Amaranth was my first Nightwish song ever. This was in around 2011. I didn’t get into them properly until early last year (February). Listening to this one for the first time took a bit getting used to because I loved Annette’s version. Now I love Floor’s version, although Annette’s still got a special place in my heart.
Order the live bluray from Buenos Aires 2018 already man!! It's based on the Decades album which is a collection of what they believe to be the soul of Nightwish songs essentially. Some of their older stuff absolutely heaaaaaves with Floor!
Floor had a cold before Buenos Aires, so her pipes weren't at 100%. But even if she's only at 90% she still sounds great. P.S. Tuomas gave her a bottle of red wine in the middle and after she took a couple of nips and returned it to him, Tuomas had no shy to drink from her bottle whatsoever.
A spectacular performance as expected and so pumped I got to see and hear her singing this myself. I do admit that I would have liked the chance to hear Annette perform it live as well because her album version is just as good as Floor’s take on it. Keep up the good work. Cheers!

As you're almost through all the Wacken performance, you NEED to check out Last of the Wilds.....its an instrumental song, so no Floor on stage, but the song is AMAZING! Its been described as an irish jig on acid, and really shows how talented they all are as musicians :) Some other reactors apparently have had some issues with copyright with it, but if you can check it out you wont regret it :) Also, im gonna repeat my suggestion for Sleeping Sun from Tampere :)

This song and 'slow love' are the only songs Anette actually sings better. At the chorus of Amaranthe at the words 'fading in ' Anette does a little jodel: and that is the only sound Floor cannot make !
Definitely a Soprano, but her voice is a bit "darker" in tone even as the base pitch of her singing voice is that of a Soprano. Every person has a different timbre in his/her voice. That makes us distinguishable, albeit too much personality in own voice is considered a bad thing in Classic singing, especially Opera. ; )

I think Amaranth must have been a recent hit for Nightwish, hence the exitement. It is worthwhile watching the official video with Annette.
