Hey there, I love this game! It's a fun take on anomaly hunting. I'm going to try and flag up the anomalies that Mark misses, but it's difficult because he may not show it on video depending on where he's looking. - 2:46 - the eyes on the poster to the left has changed. - 11:58 - the posters are slowly increasing in size. This is the same anomaly he will see at 22:53 but he catches the end result of the growth there. This time it completely escapes his notice, possibly because of the "graphical glitch" he encounters. - 14:26 - the doorknob has changed position on the farthest door on the right side of the hallway - 15:10 - there is an anomaly *somewhere* in here but Mark doesn't see it. Unfortunately, neither do we. Mark's assumption of a "false failure" is not correct. But the way this game works, you do not need to actually recognize the anomaly to "clear" it. - 16:14 - when Mark backtracks, you can see a face on the ceiling in front of the Concourse sign. Mark was standing *under* it at first so we don't see it until he backtracks. He will fail to spot this anomaly again at 30:31, but backtrack and notice it at 31:43. - 20:17 - Mark mentions how it's "the one time" he doesn't look at the *back* of the sign... but the front is upside down too. - 34:20 - Ceiling Face is a wonderful example of how an anomaly can repeat until you successfully "escape" from it. Mark will not encounter the faceless man again but Ceiling Face is still in play. - 34:39 - what Mark notices subconsciously is a pattern in the yellow tiles on the ground about halfway down the hallway
i love games like this, nothing super flashy and there aren't really any in your face jump scares but the way its set up and the ambiance messes with your head and starts making you more and more paranoid, questioning EVERYTHING
There actually is an "in your face" kind of jumpscare in this game. Not quite "in your face" but there's one where the guy is disguised as the wall and begins running after the player
@yb0ot I tried it in my own game, and even tho I knew it would happen, I still tried walking over to it and was surprised by how close you had to get I literally got to think "will it even happen" before it began running and I instantly turned away and began running frantically
@@DegreesSelcius the normal walking guy appears. The reason why I said he didn't was cause I saw a video before I experienced it myself where he wasn't there, but they probably updated it
That was a good game! Also, Mark hyperfocusing on one poster at a time and not seeing the last one right away was hilarious. "That's good... That's good... That's good... That's good... That's... NOT GOOD. NOT. GOOD. N-O-T G-O-O-D!!"
imagine being someone with, like, a visible disability, or a missing limb, or a facial deformity or something, and you're just minding your business when someone runs up to you, points right at it, screams "THAT'S ANOMALOUS!!!" and sprints in the opposite direction.

I don't want a war breaking out in my funny comment
Are we going to talk about how awesome the actual game is? Teaching the player in an intuitive way is so smart, being able to literally just have a linear path is so neat and lets the player master their mistakes easily. Not only that, but the map design in itself; as a game developer I know the steps you have to take to make a procedurally generated map, especially one like this that changes just based off a player’s position. Everything from the audio cues to the visual nitpicking is extremely clever, I really hope this dev gets more attention
mark: I've been playing way too much observation duty to be tricked by something like that. also mark: doesn't realize the lights turning off is an anomaly.
That flooding anomaly was legitimately one of the most terrifying scares in a horror game and I don't even have a particular fear of drowning or whatever
It something to do with the mix of the amount of water you encounter and the enclosed space. Your brain goes into hyperdrive evaluating that a huge amount of water in the underground walkways is NOT a fun time.
Markiplier perfectly, yet unintentionally summed up his content in one quote. "I have a feeling now that I'm gonna be utterly confident, and then somethings going to go horrifically wrong." 21:20.
@@Mushieshroomlolll that’s happened so many times with me, where i’d just be reading the comments and the second i find one with a quote it gets said in the video
This is my favorite type of horror; atmospheric without relying on jumpscares to make it scary. This game was so cool, all the anomalies were so creative, my favorite was definitely the water one, it made my stomach DROP.
It's a heartbreaking moment when mark is really close to the end. But you notice there's still like 8 minutes left in the video. So there's no way he beats it and you know he messes up.
I love how when Mark took the stairs the first time and then the real stairs at the end, he didn't notice the sound difference. It was distorted with the fake stairs, but no distortion at the ending lol.
it sounded to me almost like a fake recreation of the outside streets. The weird clanging and the bird sounds seemed oddly robotic to me so I imagined that it resembled a false sense of freedom.

@12:10. So as we see, there was indeed an anomaly. That “graphical glitch” was indeed indicative of an anomaly he should have turned around for. The anomaly was that the posters on the wall were growing. The “graphical glitch” was the frame edge of the poster clipping through Mark’s vision.
@@BlobAlt I’m pretty sure it’s the frame rate of the video or something - I didn’t see it until I rewatched that section at least 10 times, knowing there had to be something, and it is pretty obvious when it’s there.

Mark blindly following the rule of hugging the left wall to an annoying degree, but completely ignoring all the posters is such a weird dichotomy of rule following/breaking.
All anomalies: 1. Two men in suits stand in your way 2. "Pete" Smiling as he walks past 3. "Pete"s head following the player as he walks past 4. "Pete"s head being half see through 5. 34:00 its funny how you can completely focus on examining frames as mark and only notice the last one at last second, but damn that single picture is enough to scare the shit out of someone examining them, if it started moving or made a sound after you look closer at it my heart would fall out
It really was a perfect moment for Mark to start analyzing them one at a time. Probably the closest this game gets to a Jumpscare (besides the ambush entity at the end of the hall, which Mark immediately saw)
This is why, no matter how mainstream or over-done a game is, I always love watching Mark play it. He takes a game and makes it entirely his own from the get-go, it becomes a completely different experience and I always love it lmao
This game is going viral in my country Japan. I'm so happy you played it!! Some subways in my country actually look like this... Somewhat unsettling and fairly spooky.
The briefcase guy: "Oh, no. Not this guy again. Just keep walking, John. Don't look at him, don't say a word. Just go ahead and forget about him" Mark anytime he sees him: "WELL, WELL. LOOK WHO IT IS!"
there's something about markiplier that just never gets old. ive been watching these types of videos for years now, not gotten tired of it. mark, you truly are wonderful and keep it up my man

yeah cuz usually when the lights turn off means something fun is about to happen. Mark obviously expect anything to come out, but sadly that's not the case here.
The missed anomalies that i was able to see cause mark and his editor let me see them. 12:00 posters are growing in size 14:25 door knob 16:00 the premier of ceiling face!!! (you can see it on his run back) 20:45 not 100% on this but i think the anomaly is the security camera on the left side of the hall is red. (not sure if this counts as missed or not) bonus: 34:39 he got it but since he didn't call it out for those who just couldn't figure it out, there are yellow tiles in the shape of a sun on the floor. man ceiling face really seems to like Mark... pretty sure he didn't get at least 4 of the possible anomalies too. Edit: thanks to the replies managed to identify a couple more of the ones he just missed. 6:57 door knob in center of door 3 13:59 unusual security poster. Likely the one where the eyes move back and forth.
Literally nothing funnier than watching him walk right past an anomaly despite looking right at it. I was hoping Mark would play this game and I'm so happy he did!
I love that pretty much any playthrough of this the first thing people do is analyze and memorize the posters, and then here...17 minutes in "...am I suppose to look at the posters?"
I find it funny that Mark is walking directly on the left side and staring suspiciously at the man without even looking if the posters grow size or change
I recently moved to Japan, not sure what the noise was when he went up the stairs on exit 0 but when he went to exit 8 and I heard the crosswalk chimes I was very happy lol. One of the little but favorite things I love about being here :))) I wish america had something that sounded calming/cute for a crosswalk lol :) sorry, weird rant😂
A simple but effective horror game. I like that the more unique anomalies that occur the better. I was kinda expecting the man to be walking on the ceiling at some point. Or even have his phone and briefcase switched. I would had liked even bigger stuff happening sometimes like something in the poster tries to grab the player.
It's more of a psychological horror game and if it was real life you'd go mad, adding in jump scares or danger elements would be cool but make the game that much harder
@@sharpen193 The red dot on the camera was on. It took my so many times running it back and then I had to run it back further just to check and make sure, and Mark went animal instinct and found it without even realizing it. 😂 So funny.
Inspired by @SuzakuGame from the comments of I'm on Observation Duty, I'm here to list all of the anomalies Markiplier missed! Feel absolutely free to correct me! (each timestamp is where the hallway STARTS) 6:34 - The doorknob on the far left door is centered. 7:19 - The staircase at the end of a hall is an anomaly that caused a game over. 11:45 - The extra camera and glitchy walls were not anomalies, but the growing of all of the posters were. 13:38 - For a few frames, the eyes on the camera poster moves as mark looks away (found by someone and @limepop340). 14:15 - Another doorknob being center-aligned. 14:44 - Face in the ceiling (you can see a smudge right where it would be. Found by @AIRaces) (?). 15:07 - ? - He chose right, but for the wrong reason. Not enough of the hall was shown to know what anomaly it was. 15:48 - Face in the ceiling (found by @BaconJake14). 20:43 - Very hard to spot, but the camera in the hall had a red light on. 34:37 - Hard to spot, but a symmetrical yellow tile pattern has appeared on the floor down the hall. For any anomalies I didn't say, he either caught them, went back and found what he missed, or they were obvious game-overs (door opening, staircase, twins, etc). Note: I think every area after a game over is an introduction area with no anomalies, leading to level 0.
Yup. When you start a new run or when you get a game over, the first hallway is always a sample to make sure you know what the baseline is. I don't see anything else that could be it at 13:38, so I think it might be moving eyes. EDIT: Yeah no I have no idea what the rest could possibly be. None of the others have oddly narrow eyes on the poster so I don't think they're moving eyes, and the tactile paving looks normal. 15:07 could be literally anything because he decided to turn back right away.
13:38 - Could have been shifty eyes if we were really unfortunate enough to only see the poster when the eyes didn't move. Could have also been Turn Back Turn Back since he didn't look at the Concourse side of the sign. 14:44 - Best guess is the creepy supermarket poster (2nd poster) since we don't get a good look at it due to the cut. 15:07 - Definitely too soon to tell. 15:48 - You can see when he goes back at 16:15 that it's the face in the ceiling
I usually dont enjoy these types of games but this one was so fun but this one had the looping element and the numbers to tell you if youre on the right track. That made it so much fun for me. Especially since mark kept dying at the WORST times. Getting to 8 so many times just to loop again is truly a nightmare. This must be what hell is like.
Mark: overthinking about the spacing and losing Also Mark: not immediately turning around on an obvious anomaly that he knows about and losing Somehow, also Mark: AWW COME ON!!!
6:37 the difference was either the 2nd poster’s face, the ceiling face, the backside of the exit 8 sign on the ceiling saying something else, the doorknob(which was the difference) or the security poster following you / looking left & right
The sad thing is, Mark could've won a lot sooner if he didn't question the No Smoking sign the first time around. When you get to Exit 8, you cannot win on an anomalous hallway. Any time there's an anomaly in the hallway and you turn back, you have to repeat Exit 8 until you proceed through a hallway that has NO anomaly in it. Trying to proceed through an Exit 8 hallway with an anomaly just resets you to Exit 0 again. It's the ultimate gaslighting challenge right at the end. Is it safe?
@@Lagger01 Making the other individual(s) question their own perspective on something. That’s what the game was doing, making Mark question himself so hard on if he was on a correct hallway, because at that point, you’re afraid to move forward in case you’re wrong right at the very end.
Imagine just walking through the subway with your briefcase and phone, just trying to get home and you see the same person each time. You never acknowledge them, but you're aware you seem to cross paths consistently.

Inspired by @SuzakuGame from the comments of I'm on Observation Duty, I'm here to list all of the anomalies Markiplier missed! Feel absolutely free to correct me!
(each timestamp is where the hallway STARTS)
6:34 - The doorknob on the far left door is centered.
@@HanabiraKage Ah, I appreciate you checking as well! I even went through all those scenes at 0.25x speed and still couldn't see anything.
