Ken Fisher Provides His 2022 Stock Market Forecast

- Fisher Investments’ founder, Executive Chairman and Co-Chief Investment Officer Ken Fisher discusses why 2022 may be a strong year for stocks despite a myriad of investor concerns. Ken believes markets will start 2022 rocky and slow, only to accelerate as the year goes on. Ken explains that the second year of a US president’s term usually begins in a slog, as investor anxiety about midterm elections drives short-term market volatility.
However, in the latter half of the year, Ken anticipates a pre-priced outcome of political gridlock. Markets love gridlock because it lowers legislative risk and investor uncertainty, which is bullish for stocks. Even with an apprehensive start to the first half of the year, Ken expects a strong fourth quarter to deliver good returns for the year. While few investors believe 2022 will be a big year for stocks, Ken says markets tend to do what few expect, and those who let early year volatility keep them out of stocks may be left behind.

Mr. Fisher, Thank you so much !!
Thank you so much for your words of wisdom and your calm helicopter view on the events of the stock markets. That's absolutely unique.
Thank you for sharing your insight!

Thanks for sharing your insight! 👍
I'm always watching. Thank you for the good video.
thank you, ken!
Thank you Mr Fisher again
Thanks for your great view about 2022
I bought three of your books and now I am more calm when market down knowing the historical Data of the stock market.
My favorite is " The only 3 questions that count"
So either up or down, great advice.
Just keep buying. everythings on 50%/60% discount at this point
Very good analysis...I agree.
Not sure when this was recorded but it sure seems to be out of step with what's happening in the markets currently. I have a great deal of respect for Mr Fisher's viewpoints, but I'll be surprised if we're up or down slightly in the first half, although either of those options sounds really good right now.
Thanks Ken. It's so helpful to hear your views and perspectives and helps bring the day to day out of focus.
A big thanks sent from Austria,
Wow. Yes thanks Ken for your insight. I completely forgot about :"gridlock" and how the markets do enjoy the calm it creates in Washington. And if this Russian and Ukraine war can be over by end of the year (maybe end of summer?) markets will rally and maybe we can get a hand on this inflation caused by the uncertainty over there how this war is going to end. (probably not good either way).
Calming view, how will the Feds actions effect your forecast?
감사합니다. (= thank you)
100% correct Ken.
My question is...how many managers have this fact in their minds in early 2022..?
Everybody seems pretty negative that makes me bullish!
I like your books!
So what to do now ?
Buy or sell ??
Confirmation that nobody knows how the market will perform. The first half has not been "sloggy" yet positive.
Lol yup at 4:55 mark Ken says first half to be sloggy but not down but pretty sloggy.
Thru 6/30/22 the S&P 500 was -21.25% and the bond aggregate was -10.23%. Even if you got to plus a bit in summer ending 7/31/22 S&P 500 -13.91% or bond aggregate -8.07%.
So was he right or not
Sapa nice one
Yes I do
Wow, thats a completly different view. And maybe right! :)
Is the market sloggy or down a lot?
👍
This is a great outlook: negative half the time and when they are not negative they tend to be up pretty big; if it is not up big it will be down?!? 🤨
Sort of like JP Morgan's advice, markets will fluctuate.
Does anyone watching this have investments with Fisher by chance? Just want to know from a person's perspective are you happy with their investment philosophy.
His predictions are very good. Watch older videos and you will see.
I am 99.9% in the market. I am staying, but it is painful.
I understand why the focus is on the USA markets as they dominate global markets. But I think this commentary misses, or was prepared a while ago, the recent turmoil in the US stock markets. NASDAQ has fallen from c15,500 to 13,500 over the past couple of weeks. In anyone’s view such a fall is not normal but a correction in the market. What’s the forecast regarding when markets may return to where they were at the start of this calendar year?
Is that your tie?
i did not understand really, anyone can summarise in 2 or 3 sentences pls?
The final months of the second year of a presidency will provide modest gains in your portfolio. The third year of a presidency will be better. That’s what he’s saying.
What do you think about the Great Reset that is supposed to happen in 2022?
Mr. Fisher i wonder if you can comment on the rise of socialism in America and how can this impact stocks.
Art Cashion believes Inflation will wane that could push markets higher? Who was it that said cash is trash, he's been right overall so far.
