To start our Christmas adventure the day before American thanksgiving, we’re flying from Dallas, Texas to Zurich, Switzerland where we’re taking trains to the cities of Basel, Colmar, Strasbourg, Frankfurt, and Cologne before coming back to Zurich and flying home in time for Christmas.

Same I think I found my destination for this christmass...
If you go to Frankfurt and stop there for a day or two - you should also visit Wertheim, Miltenberg and Heidelberg (which is easily reachable from Frankfurt with ICE). Virtual tours around all three are available on my channel.

@@AndrewandKait I have a feeling that the list of "Top XX Markets" actually lists the markets you should avoid ) Esslingen Medieval one for example was almost impossible to be entered - so overcrowded it was. The same as the Octoberfest - you should not go to Munich if you want to drink good beer )

Somehow I got to Cologne first but now Frankfort. Same comments as said for Cologne except to add this. Your expectations of Brats being better (and pretzels) because of you being in Germany - I remember thinking when I drank my first beer in Germany: I'm drinking a German beer in Germany, cool. I've had more than a few German beers at home in the U.S. but I liked the setting of being in Germany. I hope you get home safely and have a very Merry Christmas!!

Never been to Frankfurt market, but going to add it to my list. (I have done lots, but especially loved Cologne and Bremen markets pre-covid.) Were there any Covid protocols you had to take to get into Germany and/or the markets?
Hi Shelli! Happy to say, No COVID protocols. We took a train in so it might be slightly different for flying. As we know things can quickly change, but only thing Germany asked for was to wear a mask on trains going into Germany. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching 😊

We really liked Strasbourg! The cathedral was so beautiful and the markets were really great. We would say Cologne was our favorite, but they all have special things about them. In Frankfurt you should visit the Main Tower. Stand on the roof of a 200m skyscraper with a breathtaking view to downtown and over the whole city and skyline.

I was in Strasbourg last sunday with my dad. Suuuuper nice city!!
But the market wasn't so exciting. Allwasy the same stuff to buy and just four things in different tipes to eat. Crépes, waffles, bretzels and sadly looking sausages with Sauerkraut. An none of them interested uns in smelling an optic. We really was a bit disappointet. But the city you have to saw! And the dome! Wow!
On the way back home from Strasbourg, we live near Frankfurt am Main, we visited Baden Baden. A very very great oldysh and impressive city. And the Christmas Market lasts about 6 weeks. Very lots of different things to buy and so much different things to eat! As an german, thera are really great choices. And the sausages from the region, grilled on the open fire...
