S#THREEEE....hell yeah, I have an 18 S3 as my daily , best car I have ever had hands down. I got it almost new , few thousand miles two years ago , put 40K miles on it already LOL. Im tuned stage 1 ECU/TCU with 034 Motorsports, springs, dogbone mounts, motor mounts, going for stage 2 soon. even stage 1 this car is a freaking beast, Im beating up on just about everyone on the road on my daily commute, it handles like it was on rails, the chassis has that amazing feeling of being so compact and toss able. God, I cant get enough of my S3 and Im just getting started.
Even the a3 is a great platform, I believe iroz Motorsport is still selling a 600hp kit for the a3. Suggested quarter mile time is a high 9 second. My dad picked up a 2017 a3 s line Quattro for 16k. Plus the extra 10k or so to sort out the engine, maybe another 5k and theirs the bolt ons you need to smoke the s3 and rs3
A3 is great , I had one, but the S3 is an even better value IMO. The S3 has many things added to the engine to reinforce it, (A3 doesn't have) including reinforced rods and pistons, a significantly better cylinder head, different compression ratio, piston cooling jets exhaust camshaft, new exhaust valves, etc holds up better to high boost scenarios. Then you have all the exterior and suspension upgrades .

i have a 2015 s3 have loved every second. there’s a couple problems that seems to affect these engines, but knock on wood i’ve dealt with them all now.
@@Jo_Wardy big ones i remember were the intake manifold, a couple different things with vents for the ac system (basically 2 winters in a row it picked a vent to stop blowing air out of). the camshaft actuator magnet i just had to replace a couple weeks ago, that ended up being a cheap fix thankfully but the codes it threw would have you thinking otherwise. water pump needed to be replaced at like 40k miles and haldex pump needed replacing at about 50k miles, car was fwd only until that got fixed. last big one i remember is the front passenger seat airbags. don’t let anyone you love sit in that seat the PODS got recalled twice and my shit still isn’t fixed. all in all, i’m the second owner bought it in may 2020 with 39k miles. i think most of my shit luck had to do with the previous owner not having enough money to take care of it properly. i’ve been on top my maintenance and it’s treated me pretty good for the most part.
Bought my 2016 for $25k last year with 43k miles, EQT E30 ECU and DSG tune with a downpipe was making 11.8s passes on the track, for the money nobody was able to beat it.
@@_NB233 just passed 70k, with a Vortex turbo since October 2021, now I don’t have to be chasing for ethanol and ran a 3.43 0-60 and a 11.53 on the 1/4, since I bought the car only maintenance stuff done to it.
S3’s are really fun, but I love my Stage 2 E85 RS3. Supercar speeds for non-super car prices. A Stage 2 S3 is close to keeping up with a stock RS3, but a Stage 2 RS3 keeps up with the some of the fastest production cars in the world. If you haven’t driven an RS3 yet I’d find one to test drive. So much fun.
Even more sleeper choice is a base A3 Quattro which I picked up for $10k. Throw a Stage 2 ECU/TCU tune, down pipe, exhaust and intake. Plenty power and fun for daily driving.
I've got an S3 from 2007 with 308 horsepowers and it's not often I wish I had more power. This thing seriously RIPS at legal speeds. Only spent about 120'000SEK (about $11k USD) on it in total which is insanely good value IMO (cars are generally more expensive here in Sweden than in the US)

Ok I agree with everything, it’s actually a very good all around car for everything for the price, but the true real sleeper which is actually very expensive is the RS3, that thing is just insane on stock turbo it can do low 10s in the 1/4 mile and mid 3s 0-60, I know someone that has an upgraded turbo and it does mid 8s in the 1/4 mile, I can’t imagine how that feels

Did a unitronic stage 2. Did the downpipe and intercooler. Blew my trans and then 2 months later blew the engine. Weak internals. Stick with bmw or Mercedes. This guy has no idea what he is talking about. My stock m4 comp is faster than the stage 2 s3 and I got the m4 for the same price of the Audi lol. Other than that fun car to drive.
First off, just because you had an issue with it doesn’t mean the internals are weak because they aren’t. There’s several people I personally know on big turbo making 450-500whp on stock internals with no issue. Stock trans as well (just a trans tune). My s3 is at 400whp currently for the past year or so and 0 issues and I beat tf out of it. Either you didn’t know what you were doing or the previous owner fucked the car up already. I have also beat a stock M4 comp so 🤷🏽♂️ and I’m still on stock turbo. These engines are proven to be reliable even at 500whp. You are the one that doesn’t know what they talking about.
And If you got a m4 comp for the same price of an S3 then you got robbed for that s3 in the first place. Which tells me you have no idea what you are doing😂

There’s several people I personally know on big turbo making 450-500whp on stock internals with no issue. Stock trans as well (just a trans tune). My s3 is at 400whp currently for the past year or so and 0 issues and I beat tf out of it. Either you didn’t know what you were doing or the previous owner fucked the car up already. I have also beat a stock M4 comp so 🤷🏽♂️ and I’m still on stock turbo. These engines are proven to be reliable even at 500whp. You are the one that doesn’t know what they talking about.
And If you got a m4 comp for the same price of an S3 then you got robbed for that s3 in the first place. Which tells me you have no idea what you are doing😂

Okay apr still in business and only the stage 2 was removed you can get stage one regular,next is stage one high torque,they discontinued stage 2 because all it did was pretty much break imisions stage three is the next turbo size up like a k03 to a k04 it's fine I'm getting ready to go stage 3 Apr on my a3 8p fwd dsg just put a ko4 and new spark plugs and coils
