    Thank Jodi! It looks moorish!!! Delish! Did you just say to bake it at 425 F degrees?🤔 Just double checking.

      Hey Nutmeg!
      Here's what you'll need: (Updated)
      Dry ingredients
      3 cups all purpose flour
      1 tsp salt
      1/2 tsp baking soda
      1/2 tbsp cinnamon
      1/2 tbsp grated nutmeg
      1 tsp ground allspice
      Wet ingredients
      1 cup Guiness or malt beverage
      2 tbsp molasses
      1 cup brown sugar (adjust for sweetness)
      1 tbsp browning
      1/4 cup strawberry preserve
      2 tsp vanilla extract
      4 tbsp melted butter
      1/4 cup vegetable oil
      3 eggs whisked
      zest of 1/2 lemon
      Juice of 1/2 lemon
      1 cup dried fruits
      Transfer to a 9x5 in loaf pan
      Bake at 325F for 50 mins, turn off oven and allow to sit for another 10-15 mins.
      Store in an airtight container/ziplock bag for up to 5 days for maximum freshness.

    I know bun is more dense than cake thank you I am going to try using 1/2 teaspoon baking SODA and see how it works

    This bun looks very easy but I am concerned about the amount of baking powder
    3 cups of flour and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder 🤔

      Hi! To be honest, I played around with different measurements of baking powder and found this to be a consistency i prefer. Bun is a bit more dense than a cake for example so it will not need as much of a leavening agent. You can add 1/2 tsp more and see if it works for you. Let me know how it turns out 😃

    It needed the baking powder, it will taste ok but it looked dry on top. Try it with BP next time you will see the difference

    Your recipe says 3 eggs, you say 2, there is no yeast, so you should use baking powder, because soda will not give it the necessary rise
