Enjoyable as always Senan! I got out meself yesterday evening for an hour or so after work, caught a couple of lovely brownies on my small local river 👌
Those are great tips on setting up and casting a BFS reel. I've got the spinning version. Doubling the stated line rating You must have faith in the rod? which is reassuring to see! Bait casters were always a little daunting, but after watching this, I can see me getting a BFS version in the near future. Great vids 👍
The 0.3-3gram Teton is so strong, I’ve landed so many trout perch and even pike to 80cm on this little rod, it can definitely handle bigger also. I have a friend who got salmon on this also, it’s a little beast. 🙂
Lovely fishing Stanley went down to the local River caught a 10 pound brown trout and heard that the trout and salmon get to 15-20 pound down in fermoy barnan
I like how your baitcaster reel has a drag clicker on it, my Abu Garcia revolver beast X I used for pike fishing doesn't and I do miss the sound of the drag. Really nice touch to have one on the reel
Lovely video Senan. Are those lures best suited for rivers or can they be used on the lake? I got out for my first time this year. Fished from the shore at Lough Gowna in Co Cavan. Got my first trout in over 15/20 years. Probably a couple of pounds so he was decent enough. Threw him back as I don't eat fish. Caught him on the fiiish power tail which I saw you using here. Hoping to get out on a boat soon.
The 38mm size is ideal for small rivers. I use the 7-8 cm size on the Lough, casts a mile! Those fiiish powertail are very fun to use, the little tail drives them nuts!
Lovely trout, have you caught larger fish on that ultra light kit? Also, do you get into perch and wee pike whilst going for trout, as I did on the Shannon in Limerick last year? Many thanks
Why the hate? Make you feel good? The newer aldebaran comes with a clicker, also, I have the drag loose so I don’t pull the head off the trout, so yes there is need. Lose the attitude.

Good job man 😁🤝 it’s brilliant having an hour in the evening and going for some fresh air !
River looks in cracking condition🎣🎣 Still mad brown floods here in Fermanagh! Thanks for posting👍👍
It’s still up about 1ft from its normal level unfortunately 🙈 hopefully next week things will get back to normal !
Appreciate you time and effort to bring us these enjoyable videos Senan. Look forward to your next one.
Thank you very much
Beautifully done, brother.
Respect from Cornwall. 👍
Thank you! 🤝

@@senanstanleyfishing Thanks brother.
great video mate, swop the hooks for 2 inline hooks at the back eyelet of your lure, they stick on way better 👍👍🎣
good stuff was down in galway last week had a nice brownie
Good job 🤝
I used to use the black fury and nothing else when spinning on my local palmerstown i should branch out maybe next time on this set up.well done sir
The black fury is also one of the best for sure 🤝🐟

That’s great, this little river doesn’t hold fish bigger than 35cm! 😂 you are lucky to have a river with large trout next to you.
@@senanstanleyfishing you should come down it's great craic the fish there are massive making a video down there would be class

And that ultralight rod is beautiful 😍
The drag clicker is soooo nice for these wild trout 🤩🤝
Great Video again thanks Senan 👏
Thank you!
Great fishing Senan 👍
Thanks Paul ☺️👌
Im like you, I prefer the backhand cast too
It’s easier for accuracy under trees too

Have had pike while targeting perch on this setup up to 80cm, it’s well able to handle the pike anyway. 👍
Can’t beat the alderbaron bfs combo for bit fun
Best reel 🤝
what chestmount are you wearing?
Why dont you fish for salmon 🎣🎣🎣
Too busy fishing for trout and pike, we fish in predator lure fishing tournaments throughout the year, so salmon isn’t so important for us. ☺️
Nice fish
Thank you 🐟
No need to set drag that loose...doesn't make sense...and why is there a clicker? My aldebaran doesn't make that sound
