Rachel, I would add back some amount of student loan payments to the budget. With the incoming Administration in January, it's unlikely that federal student loan forgiveness and/or reduced monthly loan payments will be on the agenda. They may even roll back existing Biden policies. Better to start preparing now than get caught off guard!!!
Yes, agreed. As soon as the payment comes back, it will be back in the budget. That's why I never eliminated the line item from my budget, I knew it would come back eventually.
I love this, so yes, please take us along 😅. It may seem insignificant, but every little counts, and ultimately, it may inspire persons who are unemployed or simply not making enough to get out there because there are ways to succeed available 💞
Thanks for bringing us along on this new adventure. It’s a great way to see different areas too and you’d never know you might find the perfect place 🤞🙏 Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏👍💪🙏💐🐈🐈⬛
Work life balance comes with a sacrifice - money. But the rewards for having a happier life and learning to live on less money are priceless. It takes time to work out the balance to the right proportion but that's part of the journey and it's worth putting in the effort.
You are trialing out doing slow fi! I love it. You are a few steps ahead of me on the kind of life path I am aiming toward. I 100% feel you on how its societally challenging, that people will be worried about us not doing life right and that's challenging to go against. I already live differently than most to be able to get to this point where I am pondering how to do my version of a slow fi/coast fi life. Cudos to you on designing YOUR dream life.
If you can try Sundays, I’m sure it would be busier. As someone who orders grocery delivery that is the hardest day to schedule a delivery, and the busiest day in store of if I end up going myself. Love this series concept! I hope you make more, and good luck with your goal ❤
I enjoyed watching this ❤ I've been following you since you were working that extra shitty job and it's amazing to see your journey. You're an awesome reminder that change happens, life doesn't go as planned, and man do things still end up alright. 💓
I watch another gig work channel and she is making good money on UA-cam by taking us on shops with her. She is in Tampa so it is different than New England. I lived in Vermont and I could not see it working there because of all the small towns.
Good morning, Rachel! Glad to see you so happy and enjoying life. I have a question....I've not heard you mention retirement savings. What are your thoughts or feelings about saving for retirement?
Thank you SO much! And thank you for asking! I need to do a better job about sharing where my retirement accounts are at when I do my monthly budget reviews. I do invest in a 401K with company match each pay period. I think they're super important, I just don't feel like going hard into one is the best use of my money right now, based on my life circumstance. But I still always do it and recommend everyone to!
I hated pure office work! I enjoyed jobs where I had field appointments or could work from home. Also a job where I worked in a group setting, but the boss was located elsewhere and I did the tasks on my own in the order I chose.
I understand where you are coming from. Have you spoken to people who do gig work full-time? They do not do well. I think it is more effective as a means to supplement your income not replace a stable job..
the other shoe that will drop is you can't stay at your aunts forever at that price right? you need to be more realistic about housing eventually I would guess.
Yes, agreed. That is why I have the plan in place for seller my rental property and finding a piece of land I can purchase using cash I've been saving for real estate.
I'm trying to save as well to live a simple lifestyle in the future with my husband. I work an 8-4 writing job (I'm a copywriter and editor), but I work from home and live 8 hours from my office. It's still not complete freedom, but it's a world of difference from being in an office in a cubicle! I can never go back to being stuck in an office. My goal is to pay off debt and then become a part-time freelance writer, along with gig work, to not ever have to rely on an office job again.
@@its.rachel.hickey Thank you, I sure hope so! I'm 38 and can't believe it took me this long to realize that corporate life was making me so unhappy for so many years. Good luck on your goals too!
I love this video. Also, My advice to everyone is this : if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to make investments. Saving is great but investing puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about savings as you do now. Thanks to larysa Caba, my portolio is doing really great and im proud of the decisions i made last year.
I feel one Of the greatest challenges that we first timers face in the ma rket is that we end up losing all we have, making it difficult to find ourselves back to our feet. My biggest advice is to always seek the services of a professional just like I did when I ventured into it for the first time. Big thanks to Larysa Caba. I now make huge profits by weekly through her services while still learning to stand on my own.
I have never seen a trader as open and transparent as Larysa Caba with her clients. The way she decides to make a profit for her clients. she allows you to express your fears and she still rests your fears and that is my respect. I don't normally comment on videos, but this word should be included. she is really cool.

Someday when you have a chance we would love to see a grocery haul of your own personal shopping.

I’d love to see your weekend gig work. I’m considering working Uber/Lyft to pay off a newer car.
Please share how you do in the weekend. I'm super curious. Rooting for this to work out for you!

I would agree, all of those options sound way better than pure office work.

I love the goals!!👏 I completely agree, work from home is FAR better than a cubicle! I have no doubt you’ll get to your goal sooner than you think!☺️

I have major back issues so I can’t do the shopping but I think I could deliver. Do you think it is worth it just to deliver groceries?
Delivery is the most physical part. With shopping, you can use the electric cart.
I think it could be! But I would need more time with it to give a better answer.🙂
I originally wanted to buy your rental, but I am getting out of that market as well. It is not a landlord friendly state like Alabama
😊❤😊 Happiness

Making over 48k monthly is all because of her.
