I just can't stop myself from collecting these things. They are very fun to collect & play with. I mainly play Flash games here. Using my 2007 HP Compaq NC4400
I dont know why people think that anything that we do today requires a recent computer. Tasks like editing documents, browsing, calling didn't get that much more demanding. In fact I am able to edit videos on a 14 year old laptop although admittedly it was very slow and currently my gaming pc is a 10 years old system and demanding games like Microsoft flight simulator are really enjoyable.
I had the most barebones Walmart edition of this laptop with a Celeron and 2GB of RAM and 160GB storage and no webcam. Upgraded it to 4GB of RAM and a Core 2 Duo and added a webcam + webcam screen bezel long after I had already replaced it with a newer laptop. It's still pretty capable today. I also still daily drive Windows 7 on my main laptop and no malware.
I own one of these and many other systems from the 2006-2014 era. There was far worse in 2009. We were in between DDR generations at the time so it wasn’t uncommon at all to still see DDR2 machines being sold even well into 2010. You can upgrade these to a T9900 CPU and they won’t run slow then. Actually the CPU upgrade on this model is super easy.
Recently found, there was a security vulnerability for every Windows version, that if you even connect to the internet, just from your Wifi card, you can get hacked. The security vulnerability can be bypassed by using ethernet, or updating to the latest update by Microsoft. Windows 7 and 8.1 recently ended support last year, so they can't be updated to the new security update.
Good video but Windows 10 is much better for this PC than 11. I have an HP Folio 13 from 2012 and it was still pretty fast. It has a 2nd Gen i5, 4 GB of DDR3 RAM (can be upgraded to 8 GB but I still kept it's original 4 GB), a 128 GB SSD (original from 2012 since it's an ultrabook). This laptop is sadly broken now because the fan failed, then the screen and then the power button connector. It outperformed my very cheap ASUS Vivobook E210 MA from 2022 which has a modern Pentium (slightly better than the old 2nd gen i5 on my HP Folio 13), 4 GB of soldered RAM and 128 GB of soldered eMMC. It had Win 11 preinstalled and it's garbage: The CPU spikes to 100% with only the task manager open. It was so slow that I got mad and broke the screen. Then I got another laptop which is an HP 14s with 12th gen i3 and 8 GB of upgradable RAM. The specs are OK for Win 11 but the build quality is kinda trash. I bet it would have been OK if it was 10 instead of 11. But I think this Inspiron can work somewhat well with 10 and a SSD. RAM upgrade is probably not necessary for 10 as 10 needs 1 GB RAM for 32-bit and 2 GB for 64-bit. Same thing for Windows 7.
I have old laptops that I generally use on the go, they are also good to focus on what you need to get done
That display looks really amazing for a 2009 laptop tho

my main pc is 12 years old and it's still very snappy!
Old thinkpads will always smash computers like this spec wise

My previous Samsung phone had 4 gig of ram and that worked fine. A light computer user could still use that laptop.
Windows 7🐐 Windows 11 🤡
Interesting observation, but planned obsolescence from tech giants is already at play😅
Tiny11 was developed for older pc's in mind!
The Freaking SSD Upgrade is WORTH IT LOL
btw U can still use windows 7 if U have an antivirus
