That took forever to go thru. All my spare time til wee hours of the morning during work weeks to look for major keys. Wish I had key collector back then. I was fortunate to start collecting in 1970s when these comics were affordable and available and by 1980s had multiples of many of the silver age you showed, but in latter 1980s and 1990s lost interest and sold much of collection but still have a few...enjoy watchimg you guys work together and glad you found a nice collection to preserve. I agree with Fire guy Ryan. Life changing doesnt mean that you gave to take actionable steps toward making a change if you are inspired by a life changing movie. Its a more internal thing. We internalize the life changing movie and it helps mold our perspective on life. Maybe more long term can a life changing movie spring you into action, but its more about changing our perspectives.
Something kinda random but tied to what Ryan said about little Timmy talking in the theatre. Why are kids allowed into rated R movies? I see it a lot, and that isn’t safe for kids, and isn’t fair to the adult viewers.
If the parents are cool with it, I guess it's allowed, I definitely remember going to R-rated movies with my parents before I turned 17, but not as little as the kids Tom's talking about 😅
Guys its real simple, when you’re a captive audience the focus quotient shoots up, when you’re home watching anything on your big screen tv’s you can become distracted and you normally do other things such work,”RYAN!” Focus is the key to it all. If you are focused you accomplish more and understand more.

Incredible find! While I’m sure most are drooling over the Marvel gems, I’m very interested in the DC finds! Showcase 4 and the early Flash books 105-125ish, have very low populations on the cgc census compared to their Marvel counterparts, and with Showcase 4 that book is already hard to find and gets even harder above 5.0, so when a new /nice one enters the market it’s a notable find. I’d love to know if there was Superboy 10 (1st Lana Lang), Detective 225, Action242/252, Flash 105, Phantom Stranger 1? Or possibly a very random and tough book… Blood is the Harvest? Any early Batman books? Those are quietly being gobbled up. Have you guys ever done a deep dive show into the history of the comic collecting hobby? Like Jerry Bails, Bill Spicer, Roy Thomas and all those old school guys who really propelled things in the 60’s? It’s truly a magical story.
Your podcast is so cool! I love the collection you guys have found and way you're bringing it to the rest of us to share in the excitement! Congratulations again! Hope to visit your comic shop one of these days
MCU needs to switch to its horror stage of story telling. those 1970s bronze horror stories were unreal entertaining. love to see them on the big screen. the werewolf by night special was pretty good
I recently saw a book i never heard of, Spidey super stories 11 where the first black cat is a black woman. Its never been mentioned but im very interested in it.
I think you mean 1st Spider-Woman and not Black Cat. Val the Librarian finds Spider-Man’s suit and she adds suction cups to the hands so she can climb walls and then fight The Vulture. The Spidey Super Stories were supposed to be more marketed at children, but they’ve gained a cult following over the years. Especially issue #39 where Thanos rides around in a helicopter with his name plastered on the side of it. It’s hysterical to think that Thanos would go out of his way to buy an Earth helicopter and then commission someone to write “Thanos” on the side of the thing.
Love the podcasts on the large collection. Can't wait for more!! Was this a personal collection that you bought or a store that went out of business? If you revealed that already, sorry I missed it

That lady is clearly unfamiliar with the breadth and depth of the Marvel universe and what’s available to them in terms of IP. And that she’s coming from the Fast and Furious franchise and throwing shade on Marvel is hilarious, ironic and ridiculous.

Easiest way around this is to go earlier in the day while they’re at school. Same thing during the summer. Most kids parents are working during the day so it’s highly improbable they’ll be at the earlier shows. 2. 100% disagree with Ryan. Kyle Rayner is not lame. He’s my favorite GL and that’s because the first GL book I personally owned was Green Lantern Vol. 3, No. 50. The glow in the dark cover with Hal Jordan being a BAD GUY and killing all the GL Corp, adorned with 10 power rings. Plus there’s a great story where Kyle kills off a planet of Xenomorphs from the Alien series. 3. 100% disagree with Jeff. Hulk 180 is first appearance. You see Wolverine in costume, he has a speaking role AND says his name. The market just pays for for 181 because Wolverine is on the cover.

@@goldenageguru You did mention how he had mental health issues.
You did mention how he had Asperger's.
You did mention how his family wasn't Nice to him.
If you want me to take the time and clip it I can. BUT it was said and it was also said by the news that interviewed the family. So please don't say that I'm lying.
@@MattMatt77you initially said that the family treated him very nastily his entire life. That was no where in this video, you then back pedaled to say they weren’t very nice to him. Also not once mentioned in this video(if there is a time code of that please let me know) It’s a personal and emotional story that involved an entire family with many painful moments for everyone involved, so please don’t utilize this video as some place for you to spew rhetoric and falsities.
@@goldenageguru 31:37 - 31:47 1 part. 32:15 - 32:22 that's because you're a part of it and you have connections to the family do not call me a liar
The mental health part I said YOU mentioned 32:34
33:17 you mentioned he was on the Spectrum
Talked about how his wife got a divorce 33:40
33:45 - 33:51 mention how the family hated his collecting and how it tore apart the family. CBS News his wife divorced him and his son really didn't like his collecting.
Your boy Tom spoke and recited the same thing you just said 34:50 - 35:00
35:18 spoke about AGAIN how it destroyed the family because of what was said in CBS News.
To add. The original news story by CBS Detroit. In their post they had. Decide how his wife left him because of the collection and the son felt very embarrassed and didn't want to talk to his Dad because of his collection. Now that went to my original point that you're trying to quote me on and trying to fact checkmate 🙄. So right there I got that information. Because his wife divorced him his son didn't want to really speak to him much because of all the stuff he had that's being nasty. Now when we can talk about money they don't want to be nasty and they even said that near the end of the video. That's because you have ties with the family do not act as if it's not true and call Me a liar scu mbag.
Can i have the jim 85 thats my grail but the wife is not letting me spend that kinda money on old paper
I disagree with buddies life change thought. Something can be life changing without having seen it yet. It just hasn’t changed your life yet. Doesn’t mean it hasn’t changed others lives.
👍🏼👀👍🏼
It's not the movies. It's the same actors over and over you get tired of.
The haters are just feeling their pockets get lighter, and their place in the world esp hollyworld increasingly less significant!
They want comic movies gone so they can go back to "Movie Business" as usual, but I'm pretty sure we've past point of no return they are here to stay as long as theirs $$ to be made!
BTW great finds yall!!
Love the entire crew from top to bottom but golden age guru is a little too pretentious for me
bad writing is killing the MCU, choosing advocacy over storytelling, which is surefire way to fail. I want to be entertained, not preached to.
Why in the world do you have a mask on?
Had to have it when we looked at the collection last year. It was one of their requirements.
First!
Take off the mask dude
Marvel obviously needs darker movies personally 🫡
