  • In this video, I take you to one of Guam's best hikes. Come along for a quick and fun hike at #OneThousandSteps on Guam. This hike is roughly 1-hour roundtrip and is often visited by many tourists. The hike is a moderate level and consists of quite a few stairs (a few hundred lol).
    Once you make it to the bottom, you soon realize how beautiful the natural landscape is. The views are stunning and go on forever.
    Have you visited #Guam before? Have you done this hike before?

    Ty for sharing your videos Matt. I’m from Guam 🇬🇺 and yes it can get quite humid 😊. But the beauty it has to offer is worth it. Apologies to the unfortunate abandon vehicles and trash that our visitors have to see. Hopefully one day it will be taken care of and visitors such as yourself can experience our island beauty has to offer. You will be amazed of all the beautiful sites we have to share. Stay hydrated and safe. Next time take a partner along in case anything may happen 😊❤🇬🇺

    Great coverage and hike, it is worth the trip once you see the expansive views! 👌🏾Thanks for taking us along for the hike. Last time I've been on the trail was roughly 20 years ago. Nice to see there are safer steps now and with grip. Back then, it was really rugged. Only a local spot so not much care and safety. I can feel the heat and humidity just watching this. 😅 Also, sadly for as long as I remember growing up on the island before I left at 18, illegal dumping and junk cars, even burning plastic and rubber are common. 😪 Many people refuse to pay and/or can't pay for the disposal service. I wish the government and leaders elected would do something about it. It does distract and take from the island's innate beauty. 😔 Stay safe (from boonie dogs) and happy traveling!

      Wow crazy to think you have been to that hike 20 years ago!!! I know, the car junk situation is terrible and such a sad reality. You are so right though. If the interior could fix things up a bit, the island would be even. more beautiful/fun, for locals and tourists alike. Thanks for watching and take care! :)

    Hi Matt that’s a great hike! Too hot and humid though just like here in the 🇵🇭. I’ve done the Grouse Grind in Vancouver, BC 🇨🇦 It’s a 1.5+ mile ascent, with an elevation gain of 2,800 feet. When you get to the top you see the stunning 360 view of Vancouver Metro. Take care and happy hiking in Guam 🙏

    Thanks for doing this hike instead of me, the path looks like you were the only one there in the last decades.
    The way back was more hard, right? You are a sort of brave guy, see you next time, hi.

      Hahaha at least you could see what it's like without going. Exactly. Only one this time. It's quite peaceful to be the only one hiking sometimes but not always fun. Vertical climb is a leg workout but not bad if you take your time.

    Hahaha 😂😂😂 speak for yourself it's going down that's the hardest. My body just keeps going and doesn't stop and then I break a foot.twice. 1 yr apart from each other on marble stairs same thing but different house and different foot last step each time. I'd rather climb them up. I have no coordination so yeah. Lol that looms cool I'm just deadly afraid of spiders. Maybe I could stick my hubby in front and he could get attacked by them first just incase. As soon as we can go someday

    • @MattReardonVlogs
      @MattReardonVlogs  3 місяці тому

      well definitely be careful!! It's unfortunate that some of the railings are broken. Unlucky situation but yeah the spiders are pretty much inevitable here. Best of luck

    Why are you doing these hikes alone? Have you not learned anything from the last decade of people doing it alone ? Making a video doesn't count lol 😂. Yeah I love to hike I just hate how it makes me feel. I hurt so bad afterwards. Ankle cramps in all. Not normal pain. I tighten up so bad. I have to see a chiropractor for days on end. I'm so tight a massage won't even help. Gotta use suction cups . What happens when you take all these things for granted and now I wanna do it

      Hahahaha I know but that's why I don't do crazy solo hikes. Only do the ones that are short and safe for the most part. I listen to my body and don't take risks. But solo hiking can be dangerous without proper preparations. Hiking is a very strenuous activity that requires good stretching and nutrition centered around it. Have to take care of the body before and after ya know
