"Szent királyunk, boldog Károly" is a Hungarian hymn devoted to Blessed King Charles IV of Hungary. The hymn uses the melody of the old Austro-Hungarian Kaiserhymne, and its lyrics honour Blessed King Charles, the last king of Hungary. The lyrics are attributed to Bálint Havassy.

L'hymne utilise la mélodie du vieille Kaiserhymne austro-hongrois, et les paroles honorent le roi Charles IV d'Hongrie, le dernier roi hongrois. Les paroles sont attribuées à Bálint Havassy.
MAGYAR: A "Szent királyunk, boldog Károly" egy magyar himnusz, amelyet Boldog IV. Károly magyar királynak szenteltek. A himnusz a régi osztrák-magyar Kaiserhymne dallamát használja, szövege Boldog Károly király, Magyarország utolsó királya előtt tiszteleg. A szöveget Havassy Bálint írta.
Context: 100 years ago today marks the death of Blessed Charles (Karl/Károly) of Austria-Hungary. Blessed Charles served as the last Emperor of Austria and the last King of Hungary from 1916 to 1918. Blessed Charles was a great Catholic Monarch, and a devoted family man, who during the troubled times in which he reigned, tried to promote peace. He died in exile in 1922, shortly after his unsuccessful attempts to reclaim the Hungarian throne. May Blessed Charles rest in peace, and may God restore the Habsburg thrones.

Karel I. is one of my favourite Czech (Bohemian) king, he spoke fluently Czech and wanted to live in exile in Czechoslovakia, he was brave and merciful.

Besides being one of the best versions of the Kaiserhymne, it is a very moving tribute to Blessed Charles, who as King and Emperor during the Great War was one of the greatest advocates for Peace. Truly a Peacemaker. A how much we need Peacemakers in this times. May Hungary, which is to choose a path this Sunday, follow one of Peace and Dignity, of Democratic renewal, and stand firmly against aggressors of our European brotherhood.
In the centennial of the passing of Blessed Charles I feel honored, as a Portuguese, that he lived his last days among the Earth in my country, where his resting place still lies.

Karl even agreed that Elsass-Lothringen should be given to France if that was the cost of peace. Such a shame that the French were arrogant and revealed the peace talks, forcing Karl to enter an even closer bond with Germany.

Very nice language mutation of OUR former national hymn. Best regards to our former brothers in Austria-Hungary monarchy. I sometimes dreamt about restoration of Habsburg monarchy in today´s Europe. We had something in common , we had been together for 400 years. Had the same kings and queens , there were some dissimilarities in the past, but after all , I am glad that our grand-fathers were under the same banner.

Well, it's because after the shattering of our monarchy, Germany adopted Haydn's music of the "Kaiserlied" for their new anthem as the "Heil dir im Siegerkranz" used the melody of the British anthem.

Kaiser Karl 1st of the Austro-Hungarian Empire the only man in the Central Powers who wanted to bring peace to the Allies to end the war but was forced to continue fighting because of Kaiser Wilhelm 2ad of the German Empire who threatened Karl with Invasion
Blessed be Emperor Charles he should have returned and restored peace and honor in both Austria and Hungary.
That would have been the death of Hungary, had he returned.

A Magyar Királyság történelme egy szent uralkodóval kezdődött, és egy szent uralkodóval ért véget. Mondhatjátok, hogy ez véletlen egybeesés (és talán igazatok is van), de akaratlanul is felmerülhet bennünk az a gondolat, hogy a Magyar Királyság Szent Istvánnal kezdődött, Boldog Károllyal végződött (aki szintén a szenté avatásra vár). A Magyar Királyság, még ha újra is alakítjuk, az már nem lesz olyan mint a háború előtti, még akkor sem, ha Habsburgokat hívunk meg a magyar trónra.
Ha Ferenc pápa helyében lennék, én mindent megtennék azért, hogy rövidre zárjam IV. Károly szenté avatását, főleg ezekben a háborús időkben. Egy ilyen esemény biztos elgondolkoztatná a népeket és azok vezetőit, hogy biztos jó ötlet-e ismét beletaszítani a világot a háború poklába. IV. Károly élete, mártíromsága tanulságul szolgálhatna a jelen vezetőinek, akik azt gondolják, hogy a hadseregük elég erős és hatalmas ahhoz, hogy győzedelmeskedjen egy világháborúba.
