SWC Dilemma: Thank you for the informative install video. I purchased the same set up based on your video. After installation following the instructions and your video, my SWC still did not work! Pulling my hair out knowing I followed the instructions to a "T", I called BOSS tech support. They too said it should work and recommended contacting CRUX. After explaining to them and within 1 minute, BINGO!, I have full SWC! Ok, so I didn't read the little sheet that came with the CRUX package that tells you to open the CRUX interface box and there is a very small DIP switch setting inside for 3v and 5v. I was instructed to switch it from the 5v to 3v and that was the answer. So, I hope this helps anyone else that missed the little sheet that came with the CRUX interface kit.
I bought the setup in this video, and I was wondering if the radio supports the camera in AHD 720p mode, or if it only works in the default mode as the camera comes. I am asking, because I don't want to cut the purple wire and then have to resplice it.
The way you worked the harness looks awesome!! I have the 2012 liberty Jet model with the subwoofer in the back. Would you be able to prepare the harness as you performed in the video if I send you the materials? If so, how much would you charge for that job and extra materials? Thanks for the video! Erwin
SO I actually went through and used all the products you used in this video and went through the install in my Daughters 2011 Jeep Liberty Sport we bought for her first car. After the install I gave it the old test for full function before buttoning everything up, and the stereo will not turn on completely. I get the buttons on the left to blink on and then off and that is it. I have tested for power to the common and to the accessory for 12volts all is there. I tried a soft and hard reset of the head unit but that also did not work. just the same issue with the buttons to blink on and then off right away. I also did a bench test to see if the head unit would power on and it in fact powered on all the way. The only thing I do not have wired is the Parking brake wire. But it is my assumption that the Head unit should still power on fully without that, but just get a message restricting certain functions. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, so I hooked it up to my 2011 Jeep Liberty color for color and did exactly what you did since it doesn't have the upgraded audio system. Everything works except the steering wheel controls. I also have to have all the swiches off, unlike what it says and have one on, for it to work. Do you know what I did wrong?
Question I'm doing this same install and there is another connector that's smaller can't find what its for and the kit doesn't have a connector for it to go in?
Depends on the harness adapter and the trim of the vehicle. Some have the factory backup camera, others have data wires that pass through it which the harness / new radio doesn't require. If you are keeping all factory features, nothing to stress about.
I hooked all of the wires up to my new head unit according to the charts that came with the harness and my head unit but there’s a constant hissing now coming from the speakers. I checked all of my grounds so it’s not that. Any idea how to fix this?
Recently purchased everything in video. Realized my head unit has the bezel installed. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why the side parts would not sit flushed against it like yours did. Have to take it apart when I get off work.
have a 2012 Jeep Liberty Jet with the Infinity system. Mine came with a 7-inch monitor from the factory. and apparently it is damaged because it only blinks I went to put a new one in but I realized that it takes a lot of parts and is very expensive. I saw your video and it is simple, can you help me with what I need to do it myself? My system has a factory riversa camera from the factory.
@ProvoBeastAudio if you connect the two usb extensions to the radio, how does it know which one is the iPhone you'd be connecting to CarPlay and can the other just be charging?
I have 2012 Jeep Liberty which I believe is SXM-ready, do I need to purchase the kit or do I only need to purchase a XM-ready radio? Any tips or advice will help
Love the video, I’m working on my 2008 Jeep Liberty Limited 4x4, I don’t have any type of steering wheel controls so do I need the Crux adapter? Can I get by with just an Antenna adapter, wire harness kit, and dash kit?
I'm working on 2012 Liberty without amp. The purple white that is labeled reverse gear attaches to reverse input or parking brake input wire of Boss harness?
The purple white wire goes to the reverse input wire of the new radio (if your radio is backup camera compatible). Do NOT hook it to the parking brake wire or else you can short out that circuit.
This model radio can simply have the parking brake grounded anywhere. However Pioneer and alpine brands require a microbypass or to hook it up correctly.
The link to the dash kit doesn’t fit the radio… we’re using the exact same radio too, but the dash kit you have linked, the holes do not match up at all Edit: okay never mind, I see how you did yours… now time to find bolts or screws that’ll fit those holes you have bolted/screwed in because the dash kit package doesn’t come with any but 4 screws lmao… wish they would’ve added more knowing what you had to do with yours
Could the same setup work on a 2007 dodge nitro RT I have the factory subwoofer included with the RT package. Need to upgrade for Bluetooth mostly but I want to keep my factory subwoofer
Parts used linked in the description of the video!
Will the *Metra 95-6511 Double Din Dash Kit u used accommodate a 10.1 inch touchscreen unit?
This will be a great gift for my wife's jeep. Probably make it a mothers day gift

Hey Erwin, sure. Send us a message on facebook and we can work out the details.
Will this be the same procedure for a 2013 grand Cherokee? No upgrade sound system

5 Months later. What was the cause of the problem?
The width of my stereo opening is 3.5 inches and the sterio y’all put is 3.8 inches did y’all have to cut frame?
Nope. And it’s by din size, not screen size. Kit we used is for double din radio (standard sized chassis). What year is your liberty?
@@ProvoBeastAudio 2012
I have the same problem the radio is bigger than the cover. The radio is a BVCP9700A
And I a 2010 jeep liberty
If you remove the casing on the stereo it fixes perfectly - there is small black casing/lip around the Boss stereo and it pops right off.
We tried that and it still won’t fit. Any other ideas?
Do these radios pick up AM?
Great install. Very happy with it.

Your switch programming isn't right. Depends on the radio. I can help you if you send me a message on our facebook page.
Did you solve it? Open the interface box and set the internal dip switch from 5v to 3v

How do I know if my jeep has a stock amplifier or not
Is the same interface if i want to add the rear camera?, thank you for your help
Your videos are thoroughly thorough! Lol thank you, my man.
Where can I buy crux swrcr-59
I have 2012 Jeep Liberty which I believe is SXM-ready, do I need to purchase the kit or do I only need to purchase a XM-ready radio? Any tips or advice will help
Yes, the radio first off needs to be XM radio ready, and you will need the XM tuner here: amzn.to/3CfClE8
Love the video, I’m working on my 2008 Jeep Liberty Limited 4x4, I don’t have any type of steering wheel controls so do I need the Crux adapter? Can I get by with just an Antenna adapter, wire harness kit, and dash kit?
You still need a smart harness. The non- steering wheel control version is also linked.

The purple white wire goes to the reverse input wire of the new radio (if your radio is backup camera compatible). Do NOT hook it to the parking brake wire or else you can short out that circuit.
I have a 2011 Jeep liberty I purchased a screen radio from eBay. What is All the things I need?
The parts we linked in the description fits all double din radios.
Did the factory radio have Sirius ?
Oh so easy and not complex at all 😂
Mine has the factory subwoofer in the back but I can still use all the same items you used in your video correct ?
Yes, the harness we linked will work both with the factory amplified or amplified audio systems.
Hey, do I need the crux smart adapter if I have the controls on the back?
You still need a smart harness yes. The version without steering wheel volume controls is the Crux SOOCR-26 amzn.to/40koDuq
@Provo Beast Audio Installation Thank you, I just ordered it.
Hi again, what does the parking brake wire hook up to?
