Drop the trailer off at there site for construction , Basement clean outs , or whatever let them fill it and you come back and pick it up. Charge by day and trip loads . Spend the extra money for a good lock and another tip they make dog tags for your dogs that are gps get one put it under the trailer that way you know we’re it is at all times ..

What's a good size trailer to start off with? At this time all I have is a used 2007 Chevy Express Van with a 4.3 liter. I have used this van to haul off trash and it's done very well. I have made almost $1000 in a month, any recommendations is greatly appreciated
Unfortunately I think you’re going to be limited with the power that your van has to pull any substantial roads and when I mean by that is anything that’s over about 8000 pounds. I always suggest getting the biggest trailer you feel comfortable pulling
If you're buying a dump trailer inspect the frame good! I bought one and first time I used it part of the frame buckled! Wanted one for years and this was the first "affordable" one I found. After repairs it will not be any deal at all. Buyer beware...
I had that happen with my second trailer. It is an iron bowl and I paid 5000 for it. Well once I had to replace all the brakes and bearings and everything that ran the price pretty close up to about 8000 it was not a deal at all

To start with I would buy a new trailer and that way you know exactly what you’re getting. I have mine serviced about once every six months wheel bearings greased check the brakes Inspect hydraulic system

Never include dump fees with trailer rent prices always charge seperate flat rate which is $150 for me, after pickup come back to the customer with a receipt and charge them the dump fee you paid

Dump trailer business is not a side hustle if your doing it legally. There’s DOT compliance, commercial insurance, and general liability insurance at a minimum. This is costly. Most people who do junk removal and dumpster hustle type things in my area, are doing so illegally and are not legit. These types of people will get confronted at some point or another by DOT. These types of people who operate illegally, hurt the people who paid their dues and run legit.

No I do not… I would send them an invoice they would pay with Square and then the notes I would say how many days the rental was for and the payment would be their acceptance of those terms
The dump trailer is $200 for me to bring it by drop it off and when I pick it up I look at how much is inside of it and then I determine on what the cost of the dump fee is going to be because that is different than the trailer fee

My van is 6000 LBS I'll never be over 2000lbs So I'll be under weight I only have a 4.2L engine with 160,000 miles (for starters) plus a REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION But first thing I'll do is upgrade My used engine
Thats the question I wanted to ask is how to secure the trailer when leaving it with a customer. Do they assume responsibility if stolen or is that partvof the risk?
@@etgrider77 You will have to secure the trailer. You can pull the emergency switch connector locking the brakes. Get a good welder/ fabricator to make a toung lock that hides the padlock or has limited access. Most toung locks on the market are not that secure. You can install a alarm that is powered on the battery. I have alarms on all my trailers. Get a Jack , 2x12 and a battery impact to remove 1 side of the tires. These are just a few ideas. Insurance that covers theft helps. It is a little extra work and initial investment. I won't tell you what to do it is up to you.
