- Hurricane Lee will threaten land later this weekend as it moves west of Bermuda. Interests in New England and the Canadian Maritimes should monitor the progress of Hurricane Franklin. The tropics remain active with Margot likely to become a hurricane and new storm likely tp develop next week.

Glad I left New England and moved to Arizona. It may be hot here but heat has never swept a house off its foundation.
Arizona has been calling me for over 30 years. I might just pick up and join your state. Big change but hurricane Lee made changes in the worst way for so many in its path.
Surprise Arizona was part of a project I was looking into and relocating. It was still in the making. I passed that chance due to 2020. Thanks for a sweet nudge.

Ive watch alot of livestreams about lee and you all say pretty much the same, i understand your video a bit better though, but in almost every livestream alot of people seem to be hoping lee doesn't make that north turn so it can hit florida, its really bizarre. We are happy to report that an article from ABC 13 Houston, we are expecting wind shear over the Gulf Of Mexico for the next 2 weeks. One cold front will bring cooler weather and plenty of rain 🌧️☔.
Me and my wife have a New York City trip planned Thursday-Monday. Should I be concerned? Just a FYI, I’m from New Orleans so I’ve been through my fair share of hurricanes but it’s not sure how the east coast holds up.

The water can be heated in various ways to strengthen Lee and drive it inland towards NYC. Don't be fooled this storm will go inland when the trough weakens from the control center in Alaska. When it turns inland it will be too late for anyone to get out just like in Lahaina Town, Maui.

I will never be a meteorologist all I have is a 25 years of Hurricane alley experience…I look at it logically and if high-pressure systems and low pressure systems don’t like to collide then why wouldn’t LEE take the path of least resistance and slam right into northern Florida and the Carolinas? Just trying to understand?
The storm tries to find the weakness it what is steering it. In this case it will follow the outside edge of the weak Bermuda high up and out. In the case of Irma in 2017, there wasn't a weakness in the ridge of high pressure and the storm kept racing west. That's the difference between those two storms. There's also a dip in the jet stream nearing the Deep South which will help the storm pull north. I hope this helps! - Jonathan
