I have just replaced the diesel fuel filter on my Fabia 1.6Td 105cv 2014 and with engine CR series. The metal filter (with no drain at the bottom) looks just like the one in the video and it was an incredibly easy task to do. However, priming it solely with the ignition key, as explained in the video, was not enough. I had to disconnect the fuel lines again and fill up the filter right up from the way in till it would come out from the way out so as to avoid any air left in. I have used a syringe used to fill in printer cartridges as this type of fuel filter is a sealed unit. I took virtually minutes and saved myself 120 pounds. I hope this will be beneficial to someone.

Quite easy to phisically replace the filter, although I had to purchase a specific plier to disengage the fuel hoses (the quick-disconnect of the hoses on my car was different from the ones shown in the video). I filled the new filter with fuel using a 10€ hand pump bought online. I tried priming using solely the ignition key as suggested in the video but it didn't seem to have any effect. I had to actually try and start the engine and on the third try, insisting for maybe a second, it started. I hope i didn't ruin anything by doing so. If you don't want to do the same i think it is necessary to get the software and run the pump to prime the filter, via diagnostic port.
The later models have to be bled by activating the fuel pump with a diagnosis computer. The way round this is to fill the fuel filter with diesel and the two lines
From what I understand, on post 2009 TDIs, you can't bleed the system using the ign switch as he tells you. You say fill the filter and the two lines. How did you fill the two lines? The car in question is a 2011 Polo TDI BlueMotion, CFWA engine (CR).
@@vlatkomafija I believe that works for the two pump fuel system provided the new filter is primed. If the system is a three pump system, the system has to be fully primed before the engine is started.

is it compulsory to change the Polo's diesel filter after 15000 km. which brand of the filter is. how much it cost n tell me also about coolent how to top up. with distilled water or recommend vw original coolent.
+Shubham Bishnoi usually fuel filter interval is 30000 km but wuality of fuel in india is not good so ve recomend it as 15000 km. Sofima/ufi filters are oem and best in budget. Mann filters are best but price is more. Ufi cost 900 rs For coolant use glysantine g30 with distilled water

you can use vcds or odis to prime the filter. just start the low pressure fuel pump for 30 sec. it will fill the fuel in filter

Definitely need VCDS on vag group. If air goes on high pressure pump will damage the fuel system because of metal that rub...🥂
