    This makes me think of a stronger Henri. Made landfill in RI but the outer rings were felt in NJ and PA. Henri brought pretty severe thunderstorms. I'm thinking potential power outages and flooding with Lee. Especially since it rained all weekend and there's rain in the forecast for most of the week

    • @brandondunn4562
      @brandondunn4562 10 місяців тому +2

      Yes, absolutely would be worse than Henri. Hopefully that's the farthest west it would get or else more of the Northeast would be heavily impacted. It gives me hurricane Sandy vibes in which Lee would be totally worse than Sandy. Interesting and a storm to be fearful of at the same time.

    • @jsciarri
      @jsciarri 10 місяців тому +2

      Here on Long Island we were warned about Henri and its potential impacts. But in all honesty we got hardly any rain and just a little bit of wind but no big deal. I also remember Jersey getting clobbered with rain bands over the same areas for hours.

    Thank you for the update. I don’t think there is an “Inner Cape”. Provincetown, Truro and Wellfleet are considered the Outer Caper. More outer Cape is also referred to as Lower Cape while the more southern Cape towns are referred to as Upper Cape (I know, seems to not make sense). Other terminology is to refer to the Atlantic-side beaches as the outside beaches, and those on the bayside as inside beaches. Signed, Outer Cape resident.

      It will likely become extra tropical and double in size when it reaches the northeast, similar to what Sandy did when it came ashore in New Jersey. Like Mark says I wouldn't worry about the category number or pressure reading at this point, and would more closely monitor its potential impacts if and when it reaches land.

    "well advertised?" yeah, if you paid attention to 1/2 of the official forecast - the other half of the forecast stated the season may see minimal development due to Nino induced wind shear.
    Don't believe for a second that a suppressed ACE score and you, et al, would be honking 'like we said early in the season, El Nino would shear development" = can't miss forecast

    • @hurricanetrack
      @hurricanetrack  10 місяців тому +5

      I disagree. I can objectively dissect a season and had the El Niño overwhelmed the Atlantic, all of us who discuss these things would gave gladly pointed it out. In fact, there were signs in early August that maybe, just maybe, the season would in fact be a slow one…but here we are.

    • @jtp2007
      @jtp2007 10 місяців тому

      The problem with your statement is that every single agency that puts together a seasonal forecast all raised their numbers in July citing that the warmth in the Atlantic could counter balance the El Nino and that the El Nino was not as a strong as forecast up to that point.
      Back in April and May, you are right, but the belief that we would see higher activity was well documented before it happened.
