Most change this wipe have been really awesome. But as a casual player ( 2-3 hours a day ), i feel to some degree the gap between myself and the people who don't work has gotten bigger. I stopped playing a few days ago at like level 20 or so. I understand this is a me problem, but the issue still remains that im playing a quest simulator for months when I haven't enjoyed "playing the game" since 2017/18/19.
Really agree with ammo changes. You’re right about incentivizing looting. I think that is a really good thing. Speaking of looting, I think they have needed to buff loot on interchange and reserve for a long time. Compared to streets, customs, and woods, those maps have booboo
They have decent loot but not nearly as much as Streets, and it feels like they are more specialized. I got to Interchange for crafting/hideout items and food. I go to Reserve for ammo and weapon stuff. There is always things to loot, you just gotta search it out.
@@luked4043, reserve has 8000 filing cabinets. Many, many weapons crates, raider loot. Reserve is my go to map for scav loot runs. If you want food and meds go woods. If you want roubles go streets. If you want guns, ammo, or keys go reserve. I stay away from interchange so I couldn’t tell you how the loot is this wipe.
I will yet again bring up the indisputably best bind to use for vaulting: Set it to CTRL. Not CTRL + something, just the control key. As long as you don't have ctrl+w bound to something, you can now vault over things while running up to them or while simply standing next to them by tapping control. If you bind "swap shoulder" to CTRL+RMB, you suddenly have all your movement related binds grouped together, and it makes vaulting/shoulder swapping incredibly seamless.
I really love the ammo changes, it made the game play different and makes me consider ammo when I am looting and holy shit, I did not know bout the mag presets I am the dude who puts 3 rounds of tracers about half way through a mag to let me know I am at the halfway point and this preset will do a hell of a lot for me, thank you.
I think every resort enjoyer felt the exact same way about the construction lights. Ive seldom felt such happiness in a moment as I did when I shot the lights out.
I love the ammo packing! Have always 8 tracer rounds at the end of the mag so i get a visual that im runing out of ammo in a fire fight. and having a preset for that makes my life soo much better.
I love everything in this new wipe. Recoil was amazing. The ammo changes are great coming from a player who usually taps out at lvl 30-35. Yeah chads can get high pen ammo and still destroy you but the vast majority of players are running low tier ammo. This paired with the amor changes make gunfights more engaging instead of 3-5 rounds and it’s over
This isn't an 8 minute video hating on bsg and all their mistakes... but it is a very helpful and informative video with some tips, predictions for what the changes could do, and overall how much the change effects the game. Love the content! Definitely my favorite Tarkov youtuber
I managed to find in raid around 85 of the best 9x19 rounds, which I usually would never even bother to craft because of how much they cost and the fact that I would simply rather craft any AR round. But finding them in raid before level 20 was actually really fun and gave me more weapon options than I realised I had. great change.
You also don't need the best possible ammo with most 9 mil smg's considering how controllable almost all of them are now, just spray the top of the torso and you're golden, even m882 feels good to use tbh, just don't aim purely center mass
The only problem I have seen with vaulting is trying to vault a low wall with a ramp leading down the other side of the wall. ie, many windows on reserve. Some of these windows can still be vaulted through by aiming at the corner of the window where there is no ramp. But some windows are unable to be vaulted through currently.
The run into interchange is sooooo much better with vaulting because even though you could "run over" them before, it was not only immersion breaking, but there was a pause and running in place that took stamina. So many areas this feels smooth. D-2 flying through to take on the extract campers is much more dynamic on reserve too. Clunky in spots sure, but by and large a GREAT addition. The armor on the other hand... that's been a bit irritating lol
Recoil ammo changes and armor hit boxes. I love the change in game play and forcing players to shoot and move instead of just swinging one another or sprinting a door because your level 6 dinner plate on your chest protects you in a 360 force field. Seems like it's a little bugged, but all in all, 😊fire fights have become harder yet easier and more intense.
For the ammo presets I've more or less only used the loop feature, it lets you alternate rounds through the whole mag. I'm not sure how good that is to do if the ammo you're mixing is vastly different (ie AP and Flesh damage ammo) but if the rounds are roughly equivalent it should let you save some of your rarer rounds I believe.
Thanks for the vaulting keybind tip Jesse! I have it on hotkey but still spacebar and I've been getting annoyed when I try to vault something, and instead, I make a ton of noise jumping cus I wasn't in the right spot to vault.
The vaulting is hands down my favorite. I'm not a huge tarkov player so I wasn't set in stone with mechanics, and vaulting just flowed right into my playing without a second thought. I also really like the snow, for me it makes fights feel less like I got jumped and couldn't find them. Now it feels like everyone moving around doesn't give the person with better ears a massive advantage. You can see way better in it
I really love all the features you're pointing out in this video. The ammo changes are a good start to make all these useless rounds in the game usable, Painkiller effect is at least better than before, Vaulting is a blast - didn't expect it to be that good in the first iteration, Shoreline is much more enjoyable (at least for a casual like me) and ammo packing is definitly well done even thought I haven't jused it that much. And the snow - man I love it. After not playing last wipe, the game is now feeling so much better! And thank you for this nice video!
I’ve not played Tarkov since the birth of my son, so nearly 2 years now, coming back this wipe man the game feels SO much better than memory. Enemies actually die when I shoot them, I’ve not been getting one tapped by scavs from 100m away, performance feels better, and the recoil change is massive, finally full auto weapons feel good and fights feel so much more hectic. Loving the game right now. In a way it feels easier, but still extremely unforgiving.
My favourite thing about the ammo changes is that it can add benefits to key rooms and so on, that previously didn't exist, if ammo can be found in them.
I love the ammo spawning in raid over traders (the extent of which I hope means all the super good ammo is find in raid or craft), the snow weather was done beautifully! It truly makes each map feel brand new to Play. It's a bit rough with the armor changes it feels scavs you have to take serious regardless of loadout but thats still a plus.
Good ammo being hard to get, as in - found in raid or really long crafts, just makes armor more valuable. I used to not run with any helmets and it overall didn't have much of an impact in the past, but now those are much more useful.
I haven’t had this much fun with tarkov in years. It seems like casuals can enjoy the game more without punishing those who no life the game at the same time
Glad they been playing with access to meta tier stuff from traders. Would like to see the dystopian world show, with more old surplus gear being used and meta gear is rare but something you can find in small quantities in normal play.
my favorite feature is the recoil. It is so much better than I expected. I found that my gear fear is less because of it, because I actually feel like I stand a decent chance. Combine that with the armor and ammo changes.
This honestly has made the gunfights better, experience and overall gameplay more fun than it has been in quite some time. The rounds that used to be bad, now have a place in Tarkov because of the armor system now too, it’s really nice. This IS the best wipe in about 3 wipes.
In the same vein as your comment about seasons, I would like to see them adjust the daylight hours according to the longitude and latitude of Tarkov - specifically, longer daylight hours in the summer and longer night hours in the winter, with gradual changes in the spring
The snow is amazing...we're so used to games that we don't realize the load of work behind it. The result is stunning for the eye and the ear...I'm not one to bluntly criticize for clickbait but there is some philosophical value to this game, one of the most demanding FPS ever...you sure die a lot, but the trip is worth the pain. As always, great video Jesse !
i dont. it fucks the low players... try playing arena now. where u have a kedr with flesh ammo 9x18 vs giga chad mcfucker with tier 6 armour and a m4 with high armour pen bullets and 2x 100 mags.
BSG needs to finally add the feature where we no longer need to add food and drinks on us to be able to eat or drink. Should just have an option to take or just eat or drink right where we see it. I feel this should have been something added a long time ago.
I've always found so many high tier rounds on streets, got like 200 rounds of m856a1 on streets and ran that for a couple raids and i was low level at the start of this wipe
Jesse unless I'm mistaken that's not how the ammo loading works, in a 60 it would load 15 ps at the bottom, 15 bp at the top and them the middle would be 1 ps, 1bp, 1ps, 1bp. If what you intended is by putting bp x15 and then ps x 15 (not certain on order) that would create a 30/30 in a 60rd
Fun fact, you don't even have to put in a quantity the loop will fill (Or loop) when it hits the bottom of it's chain, Filling the rest of the mag. You don't need to calculate your mag quantity at all this way, just your space between tracers and effect projectiles.
i love the mag presets so much ive always made sure the bottom of my mags is tracers and now i dont have to spend half of my stash time setting up my mags
Dunno about Shoreline update. While they do add a lot of cover, at the same time it doesn't really solve map issues - spawns are still very open to each other (and snow with lack of vegetation add a whole new level of issues) and you now have so many more places to hide and camp. Like some areas are even more of a death trap - area between construction on pier and Weather Station. Between Weather Station and Radio Towers. Areas overlooking Gas Station and Hydro. The whole friggin area near farm (Drone is the open field with zero cover, ffs!). Yeah, you can hide in terrain, but person camping you also can hide very well and easily track and predict your movements. not to mention that you don't even need to sit and camp people from the distance - there are so many hiding spot you can jump on unsuspecting PMC while being covered from all sides.
As a Shoreline main, I'm so excited to play the expansion. I have yet to jump into the new wipe because I've been busy with work and personal skill development, but I'm so excited!
As a shoreline main, I hate it. One of my biggest complaints are still here and even worse with the added spawns. I spawned on the south east side and immediately after walking 50m got shot from my left, right, oh and also right in front of me at weather. Other wise yes there are some good changes but not nearly enough to warrant this map rework.
Ok on the ammo thing, they take away the “problem child” rounds like 855A1 and 7.62x39 BP, but they give us PS12B, 54R BT, 45ACP AP, M62, CBJ, 6.8x51 Hybrid, SS190, and AP-M is on the flea, and none of those are locked behind quests by the way those are just max traders.
This update seems to be the start of Tarkov shifting from more of an RPG to an actual survival game that allows the more casual players to actually enjoy playing the game and have a fighting chance.
personally i love it, i love the new changes and the direction it's going also if anyone is at lvl15 and having money issues - attachments, attachments and attachments, a lot of attachments are sold for crazy amounts
The biggest shoreline update is that green flare by the pier to let you know if you can take it or not. I don't know if that was there last night but absolutely necessary
I had no idea the mag packing system was even added; I'm gonna be playing around with this system for a while later 😂 Never thought I'd be loading mags with such a nice little UI
m80 is locked behind an easy task and is actually a trader level lower, lvl three peacekeeper. We also have 762 pp ammo, so all I’m hearing is 762 nato + 762 aks are gonna be used all wipe
I have Barley played this wipe. But the Looting overall seems far more rewarding. Also, the amount of high-performance slugs I have already obtained is ludicrous. Any shotgun at that point is smacking.
Thank you for this excellent information. I hope next time you were able to write the names of the bullets when I presented them. I am new to the game and I cannot memorize the names well.
A pretty huge surprise change you forgot to mention is the interchange lighting updates. Interchange is SO much better now. Like the difference is genuinely insane
People aren't talking about it enough but as a tie between the ammo scarcity and the armor changes, the real big change is that almost all ammo is valuable to some degree because of the armor zones. Like you don't need to use just AP ammo to kill most people, you could have mid tier ammo and kill "geared" people. On top of it, personally for me the mag presets you can create have me making mag loadouts that are way more effective than you might think. You save your good ammo by not having a whole mag of it, but you also get to sprinkle in some high damage ammo incase what you are shooting at isn't wearing full class 4(which is most people in the game) cause your ammo just goes through their class 2 soft armors. Like this is the patch where ammo selection matters more in not in the sense that you can only use the "best" but rather the best of what situations you are going to put yourself in.
Dare I say it might be the snow? It just makes the game play different. Bush camping is not a thing, and silent creeping isn’t silent in the snow. The armor system is also kinda another hidden change in that we knew we were getting hitboxes and plates but the soft armor and plate combos have added more than what we originally thought
The ammo changes are great imo. Tarkovs biggest issue for so many years has been that basically once you unlock the flea market, the majority of the gameplay becomes pointless. The whole game turns into just grinding for money so that you can buy all of your favourite gear. But restricting some of that stuff to being found in raid actually keeps you actively playing and searching for things. Looting for what you need and using only what you have at the time rather than just being able to buy literally anything you want. This extends the "early wipe" feeling so much. And to be honest, they should really be doing this with more things like meta attachments and meta optics, LPVOs for example. Literally every Tarkov player of all time just spam buys LPVOs and uses nothing else. Go into any EFT stream and you can almost guarantee that they are running a VUDU or Razor...it eliminates SO much of the variety within the game when you can simply buy this amazing gear for every raid rather than ever having to just "use this ACOG because its all I found recently"
What is your favorite feature of the new wipe so far?

Your “adrenaline” idea makes so much sense. Hopes this makes its way into the game someday. The latest wipe/update has been great to see.
6:56 - nice touch there. vaulting and recoil are my 2 favorite changes this wipe
It's nice dying to skill issue instead of because who can put more money on mods to reduce recoil
You can see way better in it
9:10 makes my camping spots that needed higher level strength a dream come true KEKW
The snow is something that I haven't realized that I wanted until I got it XD It's so good
The snow was my favorite surprise!!!
i think it could be a bit less on the urban maps, but i love the snowy woods. makes adressing threats way easier from a distance
The sharpening effect was really nice 🥺
Good ammo being hard to get, as in - found in raid or really long crafts, just makes armor more valuable. I used to not run with any helmets and it overall didn't have much of an impact in the past, but now those are much more useful.
I haven’t had this much fun with tarkov in years. It seems like casuals can enjoy the game more without punishing those who no life the game at the same time
Have been using continuous shift for vault release shift for toggle sprint, works fantastic
Glad they been playing with access to meta tier stuff from traders. Would like to see the dystopian world show, with more old surplus gear being used and meta gear is rare but something you can find in small quantities in normal play.
The barbwire fence behind the shooting range is a great place to level your Vitality if you need to grind it.
my favorite feature is the recoil. It is so much better than I expected. I found that my gear fear is less because of it, because I actually feel like I stand a decent chance. Combine that with the armor and ammo changes.
I love finding more ammo boxes especially since it lets you prioritize bringing your favorite ammo out of raid
This honestly has made the gunfights better, experience and overall gameplay more fun than it has been in quite some time.
The rounds that used to be bad, now have a place in Tarkov because of the armor system now too, it’s really nice.
This IS the best wipe in about 3 wipes.
Really enjoy the ammo changes i always wondered what the point of low end ammo was other than making the loot pool more diluted now it has a purpous
I did not know about magazine loading! Thanks!
great video, looks like the game is coming together really well!
The shoreline rework is a masterpiece and a perfect example for extreme and good change.
I love the combination of the ammo and armor changes.
i dont. it fucks the low players... try playing arena now. where u have a kedr with flesh ammo 9x18
vs giga chad mcfucker with tier 6 armour and a m4 with high armour pen bullets and 2x 100 mags.
Ammo packing is soo helpful when loading the 100 belt for the rpd with every second round tracer
You don't need to calculate your mag quantity at all this way, just your space between tracers and effect projectiles.
i put vaulting on shift continuous. seems to work well for those that use toggle sprint
i love the mag presets so much
ive always made sure the bottom of my mags is tracers and now i dont have to spend half of my stash time setting up my mags
After 10 raids in shoreline, it's still the same old boreline it was, just with a brand new sticker on it
@@ruska9773 People will always find a reason to complain lol
same situation for me but im kinda busy for 5 more months so ill play next wipe
What's the other new location? I have only seen the new part by road to customs.@@ruska9773
Fucking love this wipe with the new recoil, new armor system, more lethality........this is what eft always dreamt to be..........
I never thought I'd be running RRLP in my M4 but here I am
Easily the best wipe so far, thanks for explaining the ammo presets!
Finally a creator who isn't complaining! Best wipe of all time.
This update seems to be the start of Tarkov shifting from more of an RPG to an actual survival game that allows the more casual players to actually enjoy playing the game and have a fighting chance.
These vids are really helpful especially when my buddies are super new and need some guidance and I’m just dumb and need help, thank you!!!
personally i love it, i love the new changes and the direction it's going
also if anyone is at lvl15 and having money issues - attachments, attachments and attachments, a lot of attachments are sold for crazy amounts
Great breakdown of the ammo chanegs 😅
The biggest shoreline update is that green flare by the pier to let you know if you can take it or not. I don't know if that was there last night but absolutely necessary
my fav is vaulting and definetly the new recoil system :D
4.5k hours in this game; shooting out the lights in shoreline was the best part of those hours played.
I had no idea the mag packing system was even added; I'm gonna be playing around with this system for a while later 😂
Never thought I'd be loading mags with such a nice little UI
m80 is locked behind an easy task and is actually a trader level lower, lvl three peacekeeper. We also have 762 pp ammo, so all I’m hearing is 762 nato + 762 aks are gonna be used all wipe
This ammo change has been one of the best things I'm along time
I have Barley played this wipe. But the Looting overall seems far more rewarding. Also, the amount of high-performance slugs I have already obtained is ludicrous. Any shotgun at that point is smacking.
7:26 OFF COURSE you will jump in that room , but did you know you can vault throught the celling fom inside the room?
They hype when you shot out the construction light in the resort was real lmaoo
Thank you for this excellent information. I hope next time you were able to write the names of the bullets when I presented them. I am new to the game and I cannot memorize the names well.
I like the ammo chsnge tbe best. Im doing a certain tasklinr to be able to craft my end game ammo. A nice loop
A pretty huge surprise change you forgot to mention is the interchange lighting updates. Interchange is SO much better now. Like the difference is genuinely insane
This whole wipe is a massive W
side note: I have found chad ammo in weapon boxes all wipe lol... ive found hundreds of rounds of ap 6.3, 7.62 bp, m855A1, etc is just boxes lol
I'm going to through you a like and sub for the fact that you highlighted Gigabeef's video.
Best wipe in a long time. Keep up the great videos Jesse, informative as always!
Not being stuck in the middle of the road on interchange on my way to railway dies feel nice
The ammo changes are golden, PS 5 45 feels gooood now
Dare I say it might be the snow? It just makes the game play different. Bush camping is not a thing, and silent creeping isn’t silent in the snow.
The armor system is also kinda another hidden change in that we knew we were getting hitboxes and plates but the soft armor and plate combos have added more than what we originally thought
What are your thoughts on potentially adding footprints to the snow mechanic? Would that be good or bad in your opinion?
Vaulting/jumping sometimes feels worse now. There are areas where it's really bad trying to jump on something, very clunky.
Also 7.62x39 bp unlocks at level 45 after finishing punisher quest line you get a quest to kill 40 scavs with headshots and unlocks bp craft
I have yet to try the ammo preset thing, been used to filling them manually
