Wow that sucks. Scrap it and get a different head, a spacer doesn't sound like a good fix. Sounds like an expensive issue to run into for the customer :( Interesting video 👍
You should change the mahine shop ! ! Immediately ! ! ! A good shop, would have checked the head before cut it and just in case the head would have been too warped, they should have bolt it on to a big flat iron (I don't remember the name) and put it in the oven for several hours to straighten it up. Then...machine it ! About the valve seats and valves, they should have checked them first too, before machining the whole head. That would have been the right way and you would have save time and the head.
Hello. Sorry for the dumb question but perhaps someone can answer it for me. I know that the head is aluminum. What about the rest of the components? Is it safe to put water on it?
Whos to blame? Because the head should have been measure on both sides and see if it still in the range. If it isn't in the range then you need a head gasket to compasate for the missing material, if not you compression ratio will be too high or as happen here, mechanical damage.

More please. Also, It would be interesting to see follow up vids to find out what direction the customer went to fix an issue. Cheers.
Great vid. Very clear explanation of cause and effect and how to diagnose the leak.
I like the short format.
Hello, have you seen timing issues after having the cylinder head machined, on a mk7 GTI??
