Here's an install video for the Givi SR357 rack on a 2015 FJR1300. It fits other years as well, but just check with GIVI to confirm if it's compatible with yours.

Thanks for sharing. Just bought an FJR 2002 and thinking about the Givi rack if I can find one cheap enough. This will help immensely.

The tail section of the rear subframes on these bikes cracks pretty easily, and it looks like a torsion fracture from what I have seen. I don't think the front two bolts on the rear deck are an issue, they are right over the subframe rise, but the 3rd bolt has more leverage for twisting because it is so far back and I think what causes the danger. I think the point of the shorter spacer is so you wont have any weight down on that rear most bolt, and they are using it for support by pulling it UP with the shorter spacer to keep the end of the tail up and supported by the SR357. Adding washers on top of the rear spacer to make it higher may very well be working against you here.

Does the Givi rack allow more weight to be carried in the trunk over the stock/OEM (17lbs) rack?

The Givi instruction sheet says max load 21lbs... so it’s about 25% increase

Hard to see where that would be any stronger than the stock piece, since it mounts the same way. Definitely an uglier mount than stock.

The givi rack itself is made of a much stronger material than the stock rock,. But people with both racks have reported cracked subframes from the way they’re both mounted and putting too much weight on the rear. Thanks for watching!
