the third would randomly stop working then start again (was terrifying to drive because you didn’t know what it was going to be) and the others had more play than the 360K box. Pumps randomly quit building pressure or started leaking. I would advise getting a good used GM original part or a new not remaned one from a reputable supplier. Best of luck
Trevor McNabb Trevor they are not that hard to reseal the original pump or box. If you have ford or Gm they are not that bad too rebuild . But you are right remans are junk .
At the time all that happened my Dad and I were not ambitious enough to try and fix one but from here on out that will be what I try first. A year ago I got a used box from a 76 c10 from a wrecking yard for my 68 gmc and the box was like new and doesn’t leak at all. Pitiful when reman parts are somehow worse than old junkyard parts. I will definitely try a rebuild as you said before another remaned one.
how long until you noticed the re manufactured gearbox was leaking? i just bought a re manufactured one and i dont wanna pay to have it installed if it just leaks lol. Also what should I look for to make sure it wont leak?
Awesome video I have an 05 that needs all this stuff if I do it my self how much u think in parts. Head gaskets trans rebuild. Was gonna be my winter project.
I did my lly headstuds myself, spent around 3k but I got a bunch of other shit I wanted. Trans was done by PPE at their facility and was 4,700 for trans plus install.
Another great video! excellent workmanship and a get it done "Well" attitude! Glad your truck is up and running and nearly 100% complete! (if that's possible :) ) Liked !! Subbed !!
I'm digging the vid although I don't even own a truck lol. However, if it is your truck, don't skimp on parts man. Specially drive train parts but that is mho.
No it won’t it might pull on it a little bit but it won’t suck it down guys use cardboard everyday on runaway engines if you would use a piece of metal it would work the air would suck right around were the cardboard actually seals it from where it gets pulled in just a little bit
wouldn’t it make it easier if you put the camera on the try pod well opening up your new try pod lmao 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 lmao 🤣!!!!!! you should name your truck Mr.D... lov you’re videos bro
Will watch later. Hurry up and come to the shop
We are on our way! lol
Good job man! Keep up the good content overall great channel!!

Red Head Steering in Seattle makes an awesome rebuilt steering box. I've used them before without any issues. Awesome build.

Really enjoyed the vids so far. Screw the thumb's downers, they all drive 6.4 Fords and are still mad as hell!
Redhead steering pump is a life changer
Just found your channel. I like your content man, nice to see someone who actually knows what tf they're doing.
Nice to see someone use the right amount of rtv....

Sounds like a beast! Gotta love a dirty diesel
Very Cool Video(s)! Ole Butch is gonna be/is NASTY!!! Thanks for posting, Sir.

Nice work, can't wait to see your total dmax build

Big engine cool stuff
Put Ol Butch on Brent's dyno.
Definitely not a slouch pulls good. That’s the lowest setting that’s pretty nuts! Hope it holds together with no major issues for a long time for you.
It is so cool to watch this. I wish I knew how to do that type of work.
good job on the LB7 rebuild. love my duramax
Have you thought about making your 5 speed into a 6 speed with just a valve body and trans tune? Tap shift on the shifter stalk is also cool upgrade.
He's got a tap shift on the shifter stalk
Duramax is JDM bby ! Oh yeah, Isuzu power !
0:48 ...he got us.
Hell yea ready to see this thing make some power looks good awesome job
Ol butch the dirty derv sounds so good 👌. I want one
Surprised that after 400K miles that the transfer case chain isn't something that would be replaced. It looks stout but no issues with stretch or fatigue over time?
Love watching this build 🙌🏻👍🏻
For as young as you are, you know a shit about diesels. Very impressive.

Call redhead steering gears. Best in the industry.
Great stuff, you have earned a sub.
Yea it runs great!!!! Nice work it sounds good!!!!!!
Just found your channel. Great stuff!
How was the S369? I'm debating a fixed geometry turbo for my LBZ.
150% are huge for a stock bottom. We made 810 on 65% before it threw the lml rods
Haha I would have stuck with my 45%s but it worked well someone wanted my 45s and I planned on 150s for the new engine so oh well 😂
SketchyDA ur truck aint got enough dirtymax stickers and soot life crap or isnt huge on 35s. Your prolly not a real truck vlogger
Trk looks an sounds good I assume thats a LB7?🤔
Enjoyed your video,ya make it look easy..
Can i get that head on the bench behind u? Lol. Nice work buddy
Great series!
it sucks that you have to do everything by yourself don't it. i know the feeling you are not alone.

Hi SKETCHYDA what sealants did you use on the GM TRANSFER CASE?
Not even 2 mins in. I'll show you a 62" tripod, and who's heather?
Mom
She's a ripper!!
If it runs, you better catch it.
Hey, serious question.. How much is your registration for your Dmax for one year?
Fck the torque available in that thing aka butch is amazing!!!
Keep up on the videos

I have 316,000 and pulling strong!. Hell I just changed the original starter after it went bad on Sunday!
