My husband made me late to one of their concerts when I was 6 months pregnant, and when we got to our seats the girl next to me said: "You just missed Jon, he just flew over (on his harness) next to your seat and sang a song. The look I gave my husband....
If it were possible, I would take you back to the day when this song came out, Jamel, and show you how much fun we were having dancing and partying to this song! It.... was.... GLORIOUS! Have a great day!
I can 100% back this up. Teens at the time were losing their minds with this song cranked up to 11 on a daily basis! And here, in 2020, it's considered one of the greatest rock songs of all time.
Jamel, I think that I speak for many of your viewers when I say, We Love You! The joy and comfort you have brought to all of us during this time. Keep the faith and stay strong!
As a long-time Bon Jovi-fan, "She Don't Know me" is one of the few songs that BJ themselves didn't write. So even though it's a cool song, it's not really fitting for someone getting to know the group. "Bed of Roses", however, is a gem. One of their best songs, in my opinion.
Holy Flashback! I saw them outside of DC over 30 years ago. What you can't see or hear in this video is the sound of women screaming. Now Bon Jovi can bang. I was on the floor and could barely hear them. OMG, the screaming! It was insane !
My favorite Bon Jovi song!!! Doesn't get any better than this .especially the song's 'introduction'....In the opening bars of "Livin' on a Prayer," when Sambora's guitar almost seems to be saying "a whoa whoa, a whoa whoa," that's actually Richie Sambora shaping his guitar's notes into "whoa" sounds using his mouth.
I was 24 when this came out; it was directly in the CENTER of my wheel house. we had Barracks Anthems while i was in the military, and this is one where everyone in the barracks knew all the words; you could hear us out on the road. great band. great musician. 35 years later he's still performing like it was the 80s, except with a hair cut.
Saw them live when they were first taking off to the stratosphere. He was so good at working the crowd. They opened for Rat, two weeks later, they weren't an opener anymore.
These guys are just as awesome live, I've seen them as a customer and as someone working a venue and they never disappoint. The last concert of theirs I went to they did FIVE encores. They just kept coming back for us. It was also obvious that even after 30+ yrs they still love what they do and the audience could feel it. Love them!!
1986. I'm ten years old. My best friend is SO excited as he tells me about this music video that's in black in white until the singer "kicks" (ok it was a knee but TVs weren't that good back then!) and it goes to color and how I have to see it. And he was right. This was a jam.
I’ve been a fan of these guys since 1989 & will forever be a fan 🤘😁🤘. I’ve seen them in concert 11 times over the years & it was so worth EVERY dollar I spent ✊️😎👍
Jon's dad was a hair dresser and used to cut Jon's hair. His younger brother used to sell some locks of his hair to his high school friends. Cute story
Peter Frampton's Talk Box is called, "The Framptone". So, "The Framptone" is the instrument used in this video. Here is some more info on that: Frampton's talkbox featured in Bon Jovi's number one hit - MPR News Staff - March 13, 2017 3:50 p.m. - Today's Morning Edition music is from "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi which was number one on the Billboard popchart 30 years ago today. The song was recorded using a talkbox - a device that was connected to Richie Sambora's guitar. The sound from the guitar is fed through a plastic tube into Sambora's mouth. By changing the shape of his mouth, Sambora can alter the sound which is then picked up by a regular microphone.
@Maria Ramirez honestly I'm not sure. Guitar Center stores may have them, but you probably have to order it online because I haven't seen them in stores.
The lead singer name is Jon Bon Jovi. He is an amazing man!! He is married to high school sweetheart. He has a restaurant in Philly, the menu have no prices, you pay what you can and if no money you will still have an nice dinner. Jon is a beautiful man inside and out, great humanitarian!!! He is a Jersey boy. Him and Bruce Springsteen are the best thing to come out of Jersey.
My little sister was a huge Bon Jovi fan. I remember helping her study for vocabulary tests by setting the definitions to the tune of Bon Jovi songs. She got really good grades on those tests.
This was the very first song of theirs I ever heard while on holidays in the US “back in the day” & I was instantly “hooked” 🤘😝. Jamel... This was typical of the 80’s.... BIG hair, BIG outfits & wild ass rock 🤘😜🤘
Bon Jovi has had a long career for a reason. Their most recent album, titled 2020, is phenomenal. I need to see people start reacting to the song off the album "American Reckoning", it's one of the most lyrically powerful songs Jon has written.
One of the all-time great rock songs....without a doubt (as Garth would say). I didn't fully appreciate Bon Jovi when they were at their peak but a few years later I realized their greatness. This song is best enjoyed AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE!!!!!....but please don't bother your neighbors or others....be courteous and considerate.
That ua-ua- u-u-ua sound is the guitar player Richie Sambora who uses a Talk Box. The guitar signal goes into a tiny speaker that is connected to a tube. The other end of the tube is close to the Mic Richie uses for singing (he is an outstanding singer, by the way, does most of the background and harmony voices). Riche plays guitar with the tube in his mouth while he sings. That makes the guitar sound like it‘s talking. Peter Frampton (do you feel like we do / show me the way) and Joe Walsh use this effect a lot, too.
Two Bon Jovi videos Two references to Keifer (lots of names) Sutherland. Young Guns II (2) Sutherland in both movies. Watch them. Recognize most of this cast Sound track is all Bon Jovi Blaze of Glory
Jon Bon Jovi is one gorgeous and talented man. Richie Sambora too. I've seen them a few times in concert. Just as good in person. Nothing more fun than being in front of the stage and interacting with the band during an 80's concert.😍💗🤘💋
The sound being made at the beginning of the song is being produced by a talk box. It's an effects unit with a tube that the guitarist puts in his mouth, usually by a microphone, and using the cavity of his mouth, shapes the sound content of the note coming from the guitar, thus in this song, the verbal "whoa, whoa, whoa" riff.
Love rockin and grooving out with ya even when you know the song- keep em coming Jamel- Love our Mr. Video soooo much too- he did Daryls house but..had no clue who Daryl was.. oh my.. still love him tho, for sure- someone requested it I’m sure. But he needs to at least know who Hall & Oats are and hear the originals first in my opinion- ❤️✌️
Bon Jovi is out here still rocking it too. Just last year he released another album named 2020. One of my favorite songs from it is "Brothers in Arms".
First time I saw Bon Jovi, they opened up for either Scorpions or Judas Priest...don't remember which...I was sent to the hotel to pick them up and had to sit in their room and wait for Jon to shower and do his hair....At the end of the night I found one of the bandmember's laminated backstage passes in the rental car but they were already gone...I still have it....that was prolly 35 years ago....Livi ng on a Prayer is one of the greatest rock choruses of all time....Jamel, you should check out the 'Rockin Mob' version of this song....300 Russian musicians playing a song by a dude from New Jersey...talk about a universal language....
Bon Jovi released "Livin' on a Prayer" as a single on October 31, 1986. The Lost Boys was released on July 31, 1987. So yeah, some stunt tech overlap there most likely.
Seen Bon Jovi in 86/87 when I was in the Navy. Thank you. Try doing some April Wine- like to rock, Sign of the gypsy queen, and just between you and me. They are a great band from late 70's. Keep up with the great job you do for all of us
Some of the best singing by Jon Bon Jovi. Joe Perry used the talk box. Written by Jon Bon Jovi, Joe Perry + Desmond Child. This song is about DC. But JBJ changed the name to Tommy. This song is Part 1 of Tommy + Gina. Part 2 came in 2000. The song is It's My Life. Recommended for your next reaction! 🤟🎸🤟 Recorded in Vancouver, Canada. 🇨🇦 Produced by Bruce Fairbairn. He produced Loverboy and Prism before this album. Afterwards, BF produced Aerosmith, AC/DC, Van Halen + Yes. Engineered by Bob Rock. In 1988, he produced Motley Crue + The Cult. In 1991, he produced The Cult again + Metallica, the bestselling Black Album. #30years 🎂 RIP Bruce Fairbairn. He was a true Vancouver native: cradle to grave. 🇨🇦
This was released during my senior year of high school. Magical times. I quickly got burned out on this song as it was overplayed. You Give Love a Bad Name was released before this. They went on an incredible run from here. An earlier song of theirs called "Runaway" still hits hard for me.
Yes! Bon Jovi was the soundtrack of a great part of my life. Dead or Alive is my very favorite though. ✌🏻👏🏻👍🏻. Well this came out in 1986 and the Lost Boys came out in 1987. So it’s the times, baby...lol. Everybody sings along to this song. I loved your reaction. Yes!
that opening sound is Richie Sambora using a Vocoder. Peter Frampton used one on Do You Feel (Like I Do) and Joe Perry uses one at the beginning of Aerosmith's Sweet Emotion. Its basically an electrified voice box that works in tandem with the guitar.
My wife and I had tickets to their concert last June but got cancelled due to COVID. She was sad about it cuz she normally doesn't like to pay a lot money for concerts, but Bon Jovi is one of her favorite artists and going to their concert is on her bucket list.
Oh and Jamal, that sound you were hearing is called a Talk Box. Richie Sambora used it, what it does is by pass the guitar signal to the amp and sends the sound up a rubber tube that he holds in his teeth and the guitar sound comes out of his mouth into a microphone and what ever shape he makes with his mouth that's what the sound comes out sounding like.
Raise your hand if remember when MTV played music videos and you saw this video 1 million times🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
We watched it go from snow to MTV!

MTV's Most Wanted with Adam Curry. Junior High dreams!!!
slippery when wet was awesome
Jon has been married to his highschool sweet heart for 30 some years. That's rare in Rock n Roll
Barry Gibb has been married to his wife for 50 years!
A good man, hes done some very charitable things.
Bono as well.
John Kay (Steppenwolf) has been married to his wife Jutta for close to 50 years, they met in 1965. Take the Magic Carpet Ride!
Because of Alip_ba_ta, everyone's like this.

The 70’s and 80’s were the best time to be young and stupid. Loved it!
And I was certainly both of those back in the day 😂
Yup!!!! We lived to tell the tale!!
@@barbarabutterfield2679 yup. Stories I have are legendary. I should write a book 🤣
@@michellewhaley3489 I subscribed to you. Please let me know when you write that book and link me to the website. 😁
Was right there with ya !!!...so much fun !!
Jon is even handsomer now if that’s possible! He has a free restaurant in Jersey for poor people. His Dad, Mr Bongiovi , styled his hair!
They always looked like they were having so much fun.
And I still have a massive crush on John Bon Jovi. He has aged like a fine wine.
His voice unfortunately has not
My husband made me late to one of their concerts when I was 6 months pregnant, and when we got to our seats the girl next to me said: "You just missed Jon, he just flew over (on his harness) next to your seat and sang a song. The look I gave my husband....
One of the ULTIMATE anthems from the 80's!!!!
I agree with you Jamel, the 70's and 80's were an awesome time!
@ted ritola I agree Ted! Thank you for the info.
One of my all times favorite groups I still listen to this these days. Any true fans I'm sure still do.
Loved the Lost Boys reference.
Yup. Made me laugh.
😂😂
Just watched that movie...still good!
I did too - and it makes sense as it is from the same era.
"Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire."
First time I’ve seen you sing with a song! That’s when you know it’s good.
80s arena concerts were the best!
80s was the shit good times!
The anthem of a generation
Great song to dance and drive too.
Coincidentally, Bon Jovi actually has a song (and album) titled "Keep The Faith." You'd like it.
A really awesome song!
I just asked for Dry County probably my fav track by them.
His dad was his hairstylist if I recall correctly. :)
You are correct 🙂
@Maria Ramirez yes, his dad was his hairstylist.
The key change at the end of this song always gets me. Please do Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive."
Great band with an even better frontman. Jon Bon Jovi is a great man. Even runs a restaurant for the homeless.
Several. He’s truly great. 💜
Jamel, I think that I speak for many of your viewers when I say, We Love You! The joy and comfort you have brought to all of us during this time. Keep the faith and stay strong!
I knew I had raised my kids right when they busted out a capella singing this while we all washed dishes
Gotta love '80s Bon Jovi.
N0, no ya don't sorry.
Tommy & Gina featured in this song, is the main characters in a series of songs by Bon Jovi :)
Хорошая задумка!)
At least three, possibly four
The late '80s. Best time of my life. Song will never get old.
“Bed of Roses”...and a real early Bon Jovi song...”She Don’t Know Me”.
She don't know me as well as roulette are me favorite songs but most won't even remember them lol
Holy Flashback! I saw them outside of DC over 30 years ago. What you can't see or hear in this video is the sound of women screaming. Now Bon Jovi can bang. I was on the floor and could barely hear them. OMG, the screaming! It was insane !
That sound was the "voicebox" we've heard in many songs. Just used as an accent instead of forming words like Frampton did with it.
i remember being in 5th grade singing this song with my best friend playing tetherball on the playground. simpler times man
This song has become the anthem of Bon Jovi. Audiences react and become part of the band during the chorus. Great song. A classic.
Oh man, I used to sit in front of the TV and wait for this to come on MTV. I was obsessed. Still love Bon Jovi.
Its just a classic isn't it you can't listen to it without singing along.😁
“What is that?” That’s called a talk box. It filters your voice similar to a whaw whaw pedal. It was made famous by Peter F4ampton.
Bon Jovi New Jersey was one of the first TAPES I ever bought and I wore it out. The whole album is pretty bad ass!!
Jamel. I am a 3 time cancer survivor and I appreciate these old songs so much.!They really lift my spirits in this wacky world today. Thanku. !😇
Please react to you Give Love a bad name from Bon Jovi.. This man can sing even a telephone book and make it look awesome
Thank you brother Jam ♥️
I was just thinking, they used to make songs that would lift you up. Gotta love the 80s!
Bon Jovi got us through LIFE!!!!
This was one of the biggest rock songs of the 80s. A true rock anthem.
And with a so good message.
You dated yourself. Lost Boys is my favorite soundtrack. And this is one of my favorite cassettes. And yes I aged myself. (I also had 8 tracks)
There's something about 80s music, doesn't matter who the band is, but it makes you feel so alive! I LOVE 80s music
Lost Boys is one of the greatest movies ever, with one of the best soundtracks ever. Lol.
just adding another loverboy song that was so much fun is "Loving every minute of it" ty
Saw them live when they were first taking off to the stratosphere. He was so good at working the crowd. They opened for Rat, two weeks later, they weren't an opener anymore.

So badass to see someone who enjoys music as much as I do
I love Bon Jovi, seen them 3 times now, and I can say for the old songs the energy is still the same at the concerts. Good times.
Jon's dad was a hair dresser and used to cut Jon's hair. His younger brother used to sell some locks of his hair to his high school friends. Cute story

It's called a talk box, it's a guitar pedal that runs through the amp to your microphone
He must have forgotten that because he already talked about that once when he did a reaction to Peter Frampton.
@Maria Ramirez honestly I'm not sure. Guitar Center stores may have them, but you probably have to order it online because I haven't seen them in stores.

This song means a lot during these times..Love Bon Jovi 💓
This song is played every night in every club/bar in New Jersey, and everybody sings along.
This was the very first song of theirs I ever heard while on holidays in the US “back in the day” & I was instantly “hooked” 🤘😝. Jamel... This was typical of the 80’s.... BIG hair, BIG outfits & wild ass rock 🤘😜🤘

Oh wow! The very first concert I went to was Skid Row and Jovi in 1989. My mother took me to it.
Best hair ever... Everyone aspired to it.
That sound on the guitar is one your favorite things, the tube! Absolutely 80s
I grew up in the 60's and 70's, and never thought that all of the hair was attractive, but their music is great.
OMG..... they look sooo young. I used to love this song and BON JOVI always had great music.
I have always loved this song. The sentiments have become relevant all over again.
That ua-ua- u-u-ua sound is the guitar player Richie Sambora who uses a Talk Box. The guitar signal goes into a tiny speaker that is connected to a tube. Two Bon Jovi videos
Two references to Keifer (lots of names) Sutherland.
Young Guns II (2)
Sutherland in both movies. Watch them. Recognize most of this cast
Sound track is all Bon Jovi
Blaze of Glory
Jon Bon Jovi is one gorgeous and talented man. Richie Sambora too. I've seen them a few times in concert. Just as good in person. Nothing more fun than being in front of the stage and interacting with the band during an 80's concert.😍💗🤘💋
Nice call on “Lost Boys”. One of my favorite movies! 🎶 🧛♂️
Yeah, seriously, any videos you can watch, no matter what bands, are so worth it. So so so so so so a million
They had it all...gorgeous and talented. Met them quite a few times.
The device used for the vocalization is called a talk box. Worth your time to look it up! I'm glad you enjoyed this song!
Saw them April 3rd 1987.... I was only 12 but it was a rocking show! My 3rd live concert! Thanks for the memories!
JBJ had the BEST hair. I think his dad was his hair guy...Also, their version of Hallelujah makes me cry.
"You live for the fight when that's all that you've got." Been there.
Live 1985 MTV music awards acoustic performance of Dead or Alive..... PPPPLLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEE :). John and Richie at their absolutel best.
Eighties music is the best. I still listen to it and it was a great time to be a teenager!
Bon Jovi is out here still rocking it too. Just last year he released another album named 2020. One of my favorite songs from it is "Brothers in Arms".
My favorite Bon Jovi song of all!
Love how well this video captures the energy and positive vibes you felt at one of their concerts. Yet another brand of sexy done well.
Love this band live! I've seen them on five different times in my life, equally awesome every time.

A couple of other good rockers from Bon Jovi are Wanted Dead Or Alive from this album and Lay Your Hands On Me from Bon Jovi's New Jersey album.
one of the greatest songs ever recorded.
Loved this song when I was a kid...still love it to this day!!
Seen Bon Jovi in 86/87 when I was in the Navy. Thank you. Try doing some April Wine- like to rock, Sign of the gypsy queen, and just between you and me. They are a great band from late 70's. Keep up with the great job you do for all of us
This song will make you move and make you sing. Its become a classic
Some of the best singing by Jon Bon Jovi. Joe Perry used the talk box.
Written by Jon Bon Jovi, Joe Perry + Desmond Child.
This song is about DC. But JBJ changed the name to Tommy.

Road trip songs, like Born To Run, some songs were meant to be sung loud as you’re driving fast! Bon Jovi’s It’s My Life was always the favorite.
I love Bon Jovi! Thank you for your reactions. Jon did a duet with LeAnn Rimes. Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore. Great song.
