It’s really impressive that the first responders allowed him to grieve with the body of his loved one. It was tragic to watch him grabble with this trauma, but giving him this time with the body, if that’s what he wants, is respectful of his needs and grieving process. I want to commend the police and firefighters for doing so. His ability to come to grips with what just happened and how his life just changed in an instant, and whatever survivor guilt he might have, then process all of that while in shock and denial is aided if he can say goodbye to his loved one while holding her.

Sitting there obstructing traffic. Probably took life for granted. That's life when you raise them of drugs. Oblivious to danger. Shortened response time to injuries. Thinking people can stop on a dime. I did stop on a dime a while back. There was a teenager girl skateboarding into the roadway and it appeared like she was just accessing a vehicle. The kid was wearing darker colors and wasn't completely visible. I jammed the brakes as hard as possible. Car stopped right at the girl's shins. She was safe though. Hopefully she'll find a better place to skate.

40 year old Yvonne Parks passed away in the hit and run. The driver was speeding in a dark colored Toyota camry. Don't think they've caught them yet. Hope they check cameras and get the tag number. Apparently a guy named Joshua B also passed away in the same spot by a hit and run two years ago. 5 people have lost their life in hit and runs at that intersection. Stated people do 70 coming over a hill there. Heartbreaking

A neighbor of mine I really liked, was at a cross walk, she had the right of way at the light, in broad daylight. But the stupid driver didn't bother to wait, hit and killed her...and took off. Just a few months before that, I'd run into her handsome son at the gas station, and he'd given me a hug and caught me up on his family's plans for the fall. I was sick to hear about what happened to her! These drivers ARE crap.

One of the worse days of my life. She's 36 now and thriving. Things like this happen so fast..split second and your life is changed by tragedy. Damn, I feel so bad for this man. Hopefully, he will not succumb to the survivors guilt he will endure. Profoundly heartbreaking😢

Dude didn't even stop and smashed my bumper clean off. I got out right away and walked towards the car to ask if they were ok and swap info, some guy in the passenger seat hopped out, saw me coming (l'm 6'3, 250) and yelled "OH SHIT!!" before jumping back in the car, and then the idiots drove off with their front bumper sparking everywhere. The passenger was clearly drunk or cracked out, some stupid ass looking white boy, so the driver definitely was drunk as well. Drunk idiotic drivers come in all colors, shape and size.

This is so desperately sad 💔 I cannot begin to fathom the pain of seeing a loved one die so cruelly and abruptly, but I'm glad this poor man had the heart and soul to hold and cherish his partner for her last moments. I hope he, and her family and friends, find some peace from his loving actions. ❤

We lost my ex-husband, our 20 yr old daughter and my own Dad in three years time. All unexpectedly. It happens in the blink of an eye. Don't forget that when you are with the ones you love. My deepest sympathies to this man and I bet they will find the perpetrator!

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of the victim. This happened to my sister, she was killed by a drunk driver and her friend was seriously hurt as they crossed a street.
