    What's a good size trailer to start off with? At this time all I have is a used 2007 Chevy Express Van with a 4.3 liter. I have used this van to haul off trash and it's done very well. I have made almost $1000 in a month, any recommendations is greatly appreciated

    • @hustlenation4779
      @hustlenation4779  3 роки тому

      Unfortunately I think you’re going to be limited with the power that your van has to pull any substantial roads and when I mean by that is anything that’s over about 8000 pounds. I always suggest getting the biggest trailer you feel comfortable pulling

    If you're buying a dump trailer inspect the frame good! I bought one and first time I used it part of the frame buckled! Wanted one for years and this was the first "affordable" one I found. After repairs it will not be any deal at all. Buyer beware...

    • @hustlenation4779

      I had that happen with my second trailer. It is an iron bowl and I paid 5000 for it. Well once I had to replace all the brakes and bearings and everything that ran the price pretty close up to about 8000 it was not a deal at all

    Hello, I've been watching a few of you who have been successful with this. I have a few questions and hope you/yall can help. What are reoccurring maintenance fees that you incur with a dump trailer? Would you recommend starting with a new or used dump (considering the maintenance)? Would you start with a large or a small dump trailer?

    Dump trailer business is not a side hustle if your doing it legally. There’s DOT compliance, commercial insurance, and general liability insurance at a minimum. This is costly. Most people who do junk removal and dumpster hustle type things in my area, are doing so illegally and are not legit. These types of people will get confronted at some point or another by DOT. These types of people who operate illegally, hurt the people who paid their dues and run legit.

    Commercial Insurance is required. Also DOT Certification if gross weight (truck and trailer combined weight exceeds 10,000 lbs)

      My van is 6000 LBS
      I'll never be over 2000lbs
      So I'll be under weight
      I only have a 4.2L engine with
      160,000 miles (for starters) plus a REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION
      But first thing I'll do is upgrade
      My used engine

    Don't forget to secure your trailer from being stolen. No trailer no business.

      Thats the question I wanted to ask is how to secure the trailer when leaving it with a customer. Do they assume responsibility if stolen or is that partvof the risk?

    • @chrisguice139
      @chrisguice139 3 роки тому

      @@etgrider77 You will have to secure the trailer. You can pull the emergency switch connector locking the brakes. Get a good welder/ fabricator to make a toung lock that hides the padlock or has limited access. Most toung locks on the market are not that secure. You can install a alarm that is powered on the battery. I have alarms on all my trailers. Get a Jack , 2x12 and a battery impact to remove 1 side of the tires. These are just a few ideas. Insurance that covers theft helps. It is a little extra work and initial investment. I won't tell you what to do it is up to you.

      @@etgrider77 No I always feel that the trailer is my responsibility so I only leave it in locations that I feel safe
